Hi k2saki, I would recommend to have a look at SMC_SmoothMerge, followed by SMC_SmoothPath. SmoothMerge will combine the small G1 elements to longer splines, SmoothPath will avoid stops between the splines. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/SM3_CNC/Current/SM_CNC_POUs/SoftMotion-CNC/SoftMotion-Function-Blocks/SMC_SmoothMerge.html For SmoothMerge to work, you have to configure a tolerance, i.e. by how much it may deviate from the lines. My topic is more of academic nature, I would like to implement an XOR-operation with four inputs on my own (without the predefined XOR-operator) in a function block diagram (FBD). I have two proposals. One works fine and the other one is just an idea, but I do not know, if it is possible to code it in CODESYS V3.5 SP18 in form of a FBD. Here the one that works: And here an idea, which I have not managed to code it as an FBD: Any ideas? Is the 2nd diagram a correct interpretation of the coding task? And is there a way to implement it in form of an FBD in CODESYS V3.5 SP18? Followup (08-Nov-2024): Also in the current version of CODESYS (V3.5SP20Patch3) I have not managed to connect the existing blocks. In the alternative SPS-IDE PLCnext Engineer it is possible.

Hello! I am new to codesys so I am sorry if this is not the right place to ask this question. I am using codesys V3.5 SP20 Patch 1 + (64-bit) and a Groov EPIC PLC (GRV-EPIC-PR2). I am trying to build and deploy my application to the PLC, but when I log in I get 6 errors (codesys_error.png). It seems that the errors have to do with the CmpDynamicText system library which I have as version 3.5.20.0. I have tried to add CmpDynamicText to the ComponentManager section in the PLC's CODESYSControl.cfg file as described in this forum post and still hit the same error. I noticed that the library is grayed out in the library manager, which I think might be the issue. However I don't remember if it was grayed out before I encountered this issue. Please let me know if I can provide anymore info. Thank you!!!

the magic option is named "Use CurrentVisu variable" activate this option in the Visualization Manager an have a look: https://help.codesys.com/webapp/_visu_obj_manager;product=core_visualization;version=3.5.14.0 if your button is pressed, "feed" the string varable VisuElems.CurrentVisu := 'visu1'; with the correct name of the depending visu. alternative: place a frame element at a empty main visu, konfigure all visus to be shown by this frame. With setting the switching variable of the frame to the index value of the depending visu, it will switch to it. Advantage: the visu names are not hardcoded as string in the ladder lodgic. Good luck! Hint: If you have multiple VisuClients(Target, WebVisu,...) all will show the same visu. Independent switching is much more difficult, but there is a example from codesys.

Hi, I’m currently testing the Codesys Redundancy application with 2 Raspberry Pi, with the idea is of using in my project 2 Wago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2 Remote IO. After I configure the redundancy, and one Pi is Active and the other is Passive, if I disconnect the Ethernet cable of the Active, the Passive become Standalone, which is good, but the problem is the following: -When I recover the Ethernet connection, both stay Standalone. They will NOT Sync until I do it manually in the Codesys environment. How to make the synchronization automatically? -If both Pi/PLC stays Standalone, who is managing the IO? (Ethercat and Serial) I have done a test with an Modbus Slave, where I am sending a counter that increase every second. And I see that when both PLC are standalone, they both keep an active connection with the Slave, and both write values. This does not seem good, since according to this in my project both PLC would try to control the IO at the same time. Note: The Codesys have an option (greyed out, not possible to select) which says “Auto Sync”. What is the purpose, and why I’m not able to select it? I'm using Codesys Control for Rapsberry Pi 64SL Runtime in my test environment (2xRaspberry Pi 4), with the idea of using Codesys Control PFC 200 Runtime in my project (2xWago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2x Wago 750-354 Ethercat Fieldbus Coupler). Using the last Codesys 3.5 version (SP19 PAtch 5). I'd appreciate a lot any help on this questions!

I am trying to implement a mechanism to send alarm SMS. For this, I have created an Alarm Class with a Notification Action which calls a POU. This POU implements IAlarmNotifiable making it selectable in the Alarm Class configuration. IAlarmNotifiable has an Execute method which is called by the alarm class. Now, I want to extract the alarm message of the triggered alarm. The Execute method comes with a VAR_INPUT itfAlarm: AlarmManager.IAlarm which supplies a method called GetMessage. The help text says: Returns the message text, that has been configured for the alarm. The result is a pointer to the buffer, where the message text is stored The type of the result is CharBufferPtr, and at some place I read that it can be interpreted as a pointer to string. But I cannot manage to extract the alarm message, all I get are numbers. I have tried the following: psAlarmText := itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^; sAlarmText := TO_STRING( itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^ ); So how do I get access to the alarm message as clear text? (In this case, "Larm 1")

Hi! I thought to hear what you guys think is the best way to test the program in my scenario. I have some PLC programs that have been made and deployed on different PLC's. The program has added the specific devices and IO that is applicable. I have made a test environment for everything outside of the PLC, ie. the same SCADA system that is talking to the PLC, and a program running locally is simulating the plant (level regulation of different tanks). Pr. now I have had to manually change the variables that are reading/writing values from the IO so they read/write via OPC instead. I also have to change the device tree from the specific PLC rack, to the soft PLC. So I kind of end up with two different programs that I have to maintain. I was just wondering if you believe there is an easier way to do this. So I can have the exactly same program and kind of switch between the soft mode, and the "real" mode.

Despite working on it for days, I haven't achieved any results. I followed the necessary steps one by one as mentioned in the file you sent, but there hasn't been the slightest change. I couldn't find the step you mentioned "Set the 'Can Board Type' to PCAN USB" in the Word document. There is no such setting anywhere I looked. Is there a more detailed explanation available, or can you explain it in more detail? What am I missing?

Hello, I am using Codesys sp20p3 and IIoT library 1.11. I am trying to test QoS 1 & 2 and I have some issues. I am using mosquitto as the broker. I am also using some other MQTT clients like Node-Red and TwinCAT. They all work as expected for every QoS levels. I only have issues with Codesys MQTT client. In the Codesys client, if I subscribe to a topic as QoS 1 or 2, and a client publishes to this topic, I receive the message. But if I disconnect the Codesys client from the network and a client publishes to the subscribed topic, when I reconnect Codesys client to the network, I don't receive the messages as expected. Also there does not seem to be an auto-reconnect feature. So I have to manually set the mqttClient.xEnable bit to FALSE then back to TRUE in order to reconnect to the broker, then I also have to set the subscribe.xEnable to FALSE and back to TRUE in order to re-subscribe to the topic, but even then, I don't receive the messages that were published while I was disconnected. What am I doing wrong? I set the cleanSession bit to FALSE and I give my client a clientID. With the TwinCAT MQTT Client, I do the same thing and everything works as expected. It even auto-reconnects to the broker. I would expect Codesys MQTT Client to be as reliable as TwinCAT. Maybe I am doing something wrong? I also noticed that when trying to publish a QoS 1 or 2 message while disconnected from the broker, it does not work. In TwinCAT, I am still able to publish. The messages are stored in the client and published once reconnected to the broker. I would expect to be able to do the same thing in Codesys. Is this all possible? Am I doing something wrong? I have a serial Modbus RTU communicating to the Slave device. But when the control system is not in Run there is no power applied to one of the Modbus Devices. Can I enable / disable the communications to that Modbus Slave in the code based on my running mode, so I don't get all the errors?

Hello, I'm working on a project which includes Panel-PC which communicates with a PLC through Modbus TCP/IP. On the PLC I have a CODESYS code which has Modbus slave objects. The Modbus slave objects have to have manually set IP address in order for them to work properly and the Ip address has to be the PC-Panels's IP. This project is going to a customer and they're using their own IP address realm. So, my question is that is it possible to configure these slaves in some other way, so that the customer doesn't need to modify the CODESYS project? I was thinking that would it be possible to set the IP address of these slaves from external source?

Update: We managed to avoid the warnings by changing the order of initialization by adding an attribute to the GVL with the variables. {attribute 'global_init_slot' := '49989'} The variables are initialized right before the regular GVLs (default GVL slot 49990). Note to Codesys: I see the problem, Codesys needs to initialize the CNC objects before the GVLs so they can be used in the GVL. But then you can't use variables from GVLs in CNC programs. Maybe you could disable the warning in your generated CNC objects? At least a note for a workaround would have been nice.

Hey all CODESYS-experts. I'm at a customer site, and we hade a power-failure and one of the devices apparently runs codesys and has crashed. It's an old device (out of warranty) that is bought many years ago. Now this device doesn't seem to boot. Any idea what to do in this case? We have access to the drive so we have access to the files. See screenshots.

There appears to be a limit to the number of OPC Servers that can be connected simultaenously. 1-10 work but adding an 11th makes one of the previously linked ones unavailable. Is this a soft setting that can be adjusted? Using 3.5.18.30 on Win x64

Maybe also good to know that you could use the CODESYS installer to switch between gateways. - open the CODESYS installer - Select the (hamburger) menu - Select Settings - Select Services Then select the Gateway you would like to use.

Colleagues, i have the same problems. At the current time, I have to use the new version of the Codesys (3.5.20.10) + Control for Linux SL 4.11.0.0, but it works unstable : theree are a lot of freezes and not-respondings. I tested this on different projects: those that were created in the current version of the project, and those that were migrated from other versions of the development environment. Compiling a project without connecting to a controller is fast enough. The first downloading of the code into the controller, too. But as soon as you need to make edits and download a new code problems begin. Codesys "freezes" at the "Generation code" stage for 15-20 minutes. And only after that time loads the code into the controller. Previously, we used version 3.5.17.60 + Control for Linux SL 4.7.0.0. The process took 1-2 minutes. Do you have any ideas how can i fix it? I will be grateful for your answers.
