Post by kthomas on Cant login to Rpi4 but can see it in codesys communications settings. CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have been struggling for over a week to program my rapspberry pi 4 with codesys. I purchased the license. I installed the runtime and the gateway, and I can see the pi in the communication settings. But cannot log in. I have checked the status of the pi with sudo systemctl status codesyscontrol and it is running. I have enabled traffic to and from the pi with iptables and checked the logs and all looks good. I just cannot connect through the codesys ide. Can anyone help me before I lose my mind?

Post by tayhim on WAGO HMI Device not found CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I'm trying to connect with a Wago TP600 HMI but without success. I'm using codysis 3.5 SP19 patch 7 (SP20 block all the time) and the official wago package is installed. However, when I scan and select my device, I get a message saying that the device doesn't match the project's device object with the possibility to update the device (as shown in the attached picture). however, after choosing to update i got a message that the device is not found. I've tried with a new empty project but the same results. do you have any ideas? Thanks.

Post by s1mon on Two OneWireMaster on one Raspberry PI 5 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I don't know why the EtherCat fails, but what happens is: First I have only one 1WireMaster running on my Raspberry Pi and EtherCat is running fine. Then I'd like to add a 2nd 1WireMaster. Therefore I enable a 2nd GPIO Pin on the raspberry in the file "/boot/firmware/config.txt". dtoverlay=w1-gpio,gpiopin=4,pullup=0 dtoverlay=w1-gpio,gpiopin=23,pullup=0 To be able to use this 2nd 1WireMaster in Codesys Runtime I Adjust the CODESYScontrol.cfg file and add there: PlaceholderFilePath.2=/sys/devices/w1_bus_master2, $OneWire2$ After a reboot the EtherCat Master is not working any more. I didn't even add a 2nd OneWire Master in Codesys, but still if I do the EtherCat does not work. Do you have an idea why?

Post by malte on OPC UA multiple Endpoints CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
My CODESYS OPC UA server provides endpoints using both the hostname and the IP address. Connecting via the IP address works fine, but connecting via the hostname does not. The endpoint list shows both opc.tcp://<hostname>:4840 and opc.tcp://<ip>:4840. When using the hostname, the OPC UA client (UA Expert) fails to connect. Using the IP address connects without issues. Main goal is to conect via Python but opcua-asyncio seems to prefer the hostname. How can I configure CODESYS or my system so that the OPC UA connection via hostname also works properly or disable it completly? Running Codesys for PFC200 sl 4.18.0.0

Post by aria13 on Has anyone fed ESP32 sensor data into CODESYS (via MQTT/Modbus)? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Has anyone tried sending live sensor data from an ESP32 into a CODESYS runtime (for example via MQTT gateway or a Modbus bridge) to trigger PLC logic? I was reading an ESP32 → MQTT tutorial (https://www.theengineeringprojects.com/2021/11/esp32-mqtt.html) that shows how easy it is to publish sensor data from an ESP32, and I’m wondering how practical that is when tying the stream into industrial control software like CODESYS. I’ve also seen Arduino forum threads where people relay sensor streams to MQTT brokers and Raspberry Pi projects that bridge MQTT→Modbus, so I’m mainly curious about real-world issues: reliability, message latency, and simple patterns you’d recommend for safe PLC integration. Any tips, examples, or gotchas from folks who’ve done this?

Post by miltos on licensing question CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Greetings to all, I'm working on a webvisu project on control win V3 x64 runtime, and have purchased 3 licenses for my application. -Codesys Control Standard M -Codesys Visualization L -Codesys Communication M I have them installed on a Codesys usb dongle When I try to download the program, a login error window appears with the message "No valid license found for the webvisualization". The control win v3 communicates with 3 plc, and have enabled communication over codesys V3 communication by adding one datasource for every plc in the datamanager. If I remove the data manager from the project, the rest of the visualisation can be downloaded normally. Do I need to purchase another License and which one? Please find attached the software metrics and the error screen.

Post by davidbo on How to stop dhcpcd and use SysSockSetIpAddressAndNetMask to set address? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
It is stated: "Dynamic ip address, provided by DHCP, BOOTP, etc. Cannot be changed by SysSockSetIpAddressAndNetMask()" Therefore I try to stop dhcpcd and flush the eth0 like this VAR CONSTANT flushIP:STRING:='sudo ip addr flush dev eth0'; stopDHCP:STRING:='sudo systemctl stop dhcpcd'; END_VAR SysProcessExecuteCommand2(pszCommand:=stopDHCP, pszStdOut:=stdout, udiStdOutLen:= SIZEOF(stdout),pResult := ADR(Result)); SysProcessExecuteCommand2(pszCommand:=flushIP, pszStdOut:=stdout, udiStdOutLen:= SIZEOF(stdout),pResult := ADR(Result)); Besides losing the connection when flush occurs the CODESYS halts, seen on the display and I cannot see why, because I have lost the connection from my IDE. Why does the flush command halt the execution of the application?

Post by msirotkin on EtherCAT status errors CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I'm trying to understand the reason for the many errors on the EtherCAT master status page. If we set the cycletime to 1ms we see a lot of rxerrors and lostframes, but the send and recive times are quite good (see attachement). And the status of the EtherCAT bus is good (no other errors, all is green, slave has no errors) But when we set 2ms cycletime the lostframe errors are gone, but periodically increses rxerror counter (see attachement). The questions is, what do these errors actually mean and what we can do to get gid of them? Linux RT, imx8, Codesys runtime for ARM 3.5.21.10, Ethercat 4.10 Thanks

Post by mascara on JOG continues in WCS ( SMC_GroupJog2 ) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'm using the SMC_GroupJog2 block from the SM3_Robotics library for manual movement of an AxisGroup in WCS coordinates. The observed behavior is: When pressing X+, the X-axis starts moving correctly. If I press Y+ during the movement, the block interrupts the current movement and starts a new movement in X and Y. If I release any button, all axes stop, even if another button is still pressed. Example: Pressing X+ → X moves Pressing X+ and Y+ → X stops momentarily and starts XY movement Releasing X+ while holding Y+ → all axes stop The expected behavior would be: to allow simultaneous continuous movement on multiple axes to not interrupt movement when another axis is added or removed. Is there a correct configuration of SMC_GroupJog2 to achieve this behavior, or is there another block more suitable for continuous manual jog in AxisGroup (WCS)?

Post by rau00 on Touch Probe 0x60B8 writting CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi erveyone, Rau here, first time asking on CODESYS Forge: When working with my servodrives, a special behaviour is required on dsp402 0x60B8 object, a control that is not supported by MC_TouchProbe. For this reason, I'd like to ask: Anyone knows if there is any way to bypass or change the softmotion axis writting into 0x60B8 object? My main problem is that MC_TouchProbe.TriggerInput.iTriggerNumber only allows to choose between TP 1 and TP 2 (not both at the same time). iTriggerNumber only allows values [0, 1, 2, 3], other values triggers an error in the FB, wether SMC_TP_COMM_ERROR for values [4, 5, 6, 7] and SMC_TRIGGER_OUT_OF_RANGE with any other value. Best regards, Guillem

Post by darwin03 on Mismatch between coordinate monitor and actual motion using SMC_GroupJog2, MC_MoveLinearAbsolute (6DOF) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Dear Georg, Thank you for your explanation about the axis scaling. I checked the scaling of Joint6 and corrected it so that one technical unit equals one angular degree. However, I am now facing another issue. When I move all axes to zero position and then try to use SMC_GroupJog2 and MC_MoveLinearAbsolute, I receive the error SMC_CP_CONFIGS_DIFFER I already tried moving each joint manually to different positions before executing the motion command, but the error still appears. Could you please explain: What exactly causes SMC_CP_CONFIGS_DIFFER Thank you very much for your support. Best regards, darwin03

Post by baotthitawat on SCADA Systems Are Becoming Easier to Integrate With Modern Applications CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
One thing I’ve been seeing recently is that more industrial systems are starting to expose realtime SCADA data through APIs instead of keeping everything isolated inside the local monitoring software. This makes integration much easier for cloud platforms, mobile dashboards, AI analytics, and enterprise applications that need realtime industrial data. Instead of exporting reports manually or building complicated middleware, APIs allow external systems to access SCADA data directly in realtime. I think this becomes especially useful for applications like wastewater treatment monitoring, where operators need better visibility into alarms, equipment status, and operational conditions across different locations. Feels like modern SCADA is slowly evolving from a standalone monitoring platform into part of a larger connected industrial ecosystem.

Post by gatto on Two licenses have to be installed forgot to enable one license CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Sorry, I've never used Raspy. Maybe someone else can help. From personal experience, I've had license activation issues, but it was caused by my company firewall, which was blocking traffic from the Codesys license server. So I found that the license was listed as activated on the server (and therefore used and no longer activable), but it wasn't present in the PLC. I solved the problem by using an unblocked internet connection when I needed to activate the purchased license ticket. Since then, the activation process has always worked, and I've never lost any licenses.

Post by gseidel on CAM Motion Recover after STO CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Dear Mr. Kolev, I'm not sure I understood correctly. But this is my take on your question: When the STO of the slave is triggered, store the current master position (e.g. 225 units) After the reset of the slave error, call MC_SetPosition on the virtual master and reset it to the stored position (225 units) Optionally, before MC_CamIn is restartet, move the slave back to the slave position corresponding to the stored master position. (If you do this, no ramping in will be necessary) Restart MC_CamIn, with absolute master position and absolute slave position. Choose the StartMode that is appropriate for your machine. Best regards, Georg Seidel

Post by gordonkeller360 on Escape character behavior for hex values in string -- what gives? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have a program which sequentially places byte representations of characters from a string into an array. FUNCTION_BLOCK MoveBytesFromString VAR_IN_OUT abRxBuf: ARRAY [0..79] OF BYTE; END_VAR VAR testString : STRING := '$0A$R$L$TTesting,123...$94$86$0A'; iCount: DINT; END_VAR ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- // clear the buffer MEM.MemFill(ADR(abRxBuf), 80, 0); FOR iCount := 0 TO LEN(testString) - 1 DO // account for undesired null terminator of string abRxBuf[iCount] := testString[iCount]; END_FOR Escaped characters, like $T, $N, etc. work just fine, and so do their hex representation counterparts ($09, $0A, etc). However, when I put something like $94, I get a set of nonsense values... see image attached after one spin of the program. Could someone explain to me what is happening here? I'll continue to investigate...

Post by poliautomacao on Absolute movement controlled by an external encoder. CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I made this configuration, I'm moving the encoder value to SM_Driver_PosControl.in.wActPosition. When I make the absolute movement of my PosControl axis, my physical drive axis rotates perfectly, but I noticed that the movement is not followed by the encoder. That is, if I hold the encoder and keep it in position 0, the PosControl axis makes the absolute movement of 314 mm and stops, which is strange because the encoder is at 0. Theoretically, the PosControl axis should accelerate to try to compensate for the movement error. I haven't yet achieved perfect functionality.

Post by egr99 on Modbus TCP Server connection is ESTABLISHED but all holding registers are value 0? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
You're absolutely right. Sorry for that. In the meantime I wrote a Function block to handle the reads and writes to the different attached RTU-devices. It processes the parameter like (str_Modbus:=(usiSlave:=1, uiFC:=5, uiLEN:=1, uiOFFSET:=0, uiInterval:=500)) and the corresponding output, waits for the response and processes next request in a 5-state procedure. It's working for 2 gateways (stable without errors, although error recovery is included). But nevertheless it should be possible with the Channel definitions of Codesys. Much easier to maintain :)

Post by brouwyka on JSONByteArrayWriter problem? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hey there! I am currently running into the exact same issue. The JsonData object has all inexes & parent indexes in the way I expect, everything is correctly "linked". It purely seems that the writer is incorrectly parsing said JsonData, not based on parent & child index, but on something else that breaks it and puts things at the root, instead of the specified parent index. Did you ever manage to find a solution, or another way of achieving your JSON composing? I'm currently working on Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 7 with IIOT Libraries SL 1.13.0.0, specifically JSON Utilities SL 1.13.0.0 (to send requests to APIs with JSON bodies using Web Client SL 1.13.0.0).

Post by jeindhoven on Deploying to raspberry pi 5 hangs CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi CoDeSys support forum, hope that this is the correct place to ask this. Might be double as i am new to Codesys and dont know all terminology. I am trying to test Codesys with a virtual plc on a raspberry pi 5. Already figured that i need Tools -> Deploy Control SL, enter Communication parameters. Codesys says "Connected". Then tab "Deployment", there i select "CODESYS Control for Raspberri Pi SL" and "4.16.0.0 (all)". Click "Install" and the gui turns grey and unresponsive. The titlebar says "Untitled1.project - CODESYS (Not Responding)" as well. Restarting Codesys and checking shows no package was installed. How to deploy the runtime? Thank you in advance for your time. Edit: After some patience, an error showed up: "Error when sending ssh heartbeat: Session operation has timed out" "Error installing codesyscontrol" Any pointers to what remote command might have failed, or log of some sort, would be welcome.
