Dear all: Question about scripting: I am creating a .NET program that is supposed to Open codesys, open template project, export a bunch of pou, then exit codesys. Launch works, Open project works, Export works, But how do i tell codesys to close itself? Hi, I am trying to build a CI/CD pipeline around our codesys projects. The only entry point if the git url and branch, as we do not put our project file under source control, so we needed to find a way to git clone from the python scripting engine. This is currently how we do this : system.commands["Git", "Clone"].execute( "ProjectLocation=" + project_dir, "ProjectName=" + project_file_name, "RemoteUrl=" + project_git_remote_url, "GitProjectStoragePath=" + project_git_local_dir, ) system.commands["Git", "Checkout", "Branch"].execute( "PrimaryProjectHandle=0", "BranchName=origin/" + project_git_branch ) This works fine, except that, depending on the environment and the project, the "Project Environment" popup gets displayed to suggest for some updates, and waits for a user interaction, even with the "--noUI" flag injected as parameter. I investigated the VersionUpdateFlags, but the problem is that the git clone is an atomic operation that clones and directly opens the generated project without the possibility to inject any updateFlags argument (only used in the ScripProjects.open() function. I also tried to simulate some keyboard events acknowledge the window from script but I did not find the right location for the SendKeys statement, I think before the git clone call is too early and after is too late. So I am wondering if there would be some other way to do that. Is there some more proper scripting api for the git add on ? Is there a global configuration of the VersionUpdateFlags that would allow the popup to be disabled outside from any project context ? Is there some way to automatically acknowledge this kind of messages in a "--noUI" mode ? What do you suggest ? Hello That's certainly CiA402. I'll attach a part of the manual for my servos, but the state diagram should be the same at yours. To be sure, get one from your manufacturer. Look at the bits in the StatusWord to see where you are in the diagram, then twiddle the bits in the ControlWord to get you to the next step. Then there are other bits in the StatusWord to tell you 'InPosition' and things like that. From the screenshot, as it mentions only 'PositionProfile' the driver will create the motion profile. So you need to put a target position in here - there should be profile velocity somewhere? Possibly, you need to write these with SDO's? At the minimum, you need to write a value to 0x6081, 0x6083 and 0x6084 (velocity, accel, decel)

In a method call, depending on the circumstances I would like to return reference to an object, or an invalid reference: METHOD Add_EVT_OUT : REFERENCE TO FB_MSG VAR END_VAR IF __ISVALIDREF(refMSG_Entry) THEN Add_EVT_OUT REF= MANAGER.AddMsg_EVT_OUT( refMSG_Entry, _Get_EVT_Message(MSG_EVENT.OUT), _Get_EVT_AddCode(MSG_EVENT.OUT) )^; ELSE Add_EVT_OUT := 0; END_IF So far setting a reference variable to 0, did this. But now, the expression Add_EVT_OUT := 0; gives an error: [ERROR] DB_WTP_370: Add_EVT_ACK MSG_TRIGGER_EXT: C0032: Cannot convert type 'BIT' to type 'REFERENCE TO FB_MSG' Naturally... I can write: Add_EVT_OUT := DWORD#0; But is this the correct way? Is there any constant I could use instead, like "NULL"? Or this is totally wrong and to be avoided?

Hello, We are trying to access remotely a PLC (ifm 711S) and a HMI (ifm CR1077). Both are connected to a Teltonika RUT200 router. We establish the connection with OpenVPN Connect and can ping both controllers. We have a laptop that, most of the time, will allow Codesys connection to the controllers, but we have several other computers that are unable to connect, although all of them can ping successfully. We cannot find any difference in the configuration or software installed from one PC to another. If we connect to the router by WIFI, instead of VPN, all the computers work fine. We know that scanning the network will not work over a remote connection, so we input the controller IP directly. Has anyone had a simlar problem and can offer any hint on what to check to meke the connection run?

I see, you want to initialize the FB. To be able to initialise it like you described, you need to add the FB_Init method to your FB. (right click on the FB, select add object --> method). Then press the arrow down, to select the FB_Init (overwrite default implementation). In the VAR_INPUT section of this method, add the variable --> Tag : STRING; Then in the code section of this method add: THIS^.Tag := Tag; // copy initial value to local variable in FB Search Google if you want to know more about FB_Init. Hello, I've been trying to use EoE for communication between a Windows PC and an M753 drive from Control Technique. Despite following some online guides (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/EtherCATStack/4.3.0.0/Ethernet_over_EtherCAT/fld-Ethernet_over_EtherCAT.html) I haven’t had any success. Both are connected to a Debian device where RTE is running: The PC is connected via the Ethernet port. The drive is connected via the EtherCAT port. I'm unable to ping the drive from my Windows PC. Here is my configuration: On Debian: (See attachments 1, 2, 3) enp1s0 = Ethernet port enp2s0 = EtherCAT port tap2 = TAP device IP forwarding and routes are both configured. On Windows: (See attachments 4, 5) On Codesys: (See attachments 6, 7) Version: Windows 11 Debian GNU/Linux 11 Codesys 3.5.17 Control for Linux SL 4.7.0 EtherCAT 4.4.0 With this configuration, I can ping the TAP device, but not the drive (See attachment 8). Hi everyone. My question about: where I can learn (read or watch) an info about codesys workflow through the system IO libs? I want to know how to implement I/O drivers by my self. In the system libs I see many interfaces, methods etc... But there is no explanation about them, just names of methods and fields of the FBs. I know about this page: https://forge.codesys.com/drv/io-drivers/doc/Generic/ There is so BIG the device description file and not so clear explaining of the attributes and elements, also some elements or attributes missed at it all. Yes, there are code examples on this page, but, so shortly and, for example, code about Modbus drivers is absent. And even if I try to add the IoDrvFB with lib, I get and error, something like: "failed to load IoDrvFB driver". And what about the book of codesys that written by Gary Pratt? Is there information about system libs and drivers in this book more clearly? Thank you :)

With IFM sensors, I used their pre-built function blocks, but with this third-party device, i need to write my own function block. Thankfully, IFM provides a generic sensor-fb so I can write my own FB with "extends" and "super". So far, so good. I found the IODD and some other documentation and I thought I get how it works, but somehow can't really get it to work at all. From my understanding, i need to write data into the PDO-Array. But i get confused with the indices and subindices of IO-Link. I'll append the IODD and some screenshots of my project. There is an AOI for LogicXDesigner, but I can't use that in Codesys. You will need a USB to RS485 converter to connect the PC to the Modbus RTU Slave Device. In Windows this converter will be recognized as Serial COM poort (e.g. COM2, or COM3, see the windows device manager to find this out). Select this port in your CODESYS application. On the PC you need to use the CODESYS Control Win (SoftPLC) to run your application. It will not work in simulation mode, because then the Modbus Communication will not be activated.

I had a similar error "Invalid ERR Ack input". What you need to do is link an variable from the "non-safe" PLC to the Group IOs of the POU in the Safety app. * Add a POU to the SafetyApp (probably already done, otherwise you don't get this error) * Right click on this POU - select properties * Go to the Group IOs tab * Link a variable to the Err.Ackn. input I don't know about the Size of zero, I didn't get this error. Were you able to fix this?

Hi, I want to use Maxon IDX drives for some simple robotic applications. I have used Maxon's Epos for generating a DCF file to import in Codesys (attached). Then I can add the IDX motors under a CANopen manager in the device tree. Unfortunately, I cannot add a "softmotion axis" to the IDX motors. Now I am wondering, why? Without being able to attach a softmotion axis to the device in the device tree, the use of the motor is greatly reduced... spiessli

Hi geoweil, have you tried to save changed values to remanent area or using a VAR RETAIN? After restart you have to initialize Counter with last remanent value. Depending on changes per cycle and the possibilitiy of your control unit to write remanent storage. Otherwise you need a buffering system to ensure save backup of last PI_Counter value. Hi, With the new Runtime Based User Management, is there any way for WebVisu clients to be logged in to a default user automatically - no login prompt? I would like for the default user to be able to perform normal operation of the machine, without logging in to the WebVisu. This is possible with the Legacy User Management. For the Runtime based user management, there seems to be a default user for the TargetVisu - but not for the WebVisu. -Bjarne

Hi All, I'm using codesys on a raspberry PI. I use V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 development system and codesys for raspberry pi 4.8.0.0. Sometimes when I build the project I get error messages C0007: Expression expected instead of ',' and C0032: Cannot convert type 'Unknow type: '!!!'ERROR'!!!" to type 'POINTER TO IoConfigParameter'. I can't click on the message to bring me to the fault. After I do a "Clean all" the build finishes successful. Anyone who can help me with this problem? Thanks! Remco Borghuis

Is it possible to get scroll bars to show when displaying a web visualization in V2.3? I've got some big pages that I can scroll around when using the in-built visualization but when they are displayed in IE i can't seem to scroll around. All I can do it drag the window bigger onto my other display to get access to the extra area. I've also tried zooming the page out in IE but this doesn't seem to work at all.

Hello, I am experiencing difficulties in configuring a CANopen device by sending SDOs. In particular I am attempting to write an Object Dictionary that has VISIBLE STRING as the Data Type. When I try to configure the sending of an SDO from Codesys to configure this parameter I am not allowed to enter a string value. In my particular case I am trying to change the Manufacturer Device Name ( Index 0x1008 ). Could it be that Codesys doesn't manage these types of variables?

Using V19 Patch 7 and 4.11.0.0 for Pi 4 Model B, My problem is whenever I change a tag e.g bool from true to false it will change in software but the pin will only go high to low after pressing stop PLC in codesys and same if i want to bring it back to high, have to login start plc change it and stop plc in order to change. any insight ? thanks
