Hi I am about to configure ALL GPIOs on a Raspberry Pi 3 model B V1.2. It seems that I have limited understanding of why not all the IO’s become available with the corresponding mapped IO’s – the 'dwInUse' contains mapping of the inputs from GPIO0 to GPIO27. But 'dwInputs' are only showing GPIO0 to GPIO8 and GPIO15 as available inputs. Hello, I'm working on setup a CAM table by using the Codesys CAM Editor. My purpouse is to obtain a quadratic velocity ramp with jerk limitation motion profile, for which i define the accel/decel phases with Poly5 segment type, but the problem is that due to the fact i can "only" adjust until the acceleration, and the jerk is always setup to 0, and i cannot change the jerk values, i cannot achieve the desired results, as i need to generate jerk steps. Is there any way it can be achieved with the editor, or maybe by using PLC runtime code? Thank you in advance for your help BR, Jordi Morito

I used the PLCnext Engineer IDE from Phoenix and all Communications where up and running and my PLC program executed successfully. THEN I tried the same PLC Layout with Codesys and Codesys Control for PLCnext. It was not successful and gave me the "Error: Local Bus not Running". I searched the web for answers but was unsuccessful in finding a solution. So I tried to change my configuration and found that the following Modules COULD NOT be recognized by Codesys Control. Hi there, I'm running the Codesys runtime on Windows 64 and I need to know if it is on "Running" or "Stopped" state just after a system crash. The following commands works perfectly well to (re)start it... net stop “CODESYS Control Win V3 - x64" net start “CODESYS Control Win V3 - x64" ...however I'm unable to determine when it is required to be call; I mean, by checking the System Tray icon, it is possible to know if it is on "Stopped" state, but I wanted to run a .BAT command to retrieve it. How can we do that?

I let this project rest for a while and picked it up last week. I have been in contact with the support from beckhoff and got the information that the terminals were identical (communication wise). As the Log of the Axis (not the drive's log) shows the error when trying to write into the register 0x8012 and set the value for an encoder to a value that is the default - at least according to the manual - I was wondering if it is possible to "not write that value" to skip that part? Or am I misunderstanding the way the library communicates with the drive?

Hello, I was wondering if there is a way in codesys to exclude the traces from the search when using the "ctrl+F" window ? That would be nice to improve the search functionnality when looking for a specific variable. Sometimes when I iterate through all occurences with the "find next" button, it opens the trace configuration window. I would expect to be able to close it and go to the next occurence with the "find next" button, but after closing the trace configuration window the search says it has reached the end of the scope (even if in reality there are other occurences of the variable elsewhere). I tried to enable / disable the "search up" checkbox but it's not changing anything. I hope somebody have insight on this, BR

Hello folks, my problem is a bit bigger for just one question. So let's start with the easiest. But first, my system setup: It's a WAGO 750-8212 PFC with some I/O-modules. I try to communicate with the controlsystem over SNMP using the IIoT library from codesys. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/de/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_iot_snmp_service.html Is there some expirience with this kind of communication? It's just about transfering some data from PFC to network and setting some analogsettings from network to the PFC. So my easiest question: Do I ever need the SNMP_Agent or can I use the SET / GET function as standalone, without the agent? (maybe some more questions will follow, if someone will answer to my request) thanks so far

Hi, I have installed different versions of Codesys, 3.5.7 - 3.5.8 - 3.5.16 - 3.5.19. When I create a project in Codesys 3.5.16 and I try to open an instance of Codesys Control Win V3 x64 it always open version 3.5.19, so appear a message windows about versions of devices are different. I have tried to open it from the installation folder and always open the last version 3.5.19 C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.16.0\GatewayPLC C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.19.70\GatewayPLC Does somebody know how to open an specific version of Codesys Control Win V3?

Hi, In Codesys V3.5 SP20, using Data Source Manager I am trying to connect to the OPC UA server and receive tags from it. The connection is ok, but the Codesys have a problem with downloading Tags group. The window (downloadingTags.jpg in attachement) never stop. After waiting for a while, I disconnect the connection and only the Server group remains downloaded, with OPC UA server diagnostic data (and this is read in Codesys). Of course, I tried connected via another OPC UA client : UaExpert , and everything works as it should, all tags are downloaded (Uaexpert.jpg screen). Has anyone on the forum encountered the OPC UA client configuration in Codesys? Is it possible to manually request the appropriate tags from the OPC server for reading in Codesys?

I ordered a cheap managed switch and tested it as soon as I received the switch. It works great! I even went a bit further. As you can see in the screenshot, I created 2 Codesys containers. Each one having 2 fieldbuses. The first one has EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP and the second one has EtherCAT and Modbus/TCP. All going through the same ethernet port from the PC to the switch. The switch splits it up into 4 different networks. The hardest part was to figure out how to configure the switch. @eschwellinger, thank you very much.

When I create a new textlist in Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 5, it wont appear in the dropdown menu at Rectangle element > Dynamic texts > Text list. If I just type the name of the textlist to the field (in quotes), I get an error saying that some file is missing. Any good ideas what to do and what is going on. I recently updated to that version and I only now noticed this when I needed to add a new textlist so Im quite screwed with this not being able to add text lists. While im typing this, I tried copying an existing list and modifying it and it seems to show. Any ideas?

I included the stub files of scriptengine (codesys python api) in a directory scriptengine of a project. I tried to include librarymanager like that: from scriptengine import librarymanager visual studio code detected an error. It said librarmanager could not be found. Indeed in the stub file, this was library_manager. But if I change it in my code, the plugin doesn t work anymore. I found an easy solution to this problem. I ve just changed the copied stub files.(library_manager -> librarymanager) But I think it would be better if you update it yourself in the future.

Codesys Windows (Main window as well as pop-ups) often appear outside of the viewable are in Windows when using multiple Monitors. This is exacerbated (happens more very often), when working on a notebook with different Monitor setups at different locations (which kind of is standard nowadays). The windows (not even the main Window) can not be recovered using standard short cuts like WIN + Arrow keys, alt + tab etc. The only way we found to recover the windows is by changing the Monitor positions in thew Windows Display Settings and than changing them back EVERY TIME a pop us is displayed. This makes using Codesys close to unbearable. All my colleagues face the same problem and do not have this problem with any other IDE. Please help.

Hi there, An "OPC Expert" client software is connecting to a Codesys Control RTE (x64) OPC UA Server. It reads only about 25 variables every 5 minutes. The OPC UA Server seems to shut down on the Codesys runtime. Is there any way to get information about the Codesys OPC UA Server status? Restart it? There is nothing in the PLC Logs after the OPC UA Server has started. It works for a while, then it doesn't. Any ideas? Any way of getting more info out of the Codesys OPC UA Server? -Bjarne

Hello everyone, I am using an IFM CR0303 model PLC, which has a tilt sensor and a pressure sensor connected via CANopen. Both sensors are from the same brand (ATEK). I can read data from the tilt sensor without any issues, but I am unable to read data from the pressure sensor. I have added the EDS file in the PLC configuration and adjusted the node-ID settings. When I check with the PCAN-View application, I can see that the selected PDOs are coming through, but the data is not reaching the Codesys side. What could be the issue, and what can I try to resolve it? Can anyone help me?

Hi, I tried some different libraries (CmpApp etc.) to find some global variables that I could read out as a variable in the codesys environment. Do any one of you know which libraries are best suited for this, and how I can read it out? My goal is to send messages, warnings etc. to the system that communicates to the PLC. Currently if something goes wrong I need to see the logfiles, or go online with the controller. I think I could save a lot of time if I could read the errors from our user interface that is connected to the PLC by TCP/IP.

I've got a visualization I'm working on with some rectangles and lines. When I simulate the program I get an Error and Message in my message box, "Error during Updating the Visualisation:" and "Overflow error." Any ideas on how to fix this? I only have 70 elements total for this visualization. I am using absolute movement for a few of the elements, would this cause the issue? The visualization seemed fine before I added these movement elements, but there is only 7 that move, that doesn't seem like it should over load the system. I am currently testing using simulation so I'm not sure if that has an effect either. I tried looking in the codesys help manual and couldn't find anything referencing this.

I couldn't exactly solve the file transfer when I wanted to do multiple transfers while the compiler was open in a way that I couldn't understand. Notification from target: runtime received SIGABRT - system may be in an inconsistent state * We recommend a reboot of the controller now! * details of the target component that sent this notification: [CmpName=SysExcept, CmpId=0x00000103, ClassID=0X0001008, ErrorID=0X00000001, InfoID= 0X0000000j] I see the warning.
