Hello, The title pretty much says it all. When trying to open a FB from the CFC/Ladder/SFC editors while online, the FB does not open in an online view of that specific instance. Instead, it opens an offline view with '???' shown for the value of any variable. This makes debugging extremely cumbersome, as I have to find each FB in the POU window and select the specific instance I am trying to view. Anyone know the cause/solution for this? Thanks.

I tried both 3B en 4. But every time with a lite version. I didn't try the full version of raspberry pi os. Nice to hear you are aware of the problem and trying to fix it. I'll hold on to the image from 2023-10-10 for now.

Hi Helpers I'm trying to work with stepper motor on Rasp 5 for the first time. So I'm pretty new.😥here. I also get 6 errors when I "rebuilder" after installering "SM_Drive_RaspStepper_direct" from the tree. Hope there is help for me. Thanks in advance /Klaus

Hello, what would be the most efficient way to check whether the file exists or not. I don't want to use file.Open function, it seems like rather inefficiet operaton. I considered GetAttribute function, but this function doesn't accept filename (with path) as an input. Basically I need to check first time when program is loaded to the runtime i.e. when application is started for the first time, whether a file exists on the specific location or not.

You can definitely pull the actual system time into CODESYS without too much trouble. Take a look at the SysTimeRtc or SysTime library—both let you read the current date and time from the Raspberry Pi. You can call SysTimeRtcGet() or SysTimeGetTime() in your PLC code and then format the hours, minutes, and seconds into variables that feed your 7-segment visualization. Once you’ve mapped those values, your Visu display will update automatically each cycle. It’s a pretty common approach for clocks in CODESYS, so you should be able to get it working quickly. golf hit

I had the same error. It took me a LONG way to figure it out, but in my case the problem was that I used LDATE_AND_TIME. It seems to be not supported, at least not in the Codesys version I used (3.5.16)

this is not easily. From Point of SL-Licenses Codesys didnt provide the informations how to do. We created an own CDS-Component for that Behaviour. This Informations are available for OEM, if you are an OEM you can find the Informations in the RTS-Documentation.

Hello, what you are seeing is not strange behavior. The problem is that everyting is happening in the same program cycle. After the variable Stepnumber is changed from 10 to 20 for example then you want the program to wait with the next EQ until the next program cycle. Else every EQ will be be true because in every line the variable Stepnumber is increased. When the program arrives (still in the same cycle) at the line with the timer, the Stepnumber has been increased to 30 in the meantime and the timer will allway be ON because even though the variable is written to 10 in this line in the next cycle it starts with 10 and will be 30 again before reaching the timer in line 8. Not very good at explaining stuff but i hope you get the problem. See screenshot below for an example of one way you could solve this...

16.4 Epis What has it to do with the manufacture? It just a licence more not. So basicly the idee of codesys sucks. 3s acts like its posible to add a license. And then it depence on the manufacturer. Why ?? Its a computer !! has nothing to do with the manufacturer. Most dont what a basic licence because they have to pay for that. 3s is the problem not the manufacture of the hardware. Its like the licence of the raspberry pi. HMI is not working. Sorry you get a refund. Why suggest that its possible wen its not !!. It cost me a lot of time. Who pays my time. Why do i have to pay for somting thats not working.

I have a project with hundreds of OPC-UA variables available on the network. A lot of these variables are used actively in various scripts that run in background in the OS (Linux). I'm experimenting with Automation Server and I have a hard time understanding how the web interface populates its parameters list for a given PLC (<plc details="" parameters="" for="" plc="" 'xyz'="">).</plc> In this page, it looks like the only variables available are the ones that are of a "base" type : bool, TIME, String, INT, etc. All the variables that are nested into function blocks or structures are not available in the web interface, even if they are available to any OPC-UA client. Is this a limitation of the Automation Server or is there something that can be done in Codesys?

Hi Georg, thanks for your time. What is the value of D_ANGLE_TOL? It is set to 0.01. Do you need the assignment bAbort := NOT bDecoder? Does it help to leave it out? This seems to make no difference. Any errors (e.g. SMC_SmoothPath.Error/ErrorID) or PLC log messages? No errors or log messages. What if you comment out SMC_SmoothMerge and SMC_LimtiDynamics, is corner smoothing still not working? Indeed. Is bDecode written from a different task (e.g. visu)? Then I would recommend to assign to a local variable (bDecodeLocal := bDecode) and use that for all FBs. Otherwise, FBs might see different values of bDecode in a single cycle, which will cause problems. It is a local variable, written from a state machine inside this program. But there is new information: During some trial and error, I tried skipping "stage 2: merge short linear segments" (SMC_SmoothMerge). And suddenly it rounds the corners, see attached image. Looking a bit closer, I noticed that (with the original program) after a download (cold start?), it in fact did round the corners, but only once. Ever next cycle in which the NC program was executed, the corners where not rounded. Not sure if there is any relation, but SMC_SmoothMerge is also the only FB which has no bAbort input. Perhaps I need to reset it (or any buffers) by other means?

At the top of the Visualisation Properties View, you can enable the "Advanced" options. This will give you access to more properties than what you currently see. There might be a variable linked to the "advanced" colour property where the fill colour is determined by the value of this variable (dword).

Good morning, I'm digging into this topic because I'm curious about resolving my problem in a test environment. In my previous message, I asked about the CODESYS Safe Timeprovider SL package (4.18.0.0), which I saw in the illustration. I noticed that it runs as a service. I am asking about this because from the perspective of an "ordinary" user, this service provides easier access to the settings of the time provider's operating parameters. The basic time provider configuration is outlined at https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_virtual_safe_time_provider.html. Why my questions? They stem from my specific case, which is experiencing timeout issues. I know that my environment is currently only a test environment. I'm assuming a real-world scenario in which I won't be able to achieve a better result with my configuration, and I will ultimately need to increase the time provider's cycle time. By running the time provider service, I can easily influence the time provider's operation and thus eliminate the problem. I know, I know, safety systems are not life-enhancing extras.

Test the security settings in the OPC UA connection function block to ensure that the correct security policy and certificate are selected. If you are using a dynamic connection to the OPC UA server, probe that the connection settings are correctly configured and that the OPC UA client is able to establish a connection to the OPC UA server. Also, please loock into the log files for any errors related to the OPC UA connection function block, these should be listet there. The log files may also provide additional information about the issue and help you to further troubleshoot the problem. Hi everyone. I use Raspberry Pi 4, one core codesys SL. I have a question about global variable access via programm when I glued the same variable to MODBUS SERIAL/TCP DEVICE holding register. So, the question: what behavior of this modifying? When I set "Always update variables (in bus cycle)" and set some task as bus for the Device, then in another task I cant change this varible (can, but immediatly the old value setted again). But the same things works with MODBUS SLAVE: again "Always update..." and master attached to some task, then I change variable in another task and all works. I cant set up my variables from retains file at PrepareStart event because of this behavior with MODBUS SERIAL/TCP DEVICE. Thanks, wbj0t.

We used this with shared memory codesys. and work. OpENer is an EtherNet/IP™ stack for I/O adapter devices; supports multiple I/O and explicit connections. And we adapt this also for Implicit message. But for arrive to the end we spend a lot of time. :-(((

I'm having some troubles with this same issue and I'm wondering if someone can help me out. On a settings visual I allow the operator to enter some values however if they activate the page change button it will change the change with the Numpad dialog open. Since I'm using Visuelems.CURRENTVISU to change the pages I came across this code noted below for determining if the Numpad dialog was active. This code worked great however now in 3.5.19 it's now obsolete. I've tried following the directions in the attached program above however I can't see to get it to work in my program. Can anyone provide some help to determine if a dialog is open?
