Post by z870623 on About CPU Loading

I am running a runtime environment on an ARM A35 dual-core processor (1.5GHz) and have encountered some issues. The CPU load (both CPU0 and CPU1) occasionally spikes above 50% before returning to normal, and this happens around 2-3 times per minute. At the same time, Iβve noticed that the Max Cycle Time in the Codesys monitoring screen shows much worse performance compared to the A53 (1.2GHz), with nearly double the cycle time. The optimizations I have made so far are as follows: Set the CPU to performance mode. Isolated CPUs: CPU0 is dedicated to running Linux services and the runtime itself, while CPU1 runs the EtherCAT task and the MainTask. Despite CPU1 only running these two tasks, the utilization still increases above 50%, which I find unreasonable. Additionally, I performed tests using cyclictest both without and with the runtime running. The performance is shown in the following image: From the results, I believe the CPU performance should be fine, but I am unsure why the monitoring results are not as expected. The testing outcomes should ideally be as close as possible to the cyclictest results. Does anyone have related solutions to this issue?

Do someone have any information on this topic ? We tried several different CM4 boards without success, and we cannot install the licenses we bought anymore... Isn't CodeSys supposed to support CM4 Raspberry pi ?

Update : The solution I mentionned in a previous post does not always work. Some Raspberry Pi CM4 still won't create the license container. I will open a support ticket.

Note: if you do not get any values. Check the correct wiring again. The board seems to be running and you have no error.

Go in Windows to this location. Right click on this file and go to properties. Is it in Read-only state? Then CODESYS cannot open in Write mode.

I also installed your codesys version with the codesys for raspberry pi package version 4.7.0. but with no succes, only the TCA multiplexer has a constant green turning circle, the ADS1115 still changing from running to not running.

Hello, I tried installing ControlWin 3.5.20.40 and still have the same issue. I tried on 2 different PCs running Win10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB So I then installed the Gateway from 3.5.20.20 and it works. Is there an issue using ControlWin 3.5.20.40 with Gateway from 3.5.20.20? Thank you

You need an SPI driver for the board. If there is nothing on the net, you will have to write one yourself

Not sure this will help you but I had the same issue and was able to activate the license on a Windows PC using the Web Depot in a web browser. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_installing_license.html

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
