Hi all. I'm pretty new to codesys. Maybe a few months. I've had on and off issues here and there. This issue I cant figure out. The top line is one of 2 that I had. The other one has mysteriously left. the 2nd and 3rd showed up after I restarted the program. I'm not sure how to take care of them. Please help!

For the Virtual Control you need to use a "Network license". The Virtual Control has parameters of which one is the reference to the license server. This can be the device itself, but you need to activate the license on the host system (not in the container). For this, CODESYS has a Network License server with WBM (web based management). See for the Network License configuration: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_license_controller_linux.html If it is only for evaluation, I would advise to use a CODESYS (USB) key and activate the license on the key. Then you still have to install the CODESYS Network License server on the host, but you don't have to activate the license as soft license on the device. The benefit is that you can easily move your license to another device when needed. Off course your device must have a free USB port available to be able to do this.

When I build F11, I have a first problem : - Adress out of rang - Overlay It's strange, usually %ML100 > %MB800 Here ONLINE: %ML100 > %MB100 !! I don't understand why ? And idea ? Thanks

Hello, like the topic name says, i have a problem on one Visu which i cannot reproduce on another Visu. We filter buttons with input locks and visible items with [CURRENTCLIENTID] on different WebVisu's with different ID's, and one time the itfClient used the same Client ID for 2 Clients, so the Visualization on the first ID was wrong, because that one which connected after did not have the same permissions like the first, so the first one was blocked. Hello Folks, I have a quite basic understanding of how PLC programming works. However I keep getting stuck on 1 problem I could not get my head around. The problem is as follow: I have a PLC with 60 IO (20 inputs, 40 outputs). Each IO is defined as a function block. Furthermore I have an external IO card connected trough a CanBus connection. This IO card has 4 analog input channels (USINT), 4 digital inputs (Bool) and 4, digital outputs (Bool) Because I have 2 different components which both has data have I made 4 arrays to store the data off every component in one variable. PLC_Input: Array [1..20] of BOOL; PLC_Output: Array [1..40] of BOOL IOCard_Input: Array [1..8] of BOOL IOCard_Output: Array [1..4] of BOOL Because the control and reading of the different in and outputs is done by a TCP connection I want to use some kind of enumeration or struct to give each index a name so that my main would be a little bit more readable instead of all the magic numbers. Also this would make my program more dynamic for the furter in case I need to changes some in the IO nummers. For example: pump is placed on the fysical terminal strip number place 54, which is the 3th output of the IO card in the program: if I am sending a message with value 54 I would like to control IOCard_Output[3]. If there is a solution or methode to get this done, I can eventually do the following in my main program: IOCard_Output[Pump]. I have tried the following: IOCard_Output[Pump - 51] with an enumration but this keeps raising an error I hope some of you could help me further with this problem. In gross lines: I want to couple all the different IO to a more readable name and this readable name should control the right Array index Thanks in advance, George

I'm using the SMC_GroupJog2 block from the SM3_Robotics library for manual movement of an AxisGroup in WCS coordinates. The observed behavior is: When pressing X+, the X-axis starts moving correctly. If I press Y+ during the movement, the block interrupts the current movement and starts a new movement in X and Y. If I release any button, all axes stop, even if another button is still pressed. Example: Pressing X+ → X moves Pressing X+ and Y+ → X stops momentarily and starts XY movement Releasing X+ while holding Y+ → all axes stop The expected behavior would be: to allow simultaneous continuous movement on multiple axes to not interrupt movement when another axis is added or removed. Is there a correct configuration of SMC_GroupJog2 to achieve this behavior, or is there another block more suitable for continuous manual jog in AxisGroup (WCS)?

Is there anybody can help me with the same problem? I have to migrate created project in ver.3.5.17.0 32BIT with runtime 4.7.0 to ver.3.5.20.0 64BIT with runtime 4.7.11.0 due to the new license. All the libraries and dependencies are updaded and there are no any errors. The first compilation and loading to the controller is being compleated well. After this being done and if I am forced to change any values or change any code in the current project, another compilation will be freezed. This problem can be solved if pressed Build/cleen or cleen all. There is another method to solve this; if project is loaded with excluded object (Alarm Configuration), repeated compilations will be done well.

If a size is not specified, CODESYS allocates 80 characters by default for a string. After 7 seconds, does your Json_string contain all of your 20000 key/values? Or is the result truncated to 80 characters?

Hi, I would like to divide a project into multiple applications - as a minimum: one handling visualization and Alarm Manager, one handling I/O and plant control logic. But how to exchange variables between the applications? What have you done to get such a solution? In versions 3.5.19 and earlier, you can have Child applications, where the children can access a GVL in the Parent application. Children apps is no longer possible in 3.5.20 - but you can have 'sibling' apps - Several apps directly under PLC Logic, that is. But how do they best communicate? The Communication Manager / Data Sources Manager is sort of possible via OPC UA, but it seems like overkill and with some limitations - for example no ARRAY OF STRUCT possible this way. If you have separate devices in your project, you can exchange data via 'CODESYS ApplicationV3', but not other applications in the same device (see attachment Datasources.png). You can do it via 'Select the project type'->'Other Project' and select the same project file, but this leads to crashing the Development system when working with the variables afterwards. It would be great to hear your thoughts / experiences on this topic - Bjarne

I am using the visualization element "Cartesian XY Chart" in a visualization template within a library to display recorded position values. I managed to configure the chart as desired and it displays the values like it should. A problem occurs when clicking on the chart to move the cursor, zoom or pan. Upon clicking the visualization element for the first time, the task in which the visualization is run spikes to a cycle time of around 5'000 to 15'000 ms (the configured cycle time is 100 ms). Sometimes this even completely crashes the web-visualization. After this very long cycle, the visu task normalizes again and the chart can be interacted with as usual. Another spike in cycle time occurs once the visualization is switched to a frame that does not contain the chart. I did reduce the data array to only a few values and tried changing the update behaviour of the chart, but it did not change the problems I am facing. Did anyone experience a similar issue or even has a solution for this?

In my projet I use Softmotion. There are several Softmotion axis (type SM_Drive_Virtual). In the Global Variable List I have an array of pointers to the adress of the Axis. Axis : ARRAY[1..iMaxCntAxes] OF POINTER TO AXIS_REF_SM3 := ADR(AX01_Axis), // [1 ADR(AX02_Axis), // [2] This works, but when compiling I get the message : . I see, you want to initialize the FB. To be able to initialise it like you described, you need to add the FB_Init method to your FB. (right click on the FB, select add object --> method). Then press the arrow down, to select the FB_Init (overwrite default implementation). In the VAR_INPUT section of this method, add the variable --> Tag : STRING; Then in the code section of this method add: THIS^.Tag := Tag; // copy initial value to local variable in FB Search Google if you want to know more about FB_Init. PS, reflection + instance path, is also an option if you want to get the full name of the instance (path) of the Function Block.
