I am using the visualization element "Cartesian XY Chart" in a visualization template within a library to display recorded position values. I managed to configure the chart as desired and it displays the values like it should. A problem occurs when clicking on the chart to move the cursor, zoom or pan. Upon clicking the visualization element for the first time, the task in which the visualization is run spikes to a cycle time of around 5'000 to 15'000 ms (the configured cycle time is 100 ms). Sometimes this even completely crashes the web-visualization. After this very long cycle, the visu task normalizes again and the chart can be interacted with as usual. Another spike in cycle time occurs once the visualization is switched to a frame that does not contain the chart. I did reduce the data array to only a few values and tried changing the update behaviour of the chart, but it did not change the problems I am facing. Did anyone experience a similar issue or even has a solution for this?

Hi Duvan, You could make this in 1 single object (FB), Indeed don't use a function for this beacuse you need some memory to keep the old value. Hello everyone, I'm using the IoT Library to implement the MQTT communication with my local broker server in order to publish and subscribe at specifics topics to share and consume information about my application. But, it seems that are occurring some memory leak problem in a "high" frequency (more than 10 Hz) subscribe process. I follow the same method as in IoT Lib exemples, and at first looks perfect but my PLC was rebooting frequently and when I check its memory usage that was increasing as fast as the subscribe massage was sent. I'm using a WEG PLC410 and a WEG PLC500, and this error occurred in both of them (including in CODESYS Control Win x64). The application sends to the system a message JSON with the float payload Ex. {"data" : 0.8500}, but this happens with a INT, or BOL as well. What are the limitations of the OPC UA Server? I am trying to get data off my PLC that is acquired at high rates (~50k samples/s) so I am storing them in arrays and trying to get the arrays off the PLC. When I attempt to read a ~200k element array through OPC UA the server and runtime crashes (requiring tools -> update linux arm64 -> start runtime). Is there a better way to get highspeed data off? The ACDatalog library seems a bit irritating to use so I would prefer to go through OPC UA.

I would figure out, how to create a simple html webpage with 2 frames. One frame with buttons to select the plc. A second frame with hyperlink to the webvisu of the plc ("XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8080/webvisu.htm"). Selecting other PLC Button has to change the hyperlink in 2. frame. Costs only some time to figure out :-) Or setup a raspberry Pi with small visualization. Set up a button for each plc and add one browser element. Each button writes the URL of the depending plc to the URL setting of the browserelement. Costs 55€ for runtime licence and a Raspberry Pi.

When I create a new textlist in Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 5, it wont appear in the dropdown menu at Rectangle element > Dynamic texts > Text list. If I just type the name of the textlist to the field (in quotes), I get an error saying that some file is missing. Any good ideas what to do and what is going on. I recently updated to that version and I only now noticed this when I needed to add a new textlist so Im quite screwed with this not being able to add text lists. While im typing this, I tried copying an existing list and modifying it and it seems to show. Any ideas?

Hallo, ich hab das Problem eine Alarmliste nachdem exportieren mit oder ohne Eweiterung der Liste wird nicht wieder importiert. Unter Meldungen "Import von Alarmen" steht: "Ein Element mit dem gleichen Schlüssel wurde bereits hinzugefügt.(Zeile 0, Spalte 0)" "Import der Alarme erfolgreich abgeschlossen" Es erscheinen aber nirgends die Alarme, in vorherigen Versionen hat das immer ohne Probleme geklappt. Auch ein ändern der ID und der anderen Spalten, hinzufügen und entfernen von Spalten hat leider nicht geklappt. Selbst wenn ich eine Zeile in der Alarmgruppe erstelle die Funktioniert, diese exportiere, die Zeile lösche und wieder importiere kommen immer die gleichen Meldungen und kein Alarm wird importiert. Ich hab die Funktion schon länger nicht mehr gebraucht, deshalb kann ich nicht sagen seit welcher CoDeSys Version die Funktion nicht mehr funktioniert. Hat hier jemand eine Lösung? Gruß Max

hello everyone I would like to try to better understand how persistent variables work. I created some boolean variables in the PersistentVars section initialized to the value TRUE. I have tied these boolean variables to toggle switches placed inside the HMI interface pages. Once the PLC program is started, the lever selectors, if operated, change their state, at least at a graphical level, but the persistent variables do not undergo any variation. Initially the above variables were declared as simple global variables, in this case the operation with the levers was correct; I then tried to transform them into persistent ones with the aim of using them as "settings saver" Thank you for support Bye

Hallo Zusammen, bei meinem Projekt habe ich die CODESYS Control Win 64 3.5.21.0 auf einen Windows 11 Pro PC installiert. Auf meinem Laptop befindet sich die CODESYS Version 3.5.21.10 In meinem Codesys Projekt wurde unter dem Ethernet-Adapter der KNX Stack hinzugefügt. Das Projekt ist beim übersetzen fehlerfrei. Wenn ich das Projekt anschließend auf die CODESYS Control Win 64 aufspiele, kommt bei 98% des downloads die Fehlermeldung 17 unaufgelöste Referenzen... (siehe beigefügter screenshot "Fehlermeldung_unaufgelöste_Referenzen") Im screenshot "Auflistung_unaufgelöste_Referenzen" ist zu sehen, welche KNX Element nicht aufgelöst werden können. Wie kann ich diese Fehlermeldung beheben bzw. was muss ich machen, dass ich das Projekt aufspielen kann?! Für eure antworten bedanke ich mich im Voraus! MFG koeni

the magic option is named "Use CurrentVisu variable" activate this option in the Visualization Manager an have a look: https://help.codesys.com/webapp/_visu_obj_manager;product=core_visualization;version=3.5.14.0 if your button is pressed, "feed" the string varable VisuElems.CurrentVisu := 'visu1'; with the correct name of the depending visu. alternative: place a frame element at a empty main visu, konfigure all visus to be shown by this frame. With setting the switching variable of the frame to the index value of the depending visu, it will switch to it. Advantage: the visu names are not hardcoded as string in the ladder lodgic. Good luck! Hint: If you have multiple VisuClients(Target, WebVisu,...) all will show the same visu. Independent switching is much more difficult, but there is a example from codesys.

I am relatively new to Codesys and I'm trying to develop an HMI that displays what mode a particular device is in based on an integer value. I am currently using dynamic texts with a text list which works fine but I am looking for a way to display a particular string (ie 'Unknown') when the index doesn't match any of of the indices in the text list. I can enter 'Unknown' in the text property of the text field element which works as expected but it displays the single quotes on the visualization. How can I escape these quotes to simply display the word Unknown? Thanks!

In the Input Configuration, I activated the option: "Write Variables", so that the user can change the values in the map. To test the program, I select the Online Mode (Simulation).There I change the values in the map. When restarting the program in CODESYS, the changes in the map are no longer there. Sorry for being late to the party... so it is not possible to use the webbrowser tool to display external websites in a visu anymore? As it is not possible to simply "adjust the ContentSecurityPolicyIncludeTrustedOrigins setting in the automatically generated webvisu.cfg.json file" as stated in the docs? We need to display data read from a Raspberry Pi (part of our computer network) in our webvisu. We used to do it by entering the Pi's IP address as the URL variable in the webbrowser element but now (I don't know since when, I'm new on the job) "The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource (frame-src) at 'IP address' because it violates the following directive: “default-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline'”. What are the options for displaying the data?

I want to programmatically write the alias address to a new EtherCAT slave when I plug it into my IPC EtherCAT network. I am looking at the ReadWriteEEprom FB and see that one of the elements is "pbyData". which is the pointer to byte that is usually set to 2048 bytes. Since I am setting the alias address to the EEprom only (EEprom address 16#0012), I would assume that what I am writing is 2 bytes only. Does the pbyData have to be specified as ADR(myArray) where "myArray" is the 2 bytes of the alias address? How is the best way to set this element of the function block? Thanks in advance

Hallo, I have a strange problem with the recipe manager. ISSUE: When using RecipeManCommands not all values are loaded correctly. Saving a recipe with CreateRecipe(), ReadAndSaveRecipe() or ReadAndSaveRecipeAs() works without any problems. BUT: LoadRecipe(), WriteRecipe() or LoadFromAndWriteRecipe() do not load the data correctly. It is Interesting that we have a different error pattern with LoadRecipe() than with WriteRecipe() or LoadFromAndWriteRecipe(). LoadRecipe() does not load all data and WriteRecipe() or LoadFromAndWriteRecipe() overwrites some data or assigns it incorrectly. And it is also strange that LoadRecipe() writes the values to the PLC. Normally it doesn’t do it. It makes no difference whether the memory type is textual or binary. I have an object consisting of STRUCTs which is inserted in the recipe definition. Environment: Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 4 (64Bit), Recipe Management 4.2.0.0 *Add a project (reduced to the problem)

Hi Everybody, I'm looking for a simple way of comparing two array of a structure. My structure is define like this : TYPE Positions_T : STRUCT PosX: DINT; PosY: DINT; PosZ: DINT; END_STRUCT END_TYPE I have multiples Var : ARRAY [0..220] OF Positions_T, that I need to compare quickly. I don't really want to do a Loop that goes by every 220 points and compare each one of them so I was wondering if there is another way. I came accross the MEM.Compare function, but it require to know the size in Bytes of the memory, and I don't know how to do that... Has anybody an idea on how to do the comparing easily ? Which device do you use? Does this have persistent memory (e.g. NVRAM) available? Maybe first ask your PLC vendor about the possibilities and how they advice to use persistent variables? If you have no NVRAM available, CODESYS will store the variables in a file when the device gracefully shuts down. But on an abrupt power failure, this is not possible. If you have no NVRAM and you want to use persistent variables, then consider using a UPS. In this case when the power is lost, the UPS can keep the power on the PLC which then can gracefully shut down. Hello, We use a controller that comes with a bunch of predefined faults. These faults are considered active and historic. They are a 32 byte array but only take up 26 bytes of data. Because of this the historic faults start at address 26 instead of 31. Active faults variable take up address location 0 to 31. Historic faults variable take up address location 26 to 57. Because of this overlap I get an error that these overlap and it wont allow me to download to my controller. This isn't an issue in 3.5.5.4 but becomes an issue in newer version. Is there a way to turn this off? If I change the address location, the historic faults then become broken without doing some manipulation in the code. The software will build just fine. Regarding to your application: When clicking in the web visualization, the boolean variable will be tapped for both buttons. The LED in the web visualization lights up as long as the variable is true The used variables should come from the GVL, ad/or thePLC_Prg. We see no difference or problem in both projects: You have created a visuelement Push button a a tapper, that is supposed to control the variable in this way as expected. This is also reflected (switching Bool from false to true) in the program code, as well as in the (GVL declared) variables. Wherever the misunderstanding comes from: no, this is not memory or license related. Our best guess: it is probably more of an applicative/conceptual implementation.

An other approach is to split the application into a hard real-time part running in CODESYS and the business logic running in Python asyncio. The business logic part is usually bigger and changes more often. As Python code is pure text, vscode and git are your friends. I have a WebVisu page which is re-used for multiple types of gas; it displays the alarm thresholds etc. for one gas at a time. I have an array of structures holding the set-points for each of the gasses. I'm trying to change the dialog title for the value input pop-up (VisuDialogs.Numpad). The Dialogtitle is set to Gas_Alarms.HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog, which is a string(50): When the gas type is changed (page first loaded, or prev/next buttons), METHOD Gas_Alarms.Update_Display_Variables is called, to update the strings used for the dialog titles so it shows GasName High Alarm Activation Level (EngineeringUnits), e.g. CO2 High Alarm Activation Level (PPM): HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog := Insert(' High Alarm Activation Level ()', EngineeringUnits, 30); HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog := Insert(HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog, GasName, 0); (That's not where the problem is, I'm just explaining why I'm using a variable dialogue title.) The variables used are definitely strings, but i'm always getting the error: "The type of the dialog title must be either STRING or WSTRING". I've tried moving HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog etc. to the GVL and also changing them to WSTRING, I even tried adding them to the structure array, but I always get the same error. Clearing the dialog title for that element removes the error - so I'm confident it's not a phantom error caused by something else. But I should be able to add these titles, can't just nuke them all to make it work. The MinVal and MaxVal for the Numpad are called from the array, e.g. GVL.Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].ScaledValueMIN, they are not getting an error. I am using array indexes 1 - 5 for the gasses, when I load the form or change gas, I copy the selected index to index 0 of the array, and values from Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].[ALL] are displayed on the page. When they hit save, I copy Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].[ALL] to Gas_Alarm_Configs[CurrentGasIndex].[ALL]. (ALL just means every element, I can't figure out how to display an asterix in this question... :) ) I've searched online for variable title dialog, but not found anything to help. Hello, I have very similar problem, but it seems that your solution does not work for me. I am using TwinCAT XAE Shell v3.1.4024.55 and TwinCAT Runtime. Sorry for writing here on codesys forge, but since I found the only relevant topic here and since TwinCAT is almost the same with CODESYS in many applications, I chose to write here. I simply need to dynamically update image in visualization based on camera trigger (I am doing a machine vision application). Camera triggers an image, my program processes it (applies thresholding, draws contours etc...) and saves the processed image in the runtime location (the same one you were mentioning). This was done successfully. I need to make it work at runtime, while the program is executing and I need to refresh the image in the visualization each time camera triggers a new image and program processes it. When I create image element in the visualization and define the bitmap ID variable as STRING which contains the image ID defined in the image pool, then it displays the image in the image pool, but does not work at runtime, while the program is executing. I also used the Bitmap Version. I declared it in Global variable list as integer with initial value of 0 and wrote the variable in the bitmap version in the image element in visualization. Each time new image is saved to the runtime location, I wrote a program to increment Bitmap Version by 1. It increments and the image does not update in the visualization, unfortunately. I think that bitmap version is working correctly and deletes the cached image as it is supposed to, but the Image Pool does not update the image ID with the new image... the path to the image is always the same... only the actual image changes with the same file name. Image Pool is not dynamic and cannot refresh the image in the path to the actual one at runtime. How can I refresh the image ID in the image pool at runtime? Bitmap version only deletes cached image and reloads the image from the image ID, but the image ID has the same image, because image pool won't update at runtime. Do you know any solution to this problem?

Hi everyone. I try to reach Codesys but I have problem on the beginning. I use Codesys 3.5.18.60 and 3.5.18.30 . On both version I have this same problem - when I create new standard project with controller Control Win v3 x64, empty PLC program - I compile it and everything is ok.
