Hello everyone! I have an PLC device that uses modem ppp connection to the internet with white IP. Device PPP connection with modem operator established, so I can connect to this device via SSH also within Codesys IDE (check version, info, etc...) BUT, I cant establish connection to this device in the device gateway options for application upload and debugging. How can I do this? Im trying set my device remote IP and port 11740, but, as I understand, it is wrong decision, because the next logic in this connection: local W10 service (Codesys Gateway) listen on 1217, then (some how) this service scanning local networks for seeking any local IP which listening on port 11740, and then connects and writes there. OR IM WRONG?:) W10 tool 'Test-NetConnection' with parameters 'ip -Port 11740' succeeded with True. Need some help, please :)

Update: This initial issue was when using a Linux target PLC. Since then I have created a Win10 target PC and the Codesys software reported an issue associated with the device version (see attached). I am assuming this is an incompatibility with the xml file from the manufacturer and the firmware version on the module and I am chasing this up with Beckhoff. Question is, why would this not report with a Linux target?

Hi, I have Proxmox running on a Rasperry 4 and have debian 12 ARM installed here. I wanted to install Codesys Control for Raspberry on it. According to the messages, the runtime environment and the gateway were installed successfully, but I can't find a device to downplay a program. The sudo service codesys start command fails. Hi, I'm watching an ifm tutorial on how to setup an industrial controller in CODESYS. I'm using an 'ecomatDisplay43inch_64bit) controller. CODESYS Gateway and PLC are both runngin (systray). However if I click "Scan Network" I can't find my controller. The only thing it finds is a "desktop" it seems (I'm using a Windows 10 on a Mac Book using VMWare, so maybe it has something to do with that?). How can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

Hi, In our project, it is not rare to have I/O cards issues. I wanted to have a way to check their statuses ( Eg. INIT, OP, PREOP, etc.. ) I was trying to use the GetDeviceDiagnosisInfo method from the IoConfig_Globals, but there is no info available on the Web with a simple example; does someone have a link to some tutorial or anything else ? The goal is to control a Siemens G120X VFD via Ethernet/IP. The .eds is installed into the device repository. The VFD is added and is using the connection and assemblies from the eds. It appears to reach the VFD but fails to establish a connection. The status message is: Diag String: 'Adapter configured. Open all connections.' The PLC is a raspberry pi 4, running codesys target version 4.13.0.0. The development environment is CODESYS V3.5 SP21 + (64-bit). Anyone have experience with this combination? Alternately, where should I look next? Thank you, Mark

Ive got a project with 6 devices . Version 3.5.9.2 Now i change one to a other device 3.5.20.40 So i update the project to V3.5.20.4 Now i have a lot off faults in the canopendevices . Somehowe the first has no problem and seems that the canopenstackts stays in V3.5.9.2 the others in V4.2.0.0 But i cant put it back to 3.5.9.2 WHY ? And how can now witch one i can update and witch one not ?

Thanks for the advise, indeed, this was somewhat, what my intention was. I tried around again with EDSes and DCFs, anyway. It appears that the DCFs end up in a subfolder in the attach device dialog. Astonishingly, when attaching the DCF version I get a device in the device tree, where I can add a SoftMotion axis, whereas when I attach the device not in the subfolder, then I cannot. Further astonishingly, when looking in the CANopen parameters in supported profiles, "402" is listed in the case of the DCF variant, whereas in the EDS variant "0" is shown. Comparing EDS and DCF files I cannot guess, where the difference is coming from. I cannot tell either why I have always attached the EDS variant and apparantly never the DCF variant. As I am not in the lab right now, I cannot test if the connection actually is working. Thanks again, spiessli

I download an application to an ARMv7 32 bit device. I start the applicatin and it all works fine. But when i restart the device the boot app is not able to start. I have to redownload the application from the development environment to get to run again. I get the following error messages in the log on the restart

Hi! Im slowly starting to loose it and i need som help! After a few night of reading up and testing i´m still stuck as a rock and you guys and girls are my last resort for this project. Basic facts; Win 11 Codesys 3.5 SP19 2 + (64-bit) Raspberry pi 4 model b 2 gb Raspian release 11 aarch64 What keeps me up late at night; Username and Password when trying to connect to device and device only beeing connectable for a few seconds. Some of the things I have tried; Username and passord; Credientials from the raspberry Administrator Administrator admin admin Admin Admin administrator administrator Usernames and passwords that I sometimes use (this was a longshot i know, but i was running out of ideas and energy). :) Epand filesystem, activating i2c, spi, 1-wire I can start the gateway and start the runtime. I cant install the edgearm64, arm64 runtime package eventhough I guess i should, i get code [ERROR] Error output: dpkg: error processing archive /tmp/codesysedge_edgearm64_4.8.0.0_arm64.deb (--install): [ERROR] Error output: package architecture (arm64) does not match system (armhf) [ERROR] Error output: Errors were encountered while processing: [ERROR] Error output: /tmp/codesysedge_edgearm64_4.8.0.0_arm64.deb code as a respons. I have tried to Reset Origin Device - no change. I have tried to remove the /etc/CODESYSControl_User.cfg [CmpUserMgr] but i could not find it and i was not sure if i should add it instead but i did not want to mess somthing up. I have tried to create a second gateway with the specific ip if the pi, that did not help. Could it be that i´m currently connected to the pi through WIFI? I can ping the pi and I can connect and control it through VNC. When i scan to select gateway target (scan edge gateway) i find 17-21 devices but can find the pi throug the mac adress. I started of trying to use the "CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL" (I have a license sience earlier) as i read somewhere that this could be used on a Pi4 as well but now i´m trying with the MC SL, no changes, same problem. Right now - gateway version 4.8.0.0 (edgearmHF, armhf), Runtime Package 4.5.0.0 (raspberry, armhf). Any sugestions are very welcome! As mentioned above, theese are some of the things that i have tried/done - but i have been going at this for a while. Best, Martin

You will need a USB to RS485 converter to connect the PC to the Modbus RTU Slave Device. In Windows this converter will be recognized as Serial COM poort (e.g. COM2, or COM3, see the windows device manager to find this out). Select this port in your CODESYS application. On the PC you need to use the CODESYS Control Win (SoftPLC) to run your application. It will not work in simulation mode, because then the Modbus Communication will not be activated.

I have tried to use the rev24 (the device repository entry not from 'scan for devices') and i keep getting 'invalid output mapping' or 'invalid input mapping' in the ethercat log. I cant even get the bus to run from the device description that comes from 'scan for devices'...

Hello, I have set up an OPC UA server following several guides, including this one: https://revolutionpi.com/documentation/tutorials/opc-ua-codesys-nodered/. The license for the runtime is installed on the device. However, I am unable to create a certificate for the OPC UA server in the security screen. I always get the error message: "The certificate has not been created by the device." Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have the same problem in that I can connect to the eWon and ping the controller IP Address, however I cant connect through CodeSys. I'm using Gateway-1 which is configured to use "IP-Address: localhost" and "Port: 1217". Rather than scanning the network for devices, I enter the IP Address of the device, codesys returns a "No Device is repsonding..." message. See attached. I'm wondering if the IP-Address used Gateway-1 should be "localhost" or the WAN/LAN IP of the eWon? Thanks for the help MC

hello jdj this question can be answered well with a pretty good forge documentation: https://forge.codesys.com/drv/io-drivers/doc/Generic/ u r also able to create in codesys directly an iec-code by using the i2c-interface as driver using the codesys ide and st depending on the stepperdriver, used in yöur hat, its possible that an driver is already available in the device-repository. which mcp-device is used on the hat?

Hi everyone, Had that problem before where I could not create another user but used the method just above and it worked great. My problem now is that I get this message when attempting to logon to the device: invalid user authentication on the target dev5, the new user created is pretty much a copy of the user 'Owner' except for the password. Any idea as to why I am always getting this "invalid user authetication on the target" message ? Using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6 + (64 bit) Regards
