Dear reader, I am using the codesys JSON utilities SL, 1.9.0.0 library. And then specifically the FB JSONBuilder. I need to create a main object with at least 2 objects in it. The first object is no problem, but I cannot insert the second object into the main object. See attached my code and the result I get. @ducng, Another possible situation could be that normally there are 3 inputs for MC_Power. In your above images, I can't see the "bDriveStart" input activated. As Mr. @gseidel mentioned, you need to make sure MC_Power.Status output should be TRUE. Issuing any movement command without activating the axis would naturally result in an error. For MC_Power; You can set the Enable and bDriveStart inputs to TRUE and try turning the axis activation on and off using only the bRegulatorOn input. Regards, Imdat

Hello, I have a problem that randomly appeared today. When trying to scan a network adapter in "Deploy Control SL" the whole program hangs and needs to be restarted. I have been running "CODESYS v3.5 SP21 Patch 3" for a while and it has worked without any issues until now. I've tried upgrading to "CODESYS v3.5 SP21 Patch 4" with the same result. I've not made any system settings recently that im aware of which could cause this. Has anybody had similar a issue?

Hi, I have been trying to use CryptoGenerateHash from the CmpCrypto Implementation library. My code is taken almost directly from the CryptoDemo.project example provided on Codesys Forge, yet the CryptoGenerateHash function does not write to the address listed in pHash. RTS_IEC_RESULT is OK, but I am getting nothing out of the function. No errors either, all my libraries are up to date. Any help would be appreicated! Its important that you know the difference between the two. Example 1: Coils[0] := Coils[0] OR (Buttons[0] AND Sensors[0] > 6); In this case the statements will be evaluated every scan and result in either true or false for Coils[0]. Example 2: IF NOT Coils[0] AND Buttons[0] AND (Sensors[0] > 6) THEN Coils[0] := TRUE; END_IF In this example Coils[0] will latch the result in a true evaluation, if you want it to behave the same way as example 1 then you need to do it like example 3 below: IF NOT Coils[0] AND Buttons[0] AND (Sensors[0] > 6) THEN Coils[0] := TRUE; ELSE Coils[0] := FALSE; END_IF However back to the real question. There is no problem using either example 1 or example 3, if im not requiring a latch i usually go with example 1 as it is more compact.

I am trying to implement a mechanism to send alarm SMS. For this, I have created an Alarm Class with a Notification Action which calls a POU. This POU implements IAlarmNotifiable making it selectable in the Alarm Class configuration. IAlarmNotifiable has an Execute method which is called by the alarm class. Now, I want to extract the alarm message of the triggered alarm. The Execute method comes with a VAR_INPUT itfAlarm: AlarmManager.IAlarm which supplies a method called GetMessage. The help text says: Returns the message text, that has been configured for the alarm. The result is a pointer to the buffer, where the message text is stored The type of the result is CharBufferPtr, and at some place I read that it can be interpreted as a pointer to string. But I cannot manage to extract the alarm message, all I get are numbers. I have tried the following: psAlarmText := itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^; sAlarmText := TO_STRING( itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^ ); So how do I get access to the alarm message as clear text? Hi, I am trying to create a log in my application. Since I cannot find any documentation regarding modifying the codesys configuration file to be able to log in ms, i tried to create a new log via CmpLog.LogCreate. Below is the part of the code where I create the logger and write a test string. In the log tab of codesys I actually see the new log that was created, but it is empty, and in the folder I cannot find any files. I can't find any detailed documentation. Can you guys give me support? Are there any examples? Hello, I have a project using some EPEC PLC's. Some of them are programmable using Ethernet and some use CAN. We currently have a Raspberry Pi that is acting as a gateway to the Codesys Automation Server and is successfully working for the PLC's communicating over ethernet. I am trying to achieve a similar result for the PLC's that have only CAN access. I have PEAKCan drivers on the Pi, and can successfully send/receive messages. But the Gateway does not recognise the PLC when scanned from the Automation server online. Is there a library or service that exists to translate the CAN messaging, to the Edge Gateway, and be able to achieve remote access with the Automation Server? Or is this not possible without creating something custom? Cheers, Daniel

After my tests, I noticed two issues. 1- WinCC disconnects the connection after receiving the GetEndPointResponse message from CoDeSys. (I found it with UAExpert and Wireshark.) 2- It establishes a connection despite waiting for a while on the network with DNS. As a result of this information: I solved the problem by adding the line "193.193.193.150 t9pac" to the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file and making Windows accept messages coming from the IP number 193.193.193.150 as coming from t9pac. (t9pac is the name of my PLC running CoDeSys.) If there is a setting that will allow CoDeSys OPC UA to respond to GetEndPointRequest with its IP address, this problem will not occur.

We use several control units running on Raspberry Pi, programmed using Codesys software, with multiple licenses stored as soft containers. We are planning to update the SD card image of the Raspberry Pi to a newer OS version. However, we are concerned that this process might result in the loss of our soft container licenses. Is there a way to temporarily deactivate the license so that it can be reactivated on the updated system? Alternatively, what would be the best method to preserve the licenses during the update? I have a problem which I have identified with a device-update from 4.14.0.0 to (4.15.0.0-4.17.0.0) where the newer versions will stop any local access to the internal web page with the browser responding "The requested URL requires authentication". Setting the device back to 4.14.0.0. the web page will respond. Access to web page through Automation server is possible also for the newer version, but not "local" access. Runtime (Codesys control for linux SL) is on 4.17.0.0. I have tried to manipulate settings for 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' '*' always; through nginx (normally a proxy_pass to localhost:8080). Also tested bypassing nginx by accessing 8080 directly with the same result.

Hello. In Codesys version 3.5.19.50 when comparing two projects that have an "Alarm Configuration" obj from the Alarm Manager library vers. 4.5.0.0 the attached error pops up. This originally happened with two projects that I converted from vers. 3.5.17.30 so, thinking it was some conversion issue, I created two clean projects directly in 3.5.19.50 using the Standard Project template and only added the Alarm Configuration objects in them. The result is the same and the only way I found that allowed me to compare them is by deleting the incriminated object in one of the two projects. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Best regards

Hi DavidBo, In general Codesys is used to control equipment and an exception is the worst thing that can happen in your installation. If you cannot prevent the exception from triggering, you could implement a Try catch statement, with this solution your controller keeps on running and you are able to handle the exception. __TRY //This statement will trigger an exception Result := 4/0; __CATCH(exc) //Handle the exception HandleException(exc, strExceptionText => strExceptionText); // From the Codesys help file //Create a log file //-------------------------------------------------------- __ENDTRY What you also could do is implement implicit checks, these functions cover most of the exceptions (like dividing by zero) See picture But in general avoid a complete controller shutdown!

Hello Every one, During testing of OPC UA communication between UA Expert software and the CODESYS SoftPLC on a Linux environment, an observation was made. When the Ethernet cable was disconnected and reconnected with 2-minute intervals, on the 5th attempt, the OPC UA connection failed to establish in UA Expert software. At this juncture, restarting the CODESYS SoftPLC enabled the reestablishment of OPC UA communication. The same result was obtained when testing on a Raspberry Pi SoftPLC. What is the reason behind this phenomenon? and whether there are settings to stop this behavior? Please help. Thanks & Regards.

This has real-time capabilities (running on separate core(s)). But to be able to use this, you have to install the CODESYS Ethernet driver for your network interface to be able to let the RTE access the network port also in realtime. Hello, we are porting a CNC project from codesys 3.5.16 to codesys 3.5.19. The project has lots of CNC programs with variables. now we get hundreds of messages like this. [WARNING] CNC Test SP19: TestCNC SPS: PLC Logic: Application: C0564: A reference to uninitialized variable varCNC is used for initialization of TestCNC_D. Accessing the uninitialized variable may result in unexpected behavior. The objects program_name_D are implicit generated by codesys. I see no way to generated them after the variables. Is there a way to correct the initialization order? We know how to suppress this warning. But we need a clean solution as the warning already saved us in a other nonCNC project. Attached a small demo of the problem.

There seems to have been included an updated in the last release 4.9.0.0 or am I wrong (I think I tried out these settings previously without giving the result I wanted contrary to what I see today)? Now an empty check box for "display variable name" is effective, and will present the Variable with the "Description" instead. Perfect! Seems to be some minor formatting still that needs adjustment. See attached screenshot. The apostrophe "'" between "description" I suppose should not be there? Also I guess the same apostrophe (although not visibly shown) gives an extra space between the variable-description and the ":"?? Thanks!

Hi, I'm trying to launch a continuously running python script from Codesys and monitor the script status inside the Codesys runtime (running on a Linux enviroment). For now I'm testing with the below to emulate a continuously running Python script: #test.py i = 0 while True: i += 1 I'm able to successfully run the script using SysProcessExecuteCommand2 (I can see the Python process running in the task manager). However, this "freezes" the Codesys execution of the task - it sits on that command and will not continue until the Python script ends. I've proven this works by using the task monitor to kill the process, then Codesys continues on happily through the task. What I want to do is use SysProcessCreate2 to set up the Python script as a background task and monitor the process using SysProcessGetState. This always results in the error "ERR_OPERATION_DENIED". I know that I'm able to execute commands (as above), so my config should be correct. Is SysProcessCreate2 functional on a Linux environment? Is there something in the config file I'm missing? I used the PLCnext Engineer IDE from Phoenix and all Communications where up and running and my PLC program executed successfully. THEN I tried the same PLC Layout with Codesys and Codesys Control for PLCnext. It was not successful and gave me the "Error: Local Bus not Running". I searched the web for answers but was unsuccessful in finding a solution. So I tried to change my configuration and found that the following Modules COULD NOT be recognized by Codesys Control.
