Hey Everyone, I'm having a bit of a struggle finding settings that will reliably maintain a connection between the webvisu and a touchscreen client. Every so often the HMI disconnects and will perpetually display the red spinning arrow with the "Error Happened, Will resume automatically" text. Power cycling the HMI to force a reconnect will re-establish comms. It seems to happen during periods of inactivity if that's a clue. From what I've gathered so far this seems to have something to do with the webvisu update rate, buffer size as well as the visu task scan rate. We first tried the default settings as follows: Webvisu Update Rate: 200 ms Webvisu Buffer Size: 50,000 Visu Task Scan Rate: 100 ms Priority 31 Other Tasks for Reference: Main Task Scan Rate: 100 ms Priority 1 Alarm Manager Scan Rate: 50 ms Priority 31 Ethercat Task: 4 ms Priority 1 This would disconnect some what regularly. We then made the following changes to try and stabilize: Webvisu Update Rate: 150 ms Webvisu Buffer Size: 75,000 Visu Task Scan Rate: 75 ms Kept other tasks the same. This seems to disconnect even more frequently. Also for reference the network is very small and only consists of the PLC, a small switch and the HMI. We're also not controlling frames from outside the visu program itself. The frame changes are all done natively. Any suggestions to get this to stop disconnecting? Oh and whatever the issue is the log does not record it. Figured I would ask here before opening a ticket. Thanks in advance for your help!

We are experiencing serious jitter issues on an ARM64 imx8. Until now, on rpi and beaglebone derivatives, and on Intel, we never encountered jitter issues unless they were already present on the device. In this case, as can be seen from the attached graph, we have excellent maximum latency. The cyclictest on the isolated core dedicated to IEC CODESYS tasks shows a latency of 37µs, with an average of 14µs. Usually, on all other devices, with an RT kernel, with the appropriate parameters to avoid frequency throttling, with properly managed IRQs, and with the disabling of large page sizes, the jitter measured by CODESYS is very close to the cyclictest latency. However, on this imx8, we are noticing a fluctuating value of +/- 300µs that seems to be added to this latency, as if something occasionally miscalculates the sleep times by exactly +/- 300µs. I guess that the printer expects to receive an array of byte values. So where it is described that it expects to receive: Hercules String : 1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04 it actually expects to receive an array of bytes with the values 1B,4F,51,30,30, etc. So what you can do is create an array of bytes and assign the byte value to each item in the array: VAR abyToSend : ARRAY[0..99] OF BYTE; END_VAR abyToSend[0] := 16#1B; // ASCII Escape character, hexadecimal representation uses 16# as prefix abyToSend[1] := 16#4F; // ASCII 'O' abyToSend[2] := 16#51; // ASCII 'Q' abyToSend[3] := 16#30; // ASCII '0' // you can do the rest yourself // maybe could be created a lot smarter, but gives you an indication how to handle this. Then with the serial communication (or TCP/IP?) you can send a message with the reference to the array (abyToSend) and the number of bytes to send (15 bytes for the string you gave as example).

Hello, I would like to implement RS232 communication into CODESYS Control RTE V3. I was writing the program testing it on CODESYS Control Win V3, where it worked fine. When I changed it to RTE, the communication was on, but I cannot send the data between PLC and scale - there is no or little response from scale - mostly one time receive and that is it. On Win V3 it was working fine. I read that I am supposed to configure CODESYSControl file for a proper communication using RTE, but even after that I can not get a stable and working communication. I am attaching my CODESYSControl and CODESYSControlUser data below, as well as I am sending the code from communication function. The communication should be through COM1 port of PC. CODESYS Version: CODESYS V3.5 SP21 + (64-bit) Runtime + Version: CODESYS Control RTE V3 Version 3.5.21.0 / CODESYS Gateway V3 - x64 Version 2.5.21.0 I would be much gratefull for any help. Sincerely,

Hi, I'm trying to monitor a specific PGN which I have it sending a pulse every 500mS Problem: Using the Watchdog for the ECU does not really help me as I have multiple instances with separate PGNs, if a PGN goes ghost, the ECU watchdog won't be flagged as the others will be running. Hey guys, I am trying to write a JSON. First time after login in PLC after download everthing works. But when I want to change values during runtime and try to recreate the JSON nothing happens. When forcing the xStart as an impulse i want to recreate it and see 2 as Key3 instead of 1 from the first run. Any Idea how to make this work? Colleagues, i have the same problems. At the current time, I have to use the new version of the Codesys (3.5.20.10) + Control for Linux SL 4.11.0.0, but it works unstable : theree are a lot of freezes and not-respondings. I tested this on different projects: those that were created in the current version of the project, and those that were migrated from other versions of the development environment. Compiling a project without connecting to a controller is fast enough. The first downloading of the code into the controller, too. But as soon as you need to make edits and download a new code problems begin. Codesys "freezes" at the "Generation code" stage for 15-20 minutes. And only after that time loads the code into the controller. Previously, we used version 3.5.17.60 + Control for Linux SL 4.7.0.0. The process took 1-2 minutes. Do you have any ideas how can i fix it? I will be grateful for your answers.

Hello! Raspberry pi 2b just is getting a bit slow so decided to go for a Raspberry 5. Project is now upgraded to suit Pi 64 SL... so, now although everything runs perfectly... for some reason my trends will not save! its driving me nuts... ^Tried merging tasks with main program & trends ^tried re-prioritizing tasks (shifting 1 - 31 etc) ^Recreated the Trend Recording manager from scratch ^Tried swapping persisitant vars to GVL Retains then non-retains... (Project attached is as per before trial&error) Raspberry Pi 2b still runs "perfectly" though its very chuggy (Still saves the trends, note this is of an pretty much identical project minus the device compatibility) Does anyone have any advice to offer? project attached.... I feel it could be outside of Codesys itself causing the issues, but cant see/find anything on the internet to assist (or anyone else with the same problem as me...) Can attach project in another format (non archive) any assistance is much appreciated!

I am trying to generate a JSON payload populated with a value that updates for use with a telemetry system, the payload is to be published by MQTT. I have established the MQTT client and can publish a working JSON payload but I can't get the payload to update as the value (iValue) changes. I am using a timer to trigger the .SetValue function periodically, but the JSON will only give the value as it is when it is first initialized using xFirst IF statement. Any suggestions? I included the stub files of scriptengine (codesys python api) in a directory scriptengine of a project. I tried to include librarymanager like that: from scriptengine import librarymanager visual studio code detected an error. It said librarmanager could not be found. Indeed in the stub file, this was library_manager. But if I change it in my code, the plugin doesn t work anymore. I found an easy solution to this problem. I ve just changed the copied stub files.(library_manager -> librarymanager) But I think it would be better if you update it yourself in the future.

Hi Tim. Not quite correct. What i'd like, is when you place the FB in prog, i choose a block NTC10k, and name this RT401. What i'm trying to do, is to get the name RT401 automaticly into the FB, so i can put this into the string i pass in a struct. So in var in POU, i saw this a place i could do this, RT401: NTC10k(Tag:='RT401'), but i can't get this to work. I shurly must have had something like this in FB: FUNCTION_BLOCK NTC10k String TAG But it's here where I'm stuck...

RS485 doesn't seem very logical to use in VPLC's in my opinion. I also don't know if this is supported.... But for TCP/IP, I think you still need to configure the Nic settings. See the attached png. In my case enp6s0. When changing this setting, restart the VPLC. What is really nice, is that you don't have to configure the IP address setting in Linux. By setting the Nic to a certain IP address in the CODESYS instance configuration, this is automatically done for you. I only tested this with EtherCAT, but I guess this works the same for Modbus TCP/IP.

I explain the secuence: I have click in my project the option AUTOMATICALLY RESTARSLAVES In the moment start my Ipc, the network ethercat start correctly I disconnect the wire of my first slave and later connect again the wire..(see the screen Bug Codesys restart slave1) NO work the restart automatic slaves...and is not possible execute of FB MC_REset beacuause appear this error (see the screen Bug Codesys restart slave2) The only way for resolver this problem is execute the FB SMC3ReinitDrive I replay the same with PLC BECKHOFF in Twincat3 and I havent this problem...In the moment connect the wire again in the slave the comunication of ehterCat restart and the slave comunication again with out problem
