Hello, I am writing to You with the problem of Profinet communication in my Codesys V2.5 SP21 project working on Codesys Control RTE V3 x64 device. I have implemented multiple Profinet devices in the network, the Profinet itself is configured properly, based on the hardware and software parameters of the industrial PC (Windows 10 IoT). My Profinet network contains such Profinet devices as a robot, IO-Link master with some devices on it, IO modules, safety, vision sensor (the configuration is attached to this topic). Once every few hours, sometimes more often, sometimes not even once a day, the error show up at one, two or a few random modules at the same time, every one is the same: "Station 'xyz': AR aborted by device (alarm.ind): AR consumer DHT expired". The communication is then lost with that module, but it is up instantly. It is not such a problem when it comes to regular IOs, but with safety or rotation table, it causes errors and machine stops. I have tried multiple solution based on any forum suggestions, manuals, etc., but it is still happening. Mabye when I turned on the Watchdog for this communication, it is happening less times, but still, I could not turning up the Watchdog parameters at the expense of cycle time of the process. The same is with Send Clock, Reduction and DHT. I have one of the ethernet port on the PC configured with CmpEt1000Drv driver. The card itself is Intel Ethernet Connection I219-LM. These devices are connected to one EKI-2728-NI-A Profinet switch (it was changed from the standard non Profinet one, but still nothing has changed). As I said ealier, I am attaching all the configurations for each device and the communication itself - if any of You had the same problems or have any ideas what could be the cause, I would be much gratefull for any help. Because filling in one by one is very time consuming I want to use export function and edit .csv file in Excel. As soon as I modify the file the import back to project does not work at all and function returns errors. Would you pls give me a hint how to properly use this functionality? Thanks a lot for help. Just to share, for those who as me are seeking for this and had found no information anywhere in this World: Every time I stop/start the PLC runtime ( turning into 'Stopped' or 'Running' state ) the 'CODESYSControlService' appears at the Taskmanager list, which could suggest a straight correlation. I was expecting a clever solution, but this one solves for while.

What are the limitations of the OPC UA Server? I am trying to get data off my PLC that is acquired at high rates (~50k samples/s) so I am storing them in arrays and trying to get the arrays off the PLC. When I attempt to read a ~200k element array through OPC UA the server and runtime crashes (requiring tools -> update linux arm64 -> start runtime). Is there a better way to get highspeed data off? The ACDatalog library seems a bit irritating to use so I would prefer to go through OPC UA.

Sorry for being late to the party... so it is not possible to use the webbrowser tool to display external websites in a visu anymore? As it is not possible to simply "adjust the ContentSecurityPolicyIncludeTrustedOrigins setting in the automatically generated webvisu.cfg.json file" as stated in the docs? We need to display data read from a Raspberry Pi (part of our computer network) in our webvisu. We used to do it by entering the Pi's IP address as the URL variable in the webbrowser element but now (I don't know since when, I'm new on the job) "The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource (frame-src) at 'IP address' because it violates the following directive: “default-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline'”. What are the options for displaying the data?

Hi Yet another OPC UA question. When setting up a OPC server using "Communcation manager" (Symbol set and information model) in Codesys the NodeId is always given as "opaque" type. At least when browsing using UAExpert. Other standard OPC objects use numeric (or string) identifier, but for some reason my variables seems to get opaque/binary type. See attached photo. How can I change this? I can't see that this is a parameter in the CodesysControl.cfg. Can this be specified in the information model nodeset? And is it possible to specify the exact numeric or string NodeId for each instance? And on a related topic, is there a way to export the OPC server nodeId's with variable name so that it can be imported in a OPC Client? The .xml files in the project folder does not seem to contain the NodeId.

Dear Forum, We are currently switching to a native Codesys controller, and I'm currently trying to determine the correct license. I have a question regarding the Modbus instances. With the Standard S license this is set to 4 (See picture). In our projects we are using a lot of communications to Modbus servers using a Codesys Controller, for this communication I'm using the ModbusFB library (supplied by 3S) (see picture). In my project I would like to use more than 4 instances of the ClientTCP FB. My question is, is this now capped at 4 possible connections with the standard S license. Or do these function blocks have a different relation with the license? Some clarity on this topic would be very welcome. Thank you in advance

My controller, which is a Linux PC, has got two network cards eth0 and eth1 I whant to use the card with name "eth0" as a server for OPCUA and keep the "eth1" free for other stuffs. Is it possible ? Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to locate a thread that leads me answers. I am running two RTE x64 softPLCs, one on the host machine and a second via a VM. I have managed to finally get both to a position that they see each other, but they are in standalone mode instead of an active/passive state for failover (image attached). Every attempt to sync via the button fails. There is probably some step or option that I have missed in my bumbling through this learning process, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure it out. Anyone got any suggestions what I need to look at to get this into an active/passive redundancy state?

Hello, I am currently testing redundancy using two UC20-M4000 controllers with CODESYS Control SL. The basic redundancy functionality (Active/Passive switching and failover) works, but I am experiencing problems when updating the application. Environment Controller: Weidmüller UC20-M4000 OS: u-OS Runtime: CODESYS Control SL 4.12.1.0-1 Redundancy link: dedicated Ethernet connection between the two controllers Time synchronization: NTP configured, time difference between controllers is about 1–2 seconds Current behavior Application synchronization When I download a modified application to PLC1 (Active controller), the application is not automatically copied to PLC2 (Passive controller). However, when I perform a path swap, the application download to PLC2 starts automatically. My expectation was that the Passive controller would automatically receive the updated application after downloading to the Active controller. Online change When performing an online change, redundancy is lost and the controllers switch to Standalone mode. Typical log messages include: RedundancySynchronize called Redundancy failover itself works correctly. The application boot project exists on both controllers (Application.app and Application.crc). Network interfaces are up and correctly configured. Question Is this behavior expected when updating the application in a redundant UC20-M4000 setup? Should the Passive PLC automatically receive the updated application, or is manual synchronization required? Any advice or recommended configuration for stable redundancy during online change and application download would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

VarAccGetAddress does not return the correct address for TYPE_ARRAY or TYPE_USERDEF. When you use VarAccGetNode, it returns a proper IBaseTreeNode if you provide the full path of an array element or structure element, and it even provides the correct data type. The problem is that with TYPE_ARRAY, it returns the start address of the array rather than the indexed element. With TYPE_USERDEF, it only returns the offset of the element instead of the actual address. This causes many issues with nested structures or arrays of structures, since it requires manually calculating the address based on the parent IBaseTreeNode. See attached image and example.

Hi, I followed your guidance and used go2rtc. There is a link generated from go2rtc I can copy into the web browser element in the visualisation. It somehow only appear within the software when it is running, but not on the webvisu. I want to display the camera feed onto the webvisu. My camera is reolink 810a which supports IP protocol. My project is pretty simple, just a web browser element with assigned URL.

hello everyone I would like to try to better understand how persistent variables work. I created some boolean variables in the PersistentVars section initialized to the value TRUE. I have tied these boolean variables to toggle switches placed inside the HMI interface pages. Once the PLC program is started, the lever selectors, if operated, change their state, at least at a graphical level, but the persistent variables do not undergo any variation. Initially the above variables were declared as simple global variables, in this case the operation with the levers was correct; I then tried to transform them into persistent ones with the aim of using them as "settings saver" Thank you for support Bye

Yes, it is possible to set breakpoints and use step into / step over (also in Ladder diagram). Yes, the PLC will actually stop, so be carefull with this. How a PLC works is that at the start of the execution of the Task, the Inputs are read, then the code is being executed and then the outputs are written. So if you set a breakpoint, you will not see your analog inputs changing, because the task cycle is interrupted and the inputs and outputs are not refreshed. I have set up a brandnew Beckhoff panel pc with a codesys control runtime V3. I configured it together with 2 profinet field devices: a 16in/16out IO module from Turck and an MTS linear encoder. The machine works fine untill all of a sudden the communication breaks and the profinet participants become unreachable. At that point I can still ping the device, but the profinet master does not find them anymore: When i do a scan they are not found. When i do a cold restart, the profinet master becomes active again and the devices are found again. In the log i get Ethercat packet receive error: sysethernet. I am a little confused, there is no ethercat device in the device tree. I already set the send clock and the reduction ratio to higher values, but without result. Can codesys be configured, so that the communication re-establishes without doing the cold reset? This is very annoying and is causing a lot of prodution losses. regards Tim
