It turns out that you can build JSON structures without ever calling the JSONBuilder function block directly. Instead, create a pointer to JSON.JSONData and invoke the necessary methods on its dereference. The parent object has a parent index of -1 (and an index of 0). EVERY other item (including keys, values, empty arrays and sub-objects) created by the setX methods needs the index to increase by 1. Then use the JSONByteArrayWriter FB to generate your JSON string

I'm getting closer to the error. The combination of STRUCT and ARRAY probably causes the strange behavior. As soon as the ARRAY is followed by a variable, the problem arises. Examples: X: ARRAY[1..2] OF INT; // okay Y: ARRAY[1..2] OF STRUCT; // problem Z: STRUCT; Z.ArrayOfInt[1]; // okay Z.ArrayOfStruct[1].Variable // problem // *update - array of array also causes the error A: ARRAY[1..2] OF ARRAY[1..4] OF BOOL; // problem I can't be the only one who has this problem. Or? Maybe there is a solution. Anyone? Or is it a bug after all?

Thanks for your reply. I belive it is contiguous, I'm writing to adress 0 to 4. Or, do you mean something else? Well, something is happening. If I on the client set adress 1,2,3 to true, only 1 is set to true on the server side. On the client side, the data is array of word. But on the server side, the coils are array of bool. Holding register is array of word on server side. Can this be a problem? Attached screenshot of how it looks at the server side.

Thanks Tim! This was exactly the functionality we were looking for. We are already using implicit checks to check for divide by 0 errors, we will add implicit checking for array bounds.

Hello, I'm getting the data in Codesys that is an array of 8 bytes. From this array, I need to foram LREAL number, however, because of different endiannes I need to reverse bytes in this array and then copy to a LREAL variable. For this I'm using a loop and it works OK. I wonder if there is a built in function to do this. I have found CAA Memory library but it has functions like reverse bytes in DWORD. pbPayload is a pointer, which it expects to point at a STRING. If you point it at an address holding a different data type, it will just assume those bytes are part of a string and likely trundle along memory until it finds a null byte (0x00) that would normally signify the end of a string PublishMessage := BOOL_TO_STRING(boolVariable);

First of all you need to enable "Use unicodestrings" in the Visualization Manager. This function returns a pointer to a WSTRING (not STRING). To get this wstring value, do something like this: VAR myWstringVariable : WSTRING(255); END_VAR myWstringVariable := myResult^; // this is dereferencing the pointer to the WSTRING.

I'd like to know if it is possible to have the "Name" field, in the recipe definition, language dependent. Something like to have the possibility to put there a string ID that will be add to the GlobalTextList. In this way it can be translated and when showed in a Visualization screen its value depend on the current language. Thanks.
