My apologizes if this is a simple fix, I've been going in circles for a few days now. I've got Codesys v3.5 SP17 programming a ComfilePi HMI (effectively a Raspberry Pi), and have successfully completed several projects with this hardware now.
I've now got a project using Ethernet I/P (not sure if this is affecting the fault or not), and it seems to be locking me out of the User authentication.
Here's a time line of events:
- Fresh OS install on ComfilePi
- Enable SSH, open Codesys and install Raspberry Pi runtime package v4.4.0.0 with out a hitch. Can see System Info no worries.
- Connect to the HMI for the first time and it asks to make a User Management. So make a simple username and password.
- Upload program to HMI, and test, all working OK.
- Open Chromium for the Visualization, and the ComfilePi crashes immediately.
- Upon reboot, try to connect to the HMI, using 'Scan Network', the Raspberry Pi shows, and it prompts for the login. But the simple user name and password doesn't work anymore. See attached picture.
I can still ping the Raspberry Pi, connect via SSH in Putty, and within Codesys can connect and update the Runtime package, and check the System Info, but I cant connect using the user management login. It seems to look like its connecting as seen in the picture, but then keeps asking for the username and password, never completing the connection or upload. If i select Cancel, it says 'Invalid user authentication on the target'.
I have formatted the SD card and re imaged the OS, and completed the above steps, both times on two different displays i seem to be having the same issue at the same time. Opening Chromium seems to crash the OS and deletes or changes the user login details for some reason?!
I've tried to stop and restart codesyscontrol, stop and restart the gateway, i cant reset to origin as i cant login, checked the log and no errors showing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm so sorry if I'm missing something very basic. Thank you for time and assistance on this.
An internal hardware fault when powered via 24vdc was causing the voltage regulator to brownout causing the ComfilePi HMI to restart. When opening up Chromium, it must have added enough load to the regulator to trigger the brownout. By powering the ComfilePi with 12vdc, I haven't had this problem again. I'll be following up to get this hardware fixed.
When the brownout occurs, it somehow corrupts the RPi connection to Codesys. As yet I am still unable to find a work around aside from re-imaging the SD card.
Does Codesys support have any suggestions on how to avoid or repair this?
Hope you have a good day. Chao

Hello Sir,
i have the same issue. Do you have any solution?
Regards
Singh
Hi Singh and All,
So it turned out to be two issues...

When opening up Chromium, it must have added enough load to the regulator to trigger the brownout. By powering the ComfilePi with 12vdc, I haven't had this problem again. What does it mean - after this happens you could not login because login fails due wrong user login credentials?
Filesystem check?
