In a recent project with SoftMotion 4.15.0.0, where I integrated two SD drives from CMZ (from catalogue EDS and not imported), on CANopen bus, I found that the SoftMotion MC_Reset function does not reset the drive faults. Even if the drive is in fault, either on the device or on the drive at the CoDeSys level, the function does not reset, instead reporting the error code: no error to reset. Finally, I had to connect the reset bit of the ControlWord directly to a tag in my program. Something I never had to do on other drives: Lexium, etc. all reset simply with MC_Reset.

Hi all, Im new to Codesys 3.5, and am in the process fo making a visualisation i'd eventually export towards a Wago device. The issue I'm having currently is that when I compile and connect to the simulated program, my simulation won't launch. On the Visualisation tab, all I get is a text message (where previously there was my prepared visualisation) that says "The visualisation awaits a connection. Start the application" One thing to note: I work with Codesys 3.5 in french, so this is a rough translation. And a second: I'm not getting any errors nor warnings about the visualisation tab itself upon compiling Is there a step i'm missing after launching my simulation? Or would it be some really specific issue caused by the way I've set up my program? Thanks, J

In the ScriptingEngine documentation there seems to be an error (or missing information) in the ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer part ( https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/ScriptingEngine/ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer.html#ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer.ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer ). The description of the function create_pou() doesn't specify the correct arguments requested, it only says create_pou(type: SpecialPouType) and a script using the documentation definition of the function will raise an error. I tried passing the function arguments similar to the ones specified for the create_dut() function and it seems to work fine: create_pou(name, PouType) , name : str UPDATE: The offline help has the correct definition IExtendedObject<IScriptObject> create_pou( string name, PouType type = PouType.FunctionBlock, Nullable<Guid> language = null, string return_type = null, string base_type = null, string interfaces = null )

Um eine C-Library als Codesys Bibliotheksfunktion zu erstellen, bin ich den fünf Videoanleitungen von https://de.codesys.com/news-events/gut-zu-wissen.html gefolgt. Das funktioniert auch am Anfang gut, ich kann unter x86-Linux und RasPi-Linux auch die C-Libraries kompilieren. Wenn ich dann die Library aber wie in Video 4 gezeigt in der Codesys-Bibliothek verknüpfen möchte, (siehe Screenshot) bekomme ich schon bei Auswahl der Datei und auch danach bei Klick auf "Geräte auswählen" den Fehler "Der Dateiname sollte mit dem Bibliotheksnamensraum enden." angezeigt. Meine *.so Datei endet aber meinem Verständnis nach mit dem richtigen Namen analog zum Beispiel und wie es auch in meinem Projekt heißt. Mir ist unklar, was mir diese Fehlermeldung anderes sagen will. Hat jemand eine Erklärung? (Codesys V3.5 SP 20 + (64-bit))

I see, you want to initialize the FB. To be able to initialise it like you described, you need to add the FB_Init method to your FB. (right click on the FB, select add object --> method). Then press the arrow down, to select the FB_Init (overwrite default implementation). In the VAR_INPUT section of this method, add the variable --> Tag : STRING; Then in the code section of this method add: THIS^.Tag := Tag; // copy initial value to local variable in FB Search Google if you want to know more about FB_Init. PS, reflection + instance path, is also an option if you want to get the full name of the instance (path) of the Function Block. Thank you so much. This worked. Waht im trying to do here is to automatically tag each sensors, valves and so on. There is a preatty nasty tag system i working on. "_320" is not alloved. I can have a tag "+4f=320.004-RT001V" In codesys I want to build the FB in folders. -4f | --320 | --001 This is the system structure. Inside here is all of the sensors and so on. But with Codesys, I cannot tag this like this. So what I'm trying to do now is to Make a folder for the building "4f" and one for the system "320", and a POU _001. Is there a way in init to get folder names?

Hi All, I use the analysis page in automation server to capture historical trends from my PLC - i only sample one point per hour but it does the job (for now) One issue I have is I often log on to analysis page to find the system has stopped recording trends from my PLC. To fix this, I need to choose "state information" in the "List view" under PLC and click "Reconnect" When I do this I see my variables listed under "parameters" under "PLC Details" start updating again and the trend in Data analyzer continues to update. My Question, Why do I need to manually reconnect? Is there a way to get automation server to automatically reconnect to the PLC so I continue to capture data from the PLC? Regards, Trent

Hello, I would like to know if there is a PROFIdrive layer in CODESYS. I am already familliar with Codesys's SoftMotion on CANOpen/EtherCAT (to control PLC Open FBs), and I need the same kind of stuff for PROFINET-IO devices; In my configuration, I have a CIFX board from Hischer to enable IRT, the SoftPLC "Codesys Control RTE V3 x64", and a servo-drive from INFRANOR that implements PROFINET / PROFIdrive (with IRT) protocol. Concept: i get an String from an Zebra scanner looking like this : " R002043;5410761402862;Oil Plus 2C Comp.A - Gris Belge;1286193824;" To start is the ";" the seperator. i found some functions to delete the ";" in a string. this is okay but now i want to convert each digit in the string into ascii like this: R=82 0=48 0=48 2=50 0=48 ... This because the printer wants to receive a string like this: <esc>OQ001TE 82 48 48 50 48 ...<eot></eot></esc> Anyone who can help me with setting me on the right track with some advice?

Hi all I found that in the last Ethercat master release (4.8.0.0) the Mailbox Gateway feature has been added. This would be useful for me to connect to a specific slave in my system, since its configuration software supports this type of gateway communication. Anyway I don't find usage information or examples. At the moment I tried to enable it in the ethercat master device settings and I configured with an IP address on the subnet of the ethercat adapter (i.e. ethercat nic configured with static ip 192.168.10.100 subnet 255.255.255.0, mailbox gateway configured to 192.168.10.30). I expected it would have responded to ping commands on the address but nothing happens. I am missing something?

Hi! I want to read the codesys version into the project, so I can highlight it in the SCADA system. VAR dwVersion : DWORD; END_VAR SysTarget.SysTargetGetVersion(pulVersion := ADR(dwVersion)); This gives me the value 100859909. I tried to search ths up and found som older post (https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/a55981ff4d/) that said each 4 bytes reads a number in the version. Example is 50662666 = 16#03050D0A which reads to V3.5.13.10 When I run this code I get the value 100859909, which I cant translate to anything meaningful. I am running it on Codesys V3.5.19.70. Help appreciated!

Hallo, ich hab das Problem eine Alarmliste nachdem exportieren mit oder ohne Eweiterung der Liste wird nicht wieder importiert. Unter Meldungen "Import von Alarmen" steht: "Ein Element mit dem gleichen Schlüssel wurde bereits hinzugefügt.(Zeile 0, Spalte 0)" "Import der Alarme erfolgreich abgeschlossen" Es erscheinen aber nirgends die Alarme, in vorherigen Versionen hat das immer ohne Probleme geklappt. Auch ein ändern der ID und der anderen Spalten, hinzufügen und entfernen von Spalten hat leider nicht geklappt. Selbst wenn ich eine Zeile in der Alarmgruppe erstelle die Funktioniert, diese exportiere, die Zeile lösche und wieder importiere kommen immer die gleichen Meldungen und kein Alarm wird importiert. Ich hab die Funktion schon länger nicht mehr gebraucht, deshalb kann ich nicht sagen seit welcher CoDeSys Version die Funktion nicht mehr funktioniert. Hat hier jemand eine Lösung? Gruß Max

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to locate a thread that leads me answers. I am running two RTE x64 softPLCs, one on the host machine and a second via a VM. I have managed to finally get both to a position that they see each other, but they are in standalone mode instead of an active/passive state for failover (image attached). Every attempt to sync via the button fails. There is probably some step or option that I have missed in my bumbling through this learning process, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure it out. Anyone got any suggestions what I need to look at to get this into an active/passive redundancy state?

I have created a library with both code and visualizations to be used in multiple other projects. After I update the library version into the library repository, I have much difficulty updating the version into the main project. I can always update the library version in the Library Manager just fine. My issue, is sometimes Codesys will freeze when opening the visualization that uses the library visualizations. Sometimes it opens, but freezes when I try to access the library visualizations from the Visualization Toolbox. I try letting Codesys run for upwards of 4+ hours and it is stuck in this state. On very rare cases I have no issues and can continue with my work. I haven't found a consistent reason or work around. Has anyone else had this happen?

Moin, ich grab mal den alten Thread hier aus, habe das gleiche Vorhaben, Sounds auf dem Raspberry abzuspielen. Habe einen Pi5 mit Codesys Pi 64 SL und benutze auch die SysProcessExecuteCommand sowie die SysProcessExecuteCommand2. Habe das auch schon erfolgreich umgesetzt um Kamerabilder aufzunehmen und Bilder zu kopieren, aber die Sounds funktionieren leider nicht. Wenn ich direkt in der Konsole die Befehle eingebe, werden die Sounds abgespielt, werden diese aber durch Codesys getriggert, wird kein Sound abgespielt. Ich habe bis jetzt - espeak - espeak-vg - aplay - omxplayer versucht. Alle in die CodesysControl_User.cfg eingetragen etc und keine Fehlermeldung beim ausführen. Habe BT Headset und USB Headset getestet, wie gesagt, direkt in der Konsole gehts, durch Codesys nicht. Hat irgend jemand eine Idee woran es liegen könnte?

Hi In the POU section of my project I have created a Fan function block and defined an alarm group template for this FB with one alarm (Motor fault). In the PLC program I define two instances of the fan function block. When going to the alarm configuration and pressing "Create or update alarm instances", I get two alarms listed. So far so good. However, when I start my program and check the alarm table in the visualization I only see one alarm, even if both are active. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not possible to define alarms on a function block level and get one set of alarms per instance of the function block?

Furthermore I "registred" the dll in the CODESYSControl.cfg. However, when I want to use the library I get the error message: Uresolved reference: *'CMPMYADDERADD' * Can you give me a hint what step I missed or where I need to declare the dll, such that the dll resp. the reference can be resolved. Hello all, I have developed a custom I/O driver in CODESYS that communicates via a Unix Domain Socket. In my DeviceDescription.xml, I have set up the following: <scan supported="true"> <scanfbinstance fbname="IOScanDevice"> The goal is to allow the user to scan for connected I/O modules from the CODESYS GUI ("Scan for Devices") and automatically populate the device tree with detected submodules.</scanfbinstance></scan> The function block IOScanDevice is implemented in the driver library and added to the main device's FB instances. However, when I initiate the scan from the GUI, nothing appears to happen the function is not executed. Is there an example project or driver (open source or from CODESYS Forge) that demonstrates a working custom scan implementation?

Hello I'm currently working on a project where I need to implement visualisation in Codesys on Raspberry Pi via web browser. I'm uing Codesys IDE V. 3.5 and I was able to successfully run my program and visualisation using generic elements provided by Codesys on Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4. However I am dissatisifed by the limiations and looks of generic elements. I would like to create my own components for this specific task (like cyclic buffer with messege boxes or matrix of data structures). How do people develop their own visualisation components in Codesys and how to implement them in a project?

Hello, I’m developing a program and for some reason I got this error: C0193: Name '2,Recipe #2GVL' is no valid identifier I was creating a combo box and creating a TextList for my recipe. I couldn't find where the error was, until in the combo box properties in the 'Text List' property in the options it gives me to select, I found '2,Recipe #2' to be able to select (I never created a list with this name) and I can't find a way to delete that option or I can't find where that list is. I tried to delete the TextLists, delete the combo box, to clean the project, but the error still there. How can I delete this option (2,Recipe #2)? Or how can I fix this error?** Thank you.

Which device do you use? Does this have persistent memory (e.g. NVRAM) available? Maybe first ask your PLC vendor about the possibilities and how they advice to use persistent variables? If you have no NVRAM available, CODESYS will store the variables in a file when the device gracefully shuts down. But on an abrupt power failure, this is not possible. If you have no NVRAM and you want to use persistent variables, then consider using a UPS. In this case when the power is lost, the UPS can keep the power on the PLC which then can gracefully shut down. Hi, It's my first time operating in Codesys 2.3, but I have done a good amount of Codesys programming, so I'm a little familiar. I haven't done a lot of RTU, but a lot of Modbus TCP. I don't have the PLC in my reach at the moment, but I'm trying to be a little ahead. We're adding the 750-652 module to read energy from a flowmeter over RTU. There will only be 1 slave. I attached pictures of my current hardware, PLC code, the register datasheet from the slave and the only modbus serial library I seem to have available. I'm uncertain if this will work. Any help or clarification on how things work will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Trying to communicate (from Europe) with/to a unit located in china, the communication seems blocked/stopped. The edge gateway is installed in a linux environment and was possible to link to my Automation server account using the "Automation service tool". However it seems the unit cannot communicate with the Automation server (a Network scan will give the message "Gateway not connected"). (I have tested the eq. setup with units locally which works.) Anyone having experience situation similar to this and if its possible to make this work? Will a VPN be needed possibly? Other tips?

*** The system may be in an inconsistent state, please reboot *** *Exception* Async service: ServiceGroup=17, IP=0x5fa45617, Component=CmpSrv Every time at the instant that I Login to the system a message that the "system may be in an inconsistent state, please reboot" is written in the log. If I logout and repeat login a new entry is set. My system is a "Control for linux SL" running on a debian linux host. Im running it on my desk without any IO attached so message might be caused from that, but I doubt i have seen it before. Rebooting makes no difference. Anyone that have a clue of how I should interpret this error message?
