Hi everyone, I am still having device logon problem following a fresh install Here are the STEPS I went through following a FRESH CODESYS Win 64 3.5.19.60 install on a different computer. ‘Gateway not configured properly’ when attempting to REFRESH from the Users and Groups. Then did Gateway manage and confirmed it was ok: This message popped out as it was a fresh install: YES then: Initially went with Administrator twice (user & password) but it did not like it. No device is responding to …: Continued by setting a new user Pressed OK and obtained the following message: Stopped and Restarted PLC at that point: Obtained the following: Attempted to login a 2nd time without success. Then I scanned the network to see if matching device can be detected: Only way to get it detected was to remove the tick in the ‘Hide non-matching devices…’ Attempted a WINK but got a return like this one: REFRESH either @ Users and Groups or @ Access Rights returns: Then created user ‘mp’ at Project level ang logged in: Understandably device user mp9876 was not valid for the Project. Device information A few questions comes to my mind following these connection attempts: 1- Gateway not configured properly message pops out because of a non-compatible device ? 2- Why would the device not be compatible ? 3- Any way to make the device compatible ? 4- Any ideas on how to get this connectivity problem to the device solved ?

Hi All, I finally figured out how to solve it. The only away that I got it to work was to define parity to None on modbus configuration, and now works like a charm. Just for the record I'm using the GPIO port pins (8,10) and a RS485 to ttl shield that you can find online. Thanks all for the support! Regards Ricardo

Also had this problem when working on legacy project. My packege was CODESYS Code Generator ARM 4.0.3.0.package. To manage this I used PackageManagerCLI.exe. This tool does not validate certificates appearently. What I wanted to know is if there is a generic EtherCAT slave object already in CODESYS that I can use for anything, remote IO, Drives, VFD's and so on, as long as I match PDO's. Hallo, ich habe folgendes Problem: Nach Installation von RaspiOS auf einem Compute Modul 4 Rev 1.1 stoppt der Service nach genau 30 Sekunden. Ich habe sowohl Buster als auch Bookworm gestestet. Die Runtim versionen 4.8.0.0 und 4.11.0.0 haben das gleiche verhalten. Unterschiedlichste Firmwareversionen haben auch zu keiner Lösung geführt. Bisher liefen die Installationen immer problemlos. Was kann ich tun.

Hi, I am using the SysProcessExecuteCommand2 function from the SysProcess library to run the candump command in the PLC's Linux environment. However, the candump command stays running indefinitely. If I was running the candump command from a terminal (via PuTTy, etc), that command usually requires Ctrl+C to terminate. Is there a way to terminate a command that is executed with SysProcessExecuteCommand2?

Why does CODESYS 3.5 show the message “Source code changes since last download” even though I did not create or modify any new variables? When I go online with the PLC, it detects changes and suggests synchronizing, but nothing was actually changed in the project. What could cause this and how can I fix it?

Took me a while to work on this again. I testes today with a fresh setup and it works now. My OneWireCycle tasks runs for around 10seconds. I guess my mistake was that I put the cycle task for the OneWire Task to a too small number. Thx for the support!

Solved EN: The Problem is that the Codesys Edge-Gateways have a License with a runtime of an half year, as long the Gateways are online they will self renew themselfs. In my Case the RevPi was more than a year offline and so the Edge-Gateway was not working anymore. The solution: I accessed a laptop that was directly connected to the RevPi. I installed the Codesys service tool and renewed the certificate manual. DE: Das Propblem ist das die Codesys Edge-Gatways eine Lizenz haben die nur ein halbes Jahr gültig ist. Solange das Gateway eine Internet verbindung hat aktualisiert sich das Zertifikat von alleine. In meinem Fall war das Gateway aber über ein Jahr offline und hat somit nicht mehr funktioniert. Die Lösung: Ich hab auf einen Laptop von Kunden mit TeamViewer zugegriffen, der Laptop wurde mit Kabel direkt mit RevPi verbunden. Codesys Service Tool installiert und dann das Gatewayzertifikat aktualisiert.

Hallo, 1. ich bin komplett NEU was Codesys angeht 2. ich muss direkt ein Retrofit machen von V2 auf V3 3. Neue Steuerung: WAGO 750-8211 PFC200. 4. das Projekt in V2 hat über SNMP daten im Netzwerk zur Verfügung gestellt, oder diese gelesen 5. das Projekt in V3 kann SNMP nur noch eingeschränkt nutzen, deswegen wurde mir vom WAGO Support nahegelegt die IIoT Lib zu verwenden. Frage: Wie mach ich das? Konkret: Ich habe die WagoAppSNMP Bibliothek installiert, damit kann ich schon mal Set und Get nutzen (hoffentlich, hab es ja noch nicht getestet, sondern nur programmiert). Ist das ein schlauer Weg, das über diese Lib zu machen? Denn: was macht der SNMP_SET_PLCDATA_WRITEAREA ? Den kann ich über die Wago Lib nicht nutzen und weiß auch nicht, was dieser Baustein konkret tut (Bild im Anhang). Es scheint mir, hier werden Daten auf ein Word im Netzwerk geschrieben? Aber geht das nicht auch einfacher? Es ist ja keine Adresse hinterlegt, wo das hin gehen soll oder? Also, ich verstehe den Baustein nicht so ganz und konnte bisher auch keine Erklärung dazu finden. Hello, I would like to implement RS232 communication into CODESYS Control RTE V3. I was writing the program testing it on CODESYS Control Win V3, where it worked fine. When I changed it to RTE, the communication was on, but I cannot send the data between PLC and scale - there is no or little response from scale - mostly one time receive and that is it. On Win V3 it was working fine. I read that I am supposed to configure CODESYSControl file for a proper communication using RTE, but even after that I can not get a stable and working communication. I am attaching my CODESYSControl and CODESYSControlUser data below, as well as I am sending the code from communication function. The communication should be through COM1 port of PC. CODESYS Version: CODESYS V3.5 SP21 + (64-bit) Runtime + Version: CODESYS Control RTE V3 Version 3.5.21.0 / CODESYS Gateway V3 - x64 Version 2.5.21.0 I would be much gratefull for any help. Sincerely,

Dear @gseidel, Thank you for your reply. The exact version of Codesys and its compiler was 3.5.21.20. The compiler version was fixed and could not be changed in project settings. Since I couldn't continue due to this compilation error, I temporarily overcame this issue as follows. -- I completely uninstalled Codesys 3.5.21.20 and completely deleted the Codesys folder in the C:\ProgramData folder. -- I restarted my computer and installed Codesys 3.5.19.70. -- I updated the Codesys Installer and all its add-ons to the latest versions. -- The project that was giving me the compilation error I mentioned before is now open with Codesys 3.5.19.70, compiled it, and successfully downloaded it on the device. -- I haven't encountered the same problem anymore. I think this issue is related to SP21 and its compiler. Frankly, I'd expect a project created with an older version to compile without errors after opening it with the latest Codesys version and updating all libraries. Regards, imdatatas

I started to experience the same issue, after upgrading to 3.5.19 , and still persists with 3.5.20.3 , using CodesysControlWinV3 x64 on Windows. Unfortunately, this is a live application, normally it is running for months without interruption - so it was a surprise at the last cold start... It was not possible to go online with the original version, so I couldn't see the application, or system status, just the log message. First time I manually clean the Application from the PlcLogic directory (there was no coredump file in there), then I could start the runtime service, and do a fresh download, and set the bootproject. I could not try a cold system reboot - it's in a 24/7 production environment, and I was under heavy pressure to start... What I did, I have created a backup from the * complete * runtime directory, from the failed, and fixed version - before and after download. This directory in my case C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\55096128 - At the next shutdown, it was sufficient to copy back this backup completely, and could start the runtime service afterwards. Ugly, but local staff with some skills can do it without programming tool... I don't store any live data, configuration, log files, persistent data in this directory - the only reason I need this is to edit the CodesysControl... .cfg file.... And to see the logfiles in emergencies like this. The application concerned doesn't use any retain area. - exactly for these reasons - Maybe that is causing the problem with the newer runtime versions As far as I see, this problem occurs only if the power of the Windows PLC is interrupted without a proper shutdown. Unfortunately, this can happen sometimes. The newer versions, seems tp modify CodesysControl.cfg on the fly, and register the applications, and bootproject information after download. (I don't really see CodesysControl.cfg a proper location for this... but that's just my feeling) So now I had a look at CodesysCotrol.cfg on my laptop and I found: [CmpRetain] ;Retain.SRAM.Size=0x200200 ;Retain.SRAM.Address=0xFA3C5776 ;SimulateSRAM=1 [CmpApp] ;Bootproject.CreateOnDownload=0 ;Bootproject.StoreOnlyOnDownload=0 ;Bootproject.InvalidateByRename=1 ;Bootproject.InvalidateBySetting=1 ;Bootproject.InvalidateNever=0 ;PersistentForce=0 ;RetainType.Applications=InSRAM ;RetainType.Applications=OnPowerfail ;RetainType.Applications=None ;Exception.Hardware.GlobalStop=1 Application.1=MyTestAppNoRetain The last line appeared after download and boot project creation. Maybe... Should set RetainType.Applications=None? I wonder about all these settings, but... Will write separately about it. I hope this helps a little...

Subject: Solution: CODESYS Freezes Linked to Large Symbol Configuration (OPC UA) Hello everyone, I was experiencing the same problem as many here: CODESYS (v3.5 SP20+) freezing during compilation and download, especially on projects that use OPC UA for SCADA. The only workaround was to run Build > Clean all before every download. I believe I have found the root cause and a permanent solution. The Problem: The issue is directly related to a large Symbol Configuration. In my project, I only need about 700 tags for OPC UA, but the Symbol Configuration list was showing over 250,000 tags. This is because it automatically includes all variables from Global Variable Lists (GVLs) and other memory areas. When any static variable is changed, the IDE tries to rebuild this enormous list, causing it to freeze for several minutes. The Solution: Instead of letting CODESYS export every variable by default, you can use a pragma to tell it which variables or GVLs to exclude from the symbol export process. Place the following pragma at the top of any GVL or data structure that you do not want to be part of the symbol configuration: 1 {attribute 'symbol' := 'none'} 2 VAR_GLOBAL 3 // All variables in this GVL will now be excluded from the 4 // Symbol Configuration by default. 5 InternalVariable1 : INT; 6 InternalVariable2 : BOOL; 7 END_VAR After adding this pragma to all the GVLs that were not needed for OPC UA, the number of tags in my Symbol Configuration dropped to the correct amount. The compilation and download process is now fast again, with no freezing. This method is much more efficient than manually managing the symbol list in the editor. I hope this helps others who are facing this frustrating issue. Best regards.

Hallo, wir sind etwas Ratlos mit der Handhabung der EVL/EVCs in Verbindung mit IFM CR7xxs Steuerungen. Uns ist aufgefallen, bzw. schon mehrfach passiert, dass ein Programmierer ein Projekt fertig stellt, dieses auf Freigegeben stellt und abschließt. Wenn ein zweiter Programmierer das Projekt öffnet und sich in die Steuerung einloggen möchte ist dies nicht möglich ohne Download. Es wird dann immer angezeigt, dass sich die EVC geändert haben obwohl im Programm nichts verändert wurde. Gibt es eine Einstellung was wir eventuell falsch habe? Wir kennen das so nicht von anderen Sicherheitssteuerungen. Grüße

Update: This initial issue was when using a Linux target PLC. Since then I have created a Win10 target PC and the Codesys software reported an issue associated with the device version (see attached). I am assuming this is an incompatibility with the xml file from the manufacturer and the firmware version on the module and I am chasing this up with Beckhoff. Question is, why would this not report with a Linux target?
