I have a need to send messages between 2 PLCs and I cant use network variables (because of size limit) so I tried writing this simple test program. This seems to work fine. I can send messages back and forth when a first "Start server" and then "Connect client". See the attached image. However, if I disconnect the client by setting ClientConnect to false and try to re-connect then the TCP_Client just gives me TIMEOUT error. When I stop and start the server again, then Im able to reconnect. How is this supposed to work? Why reconnecting wont work. There is not other way of disconnecting the client than setting xEnable of the TCP_Client to false. This is just a testing program and I will try it on 2 seperate devices once this works. Hello, I am new to Codesys and PLC programming in general (please go easy ha!) I'm not looking for code to be written for me just some help and pointing in the right direction. I am writing some code to send commands to a relay based on input values (to put it simply). Quite basic stuff. I have wrote a function block that takes a global variable (Open_command:BOOL) and outputs to another global variable (Opened : BOOL). The function block is simulating a device so I'll eventually get the globals from that. I now need to create multiple versions of this function block/ device (lets say 100) but I need each iteration of that function block to reference it's own relevant global variable. I think that the best way of doing this would be to use arrays, although I could be wrong. I am aware that for up to 100 instances I could very well manually assign everything but that seems rather time consuming and I want a fancier way of doing it. Here is a very basic example of what I am looking to do, please note I have not written this in proper code it's just to show what I mean. Global Variables V[0-100] int Open_command [0-100] Bool Opened [0-100] Bool Function Block var input x : BOOL Var output y : BOOL if x then y = TRUE ELSE y = FALSE The input to my function block will be Open_command, output will be Opened Example code. If V[x] > 10 then Open_command [x] = TRUE ELSE Open_command [x] = FALSE (So when V1 goes above 10 I need Open_command1 = TRUE therefore initiating FB1 output. V2 > 10, open_command2 = True > FB2 output V3 > 10, open_command3 = True > FB3 output ... ... ) What I can't seem to figure out is how to tie all this together, I have read through the codesys documentation and if anything it has confused me more! ha. I’m currently working on establishing a TLS connection with an MQTT broker using the MQTT Client SL package in CODESYS. While I’ve successfully established communication with the broker without TLS, I'm encountering issues when trying to enable TLS. In the 'MQTT Explorer' application, I can easily upload the server certificate (.crt), client certificate (.crt), and client key (.key). However, in CODESYS, I can’t find a way to upload my client key (.key file). Here's a summary of my current setup: Certificates: I have uploaded both the client and server certificates to the certificate store under the 'Trusted Certificates' folder in the security screen. TLS Context Initialization: Despite setting the _sCommonName as the name of my client certificate, a new self-signed certificate is created and placed within the device’s certificates. I then need to manually move this certificate to the trusted certificates folder. I have the directory right here: I need to correctly access the files in this folder through CODESYSControl.cfg. Here is my CODESYSControl.cfg where on the first lines there are a few lines: [SysFile] FilePath.1=/etc/, 3S.dat PlcLogicPrefix=1 That means that if I am going to use relative paths its going to go to from the PLCLogic directory right ? In my Router I can see it, I cann SSH into the PFC200 but it is not reachable. Hi all, for a deeper understanding of the Codesys RTE - I created a simple application with 3 IEC tasks (Ta,Tb,Tc) each with different priorities, and different cycle times. The application runs on Windows 10 in the Soft PLC CODESYS Control Win V3. If my understanding is correct, the RTE i.e. the Process CodesysControlService should spawn 3 threads (Th_a,Th_b,Th_c) which are executed with the defined cycle times, the priority of the threads should reflect the priority of the task set in the Codesys IDE. Does somebody have an idea, how I could identify the respective threads in Windows? Kind regards Andrej

Hello, I program a function for an Ethernet/IP controller. I made a structure with input and output corresponding with the map of my controller for the function block. My problem is that I don't know how to do the link between the controller and my PLC (CC 100 from Wago). The addresses declare in Codesys are illogic, The first addresses are 12 and 13 then 7 then 4. How to do corresponding the addresses of the controller and the input / output structure ? IP adress ? Does I must create the all variables of controller with the controller adresses to use with the function block ? Thanks for your help. (I hope I'm clear, I'm not english)

Hello, Up until yesterday (2023/11/20) I was able to connect to the PLC remotely with no issues through Edge Gateway. However, today I can see the Edge Gateway online but I can find the PLC even if I do a network scan. Following the same path as janber0206 @ https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/automation_server/thread/e78b11d7e9/, I looked into certificates and found that one of the Trusted publisher certificates has expired earlier today (2023/11/21). Please see image. Questions are: Does it affect the connection to the PLC through Edge Gateway? How do I fix it? Thank you very much in advance!

Hallo, bedingt durch einen Rechnerwechsel musste ich verschiedene Codesys-Versionen wieder neu installieren, bzw. habe mit dem Codesys-Installer beim Setup einer neuen Version Add-ons einer bestehenden Installation importiert. Nun möchte ich ein bestehendes Projekt, welches auf einem Zielgerät mit recht alter Runtime läuft öffnen, dabei kommt der error "C0510: The configured compilerversion '3.5.8.0' is not available in your installation". Auf dem alten Rechner wurde mit CODESYS V3.5 SP18 Patch 4 eben mit der Compilerversion 3.5.8.0 übersetzt, beim Erstellen des Projektarchives geht jedoch der Compiler nicht mit und so kommt es auf dem neuen Rechner mit der Installation V3.5 SP18 Patch 4 zu diesem error. Übersetze ich das Projekt mit dem aktuellen Compiler, kommt eine ganze Latte an Fehlermeldungen. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit die Compilerversion 3.5.8.0 in die Installation 3.5.18.4 zu bekommen? I made a FC that require a correct code to activate simulation to avoid unintended activation by service dept. When comissioned remove any possibility to activate simulation. Super when officetesting and supporting service dept. + cheap as it requires no additional equipment, and it is easier to support customer later on in the life cycle as you can test proposed changes without setting up a testlab.

I am using a Raspberry Pi 2B. Installed Codesys V3.5.20.1 64-bit and installed 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI 4.12.0.0' I am able to install the packages using the 'Update Raspberry Pi' option, but when I try to log into the RPi, in the Device tab it says 'Sacn fail. Please checl that the gateway is running and that its settings are correct'. My setup looks like this. I connected my RPi to my company LAN and also my laptop to company LAN (using HP Docking station). This setup worked when I installed 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI', but now I donot know how to configure the gateway. Could anyone please help me in finding what I have to enter in the gateway configuration? Thanks, Vamsi.

Has anyone been successful trying to use these tools? Here are my observed limitations. Am I misunderstanding anything? * Profiler only works for one "run cycle". Even warm resets will clear the coverage calculations. Thus, all tests would have to manually reset values when complete to prevent contamination to other tests. * It is not possible to see which statements were/weren't executed. One would have to use the flow control tool which cannot be used in conjunction with the Profiler, and must be viewed in realtime. * The profiler control cannot be automated and therefore must be executed through a manual procedure. In a recent project with SoftMotion 4.15.0.0, where I integrated two SD drives from CMZ (from catalogue EDS and not imported), on CANopen bus, I found that the SoftMotion MC_Reset function does not reset the drive faults. Even if the drive is in fault, either on the device or on the drive at the CoDeSys level, the function does not reset, instead reporting the error code: no error to reset. Finally, I had to connect the reset bit of the ControlWord directly to a tag in my program. Something I never had to do on other drives: Lexium, etc. all reset simply with MC_Reset.

Hi! What are the best practices for querying multiple Modbus devices? Single PRG or maybe multiple PRG (so basically multiple thread) per each Modbus device. In my current implementation I'm using single PRG and I'm utilizing FbMbMasterMultiQuerySerial and WagoAppPlcModbus.FbDigitalTwinMbSlaveDevice in eCockpit with PFC200. I've the timer with 2 seconds delay there and it was working fine for single device. But now I have three Modbus devices and for two of them I need to run 2/3 queries to get data from all registers. I noticed that the delays for getting the data from the Modbus devices is much bigger right now.

Hello, I was wondering if there is a way in codesys to exclude the traces from the search when using the "ctrl+F" window ? That would be nice to improve the search functionnality when looking for a specific variable. Sometimes when I iterate through all occurences with the "find next" button, it opens the trace configuration window. I would expect to be able to close it and go to the next occurence with the "find next" button, but after closing the trace configuration window the search says it has reached the end of the scope (even if in reality there are other occurences of the variable elsewhere). I tried to enable / disable the "search up" checkbox but it's not changing anything. I hope somebody have insight on this, BR

Why do you develop things like this? The workflow should be highly dependent on autocomplete, then if that's not super obvious browse to definition and everything is made clear possibly with the checking of a few types. The nature of how things are done makes me think these libraries aren't developed for general use and are actually internal or for partners. The example projects include objects that don't appear in autocomplete and then lead nowhere obvious when browsing. Do you consider developer workflow when creating these libraries? Are some libraries really for public use such as Visu Utils and others not? If so which? It's really hard to tell.

Hello, we have aproblen to connect our CODESYS OPC Client to the OPC Server. We installed the client according the CODESYS manual. We can browse the server and variables can be linked to the PLC. I created a self signed certificate for the CmpOPCUAClent as described. The server has a cerificate also. I copied the certificates to the trusted zone of server and client. But when it comes to data exchange we get an error message. "Communication error in data source OPC UA Library. Error ID : 7001 German : "Kommunikatinsfehler inder Datenquelle OPC UA -Bibiothek. Es wurde kein genauer Fehler angegeben. Fehler ID : 7001" It semms that there is no cerificate exchange. We are working with CODESYS 3.5 SP19 Patch 5. Can anyone here say something about this error or has an idea for a solution? Thanks.
