We are using a Siemens PLC S7-1500 to control a manufacturing process.
In order to build a Human Machine Interface to supervise and control this process, we want to use a CODESYS HMI running on a normal PC with Windows.
My questions are :
1- Is it possible to use a CODESYS HMI with a Siemens plc and establish communication between them ?
2- If yes, what are the components required for this configuration (software or licenses from the CODESYS store, protocols for the communication (Profinet, OPC UA,…), etc) ?

You may use Control Win PLC with target Visu and connect it as Profinet Controller or device to your Siemens plc.
One of the option you have.
Sure could bei OPC UA client or server too.
