I ordered a cheap managed switch and tested it as soon as I received the switch. It works great! I even went a bit further. As you can see in the screenshot, I created 2 Codesys containers. Each one having 2 fieldbuses. The first one has EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP and the second one has EtherCAT and Modbus/TCP. All going through the same ethernet port from the PC to the switch. The switch splits it up into 4 different networks. The hardest part was to figure out how to configure the switch. @eschwellinger, thank you very much.

When I create a new textlist in Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 5, it wont appear in the dropdown menu at Rectangle element > Dynamic texts > Text list. If I just type the name of the textlist to the field (in quotes), I get an error saying that some file is missing. Any good ideas what to do and what is going on. I recently updated to that version and I only now noticed this when I needed to add a new textlist so Im quite screwed with this not being able to add text lists. While im typing this, I tried copying an existing list and modifying it and it seems to show. Any ideas?

My guess is that's a STRING, not an INT type. And it's 128 bytes, not bits

Solved. Enable this feature by editing C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\Devices\89\0000 0005\4.4.0.0\device.xml (config params 9105 and 9106).

I explain the secuence: I have click in my project the option AUTOMATICALLY RESTARSLAVES In the moment start my Ipc, the network ethercat start correctly I disconnect the wire of my first slave and later connect again the wire..(see the screen Bug Codesys restart slave1) NO work the restart automatic slaves...and is not possible execute of FB MC_REset beacuause appear this error (see the screen Bug Codesys restart slave2) The only way for resolver this problem is execute the FB SMC3ReinitDrive I replay the same with PLC BECKHOFF in Twincat3 and I havent this problem...In the moment connect the wire again in the slave the comunication of ehterCat restart and the slave comunication again with out problem

I feel like this is a setting issue and I can't seem to find the right setting. I have a new project that I'm looking to add visualizations to however when I select my template size (1280 x 800) I make sure in my properties under the visualization tab, I have "Use specified visualization size" selected and my width set at 1280 and height set at 800. Now within my visualization editor I can't see to get the size outside of my template to grey out. I've attached a PDF showing what I'd like the visualization editor to look like and what mine currently looks like. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a visualization I'm working on with some rectangles and lines. When I simulate the program I get an Error and Message in my message box, "Error during Updating the Visualisation:" and "Overflow error." Any ideas on how to fix this? I only have 70 elements total for this visualization. I am using absolute movement for a few of the elements, would this cause the issue? The visualization seemed fine before I added these movement elements, but there is only 7 that move, that doesn't seem like it should over load the system. I am currently testing using simulation so I'm not sure if that has an effect either. I tried looking in the codesys help manual and couldn't find anything referencing this.

Hello, I am trying to connect to my PLC (IFM CR711S) via VPN(EWON COSY). I have been told to use Gateway SP14 or higher. I installed CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. In the Codesys Installer Software I can sleect "Set Gateway Service" and I do so for CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. I can start the Gateyay and select About and it shows: "CoDeSys Gateway V3 - x64 Version 3.5.20.40" (see attached) For compatibility reasons I have to run my PLC code in 3.5 SP11 and when I start I can first connect but then somehow the system restarts an older version of the Gateway only displaying: "CoDeSys Gateway V3" (see attached) I guess my question is how to run an old Cocesys Software with a new Gateway?

Hi pmanuele, while I don't have firsthand experience with the EL7041 and the step motor AS1060, there are two things you can check: If you use an external encoder, please make sure you use the alternative device description calles "EL7041 1Ch. Stepper motor output stage (50V, 5A) Rev24 with external Encoder". The SoftMotion driver will set the feedback type automatically, and use the correct object for the actual position (16#6010:21 instead of 16#6010:20) If you have problems with changing the controller mode, I assume to velocity, please make sure you change the PDO mapping so that the actual velocity (16#6020:33) and set velocity (16#7010:33) are mapped by PDO. Hi, When trying to activate a control Basic L license on a Wago PFC200 750-8203 the error The selected container ... does not fit your ticket comes up and won't allow licensing. I have deleted the /var/opt/codesys/cmact_license/ content 3 times and the container number changed each time after a reboot, but the problem persists. Not a happy first time experience with those weird application based licenses. IDE is 19.20. This was a e!Cockpit FW22 PLC and I used Deploy Control SL to make the green web interface red. WBM shows Codesys 2 and e!Runtime active which is a bit weird. What do I do now? Regards Heinz

@trusty-suire, The problem is not encoding. The problem is that codesys ands ' ' to the string. And the printer can't handle these character.
