I hope the community can help me with this. I need to use the Visu Utils FbOpenDialog to control the opening and closing of a dialog. I have the Opening and Closing working, but I can’t get the dialogue's position to be controlled. The code is compiled, but the position has not been changed. Any guidance or suggestions for revising this code would be incredibly valuable. Your insights could be the key to solving this issue.

Hi Leute , ich bin neu hier im Forum und habe seit kurzer Zeit mein eigenes SPS-Projekt. Ich stoße hin und wieder an Probleme aber habe diese auf kurz oder lang gelöst. Nun zu meinem Problem: Als Projekt habe ich eine Kühlwassersteuerung , die einen Relativdruck einließst, und anhand desssen Werte dann einen Frequenzumrichter ansteuert. Z. Bsp. 5Bar -> FU auf 70Prozent. Ich lese in Codesys den Analogwert mit der Wago A20_750_455_020 ein. Dieser Wert wird umgerechnet mit LIN_TRAFO in 0-10 (Bar)und und wird dann über einen PID Regler geregelt. (Bibliothek UTIL). Dieser Wert wird dann wieder für die Ausgangskarte Umgerechnet (LIN_TRAFO) . Nun zu meinem Problem : Die Ausgangskarte nimmt nur einen Word Datentyp und meine Bausteine haben den REAL Datentyp. Wenn ich einen Konvertierungsbaustein nehme, Schmeist mir Codesys einen Fehler und das Programm wird geschlossen. Könnt Ihr mir helfen? Vielen Dank im Voraus (Datei habe ich angehängt). Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I am also new to Codesys programming. My problem is this: I have a STRUCT of 64 bool and 30 real, this STRUCT is assigned in the programme 9 times. Now I need to communicate with an HMI via Modbus and I have defined the slave device and created the holding registers for communication. I would like to declare the first call of the STRUCT on the Modbus registers %QX2000.0 to %QX2007.7 for the booleans and on the registers %QW1004 to %QW1034 for the real registers. That said, I would like to change an index and set an offset of 100 bytes for the calls of the other 8 assignments, so that the result is: %QX2100.0 to %QX2107.7 for the booleans and on the %QW1104 to %QW1134 registers for the Real registers, etc. Is there a way to declare this? I know I'm thinking about this wrong -- too many decades of procedural and event-driven programming and only a few months of PLC ST programming...... I've created a visualization with a button that when pushed calls a method. I want the method to take a pressure reading, wait one minute and then take another pressure reading. I'm looking for leaks. I'm using TON for the delay. It seems like what is happening is that the method gets called once and it takes the first reading and starts the TON. But then execution continues, leaves that method call, and the second reading never happens. I can force the method to keep running until the whole thing is done with a While loop, but I understand that is considered BAD in PLC programming. If it push the button again to call the method again, it picks up where it left off and if the timer is complete then it runs the remaining code. How do I keep that method running until it is complete with just one call without using a while loop that ties up the PLC for a minute? Thanks! -Farren

Hi all, I am using CoDeSys V3.5 and a soft controller Win V3x64. I am trying to read a modbus slave via Function Blocks and not via the channels of the hardware tree for the Slave. I created some requests of type ModbusRequest and I notice that I can read Input Registers and Coils but I can not write Holding Registers and Coils. I am using the library IoDrvModbusTCP 4.1.0.0. When i just use a single modbus request with FC06 (or FC16), there is no request sent to the slave and although the xExecute takes its true value from a pulse of 2 seconds duration, I take almost every 3 minutes an error "TCP_COMMUNICATION_ERROR - 16#A5 - TCP Port. error. Request was not sent". My code is ok because if i change the function code for reading registers, everything works fine. Did anyone have this issue in the past? Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone. I hope this is the right place to ask for help, this error is causing me a great amount of time loss and I really would like to end this nightmare. I don't know why but at times if I try to Browse -> Display Cross Reference on a variable Codesys just crashes. I'll attach the file with the complete crash report hoping someone can figure why it happend. I think that the unhandled exception comes from the PersisranceManager Module and is connected with the other big problem I'm facing: I cannot refactor in my project, if I'll try to refactor a POU name the whole POU will become "frozen", it's like its desynchronizing from the project and the project cannot find the pointer to the POU once I refactor it. And when I open the project a warning pop-up will show up with the frozen POUs name, but I cannot figure out what the warning is telling me. I'll attach every warning and error pop up the project is showing me, and thanks in advance to anyone who can figure something out.

The OPC UA Server is running on an RTE CX device, and the HMI is running on another computer. I have reviewed many CODESYS documents and successfully established communication when the security mode is set to None with Anonymous login. However, when security is enabled, the server does not provide its certificate for the CODESYS HMI client to trust. Interestingly, the client can send its certificate to the server, and UAExpert works normally, but the CODESYS HMI client does not receive the server certificate. Can anyone help clarify what I might be missing? I have been stuck on this issue for three days. If I missed or misconfigured any step, please let me know. In order to use SoftMotion Light, a servo drive needs to support CiA 402 operating modes: Profile Position (PP), Profile Velocity (PV) and Homing Mode (HM). https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20SoftMotion%20Light/_sm_light_requirements.html According to the Lenze i950 documentation you linked in your post, none of these modes are supported. Not even Homing Mode which explains why MC_Home does not work even with the full SoftMotion. The full SoftMotion uses Cyclic Synchronous Position Mode (CSP) but still uses Homing Mode (HM) when using MC_Home. You can monitor PDO 0x6060 (Mode of Operation). When using SoftMotion Light you will see it set to 1 (PP) for a MC_MoveAbsolute_SML and MC_MoveRelative_SML and to 3 (PV) for MC_MoveVelocity_SML and to 6 (HM) for MC_Home_SML. When using the SoftMotion instructions, it will pretty much always be set to 8 (CSP) except when using MC_Home, then it will be set to 6 (HM).

We make heavy use of internally developed libraries, which are often nested on multiple levels. I routinely work simultaneously on several libraries along with a project that use them. I make changes to a library and immediately perform a download (online or otherwise) in the project. For the longest time, we had zero issue with this. But starting a good while back, with 3.5 SP19 I think, CODESYS started not noticing library updates in other instances most of the time. When the update is missed, the project sees no need to update the code, and any download ignores the new code. A "Clean all" does not solve the issue. But if I close and then re-open the project, then the new version is noticed and the download works. The other solution is saving the library to the registry multiple times (say, 20-30 times, less if lucky), and then at some point the project notices the changed library. I am now on SP21, and it is still not fixed. This is driving me mad, any tasks probably takes me double the time or more due to this problem. My colleague has the same problem on a separate computer. Is this a known issue? Is there a setting somewhere that changes how updates are checked? Thanks for any help!

Hi, We are working to provide our customers with CODESYS operation on our hardware product ( https://elprotech.com/product/el-qe-e-quantum-edge-series/ ). I'm trying to enable a CODESYS license (Soft container) on our product running ARM64 linux. This problem am having looks similar to here: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/6d29b6b4de/ and here: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/a2d0c63375/; but I am not running docker, and I am not re-installing a license. This is first time install. I have CODESYS Control SL running on my device, as well as CodeMeter. I purchased a license, and installed it to the CODESYS Development system, (Tools >> License Repository) then tried to install to the device (Tools >> License Manager >> o Device >> o Soft container >> Remote [0001] >> OK. This gives me the "License Manager - Overview" dialog, and the message "Licensing info not available. There is no dongle attached to the device." I had this code working in a previous version of CoDeSys to read variables from a GVL that were added to the Symbol configuration. The problem now is that when I get the _IBaseTreeNode_Parent, it returns a valid interface, but none of the methods or properties work. If you monitor the _IBaseTreeNode in the watch window, it does show the correct child count. However, it fails at step 30, where the child count incorrectly returns zero. In the image, you can see that the watch window displays the correct value that the property should return. Attached is the full project code. Hello all, I have been trying to implement a TCP client on a Festo PLC (CPX-E-CEC-M1) and it looks like it works well except that after some time (greatly varies between a few hours to more than 100h) my PLC crash. When I look into the log file the only thing I see is that before the crash happens a few kernel warnings : N0HZ_local_softirq_pending 80 and then the crash. I've looked into this warning and from what I could find on the net it seems that this is warning is triggered when the ethernet link is down. I've tried to correct this bug for quite some time and what I know is that : - The crash is caused by my TCP client, when I remove it from my code I see no crash - The crash happens more quickly the more the TCP client is used. - The time before the crash is not directly proportional to the number of communications or their size. But it looks like it is just more likely to happen if the client connect to the server at a higher frequency. - The precedent observation makes it seem unlikely that the crash is caused by some memory overflow because then the crash speed would be more proportional to the amount of data exchanged. SO from these observations, I believe that the crash could be caused by the PLC trying to connect to a server while there is some kind of issue with the ethernet link resulting in the PLC getting stuck in some indefinite state and making it crash. This still seems a bit unlikely to me because if the ethernet is down it simply shouldn't be able to contact the server and the communication would just fail which doesn't cause my PLC to crash. Has anyone encountered the same kind of problem (with the same kernel message) ? I am pretty sure the warning is not the direct cause of the crash but just an indicator that something is wrong with my PLC. Thanks in advance

Hello, I am new to Codesys and PLC programming in general (please go easy ha!) I'm not looking for code to be written for me just some help and pointing in the right direction. I am writing some code to send commands to a relay based on input values (to put it simply). Quite basic stuff. I have wrote a function block that takes a global variable (Open_command:BOOL) and outputs to another global variable (Opened : BOOL). The function block is simulating a device so I'll eventually get the globals from that. I now need to create multiple versions of this function block/ device (lets say 100) but I need each iteration of that function block to reference it's own relevant global variable. I think that the best way of doing this would be to use arrays, although I could be wrong. I am aware that for up to 100 instances I could very well manually assign everything but that seems rather time consuming and I want a fancier way of doing it. Here is a very basic example of what I am looking to do, please note I have not written this in proper code it's just to show what I mean. Global Variables V[0-100] int Open_command [0-100] Bool Opened [0-100] Bool Function Block var input x : BOOL Var output y : BOOL if x then y = TRUE ELSE y = FALSE The input to my function block will be Open_command, output will be Opened Example code. If V[x] > 10 then Open_command [x] = TRUE ELSE Open_command [x] = FALSE (So when V1 goes above 10 I need Open_command1 = TRUE therefore initiating FB1 output. V2 > 10, open_command2 = True > FB2 output V3 > 10, open_command3 = True > FB3 output ... ... ) What I can't seem to figure out is how to tie all this together, I have read through the codesys documentation and if anything it has confused me more! ha. Have the same issue: I'm making a test setup for modbus devices testing and calibration. One is run for every possible address, and it starts with minimal request: if the device is found, it continue to work with it, otherwise it's set to Disabled temporary. Those state machines are running under FOR cycle, and disabled are just skipped. Every instance have its own timer for not running too frequently and a start delay, so the actual requests are separate in time. I also check not for a single error, but have some timer to allow one-two timeouts. The small program disables and re-enables devices temporary (manually, since i could not iterate over MB devices). Hi Everyone, I have a simple project with a single servo, but its my first time using Codesys and motion, so I'm a little confused and lost, I've tried to read the tutorial online, but I'm not having much luck sorry. Can I please ask for some pointers. I have a ComfilePi HMI (Raspberry Pi) communicating to a Omron R88D-1SN08H-ECT amplifier. Please see the attached project file (which is better for sharing, the project file, or a archive?). This file was simply for testing the motion of the servo before anything else is tested with it. The project simply rotates the servo 1 rotation when called for, but the speed can vary based on user input. Nothing much fancy. As yet, I haven't had any servo movement, no errors on the amplifier display. How do I link the motion FBs to the physical drive? Thank you very much for any help you can offer. Hi @ph0010421, I tried the program the TimeTaken is calculated when stop is triggered. I want the TimeTaken to be continuously calculated and counting when a BOOL variable is true. Hi all :) I have an plc. This plc has option to be as slave device. There are TCP -> Serial Slave Device and COM -> Serial Slave Device. There are 4096 ModBus holding registers with mark "internal modify" for the both devices above. So, COM Slave has 4096 registers and TCP Slave has 4096 registers. And, finally, I have an ARRAY[0..4095] OF WORD. This array glued with COM Slave and TCP slave. Yes, I need plc's opportunity to be communication both TCP and COM ways for the same registers. For example, the next task structure: * TASK_0: 1. pou_READ_Registers 2. pou_0 3. pou_1 4. ... 5. pou_N 6. pou_WRITE_Registers At the first pou I read registers for the other pous, after job we have sort of state of the plc. At the last pou (6) we write modified registers. It is a good scenario: some one wrote registers for the job, after job we save these (modified) registers. But, what if registers wrote between 1 and 6 pou by operator, for example, at the 3 pou -> the last pou 'pou_WRITE' will rewrite this request from operator. What the right way to work with this logic? Thanks you.

Dear People I’m trying to draw a circle using MC_MoveCircularAbsolute, but I keep encountering an error. The error message is SMC_CP_CIRCLE_CENTER_NOT_ON_BISECTOR. What I’m trying to do is simply draw a circle with a diameter of 20, starting from the point X=0, Y=0. I’ve set CircMode to center. It seems like a simple task, but the error keeps occurring, and it’s giving me a headache. I’d appreciate your help. I’ve also attached the program, so please provide any advice you can. I want to use the mode as the center. I've tried changing multiple coordinates and it won't run. When evaluating Codesys functionality, I found that the VPLC tab under Deploy Control SL > Operation > VPLCs is 'grey-ed out', see attached image. I'm trying to evaluate how my infrastructure will interact with Codesys on a Raspberry Pi 4, so I'm trying to demo running it before purchasing licenses. I was going through the Codesys tutorial here, and it never shows the tab as grey, so I do not know how to proceed. Let me know if I can get any additional information that can help. This could be related to an Info message that's sent when connecting- [INFORMATION] Connected successfully! [INFORMATION] Successfully connected to target (<ip_address>) [INFORMATION] No supported container engine found on device. You have to install a supported container engine to use Virtual Control. Please contact the Administrator of the device. [INFORMATION] Finished reading device information</ip_address> I'm not exactly sure what I would need to do to install a 'supported container engine'.
