I have updated CODESYS development tool to the version v3.5 SP21 (64bit) The previous version was v3.5.20.40 Compiling an existing application with the new evelopment tool I get the following error. kunbusiodrvrevpibridge, 1.4.1.0 (kunbus gmbh): IoDrvScanModules [IoDrvRevPiBridge](Line 51, Column 1 (Impl)): Internal Error (ARM): Unsupported conversion! This error was not reported in the previous compiler version and is now highlighted in a third-party library, which I cannot change or modify. The error is due to the following conversion: m_udiError := TO_UDINT(excCode); . The excCode variable is a system type, declared as shown below, and should be converted to a UDINT excCode : __SYSTEM.ExceptionCode; m_udiError: UDINT; . I would appreciate it if someone could provide feedback on this issue.

Hello all, I would like to create a simple which runs directly on Control WinV3 x64 3.5.21.0 For this purpose I created a simple dll myAdder.dll in Cpp // MyAdder.cpp // cl /LD /EHsc MyAdder.cpp /Fe:MyAdder.dll #include <windows.h> extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) int __cdecl CmpMyAdder_Add(int a, int b) { return a + b; } I added the dll in the respective folder. Furthermore I "registred" the dll in the CODESYSControl.cfg. However, when I want to use the library I get the error message: Uresolved reference: *'CMPMYADDERADD' * Can you give me a hint what step I missed or where I need to declare the dll, such that the dll resp. the reference can be resolved. Hello everyone, I'm currently using CODESYS v3.5 SP10 on Windows 11, and I've noticed that syntax errors are not automatically underlined in red as they normally should be. Is there a specific setting that needs to be enabled for this feature to work? If so, could you please let me know where to find it? I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling CODESYS, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Also, i have a teammate who have exactly the same computer as me and he didnt encounter any issue. Hi, I am interested in details about the .ret file in the filesystem. I have already a project where the file is used (write on demand, read by start) and I want to share it as 'default input' for test devices using the identical application. Opening the .ret file content in a hex editor (I only use a single string retain var) I asked myself what the meaning of the first 24 bytes is. It neither contains a handle to the application nor a reference to the variable. Is this maybe a timestamp? Or a CRC/checksum? Regards, Thomas

Win+R > services.msc > Look in the list CODESYS Control Win V3 x64 Gateway OR CODESYS Gateway V3 Hook up the M12 code D into the ETH port, supply the controller, it should apperars to you. Make sure when you try to connect with the controller, the target of your project has to match with the controller. Otherwise, click on the device in the devices tree > Communications Settings tab > Device > Options > And disable "Filter Network Scans by Target ID". Good luck.

I'm a fan of the analog indicators from ISA101. To recreate these, I use a number of rectangles that are dynamically sized and colored based on the input configuration. To keep it standard and easy, everything is built around 100px height. Then when instantiated in a frame, it can be resized as needed with the math remaining the same. The math logic is in a METHOD called by the rear most rectangle. These indicators do not use a "filling" bar graph, rather a fixed bar graph with a carrot to track the current value.

Hello, I'm playing around with a single axis. I've setup scaling and set the drive to move 360 degrees in the commissioning tab. The axis does move 360 degrees, but it moves much slower than the 360 degrees per second that I set for the velocity. It seems to be about 3 times slower (taking about 3 seconds instead of 1). This is despite the set and actual velocity both being displayed as 360. The acceleration, deceleration and jerk are all set to very high values. I'm just running this on my PC, using demo mode (no license purchased yet). I've attached a video showing the problem. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks

I am having the same problem. 'Update Raspberry PI' disappeared from the 'Tools' menu. Using RaspberryPI 3B+, Codesys V3.5 Sp21 + RaspberryPI Package 4.16. I installed the package as Administrator, executed Codesys as Administrator I also tried to connect using the deploy (even with ssh and everything enabled on the RaspberryPi I received password denied). I used in the past the same equipment with Codesys V3.5 Sp18 and RaspberryPI Package 4.08, it was really easy. (I also did a brand new RaspbianOs installation to make sure that nothing affect the connection). Anyone, knows how to fix it? Thanks,

Which device do you use? Does this have persistent memory (e.g. NVRAM) available? Maybe first ask your PLC vendor about the possibilities and how they advice to use persistent variables? If you have no NVRAM available, CODESYS will store the variables in a file when the device gracefully shuts down. But on an abrupt power failure, this is not possible. If you have no NVRAM and you want to use persistent variables, then consider using a UPS. In this case when the power is lost, the UPS can keep the power on the PLC which then can gracefully shut down. Hi, It's my first time operating in Codesys 2.3, but I have done a good amount of Codesys programming, so I'm a little familiar. I haven't done a lot of RTU, but a lot of Modbus TCP. I don't have the PLC in my reach at the moment, but I'm trying to be a little ahead. We're adding the 750-652 module to read energy from a flowmeter over RTU. There will only be 1 slave. I attached pictures of my current hardware, PLC code, the register datasheet from the slave and the only modbus serial library I seem to have available. I'm uncertain if this will work. Any help or clarification on how things work will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

and if you copy or transfer a project to another place, copy not only the .project, copy .compileinfo .bootinfo and .bootinfo_guids then we figured out it is more often possible to go online without full download. If you build an archiv and extract it, some of this files are missing and login isn't possible without download. I work with V3.5 SP16 Patch 4. I don't know if this problem of the archiv is solved in newer Versions/SP's and I don't know what the problem of Codesys is to help out a lot of programers of this very annoying problem or at least help with a workaround

Hello all, there is my problem. i have a project on a PC A who work properly, I aim to take this project and place it on a Pc B with a blank Codesys installed. All seemd to work, the project is created on the PC B, i create my with with online.create_online_application(project.project.active_application) recover my onlineDevice and try onlinedevice.connect() so that i can use create_live_user_management() but then a problem occure on my connect() saying gateway not configured properly. I have setted my set_credentials_for_initial_user(). when i use the Ui, there is absolutely no problem. an other question, is it possible to use the Start and Stop PLC of codesys Control Systray directly in my python script? So that if it detect that it's stopped, then he automatically start it?

Iv been working with a Deep Sea Electronics DSE840 for about 6 months. I have a development version of my program working with a state machine and a basic gui interface. I went to implement CAN and suddenly the text on the gui on the controller is much larger than before. I could flash old versions of my project and the text was the correct size, but if i renamed the project file, the text displayed would be large. The visualization in CODESYS always shows the expected size, but not the controller. I did a fresh install of CODESYS and even a new project with only one text box, I cant get the text size on the controller to match what is displayed in codesys to match. Any advice?

I have default arguments specified for function block methods but when calling a method, an error is produced requiring me to supply all the arguments despite there being default values. According to the online documentation, under section "Calling a Method" and subsection "argument passing" of the following link: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_obj_method.html "Passing an argument for an input ... can be omitted ... for which a default or initial value was specified in the declaration..." I have found this to be the case for all Codesys IDEs I've used, 3.5.11, 3.5.16, 3.5.17, 3.5.19. Am I missing something?

Make sure the O->T and T->O bytes required by the remote device match the configuration in Codesys. Most of the EDS files I've imported have not worked by default. See the attached images for the connections and assemblies tabs. Note that the connections are in Bytes and the assemblies are in bits, you have to have enough bits to equal the bytes. Either mismatch will give a red/orange triangle. Page 343 of the manual (assuming the STF10-IP is an applied motion microstep driver) has some recommended connection settings, you should be able to confirm the input and output bits somehow, some devices have a web GUI, some require a software tool.

Hi DavidBo, In general Codesys is used to control equipment and an exception is the worst thing that can happen in your installation. If you cannot prevent the exception from triggering, you could implement a Try catch statement, with this solution your controller keeps on running and you are able to handle the exception. __TRY //This statement will trigger an exception Result := 4/0; __CATCH(exc) //Handle the exception HandleException(exc, strExceptionText => strExceptionText); // From the Codesys help file //Create a log file //-------------------------------------------------------- __ENDTRY What you also could do is implement implicit checks, these functions cover most of the exceptions (like dividing by zero) See picture But in general avoid a complete controller shutdown!

the magic option is named "Use CurrentVisu variable" activate this option in the Visualization Manager an have a look: https://help.codesys.com/webapp/_visu_obj_manager;product=core_visualization;version=3.5.14.0 if your button is pressed, "feed" the string varable VisuElems.CurrentVisu := 'visu1'; with the correct name of the depending visu. alternative: place a frame element at a empty main visu, konfigure all visus to be shown by this frame. With setting the switching variable of the frame to the index value of the depending visu, it will switch to it. Advantage: the visu names are not hardcoded as string in the ladder lodgic. Good luck! Hint: If you have multiple VisuClients(Target, WebVisu,...) all will show the same visu. Independent switching is much more difficult, but there is a example from codesys.

Hello, I am using the CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL MQTT Publish. Does this publish block only support publishing STRINGS as a readable format? I can publish ENUM, STRUCT, BOOL; however, MQTT Explorer will only display strings. When I use Wireshark, I can see that it is publishing something, but it looks to be publishing a serialized version which is a bunch of 0s or random text. If so, is there any way to deserialize this information back into a readable format? See pictures, where I have a BOOL TRUE that gets published as 001. Then see where I publish a STRUCT and it's an incomprehensible combination of 0s - only the string variable is displayed. Or, is it expected that you convert everything to a string before publishing? Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Nothing wrong with ladder, in a lot of applications it is simpler than ST or CFC, you're a lot less likely to have syntax issues in a ladder diagram than in structured text as long as you stick with traditional ladder elements. Your attempt was almost valid, but you tried to change the currentvisu variable using a blend of structured text and ladder, which isn't allowed. You need to use the MOVE operator and define the visualization name as a string on the input side and the visuelems.currentvisu as the target on the output side.

dhumphries, I changed the datatype this time from BYTE to USINT (because that's what my adapter is sending: array of uint8_t). The text "New Help String" you saw in previous screenshots is just the description of the input/s (it can be anything). I also looked into the logs (see attached) for that ! sign next to the device, I found that connection is being timeout. I tried some suggestions from online such as increase the RPI but still got connection timeout issue, also by changing the datatype, I still don't see incoming data from the adapter, although its visible on wireshark. thanks,

Hello everybody I am new into Codesys. I have a stepper driver (EM3E-556E) from Leadshine. I want to controll the stepper driver via EtherCat to a ST programm but I dont have any function block or anything that i can use. I only have the XML-File wich I loaded. With it I implemented the drive as a Ethercat slave and now I see these variables. (See picture) I dont know how to controll the stepper drive. And the manufacturer doesnt provide support for me. Can anybody help me or atleast tell me how they would do it?

Hello, I bought some licenses from CODESYS store. I am trying to install licenses into my device(CODESYS Control for Linux ARM64 SL). But I have a trouble with it. I did it in the following order. Tool -> License Manager Selected Device and Next... Selected Soft container and Next... Select the device and Ok.. And then I always show a message "Licensing info not available. There is no dongle attached to the device." And I tried to click "Install Licenses" button. I saw the message "The value cannot be NULL. Parameter name : continerToLicenses" Could you let me know what I've missed or what I've got wrong?

Yes it had been the case I believe as I have seen that message regarding they were not the same. I had update the device though to match them and that still did not fix the problem. I gotta say I wanted to get out of that situation and attempted a lot of things and then I did two things at the same time that fixed my problem: Wiped the 64 bit version and installed the 32 bit version Installed latest SP20 I wish I knew which one of these actions fixed the problem but now I gotta catch up on this IDE learning; it's been quite a learning experience I have to say! If support for a containerized CODESYS runtime with a license isn't feasible, then I've considered an alternative approach: I've purchased and activated a "CODESYS Control Basic S" license on my Windows notebook, where I already have the Codemeter Control Center installed. Upon activation, I can see the CODESYS license as active on my notebook. Subsequently, I followed the instructions provided in this link (https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/How+to%3A+Setup+a+Wibu+Network+Server+Access+for+Licenses) to configure the Wibu runtime in the CODESYS container to access my external license server hosted on my notebook by editing the CODESYSControl_User.cfg file accordingly. However, it's worth noting that I'm still receiving a response from the Licensing Manager indicating that the runtime is persistently searching for a dongle instead of recognizing the soft container. So how can I get my runtime licensed now? Any ideas?
