I am considering using a SoftMotion cam and tappets to activate functions on a machine - for example, triggering a pneumatic valve. I need the ability to change the actuation point (tappet "X" location) from the HMI during machine commissioning. Is there a way to change the "X" value of a tappet programmatically?

Hi everyone, I’m completely new to CODESYS and have been teaching myself. And i Want to control an Axis using SM3RaspiStepper. Following the example on the RaspiStepper home page, I set up an axis through a POU and tied the SMC_StartupDrive (Visu) template to my axis instance (sud). Unfortunately, the motor never moves and I don’t see any pulses on the PULSE pin (GPIO 23). Hardware -Raspberry Pi 4 B -Nema 17 stepper motor -A4988 stepper driver (EN pin permanently tied to GND) Software / Runtime -CODESYS 3.5 SP21 Patch 1 – Raspberry Pi runtime (demo) -SoftMotion in demo mode -Package: SM3_RaspiStepper 0.0.0.6 Axis parameters: Pulse pin GPIO 23 Direction pin GPIO 24 Enable pin 0 (unused) Disable pin 0 (unused) Whether I start the axis from the visualization template or through Online Config Mode, the motor never spins. In Online Config Mode I press Power → the state changes from Standstill to Discrete_Motion, but the motor shaft is still locked and no step pulses appear on GPIO 23 (checked with a scope). I can provide screenshots of the Visualization, PLC logs, or wiring pictures if that helps. Any ideas on what I might be missing? Happy to provide screenshots, project files, or scope captures if that helps. Thanks in advance!

dear all I am working on a very generic gantry system (virtual drives + win v3 control) reading gcode from external file. In order to stop the interpolator function from running when gaps are detected, SMC_controlAxisByPos FB has the bStopIpo output which according to the manual is connected to the Interpolator's bEmergencyStop. Lets assume that the axis are parked in position X1000 Y1000 and the initial G code movement is G00 X500 Y500. The normal behavior is to travel from the actual x1000 y1000 to G00 X500 Y500. The SMC_Interpolator always gets the X0 Y0 as the initial position, meaning that the bStopIpo is active until the axis are in X0 Y0 and the release the interpolator to set the new positions to X500 Y500. Is there a suggested method to solve this behavior? bonus question: I get a lot of bStopIpo during standard interpolation movements (not gaps). While working with virtual axis this is not a problem but when real axis are installed this will be an issue. What exactly triggers the bStopIpo output? Slow axis accelerations compare to Gcode defaults? Kind Regards

Hi erveyone, Rau here, first time asking on CODESYS Forge: When working with my servodrives, a special behaviour is required on dsp402 0x60B8 object, a control that is not supported by MC_TouchProbe. For this reason, I'd like to ask: Anyone knows if there is any way to bypass or change the softmotion axis writting into 0x60B8 object? My main problem is that MC_TouchProbe.TriggerInput.iTriggerNumber only allows to choose between TP 1 and TP 2 (not both at the same time). iTriggerNumber only allows values [0, 1, 2, 3], other values triggers an error in the FB, wether SMC_TP_COMM_ERROR for values [4, 5, 6, 7] and SMC_TRIGGER_OUT_OF_RANGE with any other value. Hi, My problem was related to the behavior of the modulo axis, but maybe you will find something useful from what I write. The solution lies in path processing. Codesys offers a G-code analysis tool. Insert a CNC object into the project. The CNC settings object will be added automatically. By inserting appropriate processing modules into the CNC settings object and parameterizing them, you can test the behavior of the axis. When the effect is satisfactory, remember to add the module from CNC settings in the correct order in the processing path. Each CNC machine case is different. You need to spend some time to get your design tailored like an Armani suit. Good luck.

Hello, one of the projects I work on is about a racetrack collator with two independent belts on it - two different servo motors. Both motors share the same mechanical frame and there is a train on a belt that collects items from the input conveyor. The way the motion is performed is the following - there is a virutal master axis and both real axis are synchronised with different cam motion profiles. The problem is when an STO is triggered on any of the slave axis, the synchronization process starts from position 0 of the slaves. How can I force the slaves to retain their current position until the master passes their position? Then the slaves should catch up with the master according to the profile, the slaves should not start synchronization from 0 position. Best Regards Konstantin Kolev

Hello everyone, maybe someone can help me with the following problem. I wanted to insert a trend element in my visualization. The problem is that I have set fixed fonts with a scaling of 1.5 for the individual languages via the visualization manager. This setting means that I have this scaling in every element, which has been quite comfortable so far because I didn't have to set the individual properties in the text fields. But in the trend element, even if I select other font sizes or fonts in the element itself, this font is also overwritten and I get a label on the x-axis that is no longer displayed correctly. Is there a way to prevent the overwriting of the font properties in this element or similar behavior? I mean, I could change the font size of each element manually, but the Visu app is a bit larger and it would be easier to have another option. Best regards Etienne

Hi darwin03, when all joints are 0°, then the 6-axis robot is in a so called singularity. This means that it is in a special position where it cannot move freely in all directions but is restricted by its own construction. For a simple example, imagine a scara robot where the arm is fully stretched. In this position it cannot move freely. You can find a lot of information about robot configurations in the www. As far as CODESYS SoftMotion Robotics is concerned, this page holds the most important links, look for the error SMC_CP_CONFIGS_DIFFER: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20SoftMotion/_sm_robotics_errors.html The most important rules: 1) CP movements (linear moves, circular moves, cartesian jogging) cannot change the configuration during the movement. Both start- and endpoint must be in the same configuration. This excludes also the edge case that one or both of them are in a singularity. 2) PTP movements can move through singularities and cross configurations without problems. 3) SMC_SetKinConfiguration can be used to set the configuration of the axis group. After correspondence with Mr Schwellinger from Codesys the resolution for this was to uninstall the SL 4.14 and install SL 4.13 on the device. Once this was done the licensing worked as expected. I noted that the container then showed a Version 3.00 and not 0.00.

Of course there is! =) just edit file/etc/ssh/sshd_config and restart ssh service. but you'll lose the possibility of runtime management through "update Linux", so there enother question - how to change default port in codesys it-self?

You should not use the "open dialog" to change the value. Instead use the input configuration "Write Variable" to change a variable value in the visualization. in the setting of this input command, you can choose the Input type (select dialog).
