Hi guys, I have been trying to use web browser element in the visualisation to connect with my IP camera. From the past few weeks, I have not been successful of doing it. I thought it would be very easy to just connect to the ip address, but apparantly it is not. I am using WAGO PLC PFC200 and my PC as a webvisu. or else can you guys please advice me on which kind of camera should I use as a CCTV system in my project instead of IP Camera. Hi Yet another OPC UA question. When setting up a OPC server using "Communcation manager" (Symbol set and information model) in Codesys the NodeId is always given as "opaque" type. At least when browsing using UAExpert. Other standard OPC objects use numeric (or string) identifier, but for some reason my variables seems to get opaque/binary type. See attached photo. How can I change this? I can't see that this is a parameter in the CodesysControl.cfg. Can this be specified in the information model nodeset? And is it possible to specify the exact numeric or string NodeId for each instance? And on a related topic, is there a way to export the OPC server nodeId's with variable name so that it can be imported in a OPC Client? The .xml files in the project folder does not seem to contain the NodeId.

If you are not using any specific Raspberry Pi functionality, then probably the "universal" Control Linux ARM SL is the approriate runtime to run on the Pi. For the license it doesn't matter which runtime version you choose, because this is not hardware based anymore, but application based. Best is to use the latest version of CODESYS. To determine which license you need, double click on your device, go to the tab License metrics.... Generate the code for your application and see which license you need based on the metrics of your application.

greetings to everyone I have a system consisting of rpi3 computer with codesys v3 installed connected to one pca9685 through which the servo motors of the two robotic arms are connected (each robot arm has 6 motors) I managed to get that the pca9685 can only drive 4 servos on the first arm the other 2 on the same robot arm do not respond, nor do the remaining 6 they do not react on the other robotic arm. Power is connected to the pca9685 for motors of sufficient power or amperage. I tried to put another pca9685 but the same thing happens again. What is the possible problem?

Hello All, Hopefully I can get some help configuring an OPC UA subscriber in a CODESYS runtime in a Raspberry Pi 5 that tries to retrieve data from an OPC UA publisher (in this case running in a TwinCAT system). I tried to follow the steps described in the page to implement the OPC UA subscriber: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_opcua_pubsub.html Seems that the example provided was created with version 3.5.16.0. Now with version 3.5.20.20 is not possible to open the complete project neither convert it. Anyway, after configuring all IPs and ports used in the OPC UA connection function block but the connection state always shows DISABLED. Can someone help me to do the proper configuration of the OPC UA subscriber? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, I've read the CamBuilder documentation and it shows to use the left boundary of the first segment as SMCB.BoundImplicit(), so that the transition is as smooth as possible. With this it sets X and Y to 0. My first slave position is not 0 (say for example it's 100), so I would set it with SMCB.Bound(0,100). My question is that when the cam goes back to the start (Periodic := TRUE) , will it blend with the last position (360, 100) if I do this? I imagine it will, but the documentation isn't clear as the information in the Periodic Cams only says to set Smooth Transition in the cam properties - but when I'm defining it with code there isn't an option for Smooth Transition to be set. Hi, I had some issues as well migrating to the new version. What I have learnt: - Have to check all the libraries in the library manager, if they are the proper versions. - Some other parts of the application, maybe an old library referenced by another one can keep the old Ethercat libraries.... Use the "Placeholders" function on the library manager - See if there is a new version available of the slave "devices". Might just have to update them ... I had problems moving from 4.7 to with 4.8, especially with the 2nd adapter for redundancy - some devices failed to initialize properly.... So I have just downgraded those libraries now. P.

Hello, I would like to know if there is a PROFIdrive layer in CODESYS. I am already familliar with Codesys's SoftMotion on CANOpen/EtherCAT (to control PLC Open FBs), and I need the same kind of stuff for PROFINET-IO devices; In my configuration, I have a CIFX board from Hischer to enable IRT, the SoftPLC "Codesys Control RTE V3 x64", and a servo-drive from INFRANOR that implements PROFINET / PROFIdrive (with IRT) protocol. Hello guys, I have the following problem with the Codesys visualization (4.6.0) and Codesys V3.5.20.20. I would like to use my own HTML5 elements for my visualization. To do this, I have to select the option “Support client animations and overlay of native elements” in the visualization manager. But with the selection of this option, the visu has a massive loading delay when changing frame content. This happens even if I have not even added HTML5 elements. However, if this option is deactivated, then changing the content of the frames works without any problems, it loads instantly. I have already tried to change various refresh rates but without success. Have any of you experienced this and been able to fix it?

Hi. As far as projects in "old version"s are concerned, these can be upgraded to newer versions at any time. To do this, the device must be updated accordingly and the copilers and library versions must be adapted. Verify that the OPC UA server is running and accessible. -You can try to connect to the OPC UA server using a separate client, such as UAExpert, to ensure that the issue is not related to the OPC UA server itself. Test the security settings in the OPC UA connection function block to ensure that the correct security policy and certificate are selected. If you are using a dynamic connection to the OPC UA server, probe that the connection settings are correctly configured and that the OPC UA client is able to establish a connection to the OPC UA server. Also, please loock into the log files for any errors related to the OPC UA connection function block, these should be listet there. The log files may also provide additional information about the issue and help you to further troubleshoot the problem. Hi! I'm having issues with my applications failing to boot up after the hardware getting restarted by the customer. I've attached a picture of the related log lines in the PLC log. I'm running this on a windows server. The version I'm currently running is CoDeSys win V3 x64 3.5.19.50 Is there any way to get more information why it's failing to boot? I've had this issue on several versions of the runtime. I don't think it's version related but I don't know. All I know is that sometimes when the client gets a power outage or something that kills the machine some of my applications fail to boot. Any help is deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am trying to connect to my PLC (IFM CR711S) via VPN(EWON COSY). I have been told to use Gateway SP14 or higher. I installed CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. In the Codesys Installer Software I can sleect "Set Gateway Service" and I do so for CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. I can start the Gateyay and select About and it shows: "CoDeSys Gateway V3 - x64 Version 3.5.20.40" (see attached) For compatibility reasons I have to run my PLC code in 3.5 SP11 and when I start I can first connect but then somehow the system restarts an older version of the Gateway only displaying: "CoDeSys Gateway V3" (see attached) I guess my question is how to run an old Cocesys Software with a new Gateway?

Hi all I found that in the last Ethercat master release (4.8.0.0) the Mailbox Gateway feature has been added. This would be useful for me to connect to a specific slave in my system, since its configuration software supports this type of gateway communication. Anyway I don't find usage information or examples. At the moment I tried to enable it in the ethercat master device settings and I configured with an IP address on the subnet of the ethercat adapter (i.e. ethercat nic configured with static ip 192.168.10.100 subnet 255.255.255.0, mailbox gateway configured to 192.168.10.30). I expected it would have responded to ping commands on the address but nothing happens. I am missing something?

Hi @niallel, it is currently not possible to create periodic cams using SMCB.BoundImplicit(). If you want to create a periodic cam which does not start/end with all slaves values equal to zero, then you must specify the boundary conditions explicitly using SMCB.Bound(). When you finished your cam, you can check via CamBuilder.CheckContinuity(), if the cam fulfills the continuity requirements for a periodic cam (see input isPeriodic). But you are right, it should be possible to create periodic cams using implicit boundary conditions. Hello, I try to add one of my PLC from the Gateways to the List view. The Gateway is shown me as online, also i have other remote tools to verify the Internet connection is working. I do the Network Scan and the Gateway shows up, i select it and click on "Add to Server". Then I type in Username and password and click on confirm. There it shows me the "Unkown Error", see screenshot. If I use the wrong credentials it gives me the error message for this. Other Devices work fine it's just this one. Greetings Jannis

Apparently my construction will not work as any of the sub-types are not be able to accept any (further) value-initiation. Ie: string_item : log_data_base := (string_value := 'test', val_type := STRING_); is not eq to (the string_value will not be assigned): string_item_2 : log_data_string := (string_value := 'test'); Because effectively for the compiler this is eq. to a "double" assignment where the compiler sees only the first assignment (my guess). string_item_2 : log_data_base := (val_type := STRING_) := (string_value := 'test'); Im not sure this should be treated as a bug, but it would surely be nice to be able to use this construction (compiler is 3.5.20.40). Anyone see any other alternative for solution (other than 4 complete STRUCTS with all fields individually defined)?

If you mean you want to shift the Origin or Zero position of your axis, you can try MC_SetPosition and set the position to 0 (if you want to take the current active position and make it the new 0. Adjust this number accordingly if/as needed). This means the servo drive keeps it's current origin position, and Codesys applies an offset to the servo drive position in the logic. You can also use the homing function of your servo drive using MC_Home and have your drive configured to set the current position as origin when it receives a homing command.

We use several control units running on Raspberry Pi, programmed using Codesys software, with multiple licenses stored as soft containers. We are planning to update the SD card image of the Raspberry Pi to a newer OS version. However, we are concerned that this process might result in the loss of our soft container licenses. Is there a way to temporarily deactivate the license so that it can be reactivated on the updated system? Alternatively, what would be the best method to preserve the licenses during the update? I'm trying to export my whole project through the option ExportPLCopenXML. It seems working, but when I'm trying to import the xml I have the following error during the importation process: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. It seems a usual issue with this process that affects to the pointer to user classes inside a procedure. I receive this error for two general functions that have this pointer declarations in the VAR_INPUT section. It seems a bug into the export/import process of CodeSYS and I couldn't skip it so far. Anyone could help me? Thanks in advance.

In case of error while opening the file to read you assume that the file doesn't exist and try to create one. But it could be that the SD card is not ready yet or simply not there. I would try to check first if the SD card is there and accessible. Otherwise with FILE.Create you could end up creating a new directory that is not mapped to the SD card. This would explain the errors even after a reboot, though it doesn't explain the READ_ONLY_CAA error I guess? I would use FILE.DirOpen and FILE.DirList to check if the SD card is there and ready.

Hello, I have developed a Python script that I run to import XML files into my project. For this, I use the Python function import_xml(). Everything was working fine when I was using Codesys platform plugins version 2.6.1.2320, but since I upgraded to versions 2.7 and even 2.8, some files are no longer imported correctly. After some research, I identified that all the files containing variables of the type "POINTER TO" are affected. I have attached a screenshot of the error I am encountering. Do you know about this bug? Do you plan to fix it?

But it is hard to figure out how the part with the file dialog works so that you can select a folder or file. Does someone know how that works?

hello everyone I would like to try to better understand how persistent variables work. I created some boolean variables in the PersistentVars section initialized to the value TRUE. I have tied these boolean variables to toggle switches placed inside the HMI interface pages. Once the PLC program is started, the lever selectors, if operated, change their state, at least at a graphical level, but the persistent variables do not undergo any variation. Initially the above variables were declared as simple global variables, in this case the operation with the levers was correct; I then tried to transform them into persistent ones with the aim of using them as "settings saver" Thank you for support Bye
