Hi all, I am attempting to use the Control Win V3 soft PLC to control a WAGO 750-315 remote I/O system via modbus RTU communication. I am struggling to connect to the device. I have been following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlRfkESaNds I have setup my devices as shown in the images below. I have verified that my com port settings are correct as I am able to connect/control using modbus simulator software with these settings. I have also connected to a modbus master simulator program as instructed in the video, but the orange triangles will not go away. Additionally, I have updated my settings to 485 using the PLC shell. I have also set "always update variables" to enabled (1). Serial port, PCI-Bus, and modbus serial device status all show as "Not Running."

Hi All, I have problem with ModbusFB.ClientSerial. I'm using 4 different port for Modbus communication. After some time of running program ClientSerial stops to receive data to reply buffer and all request finish with Reply Timeout. The Device sent reply correctly, that it is visible on oscilloscope and it is possible to see that data( reply )are in the device. If the usbtty device is read over external app. then it is possible to see all data which were not taken by ModbusFB.ClientSerial. The stack does not overflow or something , program runs correctly forward and no exceptions or something. The main problem it is that when the error occur than it is not possible to reset port or something or maybe i'm doing it wrong way. please help me with this issue. Thank you for any help in advice Milan

I am CODESYS neophyte getting my wheels on. My goal is to re-platform an existing PLC application written in 61131 ST I've got the majority of the code/variables in a compilable form - excluding all the IO and comms nuances I am not sure whether this the right forum An important functionality which I implemented on the other platform was totally dynamic modbus devices... Most configurations I have come across impose static MB configs in which all configured devices MUST be present and functional... I have monkeyed around with MB enough to know that herding a half dozen MB cats into a working config can be tricky. I just do them one at a time and dynamically turn them on/off in whatever combination is convenient with ID, IP, baud, parity etc being runtime tweakable. I am totally curious whether this is possible with codesys, or whether its device configuration corrals one into a static cage which requires re-building the code to support flexible variations. Best regards

Hello good morning everyone I would like to ask a question, is it possible to directly connect a device that only contains modbus RTU communication through an R-45 connector, directly to the PC? Or would you need an intermediate device to achieve communication? It would be of great help to me because I cannot achieve communication between the Codesys simulator plc and a Fuji Frenic mini VFD, please help me if anyone has had the same experience. Thank you so much

You will need a USB to RS485 converter to connect the PC to the Modbus RTU Slave Device. In Windows this converter will be recognized as Serial COM poort (e.g. COM2, or COM3, see the windows device manager to find this out). Select this port in your CODESYS application. On the PC you need to use the CODESYS Control Win (SoftPLC) to run your application. It will not work in simulation mode, because then the Modbus Communication will not be activated.

it appears that the different revisions have different PDOs. I am currently trying to use the rev25. I have tried to use the rev24 (the device repository entry not from 'scan for devices') and i keep getting 'invalid output mapping' or 'invalid input mapping' in the ethercat log. I cant even get the bus to run from the device description that comes from 'scan for devices'...

Hi! Do anybody know how I can add and enable the parameter 'Default Modbus TCP slave' on a device? I am currently writing a program where the PLC shall be set up as a Modbus TCP client, but I dont know how to add parameters to devices in codesys. I'm pretty new to the codesys environment. The picture in the attachment is on a similar PLC project where I have not written the code. my goal is to add this parameter in another project.

I have the same problem in that I can connect to the eWon and ping the controller IP Address, however I cant connect through CodeSys. I'm using Gateway-1 which is configured to use "IP-Address: localhost" and "Port: 1217". Rather than scanning the network for devices, I enter the IP Address of the device, codesys returns a "No Device is repsonding..." message. See attached. I'm wondering if the IP-Address used Gateway-1 should be "localhost" or the WAN/LAN IP of the eWon? Thanks for the help MC

Ther External IODriver has no documentation and it's not clear how to proceed. Furthermore, there is no information on how to modify the device descriptor, which is necessary to import the device into the Codesys repository. Any advice ? Thank you in advance and best regards.

Any idea as to why I am always getting this "invalid user authetication on the target" message ? Using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6 + (64 bit) Regards

Hello, I am experiencing difficulties in configuring a CANopen device by sending SDOs. In particular I am attempting to write an Object Dictionary that has VISIBLE STRING as the Data Type. When I try to configure the sending of an SDO from Codesys to configure this parameter I am not allowed to enter a string value. In my particular case I am trying to change the Manufacturer Device Name ( Index 0x1008 ). Could it be that Codesys doesn't manage these types of variables?

I just installed codesys runtime on a raspberry pi Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz (Compute Module 4) I am running on Codesys control for raspberry pi 64 SL ver 4.13.0 and I keep getting a crash after about five to ten minutes. This program was running fine on a 32bit system with runtime 4.8 previously but they upgraded the panel PC cause it got smashed. Looking at the logs I see this error "ERROR: GetNetLinkSockAndInfoByMac(): could not open netlink socket: Too many open files" at the time of crash. I do have a UDP socket open for a serial to ethernet adapter and im wondering if maybe its opening a bunch of sockets and while receiving messages, Im not sending anything to the device only receiving. Below is the code used for the UDP VAR // Scale Comm fbPeerServer : NBS.UDP_Peer; ipAddress : NBS.IPv4Address; fbReceive : NBS.UDP_Receive; xPeerActiv : BOOL := TRUE; abyReceive : ARRAY [0..255] OF BYTE; sLastValidReceive : STRING(255); udiIndex : UDINT; END_VAR IF xPeerActiv AND NOT fbPeerServer.xBusy THEN ipAddress.SetInitialValue(ipAddress := gvlSettings.sIPAddres); fbPeerServer(xEnable := TRUE, itfIPAddress := ipAddress, uiPort := gvlSettings.uiPort); END_IF fbPeerServer(); fbReceive(xEnable := fbPeerServer.xBusy, itfPeer := fbPeerServer, pData := ADR(abyReceive), udiSize := SIZEOF(abyReceive)); IF fbReceive.udiCount > 0 THEN IF fbReceive.udiCount < SIZEOF(sLastValidReceive) THEN SysMem.SysMemCpy(pDest := ADR(sLastValidReceive), pSrc := ADR(abyReceive), udiCount := fbReceive.udiCount); // Set End of String sLastValidReceive[fbReceive.udiCount] := 0; END_IF END_IF If anyone as seen this I could really use some help figuring it out. It's already there, the service get started as default. I missed to say that sometimes it happens w/o even the system get restarted. Anyway, the main issue here is to know the state of the runtime. We collect a lot of informations about the whole system, and it would be nice to have a way to detect the runtime state.

This has been moved because of security reasons. But it depends on how you start CODESYS where the project files are located (at least for Control Win from SP20). 1) If you start it through the sys tray icon, you start it as a service and the files will be located in: C:\Windows*System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS... (or C:\Windows*SysWOW64**\config...) 2) If you start it as a user, e.g. with a shortcut to the runtime, you can find it in: C:\Users\<your user="" name="">\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS...</your>

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
