In the HMI application you can add the data source manager and to this manager you can add Data sources. A data source has a reference to the PLC you want to connect to and can get access to the variables of the PLC application. You can then use these variables in the visualization of the HMI application.

There are some ways. One is to use SHR and SHL and it depends on your byte order in the data array. hi, anyone else having trouble with opc ua in codesys sp20? i get Error 'BadIdentityTokenInvalid' was returned during ActivateSession i have tried both windows x64 runtime and linux runtime. i have created a completely new codesys project for this. in each of them i have only added the symbol configuration and selected one tag. i have tried several opc ua client, like ua expert, nodejs and python. all return Error 'BadIdentityTokenInvalid' was returned during ActivateSession so the problem must be the opc ua server.

The message means that you (CODESYS) tries to open the function block, but this is not possible because the library which contains the FB is compiled. You either get this when you try to manually open the function block (while editing the application), but it could also happen that an exception occurs in the running application and CODESYS tries to show the location where it occured. If it happened in an FB of the compiled library, it cannot show this and you could get this message too.

Hallo Forumsgemeinde, ich stehe vor einem Problemchen wo ich keine Lösung finde. Folgendes: wir haben ein HMI an einer Mobilen Arbeitsmaschine wo sämtliche Fehler in der SPS (nicht im HMI) resettiert werden und im HMI alle als "REP" definiert sind, also selbstresetierend wenn das "Auslösesignal" entfernt wird. Soweit so gut. Nun wenn der Kunde die Maschine mit einem Aktiven Alarm ausschaltet, auch das HMI, bleiben die Fehler in der Historie als aktiv hinterlegt. Es gibt hierzu keine möglichkeit diese zu Quittieren? Sieht eben etwas unschön aus wenn da Fehler als aktiv anzgezeigt werden die uralt sind.

I was answering your last paragraph Meanwhile, I would like to understand why the motion FB instances must still be called even after the Execute is set to FALSE, especially in view of the fact that the next instruction is programmed to abort the previous one, with BufferMode set to 'Aborting'. All these unnecessary FB calls are an unnecessary overhead on the CPU anyway. Is there any precise rule about when to cease calling the various instances? (It should precisely be the 'done' status that says this one has finished its work).

Hello, if I try to use ERR_Ok in my code to check whether the file is open correctly or not, I get an error "Identifier ERR_OK not recognized", I can use plain 0 (zero) instead. Hi, using the ElementCollections Library, why isn't it possible to mutate a value found within a HashTable? From what I understand, the only way to change a value would be to use the RemoveByKey(), followed by AddKeyValuePair(). My goal is to use a Data Structure that works like a Dictionary in Python. The HashTable seems to come close to this, except that the values themselves seem to be immutable... In python, we can mutate a dict easily (see attached picture).

Hi, I'm watching an ifm tutorial on how to setup an industrial controller in CODESYS. I'm using an 'ecomatDisplay43inch_64bit) controller. CODESYS Gateway and PLC are both runngin (systray). However if I click "Scan Network" I can't find my controller. The only thing it finds is a "desktop" it seems (I'm using a Windows 10 on a Mac Book using VMWare, so maybe it has something to do with that?). How can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

You have declared the function block in a function and call the instance also from a function. This is not correct, because a function is initialised with every call. The http client function block should be declared as Global Variable if you want to cal it from a Function, but probably it is better to declare it in a Program and also call the instance of the http function block from the same Program.... The variables of a Program are not initialised with each call.

Hello Folks, I have a quite basic understanding of how PLC programming works. However I keep getting stuck on 1 problem I could not get my head around. The problem is as follow: I have a PLC with 60 IO (20 inputs, 40 outputs). Each IO is defined as a function block. Furthermore I have an external IO card connected trough a CanBus connection. This IO card has 4 analog input channels (USINT), 4 digital inputs (Bool) and 4, digital outputs (Bool) Because I have 2 different components which both has data have I made 4 arrays to store the data off every component in one variable. PLC_Input: Array [1..20] of BOOL; PLC_Output: Array [1..40] of BOOL IOCard_Input: Array [1..8] of BOOL IOCard_Output: Array [1..4] of BOOL Because the control and reading of the different in and outputs is done by a TCP connection I want to use some kind of enumeration or struct to give each index a name so that my main would be a little bit more readable instead of all the magic numbers. Also this would make my program more dynamic for the furter in case I need to changes some in the IO nummers. For example: pump is placed on the fysical terminal strip number place 54, which is the 3th output of the IO card in the program: if I am sending a message with value 54 I would like to control IOCard_Output[3]. If there is a solution or methode to get this done, I can eventually do the following in my main program: IOCard_Output[Pump]. I have tried the following: IOCard_Output[Pump - 51] with an enumration but this keeps raising an error I hope some of you could help me further with this problem. In gross lines: I want to couple all the different IO to a more readable name and this readable name should control the right Array index Thanks in advance, George

I ended up figuring it out It wasn't in my code. It kept taking me to 2 of my visualizations but it wasn't going to anything specific. Figured out it was some arrows that I had made to buttons for a mouse click to go to the other visualizations. I removed the text in the assign box but didn't remove the action "change shown Visualization from the list. If I deleted the images all together, the error went away. That's how I thought to go look at that.

Hello, I am new to this forum so apologies if this is posted in the incorrect area. I am getting an error when trying to open the HTML5 Control Editor - this was working fine previous days. I am using Codesys V3.5 SP20 Patch 3. I have reinstalled the application. Below is a screenshot of what shows when I attempt to open HTML5 Control Editor. The origianl version with create of project was 3.5.13.10 I can change version to Master Ethercat 3.5.13.10 to 3.5.16.70 but i can´t update the last version 4.4.0.0 (I attached the screen "Version Master OK-NO OK"). In the moment update to the last version appear a lot of error("Version Master NO OK") Can anyone help me please?

Thats what I did. The files existed originally, but when I had problems logging in as described I deleted those files (if they in some way had been corrupted causing my problems to login?). After that I have not managed to get the system to re-created these def-files. I manually created the folder structure (from CODESYS file browser) but this has not helped.

Is there a way to access the variable in the called dialog? Example: Text Field element with PLC_PRG.myVar as Text variable. OnMouseClick configured to write variable with keypad pop-up. OnValueChanged configured to Execute ST RND(PLC_PRG.myVar,2); Rather than change myVar with each copy of this Text Field, is there a way to access whatever the configured text variable is? Generally try to stay away from ST in visu, but was curious regardless.

Hello everyone, i'm having some problems commanding AS1060 step motor with EL7041 (rev22) drive. With motor i've also the incremental encoder (05.2420.1230.0200.5009). I can correctly move the motor in "Position controller" operating mode with the internal counter. The problems start when i set the Encoder in feedback type or i change the operating mode. Does anyone have experience with these two terminals and can give me some advice of main parameters to check or change? Thanks everyone

I have noticed that Codesys doesn't provide option to Export any Visualization objects even though there is option to check to export VISU_TASK, which is strange because when Import in another empty project, user will end up with build errors. I understand that probable reason for this is that PLCOpenXML specification includes only "PLC" parts of the project (POU, PRG, variable lists, device ....), but not sure about it. Perhaps, there is some option to include visu objects also in the plcopen xml export list??

This seems to be because when creating 'OPC UA' with 'Communication Manager', the 'IdentifierType' of 'NodeId' cannot be configured as' String 'type. This issue is not an isolated case. For this issue, CODESYS seems to have not provided guidance to users on how to proceed. We can provide feedback on this issue in the 'My Question' section of the 'CODESYS Store' to make CODESYS take it seriously.
