Also. Every third (or so) attempt to login/compile is unsuccessful with the error prompt "one or more errors occurred", however there is no information available on what this error might be. If I remove the PersistenceManager-module, these problems are not present.

Hi, I haven´t noticed you put the comment here. I thing it´s a bit different. What I want is to have detail errors of technology in data type e.g. INT. This variable I would latch to the corresponding error msg but I would like to get it convert to text from the text list and not keep it in INT form. Example. Main error Valve Error: SubErrors 1 - Both sensors 2 - Not retracted in time 3 - Not pulled out in time In HMI Main error + latch SubErrors => "Valve Error: Both sensors" The benefit is that text lists are part of translation and can be easily manipulated. I know I can create whole string msg in PLC but then, it lose advantage of Alarm management. Thanks. M.

Hi We upgraded our ptoject from 3.5.19 to 3.5.20 but we get an error message in the latest version. We made our own trend function and its related to this we get error message: Trend_Menu Device: PLC Logic: Application: C0032: Cannot convert type 'RTS_SYSTIMEDATE(systimertc, 3.5.20.0 (system))' to type 'RTS_SYSTIMEDATE(systimertc, 3.5.17.0 (system))' The variables are defined as follow: start : SysTimeRtc.SYSTIMEDATE; end : SysTimeRtc.SYSTIMEDATE; The code that creates the error is the variable start and end IF xAssign THEN xAssign := FALSE; xPanEnable := FALSE; xZoomEnable := FALSE; drs.liFrom := VisuTrendStorageAccess.TrendStorageConvertToTimestamp(start, 0 (us)); drs.liTo := VisuTrendStorageAccess.TrendStorageConvertToTimestamp(end, 0 (us)); drs.m_itfDateRangeSelectorClient.SetCurrentRange(drs.liFrom, drs.liTo); END_IF I cant understand really what the error message means and what can be the cause of the error? Hi, I am using Codesyscontrol for linux 4.11 with an USB dongle with license. The log file from codemeter shows a constant error message which repeats every minute: Entry (6000437:8755) not found - Event WB0200 (ENTRY NOT FOUND), Request IP-Address local(IPV4) with UserLimit API Error 200 (ENTRY NOT FOUND) occurred! The log file from Codesyscontrol itself shows runtime licensed and I experience no other issues. But I am still concerned about the error message in the log file. Does anybody know what this is and how to fix it? thanks

Hi everyone, I just created a very simple library without any code and, added it to my very simple project. after adding this library, I get an error when I try to open "Symbol Set" in "OPC UA Server" in "Communication Manager". Here is the code of my POU in the library: FUNCTION_BLOCK POU VAR eCommand : (CMD_NONE:=0, CMD_RESET:=-1) INT := CMD_NONE; END_VAR Attached is the error that I get. I also noticed that by removing the enumeration variable above (eCommand), I can open the "Symbol Set" again. Anybody has any idea why this error is raised and how could I use enumeration variables without error in "OPC UA Symbol Set"?

Hi, I am trying to make my runtime support TargetViso on 4.12.0.0 runtime. First when I tried to install package I got error due to missing libraries that are generated through qt-base. After compiling and installing related qt lib when I tried to install the package, I didnt get lib dependencies error but I got another error: [ERROR] The installed QT Version does not meet the minimum required version 6.4.2. Please install version 6.4.2 or higher and try again. When I check Qt version I get the following response QMake version 3.1 Using Qt version 6.5.0 in /usr/local/qt6/lib. I tried with Qt version 6.9.0 but that didn't help. Any idea on what coudl be the reason. When I looked for codesys related processes the related libraries were included within environment.

Yes, this is the error the sometimes show up. What make me crazy is the fact that it happens randomly and not each times. I know very well where the problem is, in wich one program row it's located. For each actions of the state machine I have all events recorded with log on text file. it is not problematic for me to find the application point of the fault, but I need to understand why occasionally and for no apparent reason, switching the state machine and thus changing the motion FB, sends the axis into failure (but only occasionally). For example, one case that is often problematic is the execution of the Axis Halt instruction. When, after a MoveAbosulte instruction this returns the event as 'done' and indeed the axis is in standstill, the state machine first sets the move instruction to FALSE, and the next cycle sets the Halt request to TRUE. Some of the time everything works out fine. Occasionally, however, in this exchange, the axis goes into fault, also losing the OPERATIONAL state. Meanwhile, I would like to understand why the motion FB instances must still be called even after the Execute is set to FALSE, especially in view of the fact that the next instruction is programmed to abort the previous one, with BufferMode set to 'Aborting'. All these unnecessary FB calls are an unnecessary overhead on the CPU anyway. Is there any precise rule about when to cease calling the various instances? (It should precisely be the 'done' status that says this one has finished its work).

Hi everyone, new at Codesys and PLC programming in general. I am using Codesys Win V3.5 SP20 I would like to measure an encoder's frequency output (obtaining that pulse train from Factory IO) and intended to use the MeasureFrequence FB (Intern/CAA/Utilities/CAA Mathematics/3.5.19.0). As mentioned in the title what I need to measure is low frequency, such as lower than 40hz (a cycle every 25mS) or so; I could even go lower frequency if required as this is for test purposes) therefore I am not expecting problem measuring a low frequency with that FB The library in question appears to be installed as I can retrieve it from the Library Repository. I can also see it from the Device's Library Manager. Problem arises when I am trying to instantiate this particular FB. I go like this: VAR MeasF:MeasureFrequence; END_VAR Please note that as soon as I start typing the "MeasureFrequence", the MeasureFrequence comes out as a viable option in auto-typing; seems to indicate that the FB is recognized somehow. But there is no way I can compile this as it comes back with the following: C0046: Identifier 'MeasureFrequence' not defined. Tried to rename that to ABC instead of MeasF; same issue. Possibly that the library is not properly installed ? Placeholder ? I would greatly appreciate a bit of guidance if possible. Thank you and regards, Mike

I had a similar error "Invalid ERR Ack input". What you need to do is link an variable from the "non-safe" PLC to the Group IOs of the POU in the Safety app. * Add a POU to the SafetyApp (probably already done, otherwise you don't get this error) * Right click on this POU - select properties * Go to the Group IOs tab * Link a variable to the Err.Ackn. input I don't know about the Size of zero, I didn't get this error. Were you able to fix this?

Hi All, I'm using codesys on a raspberry PI. I use V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 development system and codesys for raspberry pi 4.8.0.0. Sometimes when I build the project I get error messages C0007: Expression expected instead of ',' and C0032: Cannot convert type 'Unknow type: '!!!'ERROR'!!!" to type 'POINTER TO IoConfigParameter'. I can't click on the message to bring me to the fault. After I do a "Clean all" the build finishes successful. Anyone who can help me with this problem? Thanks! Remco Borghuis

I'm installed the CODESYS Control for Linux SL package and am trying to use the Extension API to call a simple C function. When I get to the step to run "make all" on the Linux machine, I get the error: build interface header: out/CmpFirstTestItf.h from CmpFirstTestItf.m4 ERROR: This functionname does not contain _cext (this is mandatory, see help for details): DEF_API(void',CDECL',external_struct__fb_init',(external_struct_fb_init_struct *p)',1,0x1F77E075,0x00000001) Why does "Generate Runtime System Files" create a function that does not have cext in the name? What am I missing?

I've had issues getting the raspistepper installed, all due to errors upon installation. The closest I get is the pictured error. The functions are in the sm3_shared library. I can add this library but that leaves 2 issues. I don't actually know, and I really want to understand this, why the required dependencies haven't been installed correctly. If I add the library it's only available with through the namespace. What can I do to both understand and resolve this? Hello, I currently have my trend configured with a maximum size limit of 5MB (additional settings can be seen in the attached image). However, I am encountering an error related to this trend, specifically within the TrendStorageAccess library. The device log shows the following message: TrendStorageAccess: prvCheckForSizeLimit (see the attached image for details). Does anyone know the reason for this error? I have a project with several buttons and dialogs. Most of the dialogs are opened using the Open Dialog action of the Input configuration of the buttons. Some dialogs are openend using the FbOpenDialogExtended FB of the Visu Utils library and the FbOpenDialogExtended FB is called in the Execute ST-Code action. I am also using the FileOpenSave dialog from Visu Dialogs which requires an OnDialogClosed action to read out. I realized that the OnDialogClosed action which is meant for the FileOpenSave dialog also triggers if a dialog is closed, which was previously openend using the FbOpenDialogExtended FB. Is there a way to detect which dialog was closed last and specify to which dialogs the OnDialogClosed action reacts?

Hi Jack, I think you have to look at a FB in a different way. A Function block (Class) can contain its own data. In other words don't define loose data in your GVL, but define a instance of a FB (Object) in your GVL: Example: Function_Block Basic_Class VAR_INPUT Open_Command: BOOL; END_VAR VAR_OUTPUT Opened: BOOL; END_VAR if Open_Command then Opened := TRUE; ELSE Opened := FALSE; END_IF Global Variables Objects: ARRAY[1..100] OF Basic_Class; //Here you ar defining you objects END_VAR In your code you can directly acces the data and couple it to the IO: GVL.Objects[1].Open_Command := %IX0.0; %QX0.0 := GVL.Objects[1].Opened; //To call the code itself use: GVL.Objects[1](); If you want to take this a step further you are also able to add methods and properties to the FB/Class end thereby creating a OOIP program

Thank you for your interest. Your answers are in line with what I knew, so at least it comforts me that I did not misinterpret the situation. However, I don't have an exact match as, for this project over the past few days I have: 1) I have gone back to leaving the various FBs of the motion always called, all of them, and in the state machine I use a boolean to activate the various useful Execute. (But in the future I want to go back and try the programming technique with which I wanted to develop this project); 2) For the occasional error: SMC_FB_WASNT_CALLED_DURING_MOTION perhaps it was due to the fact that I had set the Ethercat bus synchronism only at the CAN master level, but not at the level of individual drives. I have now also activated it for the individual drives and it does indeed seem to have been resolved, but having also adopted the programming technique mentioned in point 1), I cannot say whether this was the solution to the problem, or instead the previous point. Is there an error ‘regulator or start not set’ in the device log before the error ‘motion generating FB wasn't called for at least one cycle’? I can't answer that right now. By now the machine is running and I am no longer there, at this one. Also, I seem to remember that the 'fbeFBerror' drive structure (5-element array), does not cycle, BUT ONCE THE 5 EVENTS AFTER SWITCHING ON, IT DOES NOT UPDATE ANYMORE (but that's another issue), so diagnostics were not easy.

I have two ethernet Ip drives and created Function Blocks for different motions tasks. I am using same FB for both the drives. When I try to execute the relative move start command on FB for both the drives it is not working. However, if I add 1ms second delay between the execution of each drive it is working. Also when I change the rung order it is working for the first drive in the rung. what could be the wrong here?

The generic sensor FB is for controlling the sensor via its cyclic input (PDI) and output (PDO). In this case, ifm raw cyclic input and output data are WORDs (16 bits total) The PDO data from the Buerkert unit are SINT (8 bits) In this case, I would use the unpackword fb from the CAA memory library to unpack the valve feed back value into the appropriate location.

Why will it retain the sum value from the last call? This is how PLC work. Usually variables only get initialized after a download or a reset (i.e. power loss). RETAIN variables are saved in a special kind of RAM and keep their value after a power loss. To initialize variables on every call of your FB use the VAR TEMP block. VAR_TEMP sum : INT; END_VAR

The message means that you (CODESYS) tries to open the function block, but this is not possible because the library which contains the FB is compiled. You either get this when you try to manually open the function block (while editing the application), but it could also happen that an exception occurs in the running application and CODESYS tries to show the location where it occured. If it happened in an FB of the compiled library, it cannot show this and you could get this message too.
