Is there a way that I can create a variable in a GVL that I can control with logic but a user can not put a force on this variable. I have looked at the access rights but this seems to only limit editing the GVL or POU. This variable will only be assigned a value in one POU but it will be used throughout many other POUs.

Is it possible to get scroll bars to show when displaying a web visualization in V2.3? I've got some big pages that I can scroll around when using the in-built visualization but when they are displayed in IE i can't seem to scroll around. All I can do it drag the window bigger onto my other display to get access to the extra area. I've also tried zooming the page out in IE but this doesn't seem to work at all.

i know, this is the reason for us either. PLC-Handler is to big, and only available with additional Contracts/Costs. OPC-UA is to slow for us. As described, there is a solution available, but im not allowed to post them here. i would prefer you send a message at codesys store by "have a question" or similar called. Not sure. Or, if an Codesys-Official Member allows to share that informations, i can give you the right hints.

Hi mate, With this snippet i was able to see the lastusage variable count, but it would not iterate between clients? i was only able to access the data of the target visu. it threw an error with the array of pointers stating it was not able to convert etc. also when i tried it with the while loop it created an endless loop and crashed the program. any ideas? Hi guys, I have a textlist in my project which is working just as expected in a drop down list. I would like to move this text list to a sd card and access it from there, because I want to ease the editing of the contents of this textlist. I'm imagining a solution like the operator shuts down the plant, takes the sd card out, edits the textlist on the card with a windows machines notepad, then reinserts the card in the PLC and restarts the plant, having the new content of the textlist populating the dropdown list. I'm sorry that I'm asking you to spoonfeed me, but I did not find anything straightforward to do this... I saw in the Project>Project settings>Visualisation a relative path thingy, but I have the plant in operation and I would not like to make 100 trial and errors right now... I'm also not interested in SysLib file read commands and stuff, I would just like to access the file from the cards part, I don't want to replace its contents dynamically or such... nor I have language files or recipes... Using SDO, I can read the EtherCAT mappings and offsets from various registers like 0x1c12, 0x1c13, etc. When I obtain registers mapped in the PDOs and various offsets, I could technically access directly to the statusword, controlword, etc., if they are mapped. I have noticed that on IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag I can find pointers to the input and output buffers. However, although the input buffer can be easily read by referring to what has been obtained from the SDOs, it is not possible to write to the output buffer, as it is overwritten in each cycle by the data from the IOMapping task. Is there a way, knowing an instance of IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag, to obtain the pointer to the first data in the IOMapping? The offsets are identical to those of the PDOs, but obviously the data is a copy. For me, the cleanest thing would be to access the pointers on IOMapping, for DS402a devices to retrieve the key data and point them to internal references. I need to know this as, having developed our own motion library, I would like to simplify the initial setup by eliminating unnecessary and nonsensical mappings that can lead users to unnecessary errors. In the current version that we have been using for years, we have to map everything manually. I would like to pass only the slave reference to the FB_init constructors and eliminate the mapping.

We are working on a project and the customer required 3.5.16 BF4. After working on the project for a few weeks I opened it the next morning and it could not access libraries. IecVarAccess could not be accessed. I checked if windows updated - it did not. So no explanation for why it lost access other than that I shut down the computer for the night. Note that I am using a demo license. I still haven't figured out any reason to purchase a license. So I spent the next hour reinstalling CodeSys. Note that I did NOT uninstall first. After install I waited another 5 minutes for it to open the first time. I clicked File->Open to open the project. Previously I had selected File->Recent Projects - not sure if that makes and difference. But after this process it did open the project and compile it just fine. This is miserable. If this had happened when I went on site to a customer I would have lost hours of work doing the reinstall. Is there a different and quicker fix?

Hi, I need to accesss to project information of a referenced library in the project. At least I need the "Released" flag from these information to check that no project gets shipped with unreleased libraries. Unfortunally, I do not get this information by script. Solved (see comment) Setup: Kunbus RevPi Connect+ (a raspberry based PLC) Codesys runtime package: 4.5.0.0 (raspberry, armhf) based on Codesys V3.5.18.20 Edge Gateway: 4.5.0.0 (edgearmhf,armhf) EN: The edge-gateway was added over a year ago to the automation server. I now need to make a few changes to the Codesys software, but the Pi is not showing as online in the Automation Server. Internet connection is established, I have remote access to the Pi via RealVNC. Anyone have an idea how I can solve this? Some screenshots added. DE: Ich muss nun ein paar Änderungen an der Codesys-Software vornehmen, aber der Pi wird im Automation Server nicht als online angezeigt. Goodmorning, I would need to set a control station that can manage a PLC network. In short I need to access to all visu programmed in any PLC of the network (LAN). I was thinking to use a PLC with buttons that call, by mean an IP address, the visu of any PLC. I don't know if it is possible but I saw that there is a RemoteVisuTarget that run CODESYS Control Win V3. Can someone suggest me how to create a remote main control station from a normal PC? Hello, I am working on an application where I need to remap PDOs to a different CANopen object during runtime depending on what value is at a specific register. I have gotten to the point where I put the device into Preoperational State using the CIA405.NMT function. I then reconfigure the PDO 180x and 1a0x obejcts usings SDOs to point to a new canopen object on the device however when I go to restart the Device from PREOP to OP using the CIA405.NMT function the device is reset back to the original configuration as per the initial setup. I am wondering is there any way to change the PDOs at runtime is there some more functionaility I can access to do this. Any direction is appreciated!

In Windows I need create shared memory in PC software and connect from CODESYS. If shm is not GLOBAL doesn't work due different users between runtime and PC software. PC software need admin privileges. Name need "Global\\" before key. Very unsafe!!! If CODESYS create shared I cannot find key PC side. In Linux I can create shared memory as standard user, bind in the runtime docker, use keys without any "Global\\". Much more safe!!! If CODESYS create shared you need play with permissions to use app as standard user. I prefer create form PC software as standard user.

I am also having this issue. It was working fine for the first 2ish months and is now throwing this error. I can just try and go online again a second time and it works. I'm wondering if there is an environmental variable or something that isn't set that is causing it to use an empty path as a temp directory. The empty path will be the location the app is running from which is that path C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.19.50\CODESYS\Common. The permissions don't allow a normal user to write to that directory which causes the error. It also only seems to happen when there are changes or the build has been cleaned.

Are you using the Control Win SL (installed together with the development environment of CODESYS)? If yes, you might want to consider using the CODESYS RTE instead. This has real-time capabilities (running on separate core(s)). But to be able to use this, you have to install the CODESYS Ethernet driver for your network interface to be able to let the RTE access the network port also in realtime. Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to set up a FileTransfer function from a Webvisu to my Raspberry Pi 5 on Codesys 3.5 SP 19 Patch 6. I went in the files CODESYSControl.cfg and CODESYSControl_User.cfg and added : [CmpWebServerHandlerV3] AllowFileTransferServices=1 And it seems to be working. However, I cannot access my several Webvisu without putting my login. That's a problem because one of my webvisu is in kiosk mode on the raspberry itself and there is nokeyboard attached, it's just an information screen, but I can't view it. Is there a wey to enable the File Transfer without requiring to login ? Thank you for your time

I have a project made on a PL700 PLC with Codesys and an Asem Premium HMI panel. I don't have access to the physical PLC right now, so I'm trying to use Codesys Control Win V3 x64. I created the application and loaded "Codesys Control Win V3 x64" without errors, then I activate "Start PLC" from the tray. Asem cannot connect. I tried to use "localhost" or the local IP address and it doesn't work (it's the "CoDeSys Soft PLC Communication Driver"). I need to connect my local Asem runtime to a virtual Codesys application on my PC. How can I do it?

I'm having trouble finding clear answers on this. I'm looking for a way to make a Codesys project password protected so that if the project is distributed it can be used to log into a controller to view and debug logic. At this same time I want to prevent the project from being saved as well as edits being downloaded to the controller. Basically I want to make a whole project view-only. What is the beat way to achieve this? I have had minor success with access rights, which solves the problem with trying to login if the project doesn't match what is in the controller. However with this solution, edits can still be made and saved, possibly corrupting the core project, preventing future logins. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone, I'm encountering an issue in CODESYS regarding writing files to external paths. Despite correctly configuring the placeholder in the CODESYSControl_User.cfg file to allow access to an external folder, CODESYS doesn't seem to write any files, and no errors are reported. The issue on the older versions was absent with no placeholders. I've checked the operating system permissions, and they seem to be in order, but the issue remains. We establish the connection with OpenVPN Connect and can ping both controllers. We have a laptop that, most of the time, will allow Codesys connection to the controllers, but we have several other computers that are unable to connect, although all of them can ping successfully. We cannot find any difference in the configuration or software installed from one PC to another. If we connect to the router by WIFI, instead of VPN, all the computers work fine. We know that scanning the network will not work over a remote connection, so we input the controller IP directly. Has anyone had a simlar problem and can offer any hint on what to check to meke the connection run?

Hello everyone, I have a problem with the example project Responsive Design Example, which is available here in Codesys Forge. I wanted to try switching the visualization depending on the device type. To do this, I used a smartphone to access it. I can see via breakpoints that the Smartphone visualization is selected, but the visualization of the normal monitor still appears on the smartphone. Could there be a problem with the libraries, or why is the device not assigned the correct visualization page? I dont know how do further debuggin or troubleshooting.
