Hi all! I'm trying to learn PLC Programing. Today I was making a simple PLC program, as you can see. When I compile the program without the visualization, there are no errors. However, when I add the visualization and then compile it, I get this error. I don’t know how to solve the problem. I have tried the following solutions: rebooting the PC and updating the software. Error Code: C0138: No matching 'FB_Init' method found for instantiation of VisuClientObjectMgr Compile complete -- 1 errors, 0 warnings Build complete -- 1 errors, 0 warnings : No download possible Version: CODESYS V3.5 SP21 Patch 3

Unfortunately, the "C0138: No matching 'FB_Init" method found" error is a nightmare for CODESYS V3.5 SP21. I'm not sure if anything has been done about this or if anything will be fixed. I've encountered the same issue many times, and it was only resolved by completely uninstalling SP21, deleting all related files and folders from my computer, and then installing SP19. So, I've given up on using SP21 and switched back to SP19patch7. Here are some previous posts regarding the "C0138: No matching 'FB_Init" on SP21 of Codesys. https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Visualization/thread/0763d6ca8e/ https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Motion/thread/9074005bf4/

Post by jbcregen on Accessing parameters from a structure or function block with the web interface CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have a project with hundreds of OPC-UA variables available on the network. A lot of these variables are used actively in various scripts that run in background in the OS (Linux). I'm experimenting with Automation Server and I have a hard time understanding how the web interface populates its parameters list for a given PLC (<plc details="" parameters="" for="" plc="" 'xyz'="">).</plc> In this page, it looks like the only variables available are the ones that are of a "base" type : bool, TIME, String, INT, etc. All the variables that are nested into function blocks or structures are not available in the web interface, even if they are available to any OPC-UA client. Is this a limitation of the Automation Server or is there something that can be done in Codesys?

Post by tali on Configuration of disabled/deactivated visu elements CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
would be great to have such fucntionality. Sometimes it is not clear for user which elemetns are blocked and which are not - the greyed out eleemtns are not so different for low resolution / low quality screeens. What I have in my mind as well is to have a possibility to detect the visu Element clicked on and get its Access Rights. If it is blocked/deactivated, the dialog can be rised with INFO 'please login first with proper rights'. It is possible now to have a Mose event Handler ( Examples -> EventHandler) and rise the dialog out of ST (Exapmpals -> ST Dialogs). I am struggling still with getting the separate Visu Element under the mouse and its structure info

Post by swol on HTML 5 - Controls -> Change Content-Security-Policy settings CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Sorry for being late to the party... so it is not possible to use the webbrowser tool to display external websites in a visu anymore? As it is not possible to simply "adjust the ContentSecurityPolicyIncludeTrustedOrigins setting in the automatically generated webvisu.cfg.json file" as stated in the docs? We need to display data read from a Raspberry Pi (part of our computer network) in our webvisu. We used to do it by entering the Pi's IP address as the URL variable in the webbrowser element but now (I don't know since when, I'm new on the job) "The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource (frame-src) at 'IP address' because it violates the following directive: “default-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline'”. What are the options for displaying the data?

Hi everyone Am trying to make establish MQTT connection , where am using IIOT example for this as a demo mode. where i had given IP-address of of local Linux application as a 172.31.239.67 and port number as 1883 in the PLC_PRG itself, and preparing the publish message by manually as " this is from published message", and this should receive at the subscriber side. Aim: To make communicate external publisher to the CODESYS by using MQTT protocol. By any chance having reference documents about this implementation please share here. and suggest the process to make it possible. I had uploaded reference project file after updating address in th PLG_PRG, kindly assist to configure with the broker

Post by timvh on Codesys complains about matching versions CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Open the CODESYS Installer. Create an export file from your current PC from your current version. Then on the other PC Open the installer and install a new version based on the same essentials version, but additionally select the export file which you have created on the first PC. Or just install (import) it within the already existing version. For the installer, you can install it from: https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-installer.html For help see: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Installer/_inst_install_setups_and_addons.html On PC 1, save the project as projectarchive (which will then include all the libraries and devices). Then extract this projectarchive on PC 2.

Post by julianramirez on Visu 4.9.1 auto-logon/login CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello everyone, I have been trying to test the auto-login feature that is advertised on the Release Notes since Visu 4.8: *Version: 4.8.0.0 Besides some bug fixes and improvements this version contains the following new functionality: Alarmmanagement: Possibility to raise alarms programmatically Use real time clock of IEC context Automatic login for WebVisu using Chrome "Sign in automatically"* I am using a personalized login Visualization, the User Management works, however, when ticking the checkbox that keeps the credentials stored, after I reload the page I still see that the user and password details are not filled in. I tried with the default Login Visu (Blue one), and still see the same behavior - VisuUserManagement.VUM_LoginVisualization - I've tried with Chrome and Edge. Thanks for your help

Post by infinitetool on No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi! I'm having trouble connecting to a device in Deploy Control SL. I'm able to see the device is available during a scan, and I can ping the device as well, but when I try to connect I get the message "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it". I've worked on this for hours including turning off the firewall on the device PC but nothing seems to work. The device is running a fresh install of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise 2024 and the Development System is 3.5.21.50 running on Windows 11. Thank you in advance for any ideas!

Post by mascara on JOG continues in WCS ( SMC_GroupJog2 ) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'm using the SMC_GroupJog2 block from the SM3_Robotics library for manual movement of an AxisGroup in WCS coordinates. The observed behavior is: When pressing X+, the X-axis starts moving correctly. If I press Y+ during the movement, the block interrupts the current movement and starts a new movement in X and Y. If I release any button, all axes stop, even if another button is still pressed. Example: Pressing X+ → X moves Pressing X+ and Y+ → X stops momentarily and starts XY movement Releasing X+ while holding Y+ → all axes stop The expected behavior would be: to allow simultaneous continuous movement on multiple axes to not interrupt movement when another axis is added or removed. Is there a correct configuration of SMC_GroupJog2 to achieve this behavior, or is there another block more suitable for continuous manual jog in AxisGroup (WCS)?

Post by rau00 on Touch Probe 0x60B8 writting CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi erveyone, Rau here, first time asking on CODESYS Forge: When working with my servodrives, a special behaviour is required on dsp402 0x60B8 object, a control that is not supported by MC_TouchProbe. For this reason, I'd like to ask: Anyone knows if there is any way to bypass or change the softmotion axis writting into 0x60B8 object? My main problem is that MC_TouchProbe.TriggerInput.iTriggerNumber only allows to choose between TP 1 and TP 2 (not both at the same time). iTriggerNumber only allows values [0, 1, 2, 3], other values triggers an error in the FB, wether SMC_TP_COMM_ERROR for values [4, 5, 6, 7] and SMC_TRIGGER_OUT_OF_RANGE with any other value. Best regards, Guillem

Post by darwin03 on Mismatch between coordinate monitor and actual motion using SMC_GroupJog2, MC_MoveLinearAbsolute (6DOF) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Dear Georg, Thank you for your explanation about the axis scaling. I checked the scaling of Joint6 and corrected it so that one technical unit equals one angular degree. However, I am now facing another issue. When I move all axes to zero position and then try to use SMC_GroupJog2 and MC_MoveLinearAbsolute, I receive the error SMC_CP_CONFIGS_DIFFER I already tried moving each joint manually to different positions before executing the motion command, but the error still appears. Could you please explain: What exactly causes SMC_CP_CONFIGS_DIFFER Thank you very much for your support. Best regards, darwin03

Post by baotthitawat on SCADA Systems Are Becoming Easier to Integrate With Modern Applications CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
One thing I’ve been seeing recently is that more industrial systems are starting to expose realtime SCADA data through APIs instead of keeping everything isolated inside the local monitoring software. This makes integration much easier for cloud platforms, mobile dashboards, AI analytics, and enterprise applications that need realtime industrial data. Instead of exporting reports manually or building complicated middleware, APIs allow external systems to access SCADA data directly in realtime. I think this becomes especially useful for applications like wastewater treatment monitoring, where operators need better visibility into alarms, equipment status, and operational conditions across different locations. Feels like modern SCADA is slowly evolving from a standalone monitoring platform into part of a larger connected industrial ecosystem.

Post by afrazeh2026 on Curtis 1226BL Drive CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Subject: Curtis 1229-4105 CANopen (CiA 301 / CiA 402) Hello everyone, I am developing a battery-powered industry vehicle using a Curtis 1229-4105 motor controller together with a Siemens S7-1200 PLC and an HMS (Ixxat) CANopen Master. I am looking for someone who has practical experience with the Curtis 1229-4105 CANopen implementation. I would appreciate your help with the following questions: Does the Curtis 1229-4105 support only CANopen CiA 301, or does it also support CiA 402? Is an EDS file available for this controller? Is the CANopen Object Dictionary available? Has anyone successfully communicated with the Curtis 1229-4105 from a Siemens S7 PLC or another CANopen master? Are the CANopen PDOs and Object Dictionary based on the standard CiA profile, or are they Curtis-specific? Any documentation, examples, or practical experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Post by charly29160 on CmpCharDevice blocks gpiochip access on Raspberry Pi 5 since update from SP18 to SP21 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hallo Herr Schwellinger - Danke für die Info. Der Fehler besteht weiterhin: Follow-up: Rootless mode is not the cause here — verified with ps aux, the runtime binary runs as root: root 1974 48.9 0.7 854852 62140 ? SLl 13:00 0:04 /opt/codesys/bin/codesyscontrol.bin /etc/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl.cfg gpioinfo gpiochip0 as root also works flawlessly (all 54 lines listed correctly, no permission errors at the kernel level). So the block is happening purely inside CmpCharDevice's own sandboxing, not at the Linux/kernel permission level and not due to a dedicated unprivileged user. The correct config key to whitelist /dev/gpiochip0 for CmpCharDevice is still what I'm looking for. Im Voraus herzlichen Dank für Ihre Hilfe Karl Schuler

Post by kporter on Codesys EtherCAT Driver (CmpEt1000MPD) can't set MAC address CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
EtherCAT is a point-to-point protocol so it doesn't need a unique MAC address. It would be very useful to set the MAC address to 020000000000, the standard address for this kind of application. (The important bit is the 02 at the start of the address, which means locally-administered MAC.) The stock Windows driver can do this for my i210 card. But the CODESYS CmpEt1000MPD driver cannot. The image shows the setting with the Windows driver. If I set all my customers' cards to this address, then I don't need to deal with this when deploying my application. A simple PowerShell script can be used to set the MAC address once when the NIC is installed and the driver is changed.

Post by dvmaris on Control for Linux ARM64-User Management issue CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'm trying to work with Codesys Control for Linux ARM64 SL 4.18.0.0 on a Toradex Verdin NXP iMX8MP. I have the runtime installed and operational as well as Codemeter lite 8.40.7141.503 (arm64). I'm running 3.5.20.60 and when "Scan Network" I see the Verdin popup. When I try to connect to it, the "mandatory use of the user management" popup shows...which makes sense. I click YES and enter user information and click OK. It immediately displays a "No device is responding to the scan request" popup. The IDE can see the Verdin in the scan...so this popup does not make sense to me. I thought maybe it was a read only issue but I've made all partitions and paths RW. Has anyone experienced this? Can anyone tell me where it is trying to write user data?

Post by yannickasselin on Question about Demo License limitations for Modbus TCP communication and Fieldbus Instances CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
As far as I know, there is no other limitations than the 2 hours limit. The demo mode should be plenty enough for testing purposes. Regarding instances. In the device tree, 1 master = 1 instance, no matter how many slaves the master is communicating with. But it is also possible that your Codesys runtime act as a slave. In this case, each slave in the device tree is one instance. You can also use the license metric tool in the IDE. This will tell you exactly how many instances you have in your project. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_edt_device_licensed_software_metrics.html

Post by thierry-b on CODESYS device discovery performance in large networks (/16) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, We are using CODESYS 3.5 SP19.70 in an educational environment with several WAGO PFC200 controllers (CODESYS Runtime). Our campus network is currently configured as a /16, which creates a very large broadcast domain. We observe slow device discovery and long scan times when opening the network view. Before restructuring our architecture, we would like to know the recommended network practices for CODESYS: Recommended broadcast domain size for device discovery Possible impact of large networks (/16) on scan performance Usual recommendations (VLANs, /24 segmentation, etc.) Known limitations or points of attention in extended networks Any guidance or official recommendations would be very helpful. Thank you.

Post by rik123456 on Alarmmanagement – Dynamic Alarm List CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I had a question about alarm management in the CODESYS visualization. I am currently investigating to what extent the alarm visualization can be built dynamically. In my program, I have developed a motor block that is used for multiple motors. When the emergency stop of one or more motors is activated, the corresponding motors are displayed in the alarm list (see image). This works quite well. I achieved this by linking variables to a latch, after which a piece of code displays the motors that are in emergency stop. My question is: do I need to create a separate latch for each motor or can I use a single latch to display multiple alarms of a motor underneath each other? This would then look like this: Time…: M1 Emergency Stop Active Time…: M4 Emergency Stop Active
