I have some devices with runtime 3.5.5.5 and some devices with runtime 3.5.12.0.
So I install IDE 3.5 SP5 Patch5 and 3.5 SP12.
As you said before, since SP12 OPC needs to pay license.
But after installing 3.5 SP12 I can't use OPC with SP5 Patch5. I got next error:
Is this expected behavior?

yes this is expected - yopu need a license either demo for testing purpose or full:

I always pray try to use OPC UA for new projects
(Securirty, encryption...etc )
