Post by psychoengineer on Cannot Save CSV File on Windows Computer Using CODESYS and Control Win CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I am currently working on a project using CODESYS and Control Win on a Windows computer. I've encountered an issue where I am unable to save a CSV file. I have followed the standard procedures and used the appropriate file handling functions, but the file is not being created or saved as expected. IF xStartTest THEN sFileName := '\logs.txt'; sFileName := CONCAT(gvl.g_sMainDirectory, sFileName); sFileNameCopy := '\CAAFileCopy.txt'; sFileNameCopy := CONCAT(gvl.g_sMainDirectory, sFileNameCopy); //eWriteState := FILE_OPEN_TRIGGER; xTestDone := FALSE; xError := FALSE; xStartTest := FALSE; END_IF VAR_GLOBAL g_sMainDirectory : STRING := 'C:\LogFiles'; // file path for CSV file END_VAR Despite this, the file does not appear in the specified directory, and no error messages are being generated. I've checked the directory permissions and ensured that the path is correct. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue or have any suggestions on how to resolve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Post by otbeka on CmpCrypto CryptoGenerateHash Not Outputting CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I have been trying to use CryptoGenerateHash from the CmpCrypto Implementation library. My code is taken almost directly from the CryptoDemo.project example provided on Codesys Forge, yet the CryptoGenerateHash function does not write to the address listed in pHash. RTS_IEC_RESULT is OK, but I am getting nothing out of the function. No errors either, all my libraries are up to date. Any help would be appreicated! Post by rossanoparis on Clarifications regarding the appropriate runtime system to use CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hallo all I would appreciate some clarifications regarding the appropriate runtime system to use. I've been using 'KUNBUS CPUs' and 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL' for the last 4 years. Recently, there have been some changes in the CODESYS licensing policy. [ https://store.codesys.com/en/howto_applicationbasedlicenses ] My questions are mainly two: 1) If I need to start a new project using 'KUNBUS CPUs', which is the correct runtime system to use. 2) Old projects built using 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL' should be updated to another RT system? Current RT systems ... a)CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL b)CODESYS Control for Linux ARM SL c)CODESYS Virtual Control SL May I count on receiving an explanation to understand the differences among the runtime systems listed above? A detailed and well-organized answer would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Rossano

Post by rossanoparis on Clarifications regarding the appropriate runtime system to use CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Thank you @TimvH It is clear that licences are application based and now thanks to your reply I could understand the meaning of RT systems. The RT called "CODESYS Control for Linux ARM SL" can be deployed on a generic debian based ARM system. The RT called "CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL" is more specific for Rasberry HW. Did I understand correctly? Regarding the RT called "CODESYS Virtual Control SL" despite its description it is not clear to me when to use it. It seems that a project created using such RT system can be deployed on any HW. It sound good obviously, as it means that it is possible to realize a completely abstract project from its hardware. The only limit could be represented by the need of using a specific HW or OS feature, in that case a more specific RT system should be chosen. Is my last consideration correct? Regards Rossano

Post by razebones on sdo read write codesys 3.5 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
ENG For some reason, I can't bind a variable to the data parameter. Also, why does only the sdo_read4 function work for me? I also can't write through sdo_write4. I can only view the received values via sdo_read4. Please help me with this task. Moreover, I tried to write the values through sdo write 4 and for a while the data stopped being written and I overwritten it manually and sdo read4 started working again and at the same time they do not want to work in the main task.

Post by canplum on Codesys 3.5.21 fails to copy file to USB CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Although I have set in /etc/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl_User.cfg the [SysFile] PlaceholderFilePath.1=/media/pi, $usb$ PlaceholderFilePath.1.View=1 PlaceholderFilePath.1.Volatile=1 I am not able to copy a file to this directory defined by the placeholder. Neither SysProcess.SysProcessExecuteCommand2 nor SysFileCopy nor FileCopy is working. If I try to copy the same file to /home/pi all is working fine. I also can create and open a different file by using SysFileOpen. I don't understand why the system allows to open (create) and write files into that directory but doesn't allow to copy into it. Obviously there is a rights problem with the USB drive. I have already set the permissions to drwxr-xr-x 2 and the user to pi but without any success. With 3.5.16 I never had such an issue. Is there anybody with some hints how to solve that problem? Cheers, canplum

Post by alexgooi on Modbus writing on value change CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi Duvan, You could make this in 1 single object (FB), Indeed don't use a function for this beacuse you need some memory to keep the old value. For i := 0 TO 200 BY 1 DO //Check if the value has been changed IF Old_Value[i] <> Value[i] THEN //Set the trigger to TRUE Trigger[i] := TRUE; Old_Value[i] := Value[i]; END_IF END_FOR If you define the Value array as an In_Out and the Trigger as an In_Out you arn't claiming any aditional memory to your system. You ofcourse then need to add some code arround it that does something with the trigger and writes it back to FALSE again. If you want more flexability you also could use pointers instead of using the IN_OUT FOR i := 0 TO 200 BY 1 DO address := address_Input + i * SIZEOF(*Put type here); IF Address^ <> Old_Value[i] THEN Trigger[i] := TRUE; Old_Value[i] := Address^; END_IF END_FOR

Post by timvh on Clarifications regarding the appropriate runtime system to use CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
If you are not using any specific Raspberry Pi functionality, then probably the "universal" Control Linux ARM SL is the approriate runtime to run on the Pi. For the license it doesn't matter which runtime version you choose, because this is not hardware based anymore, but application based. Best is to use the latest version of CODESYS. To determine which license you need, double click on your device, go to the tab License metrics.... Generate the code for your application and see which license you need based on the metrics of your application.

Post by mark on IO link on IFM AL133x only single digital input on a channel CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have a problem with the CODESYS IO-Link SL software. When I insert a IO link master AL1332 and plug a discrete digital input to a channel it reads only 1 of the 2 available inputs on that channel. Is there anyone who sorted out if the second input is also usable? When we configure the module without the CODESYS IO-Link SL software then the second input on the channel can be used. At the moment we use some channels on a module as IO-link port, and some as discrete IO. It would be very nice if we can use both inputs on a channel with the use of CODESYS IO-Link SL.

Post by reinier-geers on License problem gateway CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
16.4 Epis What has it to do with the manufacture? It just a licence more not. So basicly the idee of codesys sucks. 3s acts like its posible to add a license. And then it depence on the manufacturer. Why ?? Its a computer !! has nothing to do with the manufacturer. Most dont what a basic licence because they have to pay for that. 3s is the problem not the manufacture of the hardware. Its like the licence of the raspberry pi. HMI is not working. Sorry you get a refund. Why suggest that its possible wen its not !!. It cost me a lot of time. Who pays my time. Why do i have to pay for somting thats not working.

Post by msirotkin on EtherCAT status errors CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I'm trying to understand the reason for the many errors on the EtherCAT master status page. If we set the cycletime to 1ms we see a lot of rxerrors and lostframes, but the send and recive times are quite good (see attachement). And the status of the EtherCAT bus is good (no other errors, all is green, slave has no errors) But when we set 2ms cycletime the lostframe errors are gone, but periodically increses rxerror counter (see attachement). The questions is, what do these errors actually mean and what we can do to get gid of them? Linux RT, imx8, Codesys runtime for ARM 3.5.21.10, Ethercat 4.10 Thanks

Post by ahuckphin on Issues with Modbus Slave with Raspberry Pi CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have a DFRobot RS485 temperature & humidity sensor (SEN0438) connected to my Raspberry Pi via a USB to RS485 adapter. I am able to connect and read the sensor data when running a python code locally. However in Codesys, I encounter this error "A bus error has occurred." and "There was no response in time". Could this be because of Modbus Server Channel and Modbus Server Init configuration on my part? Admittedly I am new to Codesys. To get to this stage, I: 1. added some lines to CODESYSControl_User.cfg 2. added "Modbus_COM" in Codesys and set "Serial Port Configuration" under "General" 3. added "Modbus_Master_COM_Port" in Codesys and checked transmission mode is set to "RTU" 4. added "Modbus_Slave_COM_Port" in Codesys and checked server address is set to 1 (also set 1 in my sensor) 5. added 1 channel and 1 init for "Modbus_Slave_COM_Port" under "Modbus Server Channel" and "Modbus Server Init"

"The Kernel Linux has deprecated GPIO user space SysFS. However, the kernel config CONFIGGPIOSYSFS is still enabled on Toradex's BSP to support customers using it in their legacy applications. You can check the configuration by running zcat /proc/config.gz | grep CONFIGGPIOSYSFS. For GPIO access from userspace, the new char device API, also known as libgpiod, must be used." Dies steht in der Verwendung der GPIOs - eine Ausführung des zcat-Kommandos liefert ein =y zurück.

I think this would be called a struct literal It would look something like this someFB.write(structArgument := MyStruct#(a := 1, b := 1.2), otherArgument := TRUE); With this struct declaration TYPE MyStruct : STRUCT a : INT; b : REAL; END_STRUCT END_TYPE

Post by snguyen on Atomic and Shared memory? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I've read that you can perform Atomic instructions like AtomicReadLInt on variables. However, I'd like to know if this uses stdatomic internally. My main question is : Is it possible to share atomic types in shared memory with CodeSys. If so, what types should they be declared as? If not, are the atomic functions lock-free or does it use a mutex?
