I am trying to implement a mechanism to send alarm SMS. For this, I have created an Alarm Class with a Notification Action which calls a POU. This POU implements IAlarmNotifiable making it selectable in the Alarm Class configuration. IAlarmNotifiable has an Execute method which is called by the alarm class. Now, I want to extract the alarm message of the triggered alarm. The Execute method comes with a VAR_INPUT itfAlarm: AlarmManager.IAlarm which supplies a method called GetMessage. The help text says: Returns the message text, that has been configured for the alarm. The result is a pointer to the buffer, where the message text is stored The type of the result is CharBufferPtr, and at some place I read that it can be interpreted as a pointer to string. But I cannot manage to extract the alarm message, all I get are numbers. I have tried the following: psAlarmText := itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^; sAlarmText := TO_STRING( itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^ ); So how do I get access to the alarm message as clear text? (In this case, "Larm 1")

I have set up a brandnew Beckhoff panel pc with a codesys control runtime V3. I configured it together with 2 profinet field devices: a 16in/16out IO module from Turck and an MTS linear encoder. The machine works fine untill all of a sudden the communication breaks and the profinet participants become unreachable. At that point I can still ping the device, but the profinet master does not find them anymore: When i do a scan they are not found. When i do a cold restart, the profinet master becomes active again and the devices are found again. In the log i get Ethercat packet receive error: sysethernet. I am a little confused, there is no ethercat device in the device tree. I already set the send clock and the reduction ratio to higher values, but without result. Can codesys be configured, so that the communication re-establishes without doing the cold reset? This is very annoying and is causing a lot of prodution losses. regards Tim

Hi, We are currently using a Raspberry Pi 4 CM4 module in a EdgeBox RPI 200 - Industrial Edge Controller running the latest CODESYS Runtime Package 4.11.0.0. On the PC (actually an Intel Macbook Pro running Windows 10 in Parallels) we run CODESYS V3.5.19.50. Yesterday end of day when I was about to logoff and head home, I wanted to send the latest build to the Raspberry I clicked the Login button to compile a new version and then sync the application and all the files, it get's stuck on the last file to sync (see attached screenshot). This takes eternally, although sometimes, when I use my SFTP client (Cyberduck) and go into the raspberry and refresh the directory /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/visu/, or when I open the actual file visuelemsdatetime.tl_datetime.txt, it gets un-stuck (forcing a refresh, which might fix the syncing issue) and CODESYS continues and I can click the Start button to start the application. But this SFTP force refresh trick does not always help either... What could be the issue here? network connectivity? Can someone please help me out?

I've recently started experimenting with CODESYS for a project and am fairly new to it. I'm currently working with Function Block Diagrams (FBD) to set up TCP communication between a server and a client, where the client is implemented as a Python script. Once the communication is established, my connection status changes to True, which is the expected behavior. My challenge arises with the TCP write module, which requires the xEnable_write flag to toggle between True and False. If xEnable_write remains True, the module only performs a single write operation. To address this, I introduced a falling edge trigger (F_TRIG), expecting it to help in toggling xEnable_write and it does, However, I've encountered an issue where in the beginning after connxion established I need to manually set xEnable_write to True for the system to work as intended. I'm looking for a way to automate this process so that xEnable_write becomes True automatically upon establishing a connection . Initially, I tried setting xEnable_write to True from the start, but this approach didn't work well since it left the flag permanently True, preventing further toggling. I also experimented with using a TON timer, but I faced similar issues. I am seeking a solution that automatically toggles xEnable_write between True and False after a connection is established, ensuring continuous write operations without manual intervention. Any advice or guidance on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated."

Hello all I am using an AxisGroup with the Gantry2 Kinematics to move a 2D-Gantry system. When creating the AxisGroup, the SoftMotion_PlanningTask is created automatically with a cycle time of 2 ms in my case. I realized that the maximum cycle time of this task can spike to very high values (up to 60 ms) at lower speeds of the motion, leading to synchronization issues and errors on the axes. The same behaviour - though not as drastic - can be observed with virtual axes too. Is this behaviour intended or to be expected? Can the cycle time or type of the SoftMotion_PlanningTask be changed to prevent these errors? Or is there another fix for this issue? I tried changing the cycle type to Freewheeling, which solved the synchronization issues, but caused an error on the AxisGroup after a while, reading SMC_CP_QUEUE_UNDERRUN. Hi Dear All, I'm using my raspberry PI4 as a CoDeSyS PLC (Build from scratch with custom electronics). I was able to implement all fieldbuses with the exception of Modbus Serial. I'm using the internal Port (GPIO) and I configured it in /etc/Codesyscontrol_user.cfg the following away: [SysCom] Linux.Devicefile.1=/dev/ttyUSB0 Linux.Devicefile.2=/dev/ttyS0 I'm using COM2 on Master configuration. I'm using a interface board from TTL/RS485 (bidirectional board), and it's works perfectly with other devices but not in CoDeSyS. I'm able to send data with python script and read it on my pc using putty, but when I use a modbus slave simulator to interface with codesys I always get red icons on master and slave. (Please find image attached). I'm pretty shure that this might be a bad parameter on my CoDeSyS runtime configurstion file. Can someone help me? I'm stuck and this is for my master degree certification.

Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a project involving the control of 5 VFDs via Modbus RTU, this time using the WAGO 750-8212 CPU. So far, I've managed to make progress, but I've encountered an issue. While I can successfully read and write to all the registers I need, I consistently encounter a "Response CRC Fail" error when attempting to write the value 1151 to the STW register at address 40100. I'm able to set the frequency via register 40101 and adjust all other parameters using different registers. Setting STW to 1150 results in the drive ready boolean from the ZSW-bit being received instantly. However, the moment I attempt to send 1151 to register 40100, I immediately receive the "Response CRC Fail" error for all channels. I've also attempted to use combined control, employing Modbus for frequency control and starting from a digital input. Everything seems to function properly until I send the start command to the VFD. Interestingly, I consistently encounter the same error the moment I send the start command, regardless of whether I use register 40006 (high) or 40100 (1151). Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue?

I'm having a tough time trying to get Modbus working on a Festo CPX-E PLC; it throws these pre-compiler errors as soon as I add in my Modbus TCP Master 3.5.12.30 to my project: I'm confused about the C0046 error, as I have IODrvModbusTCP 4.3.0.0 Library installed. So I thought maybe I needed to use the newest Modbus TCP Master 4.3.0.0, which is in my device repository: However, whenever I go to add this underneath the Ethernet adapter (which is version 4.2.0.0), the only TCP Master version available is the old 3.5.12.30 one, even if I have Display all versions checked.: I even went so far as to delete the old version, but then there were no options to add a Modbus TCP Master under my Ethernet adapter. What needs to be done to use the newest Modbus TCP Master? Or are these pre-compiler errors unrelated and I'm missing something? Any help greatly appreciated.

Hallo, Ich gehe gerade Möglichkeiten durch, wie ich Buttons so erstellen kann, dass ich sie nachträglich möglichst einfach bearbeiten kann um z.B. die Farben des Aktiven/Inaktiven Zustandes darzustellen. Die Buttons bestehen aus einem Hintergrund als Farbverlauf, einem Text und einem Icon. Ich habe zuerst den ESC Image Button verwendet, aber auch hier müsste ich nacheinander alle Buttons bearbeiten, wenn ich z.B. die Hintergrundfarbe anpassen will. Jetzt habe ich die Buttons als einzelne Visualisierungen erstellt und in der Visu jeweils als Frames eingeblendet. Den Zustand kann ich dann durch unsichtbare Elemente in der Buttonvisu darstellen. Weil hinter jeder Buttonvisu ein Frame meines Hintergrundes liegt, kann ich die einfach anpassen. Siehe Bild- der Frame ist der graue Hintergrund, das Rechteck ist die Umrandung für den Status mit einer transparenten Füllfarbe. Gibt es da eine einfachere Möglichkeit die Elemente zu verknüpfen, sodass ich einen Button habe, den ich nachträglich möglichst einfach abändern kann? Bei den Buttons bei denen ich keine Icons einblende, kann ich direkt den Text auf den Hintergrundframe setzen. Wenn ich hier aber das farbige Randungsrechteck für den Status über das Frame liege, verdeckt es diesen natürlich. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit Elemente so einzublenden, dass dahinter liegende Elemente angeklickt werden können? Alternativ muss ich die Aktion auch noch mit dem überlagertem Element verknüfen.

Hello mates, I'm working with CODESYS V3.5 SP20 on a Raspberry Pi and I use "Raspberry Pi MC SL" as device on the project. I've installed the Control Standard L (multicore) license on a Wibu System usb-Dongle (cmStick/4.50) that already had another license from another vendor. I follow the online activation procedure from CODESYS documentation. Raspberry Pi has already CodeMeter installed for the other license. When I plugin the dongle on Raspberry and start the Runtime from Raspberry Pi Update in CODESYS I receive the message that I'm on Demo mode because the license is missing. I double checked that the license is activated in the dongle, through the WebAdmin of CodeMeter and the second license runs properly without any issue. I have already try to change the dongle from HID to MSD device and backward but the the Runtime cannot recognize the Dongle. I have also try to stop and start the Runtime through CODESYS without success. Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?

I am trying to create an icon on an overview screen that depicts if an alarm group has active alarms, active acknowledged alarms, or inactive unacknowledged alarms (waiting for confirmation). I've attempted to set up Notification Actions in the Alarm Class to set variables based on state changes but have been unable to find a clean and effective way to do this. Because an action on any alarm will trigger the variable to be set as instructed, I'm struggling to find a way to configure it for what I need (ie if two alarms activate, then one deactivates, the variable for indicating an alarm is active would be cleared after the single deactivation). I've been pointed toward the Alarm Manager example project but I'm finding it too complicated to understand how to implement it in my own project. Has anyone come up with another good way to indicate the states of alarms or a simpler usage of the Alarm Manager functions?

I hope the community can help me with this. I need to use the Visu Utils FbOpenDialog to control the opening and closing of a dialog. I have the Opening and Closing working, but I can’t get the dialogue's position to be controlled. Hello everyone, I have a working SPI connection (with transferExt) between a Raspberry master with Codesys and an ESP32 slave. I would also like to use a few GPIO pins. Is there a problem with using SPI AND GPIOs? Environment: Raspberry Pi 4+ with Raspian from Oct 23 Codesys V3.4 SP19 Patch 5 with Runtime Version 4.10.0.0 Device: GPIOs B+/Pi2 My problem: The status is displayed as “GPIOs : not running”. And also during mapping the message “The bus is not running. The values shown are perhaps not actual”. However, the variable changes that I make in my program are displayed under “Current Value”. In the Logic Analyzer, the pin toggles during transmission with small intervals of +-4us (seems to be a cyclical disorder, but I don't know where exactly it could be coming from). This applies to pins that I actually use (output) but also to the other GPIOs (not used). With GPIO 4, the line remains permanently high. Attached is a screenshot from the Logic Analyzer. Channel 1,3,5 were GPIO pin 26, 22, 17 Would be very grateful for help. Best regards

Hallo, beim Codeerzeugen bekomme ich wiederholt Fehlermeldungen, bei denen nicht mit einem Klick in das betroffene Modul gewechselt werden kann. Die Fehlermeldung tritt allerdings nach "Gerät aktualisieren" nicht mehr auf. Hallo, Ich scheine den Grund gefunden zu haben, das Kabel mit dem RJ45 Stecker ist für RS232 verdrahtet (am anderen Ende des Kabels ist ein 9-poliger SUB-D Stecker, nicht wie von mir im Eingangspost behauptet ein USB Stecker). In der Anleitung des Treibers ist immer nur von RS 485 die Rede. Alerdings habe ich es gestern abend noch geschafft eine funktionierende Version der setup-software herunterzuladen, und die verbindet sich offenbar über RS232. Daraufhin habe ich mir in der Anleitung des Treibers das Pinout der RJ45 Buchse nochmal angesehen, und die hat Kontakte für RS232 und für RS485. (Die liegen jeweils ganz am Rand, so ist mir das vorher nicht aufgefallen). Ich muss also als Nächstes ein richtig verdrahtetes Kabel auftreiben, und dann sehen ob das mit dem Adapter den ich habe funktioniert. An einen Abschlusswiderstand habe ich auch schon gedacht, nur weiss ich nicht wo ich den an einem RJ45 Stecker / Buchse - Paar anbringen soll... Hi Leute , ich bin neu hier im Forum und habe seit kurzer Zeit mein eigenes SPS-Projekt. Ich stoße hin und wieder an Probleme aber habe diese auf kurz oder lang gelöst. Nun zu meinem Problem: Als Projekt habe ich eine Kühlwassersteuerung , die einen Relativdruck einließst, und anhand desssen Werte dann einen Frequenzumrichter ansteuert. Z. Bsp. 5Bar -> FU auf 70Prozent. Ich lese in Codesys den Analogwert mit der Wago A20_750_455_020 ein. Dieser Wert wird umgerechnet mit LIN_TRAFO in 0-10 (Bar)und und wird dann über einen PID Regler geregelt. (Bibliothek UTIL). Dieser Wert wird dann wieder für die Ausgangskarte Umgerechnet (LIN_TRAFO) . Nun zu meinem Problem : Die Ausgangskarte nimmt nur einen Word Datentyp und meine Bausteine haben den REAL Datentyp. Wenn ich einen Konvertierungsbaustein nehme, Schmeist mir Codesys einen Fehler und das Programm wird geschlossen. Könnt Ihr mir helfen? Vielen Dank im Voraus (Datei habe ich angehängt). Die Ausgangskarte ist eine Wago 750-555-08

Hi All, I am using codesys based plc to read and control magna power DC supply over LXI protocol using SCPI command. To connect device required socket programming for that i am using Net base service library function block TCP_Client to establish connection over TCP/IP , TCP_Write to write SCPI commands and TCP_Read to read data from Magna power DC supply. I have attached screenshot for logic developed. I am able to connect and write commands to device but i not receiving any information from device. For writing Commands i also tried various end of line character like \n,<nl>, A, D, 10, 13, 0x0A, 0x0D but not received any status from device. For testing purpose i am using simple command '*IDN?' to read data. Also if tried to check on hercules software what data actually plc read, first it read correct data after that is read wrong data as see in screen shot. 'Hello World' was correct read and after that Codesys in replaced with 'Codesysorld' that is not correct way. Same issue also appeared for send data. Any one have face same issue how i can read data directly from device correctly and send data please suggest solution on this.</nl>

My PLC is WAGO PFC200 Firmware Revision 26. target After updating WAGO_Devices_and_Libraries with newer Firmware 27, CODESYS wants to update all libraries to new versions. I will only add that I did not update the Firmware in the PLC. After returning to version 1.5.3.0, the problems disappeared. Probably the version number of this library is responsible for supporting the appropriate Firmware Revision. Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicions?

Hi, Learning Codesys CNC, and I am confused by the dwIpoTime parameter. I have a basic demo application, using SMC_Interpolator feeding into SMC_TRAFO_Gantry2Tool2, which then sets the position of the x/y SM_Drive_Virtual axis. I also have a C axis which revolves the tool, which is controlled using a simple tangential angle calculation SMC_CalcDirectionFromVector. The GCode I'm using has feed/accel set at 500. The axis configuration limits are well above that (2000). What's strange is that, when I run the simulation, the feed speed changes drastically when I update the variable dwIpoTime. The larger the number, the faster it moves. What's going on here? The documentation only says "This variable has to be set for each call. It represents the cycle time in μsec." Why does it change the feed speed I'm seeing the in simulation? What is a good number to use? The example I was looking at set it at 5000. Screenshot attached.
