We have a computer programmed in Codesys 3.5. We can connect it locally trough ethernet. But now we want to have remote access.
We only have a Teltonika Router (RUT955) on the side of the machine. We can connect trough VPN to this router, when connected we can ping the computer and also have access to other devices in the network but no succes with Codesys.
We know there is a option for the Codesys Automation server, but this won't work for us because we don't have an Linux based computer on the other side.
So is there any option that Codesys will work over VPN, IPSEC or any other VPN instance?
Thanks in advance!
Robin

But you have to take care of the all the configuration yourself. Ask a network or security specialist for advice on how to best setup your config for your specific needs.

If you can ping the machine, you should be able to connect to it using Codesys. I do this everyday and it works fine. Don't try to scan the network to find the Codesys runtime. Just manually put the IP address.

you do not need a Linux based computer to get remote access with CODESYS Automation server.. which plc is it on remote side?

We are currently working with the ESX.3CM from STW-Technic.
If you can ping the machine, you should be able to connect to it using Codesys. I do this everyday and it works fine. Don't try to scan the network to find the Codesys runtime. Just manually put the IP address.
Which version of Codesys are you using?
As of right now, I am using 3.5.18.2 but this has nothing to do with the version of Codesys as far as I know.
I did it in the past using TeamViewerVPN, OpenVPN and now I mostly use Wireguard and it works fine.
My runtime is running on Linux but it should work the same on Windows.
Maybe a stupid question but the runtime is a different computer then the PLC you want to connect to?
Can you specify what runtime you have?
Thanks in advance!
most important question is which version are you using with ESX
Hi, we are using the ESX-3CM (76031) Series, Ethernet.
yes sure but which CODESYS version is this on that device?
Version inside the 3CM is CODESYS IEC 61131-3
3.5.x.x that x are the important thing to know and give you help
We are using the STW CODESYS 3.5.6.0 SP6 on our desktop/computer. How can we access the version inside the 3CM? if that is what you mean.
