Hello That's certainly CiA402. I'll attach a part of the manual for my servos, but the state diagram should be the same at yours. To be sure, get one from your manufacturer. Look at the bits in the StatusWord to see where you are in the diagram, then twiddle the bits in the ControlWord to get you to the next step. Then there are other bits in the StatusWord to tell you 'InPosition' and things like that. From the screenshot, as it mentions only 'PositionProfile' the driver will create the motion profile. So you need to put a target position in here - there should be profile velocity somewhere? Possibly, you need to write these with SDO's? At the minimum, you need to write a value to 0x6081, 0x6083 and 0x6084 (velocity, accel, decel)

Hi, I am running my application on device based on Compute Module 4S (Cortex-A72 (ARMv8) 64-bit ). On this device I installed RPi Runtime in 4.11.0.0 version. In my project I use device: Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi 64SL and my project works, but I actually do not have acces to all GPIO's , because GPIOs Compute Module is available only in 3.5.16.0 version and it doesn't work. Properly work GPIOs B+/Pi2 but using this device I do not have acces to all GPIO's in CM4S. Anyone of can tell me how add GPIOs Compute Module 4.11.0.0 to my project ?

Sorry for being late to the party... so it is not possible to use the webbrowser tool to display external websites in a visu anymore? As it is not possible to simply "adjust the ContentSecurityPolicyIncludeTrustedOrigins setting in the automatically generated webvisu.cfg.json file" as stated in the docs? We need to display data read from a Raspberry Pi (part of our computer network) in our webvisu. We used to do it by entering the Pi's IP address as the URL variable in the webbrowser element but now (I don't know since when, I'm new on the job) "The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource (frame-src) at 'IP address' because it violates the following directive: “default-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline'”. What are the options for displaying the data?

Hello All! Having a strange issue. When adding a library, I'm unable to search. Each time a window pops up 'creating the search index' and then has 0 results. I have the same behavior when using the library repository and pressing the 'Find' button. I wonder if there is a way to reset or fix this issue? I can confirm that at my 4ms EtherCAT Master the frames per second is equal at round about 500 with Codesys SP19. The same program at SP16 it was at 380-430 f/sec. for me it will be interesting too, whats the reason is for this high frame count/sec? I havn't had the time to use a paket sniffer and analyse all the frames. I can't help with your other questions, sorry.

For some time I used one from an Italian company where they had made a library where you can manage the ip with a function (something like SetIPAddr...), it was based on connmann on linux. From my little experience is better to use the "default" way, so for me is to manage the config file on interfaces or use the ip addr utility

It used to be controlled by variable using "Switch frame variable". However, I realise it will change all the HMI screen at one time. If you use 3.5 SP10, then Git is not supported. SVN will work fine, but with this version you do need a USB key, because software licenses are not supported with this version. Off course you can work without SVN (or Git), but especially if you work with multiple developers on one project, it will save you a lot of time and you can keep track of all changes and improvements much easier. So how much is this worth to you?

If you want to test your PLC project, please use a Codesys Control Softmotion (and your computer must have the Ethercat driver installed) or much easier, download your code into the C6 Smart. BR

However, the main problem is backward compatibility and consistency across projects. In many automation projects, application developers rely on the fact that creating a new axis object will behave exactly the same way as in previous versions. With SoftMotion V4.18.0.0 and later, if an application developer adds an axis and overlooks the changed default, the motion function blocks behave differently than expected. In particular, since the Jerk value in SM3_Basic function blocks is ineffective in trapezoid ramp type, users are accustomed to leaving this parameter empty in their projects. In many existing projects, this variable has not even been assigned. When the default is changed to quadratic, the Jerk parameter suddenly becomes relevant, which can cause errors or unexpected behaviour in the field. From a user perspective, a default setting should always be the “safe” and “expected” option, while alternative options (like quadratic) can be selected manually if desired. Keeping the default as trapezoid ensures compatibility with existing projects and prevents unexpected issues, while still allowing users to benefit from quadratic ramps if they explicitly choose so. For these reasons, I kindly ask you to reconsider making trapezoid the default again. This would significantly reduce the risk of unexpected behaviour in future projects while still preserving the advantages of the quadratic ramp type for those who actively select it. I've trimmed down the CAA Serial Codesys example to only listen on one port but, when stepping through the Case structure in debug mode, it jumps out of the structure during a specific point in every scan (I'll point it out below after describing the setup and listing the code). I'm using a Pi 4 Model B, and I have an Arduino Nano Every plugged in via USB which is streaming the following serial message at 1 Hz: Time since opening connection: 1 s Time since opening connection: 2 s ...and so on. I'm forcing xStartTest:=TRUE every scan so that I can step into each line and observe what's happening. What I see is that the port parameters are set and the port is opened with no errors, but the code jumps out of the case structure to the last line every time it reaches (and I step into) the iState:=15 line (at the end of the iState:=0 block). So every scan cycle it goes through the block for iState=0 and jumps out at the same spot. I'm a little new to PLC programming so I may be misunderstanding the flow, but shouldn't this case structure keep moving down in the same scan? If it only handles one case per scan, why doesn't the value of iState persist? Thanks! Update: I restarted the Codesys control today and I was then able to see an error for como1.eError of "WRONG_PARAMETER". I tried doing some digging and another post made me think I should add another line to CODESYSControl_User.cfg, so I now have: [SysCom] Linux.Devicefile=/dev/ttyACM portnum := COM.SysCom.SYS_COMPORT1 So now when I set .udiPort to 1, I get "NO_ERROR" but I also don't read anything from the port (i.e. szRead = 0 always). If I try setting the port to 0 (which I'm confused about, because I added a COMPORT1 line but the device shows on the Pi as ACM0), I get the "WRONG_PARAMETER" error again. Is there an easier way to troubleshoot the Pi and view what ports the Codesys runtime is actually able to see while the Pi is running?

Hello, I am facing a problem with the new Softmotion 4.17.0.0 version. Has anyone encountered a similar problem, what is the solution? I would be happy if you could share it. Problem description: -- "SMC_FreeEncoder" encoder axis is the master, -- The motor of the servo driver on the EtherCAT bus is the slave axis. -- When the MC_CamIn block executed, the InSync output is activated. However, although the master encoder axis position value changes, there is no movement in the slave servo axis! Test steps: 1-) EtherCAT servo axis installed, configured and motion test was performed with MC_Jog. No problem. 2-) Softmotion general axis pool > SMC_FreeEncoder was added and pulse amount configuration was performed. No problem. 3-) Incremental encoder actual count value was transferred to the "SMC_FreeEncoder.diEncoderPosition" variable as DINT under the ethercat task in every cycle and the encoder axis position value was observed. No problem. 4-) A simple CAM table with a 1:1 ratio was created under the project tree. Hi All I was watching the Wago PFC300 webinar ( https://www.wago.com/global/lp-thank-you-onlineseminar-pfc-300 ), and the presenters comment about priority 1 being way above the Ethernet task priority, so that a priority 1 PLC program can actually loose SCADA connection, made me try to round up some hard evidence on Codesys Priorities. I find there is very little information on "correct" task priority configuration. It uses OPC UA for communication to SCADA, maybe some MODBUS-RTU and MODBUS-TCP, usually around 100 I/O, been running with everything in a single task at priority 1, 50-100ms cycle time. Some controllers have separate MODBUS tasks, but doesn't seem like a big difference. How would you recommend splitting up communication, IO fieldbus and programs into differently prioritized tasks? I know its a complex matter and all about my application, but I really miss there was just some kind of guidance in the documentations and with all new standard Codesys programs having priority 1 as default, makes it seem less important, than it really is.

Hello, I am new to Codesys and PLC programming in general (please go easy ha!) I'm not looking for code to be written for me just some help and pointing in the right direction. I am writing some code to send commands to a relay based on input values (to put it simply). Quite basic stuff. I have wrote a function block that takes a global variable (Open_command:BOOL) and outputs to another global variable (Opened : BOOL). The function block is simulating a device so I'll eventually get the globals from that. I now need to create multiple versions of this function block/ device (lets say 100) but I need each iteration of that function block to reference it's own relevant global variable. I think that the best way of doing this would be to use arrays, although I could be wrong. I am aware that for up to 100 instances I could very well manually assign everything but that seems rather time consuming and I want a fancier way of doing it. Here is a very basic example of what I am looking to do, please note I have not written this in proper code it's just to show what I mean. Global Variables V[0-100] int Open_command [0-100] Bool Opened [0-100] Bool Function Block var input x : BOOL Var output y : BOOL if x then y = TRUE ELSE y = FALSE The input to my function block will be Open_command, output will be Opened Example code. If V[x] > 10 then Open_command [x] = TRUE ELSE Open_command [x] = FALSE (So when V1 goes above 10 I need Open_command1 = TRUE therefore initiating FB1 output. V2 > 10, open_command2 = True > FB2 output V3 > 10, open_command3 = True > FB3 output ... ... ) What I can't seem to figure out is how to tie all this together, I have read through the codesys documentation and if anything it has confused me more! ha. Hi! I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I have tried looking up previous topics regaring this, but even though I'm following tutorials and other posts I cant seem to get this to work consistently. I actually got the connection established on a test project after some trial and error. I only got it to work with the "Anonymous login". But after i deleted the test project and tried to get the same thing to work on another project I cant get it to work anymore. What I'm trying to do: Set up and OPC UA Server using CODESYS with the free soft PLC. I then try to connect to the OPC UA Server with the program "UaExpert". What happens: I get the error Error "'BadUserAccessDenied' was returned during ActivateSession". What I have done in CODESYS: - Added the object "Symbol configuration" and checked some test variables - Checked "Support OPC UA features - In "Communication settings -> device -> Change runtime security policy" I have checked "Allow anonymous login" What I have done in UAExpert: - Found the OPC UA server under "local". (It is showing two servers though, I do not know why. It showed the same when it worked yesterday). Se attachment - Checked "Anonymous" under "Authentication settings in the OPC UA server. I'm new to CODESYS, so it could be something elementary wrong in my settings. Maybe something in the user settings in CODESYS regarding user rights or something?

Hello, I'm using Codesys V3.5 SP18 Patch 4. In the ElementCollectionExample Project from Codesys, I test the SimpleQueueExample in a Control Win V3 x64 environment. I try to add a string of 95 characters length to a queue. The default length of strings is defined as 80 characters. In the initialization of a string variable, it is possible to increase the length by the definition of e.g. STRING(1000). But when I write the string defined like this to the queue, only 80 characters are written to it and the rest is missing. I think the default length is still set in the queue definition, so it is necessary to change this, isn't it? Is there any option to increase the default length of strings in the queue? My topic is more of academic nature, I would like to implement an XOR-operation with four inputs on my own (without the predefined XOR-operator) in a function block diagram (FBD). I have two proposals. One works fine and the other one is just an idea, but I do not know, if it is possible to code it in CODESYS V3.5 SP18 in form of a FBD. Here the one that works: And here an idea, which I have not managed to code it as an FBD: Any ideas? Is the 2nd diagram a correct interpretation of the coding task? And is there a way to implement it in form of an FBD in CODESYS V3.5 SP18? Followup (08-Nov-2024): Also in the current version of CODESYS (V3.5SP20Patch3) I have not managed to connect the existing blocks. In the alternative SPS-IDE PLCnext Engineer it is possible.
