Hello everyone I want a communication between my PLC as an OPC UA Server and Labview on my PC as the OPC UA Client. I have an Festo CPX-E-CEC-C1-PN PLC and I have the OPC UA Toolkit from Labview. I created some Variables for testing (see picture 1) on Codesys. I tried to use this Labview block diagram (see picture 2) but I cant connect the PLC to it. What do I have to type in the Server Endpoint URL and what in the Node ID? Is this a good way for communication with a PLC to a PC? If not is there another way?

Hi We upgraded our ptoject from 3.5.19 to 3.5.20 but we get an error message in the latest version. We made our own trend function and its related to this we get error message: Trend_Menu Device: PLC Logic: Application: C0032: Cannot convert type 'RTS_SYSTIMEDATE(systimertc, 3.5.20.0 (system))' to type 'RTS_SYSTIMEDATE(systimertc, 3.5.17.0 (system))' The variables are defined as follow: start : SysTimeRtc.SYSTIMEDATE; end : SysTimeRtc.SYSTIMEDATE; The code that creates the error is the variable start and end IF xAssign THEN xAssign := FALSE; xPanEnable := FALSE; xZoomEnable := FALSE; drs.liFrom := VisuTrendStorageAccess.TrendStorageConvertToTimestamp(start, 0 (us)); drs.liTo := VisuTrendStorageAccess.TrendStorageConvertToTimestamp(end, 0 (us)); drs.m_itfDateRangeSelectorClient.SetCurrentRange(drs.liFrom, drs.liTo); END_IF I cant understand really what the error message means and what can be the cause of the error? Hi k2saki, I would recommend to have a look at SMC_SmoothMerge, followed by SMC_SmoothPath. SmoothMerge will combine the small G1 elements to longer splines, SmoothPath will avoid stops between the splines. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/SM3_CNC/Current/SM_CNC_POUs/SoftMotion-CNC/SoftMotion-Function-Blocks/SMC_SmoothMerge.html For SmoothMerge to work, you have to configure a tolerance, i.e. by how much it may deviate from the lines. Hello everybody I want to controll a stepper driver from Leadshine (EM3E-556E). The EtherCat slave is CiA 402 compatible. Because of this I bought the Softmotion Light Package from Codesys and implemented it in my project. I rightclicked the EtherCat slave and added the Softmotion Light axis. But now the error message shows: "The license is missing or invalid. The PLC runs in demo mode." What have i done wrong? I use Codesys 3.5.17. Is it possible that the stepper driver is not compatible with the Softmotion license? Thanks for all your help

Hallo, auf einer Sabo MKS855.20 habe ich die SoftMotionLight-Lizenz installiert. Zur Programmierung nutze ich V3.5 SP16.0. Die im Projekt verwendete SML 4.7.0.0, SML_Drive_CAN_GenericDSP42 3.5.7.0, CANopen_Manager_Softmotion 3.5.16.0. In der Regel habe ich keine Probleme mit der SoftMotionLight, nur bei dieser Anlage ist es mir jetzt zum Zweiten mal passiert, das ich ein Programmupdate einspiele und die SML in den Demo-Modus wechselt. Die Lizenz ist doch auf der SPS gespeichert, warum wird dann behauptet, dass die SML im Demo-Modus arbeitet. Da ich z. Zt. beim Kunden vor Ort bin und dieser sich im Ausland befindet, benötige ich kurzfristig eine Lösung. Auf E-Mails bekomme ich leider keine Rückmeldung.

ABB Automation Builder v2.5.0.22 Premium CodeSys 2.3.9.62 Running on Win 10 VM x64 Goal: I have an EtherCAT topology issue which normally a "Scan for devices.." on the EtherCAT master would shed some light on. Issue: Upon trying such I get a "No gateway selected" error. Question: How might I point the the "scanner" at a gateway? What is working: Gateway is running in system tray. I can go online to PLC. A scan from the "Diagnostics live" tab of the EtherCAT master gives slave status. What I have tried: Restarting gateway in system tray. Exiting system tray gateway and reloading it. Turning off firewall. Contacting ABB support multiple times. Any help appreciated.

Hello everyone! I have an PLC device that uses modem ppp connection to the internet with white IP. Device PPP connection with modem operator established, so I can connect to this device via SSH also within Codesys IDE (check version, info, etc...) BUT, I cant establish connection to this device in the device gateway options for application upload and debugging. How can I do this? Im trying set my device remote IP and port 11740, but, as I understand, it is wrong decision, because the next logic in this connection: local W10 service (Codesys Gateway) listen on 1217, then (some how) this service scanning local networks for seeking any local IP which listening on port 11740, and then connects and writes there. OR IM WRONG?:) W10 tool 'Test-NetConnection' with parameters 'ip -Port 11740' succeeded with True. Need some help, please :)

Thanks for the response, as I've thought about this problem over the last month I began to suspect this was a problem with not being able to exactly represent .1 as a 32 bit binary number. I think I've found a work around by making the number an integer, then dividing it by 10 and storing that value as a floating point number. There is still an issue with the value not being exact somewhere in the 8th or 9th decimal place, but because I'm incrementing an integer value then dividing it, the error doesn't compound.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to install the CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL package. The computer with CODESYS software is offline for security reasons. So, I downloaded the package on another computer and installed it manually. But this package has dependencies packages: CODESYS.Control SL Extension Package, V4.0.0.0 CODESYS.Control SL Deploy Tool, V4.10.0.0 As I said, the computer with CODESYS is offline. I cannot use the package installer to search for these packages. I did not find them in Codesys Store with another computer. Do you know where to find and download them? Hi! We're using a WAGO PFC200 for several projects towards the energy sector, and recently upgraded to CODESYS V3. We have the "IEC 60870-5-104 Server" package in a test program, and it works well with the package in DEMO mode. However, when we acquired a license for the "IEC 60870-5-104 Server" package and tried to add the license on the PFC200 through the license manager, we get an error (see attached file). It seems like there is no CmContainer on the device, does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? We've also contacted WAGO on this issue a while back with no feedback yet.

I solved this problem by creating a .pfx file and importing it into the security store under 'Own Certificates'(must have SP18 or newer to import .pfx). I used a gitbash shell to enter the openssl command that created the .pfx file. Once you import the file, in your TLS context, set your 'sUseCaseName' to be the same as the name listed in the 'Information' column of your imported certificate. This did it for me

Hi, I'm struggling with updating my xc303 to firmware 3.5.17. It is possible only via USB port. I've installed proper update files on the USB then plug it into the PLC's USB port and restarted the device. Shortly after LED's on the PLC started to blink, so updating process has started. But after 10 minutes the PLC LED turned off and after all I could't serach for this PLC in Codesys, but could ping it. Could someone eplain to me proper procedure of updating the fimrware in XC303 via USB? Is it neccesary to STOP the PLC switch after pluging the USB?

Codesys 3.5 17.30, plc - crevis GN-9373. I need to use RTC of pls for write in registers (need to check difference of writen 100 and 200 registers). For this i try to use SysTimeRtc (SysTimeRtc.SysTimeRtcGet) but its not working. After it i tryed to use SysTimeGetMs and something like this but still not working. Library? Mb but check project, SysTime with SysTimeRtc already, all what i know - already is here. Its my first try to learn ST (early used fbd and ladder, yeah), pls help with it. Mb problem with a syntaxis, but im not sure.

Hi! I'm having trouble connecting to a device in Deploy Control SL. I'm able to see the device is available during a scan, and I can ping the device as well, but when I try to connect I get the message "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it". I've worked on this for hours including turning off the firewall on the device PC but nothing seems to work. The device is running a fresh install of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise 2024 and the Development System is 3.5.21.50 running on Windows 11. Thank you in advance for any ideas!

Two issues. Ive been struggling to get the user management the way I want it. I want to protect the device from unauthorized upload/download, but I do not want login requirement on webvisu. The combination that seems to work is to use "runtime device user management" while keeping the visu user management in "legacy mode"? Initially this seemed to work, but now images are not loaded when using direct access, while they are still shown if I access the webpage via Automation server. Im guessing its connected to the authorization changes? Anyone able to help out? Thanks Also, I read that legacy mode should be avoided, is it possible to use "runtime based visu user management" while keeping direct access to the webpage without login. Version 8.30a of 2025-May-06 (Build 6885) for Linux/ARMHF 64-Bit Copyright (C) 2007-2025 by WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. All rights reserved. List all locally connected CmContainers: - CmContainer with Serial Number 130-XXXXXXXX and version 3.00 (empty) - CmContainer with Serial Number 130-XXXXXXXX and version 3.00 (locked) Result: 2 CmContainer(s) listed. The licence has been activated with a computer Name, but the guy who did it make a mistake in the name, so he changed it after to have activate the licence. I think this has created a second container. The licence is actived on the other container.

My codesys is 3.5.21.30. I am using function ModbusServer from library ModbusTCP_Slave. The reason is that I need share 9000 Holding registers. By standard configuration it is only 4096. fbMbTcpDevice: ModbusTCP_Slave.ModbusServer; fbMbTcpDevice( wPort := 502, pInputData := ADR(awInputReg), pOutputData := ADR(awHoldingReg), uiInputDataSize := 10, uiOutputDataSize := 9000, xEnable := TRUE, tTimeout := 10000, InterfaceName := "eth0", xBusy => xBusy, xError => xError, byClientConnections => byConnections ); Ethernet port is cofigured: Network interface: eth0 IP address: 10.10.22.55 Subnet maskL 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 0.0.0.0 And it only works when I am reading registers with ID 255 by Modbus Poll. Any other IDs don't work. The actual TCP client device try to read registers with ID 1 and I can't change it... Thanks in advance for your help!

You're absolutely right. Sorry for that. In the meantime I wrote a Function block to handle the reads and writes to the different attached RTU-devices. It processes the parameter like (str_Modbus:=(usiSlave:=1, uiFC:=5, uiLEN:=1, uiOFFSET:=0, uiInterval:=500)) and the corresponding output, waits for the response and processes next request in a 5-state procedure. It's working for 2 gateways (stable without errors, although error recovery is included). But nevertheless it should be possible with the Channel definitions of Codesys. Much easier to maintain :)

Hello, I’m encountering the same issue. I only receive these errors when downloading to the PLC—there are no errors during the build—after upgrading to CODESYS 3.5.21.10. I still have the same problem with Codesys 3.5 SP18. Initially, my project is ~5 Mo. I work on it for like 3-4 days and it goes up to ~10Mo. If I make an export of the project and import it in a new empty project, it goes back to approximately 5 Mo. Why is it doing this ?

Hi everyone, is it possible to use selfsigned/created certificates (eg. with X - Certificate and Key Management) as a OPC UA Server certificate in the Security Screen? As far as I know I can only upload client certificates to the PLC and move it to "Trusted", "Untrusted" and "Quarantined". Same question is on sps-forum.de
