Hi, since the latest update it seems the OnDialogClosed is not called anymore?? using CODESYS SP20 Patch 3 with CODESYS Visualization 4.6.0.0 I am using LoadWriteRecipe to load a recipe file from disk (with some custom dialog settings), and I need to run a function (Recipes_LoadFromRecipeData()) afterwards which I execute when OnDialogClosed is closed with OK button. I'm not really sure what you are trying to do, but maybe you are referring to using the CmpCharDevice library? When you "open" the connection to a device, you can pass flags. What helped me is to set the non-blocking flag. Hi Gatto, Using version 3.5.21.xx, it is no longer possible to use Modbus function blocks (I make extensive use of these FBs.)as shown in the example. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_modbus_example.html The compiler detects one Modbus instance for each instance of the communication FB block. The example program above, although simple, reports 8 Modbus instances when compiled with the latest version. Codesys Support says that you must use fieldbus I/O mapping, but this will result in the loss of the ability to programmatically modify communication parameters. Sandro

Hello, I tried using the CSV Utility SL Example from the CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL. No matter what path I try, I can not get the InitSave to work from CSVWRitersSTExample, line 2. It always gives the error 'CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY'. I am running this on an Windows Azure VM, with Codesys Control Win V3 x64. I added a folder called 'temp' to my C: so that the default 'C:/temp' would work. However it gives CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY. I tried updating to 'C:\temp' with the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dear reader, I am using the codesys JSON utilities SL, 1.9.0.0 library. And then specifically the FB JSONBuilder. I need to create a main object with at least 2 objects in it. The first object is no problem, but I cannot insert the second object into the main object. See attached my code and the result I get. @ducng, Another possible situation could be that normally there are 3 inputs for MC_Power. In your above images, I can't see the "bDriveStart" input activated. As Mr. @gseidel mentioned, you need to make sure MC_Power.Status output should be TRUE. Issuing any movement command without activating the axis would naturally result in an error. For MC_Power; You can set the Enable and bDriveStart inputs to TRUE and try turning the axis activation on and off using only the bRegulatorOn input. Regards, Imdat

Hello, I have a problem that randomly appeared today. When trying to scan a network adapter in "Deploy Control SL" the whole program hangs and needs to be restarted. I have been running "CODESYS v3.5 SP21 Patch 3" for a while and it has worked without any issues until now. I've tried upgrading to "CODESYS v3.5 SP21 Patch 4" with the same result. I've not made any system settings recently that im aware of which could cause this. Has anybody had similar a issue?

Hi, I have been trying to use CryptoGenerateHash from the CmpCrypto Implementation library. My code is taken almost directly from the CryptoDemo.project example provided on Codesys Forge, yet the CryptoGenerateHash function does not write to the address listed in pHash. Its important that you know the difference between the two. Example 1: Coils[0] := Coils[0] OR (Buttons[0] AND Sensors[0] > 6); In this case the statements will be evaluated every scan and result in either true or false for Coils[0]. Example 2: IF NOT Coils[0] AND Buttons[0] AND (Sensors[0] > 6) THEN Coils[0] := TRUE; END_IF In this example Coils[0] will latch the result in a true evaluation, if you want it to behave the same way as example 1 then you need to do it like example 3 below: IF NOT Coils[0] AND Buttons[0] AND (Sensors[0] > 6) THEN Coils[0] := TRUE; ELSE Coils[0] := FALSE; END_IF However back to the real question. There is no problem using either example 1 or example 3, if im not requiring a latch i usually go with example 1 as it is more compact.

I am trying to implement a mechanism to send alarm SMS. For this, I have created an Alarm Class with a Notification Action which calls a POU. This POU implements IAlarmNotifiable making it selectable in the Alarm Class configuration. IAlarmNotifiable has an Execute method which is called by the alarm class. Now, I want to extract the alarm message of the triggered alarm. The Execute method comes with a VAR_INPUT itfAlarm: AlarmManager.IAlarm which supplies a method called GetMessage. The help text says: Returns the message text, that has been configured for the alarm. The result is a pointer to the buffer, where the message text is stored The type of the result is CharBufferPtr, and at some place I read that it can be interpreted as a pointer to string. But I cannot manage to extract the alarm message, all I get are numbers. I have tried the following: psAlarmText := itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^; sAlarmText := TO_STRING( itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^ ); So how do I get access to the alarm message as clear text? Hi, I am trying to create a log in my application. Since I cannot find any documentation regarding modifying the codesys configuration file to be able to log in ms, i tried to create a new log via CmpLog.LogCreate. Below is the part of the code where I create the logger and write a test string. In the log tab of codesys I actually see the new log that was created, but it is empty, and in the folder I cannot find any files. I can't find any detailed documentation. Can you guys give me support? Are there any examples? Issue 1 — First row not displayed when using Maximum array index with 1-based arrays Description: When displaying data from an array that is indexed starting from 1 (e.g., ARRAY[1..N]), and the number of displayed rows is limited using the Maximum array index property, the first row of the array is not shown in the visualization. Steps to reproduce: Create an array indexed from 1 (e.g., ARRAY[1..N]). Bind the array to a Table element. Limit the number of displayed rows using the Maximum array index property. Run the visualization. Actual result: The first array element (index 1) is not displayed in the table. Issue 2 — Tooltip string placeholder cannot be bound to string variable from array Description: It is not possible to use a string placeholder in the tooltip that is bound to a string variable from the array. Steps to reproduce: Use a table bound to an array containing string variables. Configure a tooltip using a string placeholder referencing a string field from the array. Run the visualization. To change the color of search result markings (the "find color") in the CODESYS Text Editor using Themes, follow these steps: Go to the menu: Tools → Options. In the Options dialog, select the Text editor category. Switch to the Theme tab. Here, you can select your desired color theme for the text editor. The available color schemes (themes) are stored in the installation directory in the Themes folder. To specifically adjust the color for search result markings, go to the Text Area tab within the Text editor options. Here, you can customize the Selection color – Inactive parameter, which determines the color used to highlight search results. Changing the theme will apply a new set of color settings, including those for selections and search highlights. Hello, I have a project using some EPEC PLC's. Some of them are programmable using Ethernet and some use CAN. We currently have a Raspberry Pi that is acting as a gateway to the Codesys Automation Server and is successfully working for the PLC's communicating over ethernet. I am trying to achieve a similar result for the PLC's that have only CAN access. I have PEAKCan drivers on the Pi, and can successfully send/receive messages. But the Gateway does not recognise the PLC when scanned from the Automation server online. Is there a library or service that exists to translate the CAN messaging, to the Edge Gateway, and be able to achieve remote access with the Automation Server? Or is this not possible without creating something custom? Cheers, Daniel

After my tests, I noticed two issues. 1- WinCC disconnects the connection after receiving the GetEndPointResponse message from CoDeSys. (I found it with UAExpert and Wireshark.) 2- It establishes a connection despite waiting for a while on the network with DNS. As a result of this information: I solved the problem by adding the line "193.193.193.150 t9pac" to the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file and making Windows accept messages coming from the IP number 193.193.193.150 as coming from t9pac. (t9pac is the name of my PLC running CoDeSys.) If there is a setting that will allow CoDeSys OPC UA to respond to GetEndPointRequest with its IP address, this problem will not occur.

We use several control units running on Raspberry Pi, programmed using Codesys software, with multiple licenses stored as soft containers. We are planning to update the SD card image of the Raspberry Pi to a newer OS version. However, we are concerned that this process might result in the loss of our soft container licenses. Is there a way to temporarily deactivate the license so that it can be reactivated on the updated system? Alternatively, what would be the best method to preserve the licenses during the update? so from what i've learned. Codesys OPCUA Server can only provide OPC UA Methods, when they are created in an XML Model beforehand. So you have to create the XML Model with OPC UA Methods. Then load that model into codesys and create the IEC Blocks. This is automated Code and will create all the variables and Methods from your XML Model. Then they will be displayed on discovery with an OPC UA Client. As far as I understood. There is no way for Methods to be shown in OPC UA when not using an external XML Informationmodel. Codesys can not yet create the informationmodel on itself. Regards

I have a problem which I have identified with a device-update from 4.14.0.0 to (4.15.0.0-4.17.0.0) where the newer versions will stop any local access to the internal web page with the browser responding "The requested URL requires authentication". Setting the device back to 4.14.0.0. the web page will respond. Access to web page through Automation server is possible also for the newer version, but not "local" access. Runtime (Codesys control for linux SL) is on 4.17.0.0. I have tried to manipulate settings for 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' '*' always; through nginx (normally a proxy_pass to localhost:8080). Also tested bypassing nginx by accessing 8080 directly with the same result.

Hello. In Codesys version 3.5.19.50 when comparing two projects that have an "Alarm Configuration" obj from the Alarm Manager library vers. 4.5.0.0 the attached error pops up. This originally happened with two projects that I converted from vers. 3.5.17.30 so, thinking it was some conversion issue, I created two clean projects directly in 3.5.19.50 using the Standard Project template and only added the Alarm Configuration objects in them. The result is the same and the only way I found that allowed me to compare them is by deleting the incriminated object in one of the two projects. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Best regards

Hi DavidBo, In general Codesys is used to control equipment and an exception is the worst thing that can happen in your installation. If you cannot prevent the exception from triggering, you could implement a Try catch statement, with this solution your controller keeps on running and you are able to handle the exception. __TRY //This statement will trigger an exception Result := 4/0; __CATCH(exc) //Handle the exception HandleException(exc, strExceptionText => strExceptionText); // From the Codesys help file //Create a log file //-------------------------------------------------------- __ENDTRY What you also could do is implement implicit checks, these functions cover most of the exceptions (like dividing by zero) See picture But in general avoid a complete controller shutdown!

Hello Every one, During testing of OPC UA communication between UA Expert software and the CODESYS SoftPLC on a Linux environment, an observation was made. When the Ethernet cable was disconnected and reconnected with 2-minute intervals, on the 5th attempt, the OPC UA connection failed to establish in UA Expert software. At this juncture, restarting the CODESYS SoftPLC enabled the reestablishment of OPC UA communication. The same result was obtained when testing on a Raspberry Pi SoftPLC. What is the reason behind this phenomenon? and whether there are settings to stop this behavior? Please help. Thanks & Regards.
