If support for a containerized CODESYS runtime with a license isn't feasible, then I've considered an alternative approach: I've purchased and activated a "CODESYS Control Basic S" license on my Windows notebook, where I already have the Codemeter Control Center installed. Upon activation, I can see the CODESYS license as active on my notebook. Subsequently, I followed the instructions provided in this link (https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/How+to%3A+Setup+a+Wibu+Network+Server+Access+for+Licenses) to configure the Wibu runtime in the CODESYS container to access my external license server hosted on my notebook by editing the CODESYSControl_User.cfg file accordingly. However, it's worth noting that I'm still receiving a response from the Licensing Manager indicating that the runtime is persistently searching for a dongle instead of recognizing the soft container. So how can I get my runtime licensed now? Any ideas?

I just installed codesys runtime on a raspberry pi Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz (Compute Module 4) I am running on Codesys control for raspberry pi 64 SL ver 4.13.0 and I keep getting a crash after about five to ten minutes. This program was running fine on a 32bit system with runtime 4.8 previously but they upgraded the panel PC cause it got smashed. Looking at the logs I see this error "ERROR: GetNetLinkSockAndInfoByMac(): could not open netlink socket: Too many open files" at the time of crash. I do have a UDP socket open for a serial to ethernet adapter and im wondering if maybe its opening a bunch of sockets and while receiving messages, Im not sending anything to the device only receiving. I don't have time to go through the whole manual but as I said earlier, the servo drive does not support any of the modes needed for SoftMotion Light to work. If you want to use the full SoftMotion, you could use SMC_Homing function block to do the homing. This function block does not use the Homing Mode. It still uses the CSP mode and does the logic in Codesys runtime instead of in the servo drive. Read the documentation about it to see if it fits your needs. But if your controller only supports SoftMotion Light, I am afraid you will not be able to use the i950. I do a lot of motion stuff with different servo brands. Some support all the modes needed for SoftMotion Light and some don't. You really need to make sure the modes are supported before choosing a brand over another. I tend not to use brand specific controllers in order not to be limited by their supported features. I usually choose a PC (Linux or Windows) and install the Codesys runtime and licences myself. This is the most flexible way to use Codesys in my opinion. Depending on how many axes are needed in your project, a full SoftMotion license may not be more expensive than SoftMotion Light because SoftMotion is available as Application based license whereas SoftMotion Light is not. But of course, SoftMotion is harder on the CPU than SoftMotion Light.

I am in the process of getting a visualization to work with the codesys keyboard. I created a custom keyboard which works fantastic for all input fields in the main visualization. I created a user management for my runtime, which gave me the standard blue login page. The codesys keyboard does not show up when trying to enter the usernam or password. I have tried every setting: changing the keyboard back to the standard codesys keyboard, and changing various settings on the visualization manager with no success. I can only use a physical keyboard connected to the device to enter the password. I did try removing the keyboard to no success either. I even tried creating my own login page so I could guarantee the keyboard showed up. This ended in disaster as I could not figure out the very complicated VisuUserManagement and VisuUserManagementDialog library, and documentation is contradictory or lacking. I imagine that an on screen keyboard is essential for many people's projects when using touchscreen panels, so I am wondering what others are doing. I would rather not use an external virtual keyboard (external to codesys) because this causes its own complications (I am working on a linux build with high securities).

hi, anyone else having trouble with opc ua in codesys sp20? i get Error 'BadIdentityTokenInvalid' was returned during ActivateSession i have tried both windows x64 runtime and linux runtime. i have created a completely new codesys project for this. in each of them i have only added the symbol configuration and selected one tag. i have tried several opc ua client, like ua expert, nodejs and python. all return Error 'BadIdentityTokenInvalid' was returned during ActivateSession so the problem must be the opc ua server.

The RTE will take the RTE license. The HMI will take the HMI license. For the Application Based Licenses, the Runtime will take the smallest which is required. So if you have an application running EtherCAT and no visualization, only the Control with support for EtherCAT is used. If you have another runtime which requires the visualization, it will take the smallest Control license which is required and available + the smallest visualization license which is required.

Hello eschwellinger, Thanks for your answer, with this I was finally able to make it work by doing the following : install CODESYS Control for Linux ARM SL v4.13.0 uninstall CODESYS Control for Linux ARM SL v4.13.0 and make sure to select "yes" when prompted to uninstall WIBU CodeMeter Lite Runtime (v8.10.6230.501) re-install "CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL" v4.13.0 It looks like the issue was probably related to the CodeMeter Runtime ? I need to be able to update (change) the interface of an IO-Link device at runtime. The reason is the connected sensor can be selected at runtime, and some sensors we use have a 2 byte IN interface, others have a 4 byte IN interface, others 16 byte IN, others 16 byte IN/OUT (see attached screenshot). Is it possible at all? When yes, which function should I use? Thank you!

Hi, With the new Runtime Based User Management, is there any way for WebVisu clients to be logged in to a default user automatically - no login prompt? I would like for the default user to be able to perform normal operation of the machine, without logging in to the WebVisu. This is possible with the Legacy User Management. For the Runtime based user management, there seems to be a default user for the TargetVisu - but not for the WebVisu. -Bjarne

I just try to help. Anyway it is a big difference if a Store SL runtime or an oem plc and licence is used. These licenses need to be activated on plc side - so you have dependencies to the version (CODESYS and Runtime Version) Did you ever ask Epis out for this situation? They should know which license fit to their device. Even they should know if the device is capable for Softmotion and see the requiremnts in the CODESYS store: Runtime 4.9.0.0 - how should this work with Epis 3.5.16.x? Anyway refund is not a problem.

Hello I'm using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6 and a Raspberry PI 5 4GB Bookworm 32bit with the Runtime 4.11.0.0 SL. I can install the runtime and download the software completly but after a few seconds the connection disconnects with the message no connection to device. Please scan network again. And the object reference was not set to an object instance. See screenshot. Can somebody help me with that? Thanks

Hi I was wondering if there's a pattern I can employ to acheive what you're doing but with a "reference to" and also allowing for online changes? Someone told me that the new beckhoff keeps references safe during online changes but all the documentation I've found suggests that's not the case. The easiest thing is to use fb_init for normal vars and pointers and references can be added in the function body every cycle and this allows for method calls after so far as I can tell.

I am trying to use FB Factory (to dynamically create FB), I am looking for documentation the only thing I found is this page: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/CAA%20FB%20Factory/3.5.17.0/Factory/fld-Factory.html I am trying to find the examples, I search on the installed folder, I have the impression that it is no longer installed as part of the CODESYS installation. Where can I find it?

Hi All, for my robotics application we are building a 2-axis parallel scara using the kin_bipod_rotary kinematics. Codesys implemented limits of [-90°, 90°] according to the documentation: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/SM3_Transformation/Current/SM3_Transformation/Function-Blocks/Positioning-Kinematics/Parallel-Systems/Kin_Bipod_Rotary.html Would it be possible to overrule these limits somehow, our mechanical limits are more in the range of [-110°, 135°] In this range we also don't encounter point where singularity is an issue.
