Post by trusty-squire on Read "Homed" status from EtherCAT drive CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, Is there a way to read the homed status from the EtherCAT drive directly? I am currently flagging the homed status on the succesful completion of the MC_Home function block, but I have had false triggers where the drive didn't actually execute the homing procedure but the MC_Home FB is marked as complete without error. I looked at other MC/SMC function blocks but the closest I can find is the "Homing" bit from MC_ReadStatus FB, but this doesn't show if the drive is succesfully homed, only that it's homing. Any guidance is welcome. Thanks!

Post by manuknecht on Using an Axis of an Axis Group in Torque Conctrol CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I don't seem to be able to use an axis, which is part of an Axis Group in torque control mode. I call the SMC_SetControllerMode FB to switch from position to torque control mode, followed by the SMC_SetTorque FB to set the desired torque. This works flawlessly for most axes, however if an axis is part of an axis group, switching the controller mode seems to work without any issues, but the desired torque is never set. SMC_SetTorque does not return an error, but fSetTorque of the axis is never changed. Disabling the axis group before does not change anything, but if I use MC_UngroupAllAxes before changing the controller mode, it all works as it should. Is there no way to control a single axis in torque control, if it is part of an axis group?

Post by timvh on FB string and naming CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I see, you want to initialize the FB. To be able to initialise it like you described, you need to add the FB_Init method to your FB. (right click on the FB, select add object --> method). Then press the arrow down, to select the FB_Init (overwrite default implementation). In the VAR_INPUT section of this method, add the variable --> Tag : STRING; Then in the code section of this method add: THIS^.Tag := Tag; // copy initial value to local variable in FB Search Google if you want to know more about FB_Init. PS, reflection + instance path, is also an option if you want to get the full name of the instance (path) of the Function Block. See: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_pragma_attribute_instance_path.html

Post by mini-developer on Precompilation Error NBS.UDP_Peer CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I use the Library NBS from "caa net base services". After opening the Project i get 19 errors from the message window "Precompilation", most of them because it doesn't recognise a component of the FB "NBS.UD_Peer". (see photo) After compiling the Project at least 2 times, there are no errors. Is there a reason and solution for this behavior? Is there a problem with resolving the library? Thanks for any clue

Post by timvh on JSON CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I don't know the details of jsonArrayWriter, but the common behaviour for an xExecute input is that the FB starts on the trigger that it gets TRUE. In your case xExecute is never FALSE, so it is never triggered again to start the jsonArrayWriter. So change the condition from TRUE to a variable which you set to TRUE with the "xFirst". Then when the jsonArrayWriter is done (xDone), or has an error (xError), then set this variable to FALSE.

Post by caliberbishop on Having trouble using the Web Client SL library CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I'm trying to use the Web Client SL library, I installed it in the IDE (did not purchase a license yet, as this is still a proof of concept so demo mode is good enough) and added it to the library manager. However, when trying to define a FB of the type WebClient I get a "Identifier 'WebClient' not defined" error message, setting the type to Web_Client_SL.WebClient did not work as well. Opening the example project the FBs defined there give the same error message. From the problem in the example project I deduce this is not a syntax problem, so maybe a license problem, but there should be a working demo mode, so what am I missing? IDE v 3.5.21.30 Library v 1.12.0.0 Thanks

Post by marek71 on Ambiguous use of name - CO136 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
My PLC is WAGO PFC200 Firmware Revision 26. target After updating WAGO_Devices_and_Libraries with newer Firmware 27, CODESYS wants to update all libraries to new versions. I will only add that I did not update the Firmware in the PLC. After compiling the program, I received the following errors: ------ Build started: Application: Device.Application ------- Typify code... [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): FbSerialInterface_internal: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): FbSerialInterface_internal: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_RESULT' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): Initialize [FbSerialInterface_internal]: C0032: Cannot convert type 'Unknown type: 'RTS_INVALID_HANDLE'' to type 'POINTER TO BYTE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): Initialize [FbSerialInterface_internal]: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_INVALID_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): Initialize [FbSerialInterface_internal]: C0046: Identifier 'RTS_INVALID_HANDLE' not defined [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): comextra_is_tx_empty: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): comextra_get_line_state: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): comextra_is_line_available: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): COMSW_SET_MODE: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' [ERROR] wagosyscom_internal_pfc, 1.0.2.5 (wago): comextra_set_line_state: C0136: Ambiguous use of name 'RTS_IEC_HANDLE' Compile complete -- 10 errors, 0 warnings Build complete -- 10 errors, 0 warnings : No download possible The problem was caused by the WagoSysPlainMem(WAGO) library in the original version 1.5.3.0 after updating to 1.5.3.1. After returning to version 1.5.3.0, the problems disappeared. Probably the version number of this library is responsible for supporting the appropriate Firmware Revision. Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicions?

Post by paulorb on FB Factory example CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I am trying to use FB Factory (to dynamically create FB), I am looking for documentation the only thing I found is this page: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/CAA%20FB%20Factory/3.5.17.0/Factory/fld-Factory.html I am trying to find the examples, I search on the installed folder, I have the impression that it is no longer installed as part of the CODESYS installation. Where can I find it?

Post by pernockham on Is there a pragma for init/instantiation of local variables in FB (like in Methods) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Im using a pointer as input for a FB and for convenience I like to use 'referenced' variable internally. I use this setup in methods which works because internal variables are instantiated for each call. In a FB these variables are instantiated and initiated for the first call only. Is there a pragma/attribute available that changes this behaviour to mirror a 'method'-call?

Post by ph0010421 on Help with __SYSTEM.VAR_INFO CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
hi all I have a FB with IN/OUT variable. Inside the FB, I want to get the address of the IN/OUT variable. If I use __SYSTEM.VAR_INFO, I get the address of the FB copy rather than 'external' variable. VAR_IN_OUT MyVar: bool; END_VAR VAR Info: __SYSTEM.VAR_INFO; END_VAR Info := __VARINFO(MyVar); This give me the address of MyVar but I actually want the address of the variable passed to MyVar Any clues please?? thanks, ph

Post by nz-dave on Custom library, ethernet/ip adaptor CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Im Putting alot of my custom functions blocks into a library I have a EthernetIP VSD FB that i would like to get Status from the adaptor. EthernetIP_remote_adaptor.estate is one what i want to get. so anyone know how to point that to my function block? when i use the block i just want to have an input "Drive" that would point to the adaptor. like in softmotion when you just put the axis name in the FB to point the FB to a certain axis. Hope that makes sense, cheers

Post by tyronnosaurus on ReceiveWatchdog FB not working on J1939 P2P PGNs CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi guys. I've got a device that sends a status message over J1939 and a PLC running Codesys to receive it. This message uses a P2P PGN (as opposed to a broadcast PGN). Codesys can only read it if I mark the J1939_ECU as "Local" (see screenshot 1). The message is received correctly, that is not the problem. The problem is detecting if the message stops being received. Local ECUs have no Watchdog checkbox to detect if the message has been received in the last X seconds. In order to implement a watchdog, I've used a ReceiveWatchdog FB. The same code works well for any non-P2P message, but doesn't work for this particular P2P message I'm trying to monitor. Even if I physically disconnect the device, ReceiveWatchdog.xBusy stays True, and ReceiveWatchdog.xError never triggers due to a timeout error. Is there any caveat in the ReceiveWatchdog FB that makes it unable to monitor P2P PGNs in Local J1939_ECUs?

Post by danieldiaz on Problem with FB execution CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello everyone, I've been working on a system which needs an error function, with this purpose I've created a FB programmed in LD, after debugging I run the simulation. It seems that the variable linked to a coil doesn't change the value when the contacts are associated to input variables. When I use internal variables the logic works properly. I don't know if the problem is related to the variables definition or with the logic program. As you can see in the image, I1 and I2 are variables declared on the FB, the rest are input variables. If I force the eStop and Reset signals to TRUE the coil value should change, but it doesn't. However in the second network if I1 is TRUE the coil change to TRUE as it has to be. To sum up, my doubt is why that coil doesn't change its value? I would like someone to shed a light on this. Thanks!

Post by gseidel on Dynamic limits invaild CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi jbu0105, which error doe you get, exactly? Is it error 11008, SMC_MOVE_INVALID_DYNAMICS? (It might help if you check the "Log" tab in the PLC device and copy the exact error.) Please double-check whether the inputs Velocity, Acceleration, Deceleration, and Jerk of MC_MoveCircularAbsolute have correct (positive) values. Best regards, Georg

I stopped the simulation and tried to rebuild. "Cloned Task0.task0. Priority already in use" error was shown after rebuilding. I used Build-Clean All option and rebuilt again. Now the logic started working. But I am not still sure what caused the error in first place. If somebody knows about this error, please enlighten me. Thanks svn

Post by fahrettin on CODESYS 3.5.17.30 Setup Error CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
While trying to install CODESYS 3.5.17.30 (64-bit) on my Windows 11 computer, I'm getting the errors below. The first error occurs near the end of the installation. Once you bypass it, the installation returns the second error. Do you have any suggestions for a solution? By the way, I've tried this on several PCs, but I haven't found a solution.
