I have a WebVisu page which is re-used for multiple types of gas; it displays the alarm thresholds etc. for one gas at a time. I have an array of structures holding the set-points for each of the gasses. I'm trying to change the dialog title for the value input pop-up (VisuDialogs.Numpad). The Dialogtitle is set to Gas_Alarms.HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog, which is a string(50): When the gas type is changed (page first loaded, or prev/next buttons), METHOD Gas_Alarms.Update_Display_Variables is called, to update the strings used for the dialog titles so it shows GasName High Alarm Activation Level (EngineeringUnits), e.g. CO2 High Alarm Activation Level (PPM): HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog := Insert(' High Alarm Activation Level ()', EngineeringUnits, 30); HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog := Insert(HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog, GasName, 0); (That's not where the problem is, I'm just explaining why I'm using a variable dialogue title.) The variables used are definitely strings, but i'm always getting the error: "The type of the dialog title must be either STRING or WSTRING". I've tried moving HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog etc. to the GVL and also changing them to WSTRING, I even tried adding them to the structure array, but I always get the same error. Clearing the dialog title for that element removes the error - so I'm confident it's not a phantom error caused by something else. But I should be able to add these titles, can't just nuke them all to make it work. The MinVal and MaxVal for the Numpad are called from the array, e.g. GVL.Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].ScaledValueMIN, they are not getting an error. I am using array indexes 1 - 5 for the gasses, when I load the form or change gas, I copy the selected index to index 0 of the array, and values from Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].[ALL] are displayed on the page. When they hit save, I copy Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].[ALL] to Gas_Alarm_Configs[CurrentGasIndex].[ALL]. (ALL just means every element, I can't figure out how to display an asterix in this question... :) ) I've searched online for variable title dialog, but not found anything to help. Hallo Today I decided to perform an Update on my PFC200 but after the Update the Device was not reachable anymore. I tried reseting to factory reset. Software reset and so on, but nothing helps... In my Router I can see it, I cann SSH into the PFC200 but it is not reachable. Then I try to go back to 4.8.0.0 But now I get this error: [INFORMATION] Befehl SSH auf root@192.168.1.17 ausführen: Laufzeitsystem stoppen [FEHLER] Fehlerausgabe: /etc/init.d/codesyscontrol: line 34: /opt/codesys/scripts/init-functions: No such file or directory [INFORMATION] Standardausgabe: /etc/init.d/codesyscontrol: line 34: /opt/codesys/scripts/init-functions: No such file or directory Please help, I can't get this thing working... Hi! I tried setting up the PLC I'm working with (Beijer GN-9373) to connect to a modbus master running on a laptop. I have an ethernet connection (via USB-C to ethernet) between the laptop and the controller. I have tried following tutorial on how to set this up. I have added an ethernet device with the IP-address of the PLC. Further I added a ModbusTCP_Slave_Device with default settings. I get the error "Failed to open TCP Port: 1" when I try to go online with the PLC. Earlier I tested the exact same set up with the soft PLC from codesys. I can then read/write values correctly with the Modbus master i have running on the laptop. Hope anybody can help me with this, thanks in advance!

Hi There, When using the new ladder editor there is no option for function blocks to Remove uncalled FB call parameters. I also see no update function block. When you double click the function block it no longer opens the function block. I also now get warnings if I insert FB call without a contact in front. Warning is: (Impl)): C0373: Expression or part of it has no effect I take it the new editor must work differently? The only reason for using new ladder editor is the ST execute/block editing is far better, If you have alot of text in the old ST execute the editor window is very small and when online it's even worse. The new ST block seems a lot better Thanks!

In my projet I use Softmotion. There are several Softmotion axis (type SM_Drive_Virtual). In the Global Variable List I have an array of pointers to the adress of the Axis. Axis : ARRAY[1..iMaxCntAxes] OF POINTER TO AXIS_REF_SM3 := ADR(AX01_Axis), // [1 ADR(AX02_Axis), // [2] This works, but when compiling I get the message : . Hello, I am working on a project with a Beijer Nexto Xpress. I have done this a few times with no issues but for some reason this time when creating a Symbol Configuration the ARTI .xml file is not being created in the Project Folder. However when manually putting the ARTI tags in the HMI program they are connected and work. So I am just not getting the file to import all the tags. I can do it manually which is fine but no matter where the project folder is saved this occurs. Anyone experienced this? Did not see another forum on it.

I'm getting closer to the error. The combination of STRUCT and ARRAY probably causes the strange behavior. As soon as the ARRAY is followed by a variable, the problem arises. Examples: X: ARRAY[1..2] OF INT; // okay Y: ARRAY[1..2] OF STRUCT; // problem Z: STRUCT; Z.ArrayOfInt[1]; // okay Z.ArrayOfStruct[1].Variable // problem // *update - array of array also causes the error A: ARRAY[1..2] OF ARRAY[1..4] OF BOOL; // problem I can't be the only one who has this problem. Or? Maybe there is a solution. Anyone? Or is it a bug after all?

Hello, Up until yesterday (2023/11/20) I was able to connect to the PLC remotely with no issues through Edge Gateway. However, today I can see the Edge Gateway online but I can find the PLC even if I do a network scan. Following the same path as janber0206 @ https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/automation_server/thread/e78b11d7e9/, I looked into certificates and found that one of the Trusted publisher certificates has expired earlier today (2023/11/21). Please see image. Questions are: Does it affect the connection to the PLC through Edge Gateway? How do I fix it? Thank you very much in advance!

Hi, I have a Linux 64Bit system with a Codesys application running on it. It stops after 2hours and a few minutes, which makes me think something is wrong with the installed license. (in my last timing it stopped after 2h4min, on the codesys website it is stated that runtimes without a license stop after 2h) I installed the license via a USB license dongle that I activated on my workstation with the Codesys IDE a while ago. Now the system is shipped at not accessible physically, only remotely via SSH. So is there a way to check the status of the License of the Codesys runtime when it is running on the system? Running the codesyscontrol script with "status" just tells me that it is running, but does not provide any license information. Best regards

Hello, I am working on an application where I need to remap PDOs to a different CANopen object during runtime depending on what value is at a specific register. I have gotten to the point where I put the device into Preoperational State using the CIA405.NMT function. I then reconfigure the PDO 180x and 1a0x obejcts usings SDOs to point to a new canopen object on the device however when I go to restart the Device from PREOP to OP using the CIA405.NMT function the device is reset back to the original configuration as per the initial setup. I am wondering is there any way to change the PDOs at runtime is there some more functionaility I can access to do this. Any direction is appreciated!

First make sure the programming laptop and HMI are both on the same subnet. For example if the IP address of the HMI is 192.168.1.125 with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0 set your laptop IP to 192.168.1.120 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Make sure the cables are fully connected (the ethernet port on my programming laptop will click once but the cable is not fully seated.) Make sure the HMI is powered on, try pinging the device from a command prompt, if you can't ping the HMI there is a network issue that has to be resolved first.

Hi, thanks for the link. Maybe I create elements in incorrect way. I always use Interface Editor to create variables which are used inside element (see pics). After that I place element in my visu and use Reference property to link variable or set the value. In that case the value of string is not transferred to general text list for translation as I mentioned before. Do I have to all properties which influence behavior of my element create in Frame configuration instead? What´s the difference to the Interface editor? Thanks a lot. M.

Hello all, I am working in a project in which there are multiple Modbus TCP slaves. I need to be able to change the IP addresses of those devices from the HMI and I was planning to use the process depicted here: https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/Modbus+TCP+Slave%3A+Dynamic+Setting+of+the+IP+Address I can see the port number is what is used to specify which slave device we want to modify the IP address of. This said, can I freely set arbitrary port numbers to each device? I mean, can I set the first device to be at port 502, the second one at port 503... Any drawback or restriction? Is there any other way to reference to the device without having to change the port numbers? Thank you all in advance.

I try to add a simple text file to my PLC application, so that is download everytime the application is downloaded to the target. What I did is to add an external file to the application and this works perfect as long as the external file location does not change. It looks like the external file path is stored absolute in project. But if different users work on the project they may have different locations where for their working directory. Is there an option to store the external file path relative e.g. to the project file? Or does s.o. know a different solution to add a text file to application in order to download automatically with the application? Thanks

Hello, I am a student learning CODSIS. Lately, I've been curious about something. During the actual PLC run, that is, Assume that the I/O is connected to a physical device and the analog value is updated in real time. Is it possible to use a feature like Codesys’ Debug-Step Over-Step IN? If possible..... How do I process the values of analog values (pressure sensor, temperature, current, etc.) that are being updated in real time? To step over, the ladder must stop at the breakpoint. If that happens, the PLC will actually stop, right??

i have a problem with Profinet on my project. I'm using Codesys RTE 3.5.19.50. When i download program to controller the ethernet is ok, PN_Controller is ok but every device i'm trying to connect is red with error "DCP no RealStationName". When i'm trying to Scan for Devices on PN_Controller there are no devices found. I have installed Codesys driver CmpEt1000Drv to my network adapter (i'm sure it is right intel pro 1000 model). I have noticed that when i installed codesys driver i'm no longer able to ping this network adapter (i can ping it when intel driver is installed). On my previous projects with runetimes i can ping it even with codesys driver installed. I have also tried to do downgrade of everything to version 3.5.19.20 and it not helped.

I am having an issue where the manual start/stop push buttons on the HMI are supposed to take the pumps/blowers out of auto. The logic I have attached works for the pumps, but not the blower. From what I can tell it is the exact same logic, but it is not writing a 0 to the Auto PB variable. Attached is the logic, cross reference list to show nothing else is writing to it, and the HMI screen. Any help? Am I missing something? I am using a Groov Epic PR1, my software version is 3.5 SP19 Patch 5 32 Bit.

Try using an Ethernet/IP scanner instead of an adapter, I'm guessing the 2 devices you're trying to communicate with are adapters, you have to have a scanner somewhere and Codesys should be a scanner. I don't know why you're getting the error, you should be able to use your Ethernet port as an EthernetIP adapter (although I've never had a reason to try,) but it's probably not what you wanted to do, unless you're connecting to another PLC that is a scanner. Good luck configuring the devices you're trying to connect to, it will be a lot easier if you have an .EDS file instead of starting with a generic module, even with an .EDS it can be tricky getting the communication working.

Dear Forum, I'm currently switching to Codesys V3.5 SP19. When I want to do an online change, I get the option to update the boot project, in other (codesys based) packages this is checked on by default. In Codesys V3.5 SP19 (and maybe older versions) this is unchecked by default. We are doing a lot of remote updates with systems that almost never power cycle. In other words when this box is forgotten the system will run fine until a blackout. Is it possible to get it checked on by default? I am trying to have these set to change the visualization to a specific screen which I have designed 8 of. I currently have "use CurrentVisu" enabled in the visualization manager. I also have input blocks with all of the buttons being directed to output blocks which I want to have as the switcher for the visualization. Picture is attached for what I have currently. This could be the wrong approach to this issue. Any help is much appreciated.

Are you using the Control Win SL (installed together with the development environment of CODESYS)? If yes, you might want to consider using the CODESYS RTE instead. This has real-time capabilities (running on separate core(s)). But to be able to use this, you have to install the CODESYS Ethernet driver for your network interface to be able to let the RTE access the network port also in realtime.
