Hello, I got a bit of a weird issue going on which is kind of annoying. So recently we switched a lot of Modbus IO to EtherCAT, as we were having issues with stability. All works fine, which is great. But sometimes when I change the program I get errors claiming that identifiers are not defined. Meaning I can't go online. See the picture below. I believe this is because some of these identifiers were used with Modbus, and they weren't properly removed/deleted? A clean all temporary fixes the issue, but it comes back again after a while of changing the code, and building. Any way to fix these non-existing required identifiers, or even find out where they are required? Thanks for the help in advance. Jasper.

Does anybody know how to get a specific text from a text list within a program. Obviously it works in a visualization, but because I will have an HMI that has it's own system and I will have to send variables to this HMI via an OPC UA connection, I need to be able to get a text into a string. I tried using the VisuElems like this, but it only returns an empty "" and nothing else. I'm currently reworking the controls on a cnc press brake and wanted to load various recipes as programs to run. I'm using a 2d array of REALs to store the X and Y coordinates as well as some other program parameters in a recipe. I'd like to store all of the recipes on a computer used as the HMI that way the text files can be edited and uploaded offline. I'm using Automation Directs P2CDS-622 Can this be done through webvisu? If not would a license for Codesys HMI SL on the computer allow me to accomplish this? I've attached the Project File Thanks, Spice

Hi Guys, I'm new to CODESYS on the pi and I'm struggling to get it working. My issue is that the runtime keeps stopping after approximately 15 seconds. I have installed the runtime package 4.11.0.0 on the pi, trying on both a 64 bit and 32 bit OS. Looking at old forums it all references the 4B and the fact they used 32 bit Debian bullseye (the last version of raspberry pi os) however the pi 5 doesn't offer this version when I try select it in the imager. Has anyone managed to get running using the pi 5? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Adam

I have a version of codesys 3.5.16 on my local machine and a vm. The local machine has loads of codesys versions and libraries installed etc. I can open the FPosCR_Example_Project_SP16_patch1 project on my vm without any errors. On the local machine I get the error C0077: unknown type IoDrvEthercatLib.ETC_CO_SdoWrite. I can, on the local machine, declare a var of type IoDrvEthercatLib.ETC_CO_SdoWrite and include it in the code without adding an extra error. The problem only seems to affect the library. This is seems more an issue with my codesys set up rather than something with festo. I would like to know the possible causes. I understand most of the library manager features but it's not clear how to find the cause. Thanks

4.11 appears to solve the problem. Thanks for your help. I had first installed the 64-bit version of RPiOS, but looking at various posts and the product's page on the store which only lists 32-bit compatibility, I downgraded to the 32-bit version. I did this before trying 4.11, and it did not solve the problem. Thus my working system is 32-bit, and I am wondering if I can go back to 64-bit or not. An 64-bit OS is not listed as compatible on the store's web page, but when installing there actually is a 64-bit version listed (automatically chosen when installing on 64-bit, but otherwise greyed out). Is 64-bit supported and the website is out-of-date, or is that some kind of work-in-progress?

Hello, i currently want to use a wago 750-8102 with the "codesys control for pfc100" runtime. I want to add the devices connected to the internal pfc100 bus via the "search devices" tab. This was reccommended in the following thread: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Deutsch/thread/7701332199/ But whenever i try to search for devices codesys just doesnt find anything and i cant close the "search devices" window. Has anyone got an idea what the problem might be? I already tried adding the devices connected to the pfc100 manually but the bus just doesn´t start. best regards Moritz

Hello, I am seeing some weird runtime behavior related to the EQ function on a rapsberry pi based system. I have attached a screenshot showing the strange latching I am seeing on the EQ function, and I have not seen this behavior before. I tried freshly restarting the runtime and it has this same behavior. Anyone seen this? I am on 3.5.20 with the latest runtime installed. Basically, as soon as it hits one of those EQ's in the program, it latches effectively locking the output on. Any input from the Codesys team would be appreciated as well as anyone that might know what I am seeing.

Hello, CODESYS Control is running on my RevPi, and my system communicates over a CANbus with a master using the ConnectCan module (Slave - CANopen Device). The communication works perfectly fine so far. However, as soon as I call a Python script with "SysProcessExecuteCommand2" that creates a CSV file and executes without errors, the master does not adopt any changes to the Transmission Process Data Objects (TPDOs). I don't quite understand what one has to do with the other, and perhaps someone can help me with this. Here is my script call: SysProcess.SysProcessExecuteCommand2(pszCommand:='python /home/pi/test.py', pszStdOut:=sCMDOutput, udiStdOutLen:= SIZEOF(sCMDOutput), pResult := ADR(eResult)); Thank you in advance! Hi All, I'm trying to develop a multi-application project that allows me to switch between applications. I currently have a parent application and several child applications, as this is the only way for them to share CAN/Ethernet communication. I've noticed that I am only able to create an Alarm Configuration for the parent application. But the children application do not seem to be displaying alarms on the Alarm Table in the visualisation for when an alarm is raised. Does anyone know of a fix, solution or a way around this? I am utilising Codesys v3.5 SP16 Patch 5 64Bit

Hi everyone, With the latest version of Codesys, it’s now possible to import DBC files directly into the J1939 Manager, which is great. However, I’m trying to achieve the same thing programmatically and can’t find any scripting functions related to import_dbc or any host_parameter that would let me configure PGNs and signal mappings automatically. So far, I’ve managed to add the J1939 Manager and an ECU, and I can pass the DBC database to it, but I’m stuck when it comes to adding the signals. Has anyone figured out if this can be done through scripting? (Attached is an illustration of what I am trying to accomplish programmatically). Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to read data from Tridium Niagara 4.15 OPC UA Server, but I get the error BadCertificateInvalid. Greetings to all, I'm working on a webvisu project on control win V3 x64 runtime, and have purchased 3 licenses for my application. -Codesys Control Standard M -Codesys Visualization L -Codesys Communication M I have them installed on a Codesys usb dongle When I try to download the program, a login error window appears with the message "No valid license found for the webvisualization". The control win v3 communicates with 3 plc, and have enabled communication over codesys V3 communication by adding one datasource for every plc in the datamanager. If I remove the data manager from the project, the rest of the visualisation can be downloaded normally. Do I need to purchase another License and which one? Please find attached the software metrics and the error screen.

Hallo zusammen, ich habe nach einem PC-tausch Probleme mit dem Versenden von Mails. Ich Nutze dazu die die Bibliothek Mail_Service_SL 1.12.0.0. Codesys ist die Version 3.5 SP21 Patch 2. Als Mailserver benutze ich Gmail. Als SMTP habe ich smtp.gmail.com eingetragen und Port 25 oder 465 oder 587 getestet. Connection Typ ist TLS und StartTLS ist true. Wenn ich eine Mail senden will, bekomme ich ein Timeout Fehler. In der Firewall habe ich die Ports alle Freigegeben. Unter Windows 10 hat das auch noch so funktioniert. Mit Windows 11 klappt es nicht mehr. Hat jemand eine Idee, woran das liegen kann?

would be great to have such fucntionality. Sometimes it is not clear for user which elemetns are blocked and which are not - the greyed out eleemtns are not so different for low resolution / low quality screeens. What I have in my mind as well is to have a possibility to detect the visu Element clicked on and get its Access Rights. If it is blocked/deactivated, the dialog can be rised with INFO 'please login first with proper rights'. It is possible now to have a Mose event Handler ( Examples -> EventHandler) and rise the dialog out of ST (Exapmpals -> ST Dialogs). I am struggling still with getting the separate Visu Element under the mouse and its structure info

Trying the web-version of trend-data. This seems to be a impressive tool, but I lack/cant find a number of what I would think are important parts. There does not seem to be a way to get away from the dot.notated variable naming in the legend.. A developer might want the dot-notation but an end-customer will surely not. For instance I want to display 12 temperatures, instead of t1, t2 etc.. they will be named. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_a gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_b gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_c gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t2_a .. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_b.. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_c.. Quite a lot of unnecessary text/data taking space from the actual trend => Is there a way to access/interface the legend-data programmatically so I can change the presentation/naming?

There seems to have been included an updated in the last release 4.9.0.0 or am I wrong (I think I tried out these settings previously without giving the result I wanted contrary to what I see today)? Now an empty check box for "display variable name" is effective, and will present the Variable with the "Description" instead. Perfect! Seems to be some minor formatting still that needs adjustment. See attached screenshot. The apostrophe "'" between "description" I suppose should not be there? Also I guess the same apostrophe (although not visibly shown) gives an extra space between the variable-description and the ":"?? Thanks!

Ich bin mir vollkommen im Unklaren: muss da was auf dem Raspberry Pi im Hintergrund laufen , z.B. raspivid . Welcher Programmteil bedient die Cam ? Ich erkenne auch nicht, wo ein einzelnes picture entstehen soll. Wäre dankbar, wenn ich hier etwas Hilfe bekommen könnte. Evtl. gibt es Probleme mit der von mir verwendeten Codesys-Version 3.5.20.1 ? Hello, i am trying to read multiple lines from csv file with caa file library and oscat. I have wrote 7 lines in the csv with separation '$R$L'. In my "extracting values" part I check line feeds and chars. After that I convert my buffer to string with oscat but I'm only able to read the first line from the csv. No matter if I even change start position where I start converting the buffer, I only get the first line. You are right, that you can use the GetState method, but it is not that simple. You first have to get a list of (filtered) alarms from the AlarmManager. You can find an example in Forge how to do this. See https://forge.codesys.com/prj/codesys-example/alarm-manager/home/Home/ Then you can go through this list to get the state of all the (filtered) alarms. See below the code which you could use. Since version 19 they changed how file access is handle. There are two solutions: 1. You change where the file is stored (need to go to: /PlcLogic/) 2. You can, if you don´t want to store at PlcLogic, add the following line in the CODESYSControl.cfg under [SysFile]: ForceIecFilePath=0 The CodesysControl.cfg is at C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\xxPROJECT_NUMBERxx\ Here the email they sent me: "with the 3.5.19 Version we changed how files are handled. See following issue: CDS-81506 - CODESYS Control SysFile system file access vulnerability. There are two solutions: 1. You change where the file is stored (need to go to: /PlcLogic/) 2. Hi, We are working to provide our customers with CODESYS operation on our hardware product ( https://elprotech.com/product/el-qe-e-quantum-edge-series/ ). I'm trying to enable a CODESYS license (Soft container) on our product running ARM64 linux. This problem am having looks similar to here: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/6d29b6b4de/ and here: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/a2d0c63375/; but I am not running docker, and I am not re-installing a license. This is first time install. I have CODESYS Control SL running on my device, as well as CodeMeter. I purchased a license, and installed it to the CODESYS Development system, (Tools >> License Repository) then tried to install to the device (Tools >> License Manager >> o Device >> o Soft container >> Remote [0001] >> OK. This gives me the "License Manager - Overview" dialog, and the message "Licensing info not available. There is no dongle attached to the device." Hallo Edwin, ich bräuchte mal eine schnelle Hilfe. ich testete einen zweiten Raspberry Pi 4 mit meinem Lizenzdongle eines laufenden Raspberry. Der 2. Raspberry ist als Redundanzlösung bei einem Crash gedacht. DIe Schwierigkeiten begannen, als ich mit dem Raspberry 4 V1.5 nicht mehr mit SP16 weiterarbeiten konnte. Ich updatede auf SP20.1. und die Schwerstarbeit begann. Das Image wurde rübergeschoben und alles auf dem zweiten Rechner soweit zum Laufen gebracht. Der Dongle wurde ebenfalls am 2. Rechner eingesteckt. Ob er überhaupt wirkte, kann ich nicht sagen, da für diesen Testfall Codesys so oft rauf und runter gefahren wurde, das die 2h-Grenze kaum erreicht wurde. Problem: Beim Zurückstecken des Dongles in den ursprücnglichen Rechner ist alles an Lizenzen weg. Der Lizenzmanager hat keinen Container mehr und der Befehl "lsusb" bringt nichts zurück. ich war der Meinung, das der Dongle genau für diesen Zweck gedacht war - die Lizenz von einem Rechner zum anderen mitzunehmen. Liege ich da falsch ? Wie komme ich nun wieder zu einem funktionfähigen Dongle ?? Weitere Versuche unternahm ich mit dem Wiederherstellen des Dongels. Dabei steckte ich ihn in meinen PC (Workstation) und siehe da, es werden noch 3 von ehemals (2020) 6 Lizenzzeilen angezeigt: (siehe Bild Problem_Lizenzen_Raspberry.jpg) Dann versuchte ich das Wiederherstellen über eine Lizenzaktualisierungsdatei vom Lizenzserver. Da kommt aber eine Datei mit anderem Dateityp (..WibuCmRaC) als im Lizenzmanager gesucht (WibuCmRaU). Die Datei ist dem Lizenzmanager auch nicht genehm (Bild Problem_Lizenzen_Raspberry_2.jpg). Nun steht Codesys auf besagtem Raspberry alle 2h still. Das soll die Lizenz doch verhindern. Angeblich soll seit SP13 auch kein eigenes Backup mehr nötig sein. Bis zum Erhalt des nicht brauchbaren Linzenzfiles hat da sja geklappt. Ich kann auch im Lizenzmanager keinen Punkt "Lizenz wiederherstellen" finden. Hat sich da mit SP20 etwas geändert? Wenn ich mir eine neue Lizenz hole - wie bringe ich sie auf den Dongle (der ja jetzt nicht "nagelneu" ist). Ich fürchte, das geht auch bloß schief. Im Voraus vielen Dank Thomas

Dear forum, I currently have a big question mark above my head, and maybe this forum can shine some light on the situation. I recently updated to Codesys 3.15 SP19 Patch 6. And now I’m trying to setup the OPC-UA server, besides that I’m trying to connect to the controller with the Codesys V3 (Ethernet) protocol. OPC-UA I have installed the correct licenses on my controller (Runtime and communication). I’m able to connect to the controller with an OPC-UA client, and I’m able to browse the tags, so far so good. Therefore I’m assuming that the OPC-UA server is running on the controller. But now the strange part, in the device security settings I have set the communication Policy to BASCI256SHA256 ( I also have tried the other ones) and the communication mode is set to secure if possible (I also have tried all the other ones) (see picture). With these settings I would assume that I would only be able to login with a Basic256SHA256 policy with a client. But the opposite is true, I am able to login using the no policy mode and when I set it to Basic256SHA256 the client (UA-Expert) notes that this policy is not available on the server. I then check the certificates and I noted that there is no certificate for the OPC-UA server, I tried to generate one but it gave the error that the certificate has not been created by the device (See picture). To summarize I have no clue what is going on, and the controller does the opposite of what I would expect. Codesys Ethernet V3 driver I have a HMI connected to the same controller using the Ethernet V3 driver. But this will not connect. I tried all the Protocols (see picture), with and without the username and password enabled. But it will not connect, when I scan the available servers I can see the controller with the port number that I am expecting, so I’m assuming that the Codesys V3 ethernet driver is up on the controller. Does anyone can give me some direction, because the stuff that I tried doesn’t make sense to me. Thank you in advance
