Dear forum, I currently have a big question mark above my head, and maybe this forum can shine some light on the situation. I recently updated to Codesys 3.15 SP19 Patch 6. And now I’m trying to setup the OPC-UA server, besides that I’m trying to connect to the controller with the Codesys V3 (Ethernet) protocol. OPC-UA I have installed the correct licenses on my controller (Runtime and communication). I’m able to connect to the controller with an OPC-UA client, and I’m able to browse the tags, so far so good. Therefore I’m assuming that the OPC-UA server is running on the controller. But now the strange part, in the device security settings I have set the communication Policy to BASCI256SHA256 ( I also have tried the other ones) and the communication mode is set to secure if possible (I also have tried all the other ones) (see picture). With these settings I would assume that I would only be able to login with a Basic256SHA256 policy with a client. But the opposite is true, I am able to login using the no policy mode and when I set it to Basic256SHA256 the client (UA-Expert) notes that this policy is not available on the server. I then check the certificates and I noted that there is no certificate for the OPC-UA server, I tried to generate one but it gave the error that the certificate has not been created by the device (See picture). To summarize I have no clue what is going on, and the controller does the opposite of what I would expect. Codesys Ethernet V3 driver I have a HMI connected to the same controller using the Ethernet V3 driver. But this will not connect. I tried all the Protocols (see picture), with and without the username and password enabled. But it will not connect, when I scan the available servers I can see the controller with the port number that I am expecting, so I’m assuming that the Codesys V3 ethernet driver is up on the controller. Does anyone can give me some direction, because the stuff that I tried doesn’t make sense to me. Thank you in advance

Hallo zusammen, ich habe eine Frage bezüglich dem Verhalten der Tasks. In der Hilfe und hier im Forum sowei im Internet konnte ich diesbezüglich leider nichts finden. Wie genau verhält sich Codesys wenn mehrere zyklische Task eingestellt sind und bei einem ab und zu die Abarbeitung des angehängten Programmes länger dauert als das Aufrufintervall eingestellt ist. D.H. der nächste Aufruf würde "theoretisch" erfolgen bevor alles im Program abgearbeitet ist. Z.B. Intervall ist 1ms, Abarbeitung dauert manchmel 1,1ms oder länger. (Watchdog ist zwar eingeschaltet, aber größer gewählt als das Zyklische Intervall zum Aufruf. Watchdog soll jetzt auch nicht das Thema sein). Was passiert in so einem Fall? - Wird das Programm zuerst zu Ende abgearbeitet und dann der nächste Aufruf gestartet? - Wird das Programm "mittendrin" unterbrochen und dann neu gestartet? - wie genau muss ich mir das vorstellen wenn dem so ist? - ...... - ...... Ich konnte überall nur Anleitungen finden wie die Tasks zu konfigurieren sind, jedoch nichts dazu was im oben genannten Fall genau passieren wird. Gruss Markus

Hallo, ich habe Probleme beim nachbauen des BacNet2 Tutorials "Erste Schritte" aus der CODESYS Online Help. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/de/CODESYS%20BACnet/_bacnet_first_steps.html Das Anlegen des BacNet2 Servers und der danach folgenden BacNet Datenpunkte erfolgt ohne Probleme. Der Code lässt sich mit F11 auch Fehlerfrei generieren. Beim Download auf die SPS tritt dann der Fehler auf dem Bild auf. Anbei auch ein Bild des Logs nach dem Download. CODESYS BACnet 2.0.0.0 ist über den Installer runtergeladen. With the example I have now managed to control the trace recording via the CmpTraceMgr library. But how do I get this trace recording into a visual element? Hi, supporting a text based storage format is on our roadmap, see https://www.codesys.com/the-system/releases-updates-lifecycle/release-plan-roadmap.html It will be an Add-On feature called "File Based Storage" for the professional developer edition. Structured text POUs will be stored as plain text. Other graphical languages will remain in an xml format. You will be able to switch the storage type for projects. Certain workflows will become easier this way. Nevertheless restrictions will remain because of CODESYS specific storage logic (for example how methods below function blocks are stored as file). So merging using our Git Integration Add-On remains the recommended workflow. A workflow involving Visual Studio Code as the main IDE is not supported. Simply because many topics like library management, task configuration or fieldbus configurators are not available for VS Code. A PLC project is a lot more than just some ST POUs. Best Regards

ok, that's different than our issue then. We're using Schneider Electric M262 PLCs, and we've had it where certain web browsers cause the web server to only allow https connections, but it's not recoverable with a refresh. It usually requires a power cycle or even a full firmware flash. Your issue might have more to do with the timing. I don't know if it helps you, but we normally run our visu task at 200mS, with an update rate of 200mS. Seems to work. I went through this: https://faq.codesys.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=112525371 but it really seems like trial and error.

We have several old project written with 3.5.17 and 3.5.18 and also some older Until now when a customer ordered a product from us. We just installed (we have a tested image) and added a license Now the license policy has changed and we have to buy a License Control Basic S or M However it only works with CODESYS Development System Version 3.5.19.10 or higher Does that mean we have to upgrade all our old products? That is not a simple task as a previous post has explained with weird error messages from CODESYS V3.5. Next we have to do rigorous testing of our applications afterwards. It is very expensive

Hello everyone, I have the task of programming a map. With the help of the visualization element "Table", I have managed to accomplish this. In the Input Configuration, I activated the option: "Write Variables", so that the user can change the values in the map. To test the program, I select the Online Mode (Simulation).There I change the values in the map. When restarting the program in CODESYS, the changes in the map are no longer there. Usage of this pointer access at your own risk :-) Works with SP16. From SP17 and newer there will be warnigs etc. using this solution as I remember. It will be great, if Codesys publishes a example or give a hint how to accesse this client values with the VisuUtil lib or other future-proof way!

This explanation aligns with the issues we’re experiencing with our machines. The scenario I described is happening with one of them (let’s call it Machine A). This machine is identical to another one (Machine B), except for some custom code that facilitates communication with an external Beckhoff PLC for MES integration in the production line. Machine B has been powered on and off daily for at least three months and has never had this problem. Given that, I highly doubt the MES custom code is the cause of the code corruption. This being said, your explanation does seem plausible. However, if faulty EtherCAT cables were the issue, why wouldn't the error occur during normal operation? Why would bad cables only cause problems during a hard shutdown? One last question: When you encountered this behavior, did you see a similar error in your logs? i.e, an "AccessViolation" exception in the EtherCAT Task?
