Hello All, Hopefully I can get some help configuring an OPC UA subscriber in a CODESYS runtime in a Raspberry Pi 5 that tries to retrieve data from an OPC UA publisher (in this case running in a TwinCAT system). I tried to follow the steps described in the page to implement the OPC UA subscriber: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_opcua_pubsub.html Seems that the example provided was created with version 3.5.16.0. Now with version 3.5.20.20 is not possible to open the complete project neither convert it. Anyway, after configuring all IPs and ports used in the OPC UA connection function block but the connection state always shows DISABLED. Can someone help me to do the proper configuration of the OPC UA subscriber? Many thanks in advance.

In the past, we have routinely used the "add all instance paths" function to automatically add variables to VAR_CONFIG lists. My recollection is that compiling a project did not require VAR_CONFIG to be fully populated, and, once successfully compiled, instance paths could be added. Errors related to missing declarations, if I recall correctly, were thrown when downloading to the PLC, they did not prevent a successful compile. At some point, it stopped working. Missing declarations in a VAR_CONFIG now cause a compile error, so the application is never "current", the only reason I can see being the missing VAR_CONFIG declarations themselves (no other error). We observe the same behavior across all our projects. This is really aggravating, and I must be missing something simple. We use 3.5 SP17p3, 64 bits. Can anyone help?

Dear Forum, We are currently switching to a native Codesys controller, and I'm currently trying to determine the correct license. I have a question regarding the Modbus instances. With the Standard S license this is set to 4 (See picture). In our projects we are using a lot of communications to Modbus servers using a Codesys Controller, for this communication I'm using the ModbusFB library (supplied by 3S) (see picture). In my project I would like to use more than 4 instances of the ClientTCP FB. My question is, is this now capped at 4 possible connections with the standard S license. Or do these function blocks have a different relation with the license? Some clarity on this topic would be very welcome. Thank you in advance

Hello, I am using a Hitachi Micro EHV+ for a small project, and I wanted to have a Web visu, done with Codesys V3.5 SP13 Patch 2. I test the Visu screen and it works well in Codesys, but I get a blank page when i enter the web visu in a browser. Here is the setting under web visualization: Update rate (ms): 5000 (previously set to 2500 also not working) Default communication size: 100000 (previously set to 50000 also not working) Under Visu_Task tab: Priority: 3 The Visu_Task interval is set to 2500ms (previously set to 200ms also not working) I'm using Google chrome with the latest update, the Javascript is enabled with HTML5. Any advice?

I'm currently reworking the controls on a cnc press brake and wanted to load various recipes as programs to run. I'm using a 2d array of REALs to store the X and Y coordinates as well as some other program parameters in a recipe. I'd like to store all of the recipes on a computer used as the HMI that way the text files can be edited and uploaded offline. I'm using Automation Directs P2CDS-622 Can this be done through webvisu? If not would a license for Codesys HMI SL on the computer allow me to accomplish this? I've attached the Project File Thanks, Spice

Hi All, I'm trying to develop a multi-application project that allows me to switch between applications. I currently have a parent application and several child applications, as this is the only way for them to share CAN/Ethernet communication. I've noticed that I am only able to create an Alarm Configuration for the parent application. But the children application do not seem to be displaying alarms on the Alarm Table in the visualisation for when an alarm is raised. Does anyone know of a fix, solution or a way around this? I am utilising Codesys v3.5 SP16 Patch 5 64Bit

Codesys 3.5 17.30, plc - crevis GN-9373. I need to use RTC of pls for write in registers (need to check difference of writen 100 and 200 registers). For this i try to use SysTimeRtc (SysTimeRtc.SysTimeRtcGet) but its not working. After it i tryed to use SysTimeGetMs and something like this but still not working. Library? Mb but check project, SysTime with SysTimeRtc already, all what i know - already is here. Its my first try to learn ST (early used fbd and ladder, yeah), pls help with it. Mb problem with a syntaxis, but im not sure.

I have followed the standard procedures and used the appropriate file handling functions, but the file is not being created or saved as expected. I know I'm thinking about this wrong -- too many decades of procedural and event-driven programming and only a few months of PLC ST programming...... I've created a visualization with a button that when pushed calls a method. I want the method to take a pressure reading, wait one minute and then take another pressure reading. I'm looking for leaks. I'm using TON for the delay. It seems like what is happening is that the method gets called once and it takes the first reading and starts the TON. But then execution continues, leaves that method call, and the second reading never happens. I can force the method to keep running until the whole thing is done with a While loop, but I understand that is considered BAD in PLC programming. If it push the button again to call the method again, it picks up where it left off and if the timer is complete then it runs the remaining code. How do I keep that method running until it is complete with just one call without using a while loop that ties up the PLC for a minute? Thanks! -Farren

Before this upgrade all worked fine. Hi all, i am encounter a mystery problem with a build with rexroth drives at my work. At my company we are make a machine with two Rexroth Indradrives . The two drives are goes by ethercat protocol . To be more specific i am going from my plc to the Beckoff El1100 coupler and after to the first drive and from the first drive to the second. The second drive works with no problem but the first(motor) sometimes without any pattern start to make a mysterious noise like stop and suddenly goes on again. If i couldn't hear the noise from the motor i couldn't Imagine that this happen. After a lot of research i see that sometime i have some strange zeros from the drive to the plc? Really i am in a deadlock and I don't know how to continue. From the other side the values on the other drive(second)are stable . Hi I'm automation engineering student and I'm not yet quite familiar with CAN-bus. What I am trying to achieve, to send two byte message via CAN from Epec display to Scott Drive inverter. I'm using code template made with Epec Multitool in Codesys 3.5 Problem i'm facing is that drive responds with same COB-ID. In multitool, you can create TPDO/RPDO. And depending on that, display either sends or only receives. This is problem, because for parameter polling from drive, you need to send two byte request to 0x399 and drive responds with eight bytes. If request is longer, drive don't respond. 0x399 is currently setted as RPDO, so display doesn't send anything on startup and I made program that sends messages to 0x399 bytes 0 and 1 and bytes 3-7 are shown in display. If setted as TPDO, display send all eight bytes and therefor drive cannot respond. But, I think because they are defined as RPDO, display won't send message, although monitoring with Codesys, values are changed. Question is, how should COB-ID be configured in Codesys, so it wouldn't automatically start to send message but would send when needed?

Good morning, I'm new on Codesys Forge, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk about my problem. When I open my WebVisu pages with Microsoft Edge, or Chrome, the background and also some rectangles blinking without reason!!! The application is developed with Codesys 3.5.17.10 and run on Codesys HMI, same version (3.5.17.10). After several experiments I discover that the problem happens when I made dynamic the "End of area" property of a meter object, but I can't understand why this blinking problem happens. Also, the problem is only at the WebVisu page, the "normal" VISU pages (the ones opened when Codesys HMI start) work always perfectly. Another strange thing is that the problem happens only if on the same page, where there is the meter object, there is also a trend object!?!? Codesys HMI is running on a Virtual Machine (VMware Workstation 15 player, v.15.5.6) running Windows 10 Pro N 64-bit. The blinking problem happen also if I convert the project to Codesys 3.5.20.0. This version of Codesys and Codesys HMI are installed on a Virtual Machine running Windows Server 2019 Standard 64-bit. In attachment the archive of my project. The attached project has only one page, if "Enable Counter" is not pressed the "End of area" variable of the meter is not updated in the software, and everything work well, normal VISU and WebVisu; if "Enable Counter" is pressed, the "End of area" variable of the meter is updated in the software, and the WebVisu page start blinking. I tried also to enable the "Support client animations and overlay..." property at VisualizationManager, this seems stop the blinking problem, but that property also destroy my WebPage, moving almost all the graphical object, that also seem not working anymore. I really need help to understand what I'm doing wrong, I have to develop a bigger project and I have to understand if trend objects and animated meters cannot stay in the same page. In the final project the WebVisu will be very important because the customer will use this way to access the application to monitor the process. Regards

Hi All, I use the analysis page in automation server to capture historical trends from my PLC - i only sample one point per hour but it does the job (for now) One issue I have is I often log on to analysis page to find the system has stopped recording trends from my PLC. To fix this, I need to choose "state information" in the "List view" under PLC and click "Reconnect" When I do this I see my variables listed under "parameters" under "PLC Details" start updating again and the trend in Data analyzer continues to update. My Question, Why do I need to manually reconnect? Is there a way to get automation server to automatically reconnect to the PLC so I continue to capture data from the PLC? Regards, Trent

Hi all! I'm working on an home project using a Raspberry Pi 3 device with Codesys for Raspberry Pi 64 SL runtime. I would like to create the HMI interface with Siemens WinCC Unified (or Advanced) configuring the Raspberry as OPC UA server. I tryed everything, but I didn't find the way to let the OPC UA connection works using UaExpert. I tryed to use anonymous connection, authenticated connection and the ip address instead of the server name in the path connection. There is no way to connect to the OPC UA server and I was asking myself if this feature is really supported for the runtime version used. Another strange thing I noted, is that is not possible to quickly create an OPC UA certificate in the Security Screen, as show in any tutorials. I have correctly created the Symbol Configuration enabling the OPC UA feature. I attach to this topic some printscreen of the actual configuration (sorry for the italian language interface, but I didn't find the way to switch to english).
