Hey NicolaG_89, thanks for the tip. But I have seen in the developer tools of the Webclient that a multiple fetching of the image and script data occurs when changing frames (HTTP code 304 NOT Modified), although these are already in the clients cache, which leads to unnecessary loading of resources from the web server. This behavior can also be found if the option “Support client animations and overlay of native elements” is deactivated, but this does not lead to such long delays. I had already tested loading all Visu elements so that everything was fetched once before they could be used. But that didn't help either. To prevent this behavior (permanent fetching), I have used a different way of switching the Visu elements in the VisuDemo Project, which also uses HTML5 control elements. I implemented this with the visibility of entire Visu elements. As a result, it only has to be fetched once and does not have to be fetched again when reloading. But I am still unsure about this implementation if the scope of the visualization becomes larger, as the Codesys visualization documentation advises against using many invisible elements. Hello everyone, maybe someone can help me with the following problem. I wanted to insert a trend element in my visualization. The problem is that I have set fixed fonts with a scaling of 1.5 for the individual languages via the visualization manager. This setting means that I have this scaling in every element, which has been quite comfortable so far because I didn't have to set the individual properties in the text fields. But in the trend element, even if I select other font sizes or fonts in the element itself, this font is also overwritten and I get a label on the x-axis that is no longer displayed correctly. Is there a way to prevent the overwriting of the font properties in this element or similar behavior? I mean, I could change the font size of each element manually, but the Visu app is a bit larger and it would be easier to have another option. Best regards Etienne

You can jumper the hats Analog Outputs to Inputs and see it function on the Web Visualization. Very Cool! I spent quite a bit of time trying to find this solution so hopefully this update helps others. Hello! I am trying to compare 2 projects via the --compare CLI option. In the docs for the --compare option, it describes the usage as .\CODESYS.exe --compare "project path 1" "project path 2". I store my projects in WSL2 on my windows machine. Since CODESYS is happy to open those projects via a path like \\wsl.localhost\home\project.project. So, to compare, I use the command .\CODESYS.exe --compare "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog1.project" "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog2.project". This results in CODESYS just opening the project and starting, not comparing the two projects. No errors are thrown, and I know the paths are correct since I can open both independently in CODESYS, and I can compare them manually through the CODESYS UI. I have also tried moving my projects to the Windows 11 OS and still have the same issue. CODESYS opens the project and does not actually compare them. I am using CODESYS profile v3.5 sp20 patch 1. What is the correct way to compare 2 projects using the --compare CLI option?

CoDeSys 3.5.19.7 Target Berghof MX6 In a simple SoftMotion programme with two stepperless modular axes from CMZ, one is simply controlled in speed, but a spot must perform a positioning. I use the function MC_SetPosition() both to reference the axis at power-up and also to correct the actual position to a fixed machine reference detected with proximity. The function has only one instance and I actually use a booelan variable to control the ‘Execute’ input. Well, I cannot correctly change the axis position on the fly if it is running at high speed. The servomotor works in a speed range between 0°/s and 720°/s, (gearbox output with a 1:6 ratio). As long as the servomotor is operating at speeds below about 400 °/s, the function is able to correct the position correctly even when forcing values far apart, but at high speeds, from 400 °/s upwards, the correction no longer takes place. For example, trying to correct the position of 280° into 300° with absolute mode, the axis that is moving at speed actually shifts the position by a few degrees, not the expected 20. I don't understand why with the servo drive running slowly the position shift occurs correctly, while increasing in speed it no longer works.

Good afternoon. I want to communicate with a Domino Industrial Printer using its Codenet protocol. The printer wants a series of Hexadecimal characters with no spaces or '00' characters. Because of that i chose the option to make the prefix and subfix for my code in a string. I have variable data in another string. With a complete program of a lot of CONCAT functions i eventually get the format of code that the printer accepts ( tested it with the hercules tool). Hercules String : 1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04 The problem is : Codesys adds automatically 'code' to the code to show it is a string. Codesys string : '1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04' The printer does not understand this. My idea is to convert the string datatype to an LWORD. I have no idea how to do this. I random types in STRING_TO_DWORD, as return i get 0. That didn't worked. Also on internet the explenations around string converting in codesys are very limited. If there in anyone who can explain me how to do it, i would appreciate it a lot ! Thank you!

I guess that the printer expects to receive an array of byte values. So where it is described that it expects to receive: Hercules String : 1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04 it actually expects to receive an array of bytes with the values 1B,4F,51,30,30, etc. So what you can do is create an array of bytes and assign the byte value to each item in the array: VAR abyToSend : ARRAY[0..99] OF BYTE; END_VAR abyToSend[0] := 16#1B; // ASCII Escape character, hexadecimal representation uses 16# as prefix abyToSend[1] := 16#4F; // ASCII 'O' abyToSend[2] := 16#51; // ASCII 'Q' abyToSend[3] := 16#30; // ASCII '0' // you can do the rest yourself // maybe could be created a lot smarter, but gives you an indication how to handle this. Then with the serial communication (or TCP/IP?) you can send a message with the reference to the array (abyToSend) and the number of bytes to send (15 bytes for the string you gave as example).

Hello Everybody, I have created a project for an Eaton XC303 that sends lots of data to a router via UDP. It works fine. However, when there is more than one product connected to the router, then it is necessary to change the IP address of the Ethernet port 0, from e.g. 192.168.2.11 to 192.168.2.12 (second product). It is easily done via PLC Shell (setipaddr 0 192.168.2.12), but the people in production is struggling with the PLC Shell commands and I would like to create a Visualization page that will hide that. I used the instruction: eChangeIPResult:= SysSockSetIPAddress(strEthernetPort, strIPAddress); and it works, until the PLC resets. I already read some posts and it appears that I need to stop the Ethernet 0 port and Reconfigure it, but I am really struggling to find the right way to do it. Any help will be much appreciated.

Its important that you know the difference between the two. Example 1: Coils[0] := Coils[0] OR (Buttons[0] AND Sensors[0] > 6); In this case the statements will be evaluated every scan and result in either true or false for Coils[0]. Example 2: IF NOT Coils[0] AND Buttons[0] AND (Sensors[0] > 6) THEN Coils[0] := TRUE; END_IF In this example Coils[0] will latch the result in a true evaluation, if you want it to behave the same way as example 1 then you need to do it like example 3 below: IF NOT Coils[0] AND Buttons[0] AND (Sensors[0] > 6) THEN Coils[0] := TRUE; ELSE Coils[0] := FALSE; END_IF However back to the real question. There is no problem using either example 1 or example 3, if im not requiring a latch i usually go with example 1 as it is more compact.

Hi @eschwellinger, I tried this with Modbus COM slaves. I was able to disable them (slave becomes greyed out in the device tree), but the DED.Reconfigure "eError" output shows "NOT_SUPPORTED". After this, when I tried to re-enable the slave, it did not work (device stayed greyed out in the device tree), and the DED.Reconfigure "eError" output also showed "NOT_SUPPORTED". Is there something to do about this, or the device just doesn't support reconfiguration? P.S: I tried this running locally on my computer (not in simulation mode). So of course I was not physically connected to the devices. I have two similar projects, but one of them doesn't have the Modbus_COM devices. I know I can "Exclude from build" the devices for that project, but I would really prefer not to do this if possible. I would prefer to dynamically toggle a configuration variable that would enable or disable the slaves.

Back in november I paused this, but wanted to reattempt using the persistent manager, the behavior is still the same. Most "login attempts" s are stopped with the message "One or more errors occurred" but I have no idea what that error might be. The only clue is this message is presented while the lower left status box says "Generating code...: relocation pou". For clarification. Build/Generate code is successful, no errors. Error appears when I try to download/login (physical or simulation) to a device. I did manage to login (in simulation mode) at one point, but then the error message "PersistenceChannel: Config file not found!". And no persistence files were created. I have done device-tree/reset-orgin also clean/clean all etc. Removed/re-inserted persistance manager. Behaviour is just the same. Removing Persistence Manage and everything is working OK. Is there possibly more info somewhere about the "One or more errors occured"-message?

Hi, I have problem with connecting Wago PLC WAGO 750-8212/0025-0002 configured as OPC UA client to Kepware OPC UA Server. I am using Codesys 3.5.19.70. What I did so far. To the Codesys project I added object Data Source Manager and configured connection OPC UA like below: pic 1 Then I can browse the OPC server tags in “Variables” tab after prior trust on the server side of the client certificate created in the “Communication” tab: pic 2 Additionally second certificate has been created in Codesys for runtime process in “Security screen” as well as the server certificate was approved here: pic 3 But when I compiled project, downloaded it to PLC and go to RUN I can’t read selected in “Variables” tab, OPC Server tags. I am getting such error (ID: 7001): pic 4 All two PLC certificates has been trusted in OPC server (Kepware) side: pic 5 and Kepware server configuration look like this: pic 6 I can easily connect using third party OPC UA client UaExpert to Kepware server without problem. In attachment I added also log from Kepware OPC UA server. pic # - this specifies the number of a concrete graphic from one of the collective in attachment

Hi Just new to motion and i am building my own 3axis cnc cutter using servo drives. i have every thing working quite well apart from mc_home. when executed (r_trig) it stops immediately and i get fb_wasnt_called_during_motion. if i execute the mc_home fb with a toggle it just runs and runs for a while then errors out. what im unsure of is the way mc_home works. from what i understand it changes the drive mode to 6 (homing) and should then run of the drive homing settings. once origin sensor is made then homing would stop and mc_home.done is true. and the position on the fb is where i what the new home position (zero) to be? or do i feed mc_readposition to that input? so i would think its the settings in the drive that aren't quite right. but i believe they are all correct. has any one got any info to steer me in the right direction? Hello, I am trying to create an Ethernet/IP device that can read analog signals, do some basic logic on it and then hand communicate the results to an Ethernet/IP master. I am using the Raspberry Pi to experiment with this as I would ultimately like to drive a display as well. I have loaded up the runtime on the Pi and got the digital I/O working. I have an ADS1115 ADC to I2C board and I can't get it to work, I get a message telling me the i2c master is not running and I am not sure where to start with this. Is there a manual for running CODESYS on the Pi or something like that I am missing? I found this post and opening the project in CODESYS V3.5 SP21 it seems like tons of this wouldn't convert properly https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/f1400b71b6/ I have added in the library and device manually and copied the structured text program but lost at what to do if the core functionality of the master is not running. Hi everyone, is there a way to programmatically clear the cache of the Data Source Manager in CODESYS so that variable values are re-synchronized from the OPC UA server (Symbol Configuration with OPCUA features)? Alternatively, is it possible to trigger a manual synchronization of data source variables from within the application code at runtime? Here’s the situation: A variable is first written by the OPC UA client to the server in one state of a state machine and changes to another state – so the initial communication works. Later, the server changes the variable value, but the client does not receive or reflect the updated value, unless the variable is actively written again. I’m looking for a way to force the client (data source manager) to re-read or refresh the variable state from the server, possibly by clearing the internal cache or triggering a sync. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Busy testing a solution to use Canbus Slave to replace a physical device and convert to Ethercat device but keep the Canbus Master in place. Master needs to Read SDO object 5FA2. In the Master PLC if i send the SDO with 8 bytes in message IE: 60B 40 A2 5F 00 00 00 00 00 i get my expected 58B 43 A2 5F 00 00 68 36 02 containing data back. Problem is if we issue a 4 byte command can send 60B 40 A2 5F. Surely the canbus slave should respond with a 58B 43 A2 5F 00 00 68 36 02 but it comes back as 80 A2 5F 00 00 00 00 08 - meaning this OBJECT does not exist. Is there a setting in the canbus slave driver for Canbus to allow the 4 byte command to read the SDO OBJECTS ?

Actions taken so far: 1. Added /plcdata/csv_logs to codesyscontrol.cfg (see attached). 2. Enabled file-transfer services in codesyscontrol_user.cfg (see attached). 3. Confirmed that the PLC writes CSV files correctly to /plcdata/csv_logs/. Despite these settings, WebVisu still returns Error when accessing the custom path 1. Using the placeholder file path '$$CSVLOGS$$/filename.csv' and it returns Error 6. 2. Using the literal path /plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv and it returns Error 4 Could someone please help me determine what additional configuration or troubleshooting steps are required to serve files from /plcdata/csv_logs/? Please find screenshots attached for better understanding and I have also attached the config files

ditto I'm just getting my codesys wheels on and the modbus stuff is confusing. I am re-platforming an existing PLC application On that platform one could simply tag variables to register numbers and the whole shooting match could be accessed via modbus and typically holding registers and input registers were treated the same way... On codesys I see there is a modbus TCP server Device I/O mapping tab and a Modbus TCP server IEC objects tab I get the sense that one can configure the serving of variables both/either way but am unclear about the optimum/necessary path. Apparently in the IEC Objects tab one can "ADD" something or other - presumeably channels. I have created a preliminary function block but the Select Function Block window shows nothing to select WTH ? I exported the Device mapping and was surprised to see the entire Device IO map - complete with all the bit-mapped holding/input registers!! WTH!!?? Bit-mapped words are strictly a nichey special purpose application. I am targetting making a couple hundred variables available which would turn into hundreds of pages of IO/mapping Is the FUnction Block IEC objects thingy an alternative to that ? I notice that CODESYS shows the tags which the PLC used to specify the register address... are tags used in CODESYS for any specific hard-core purpose ?
