Hi k2saki, I would recommend to have a look at SMC_SmoothMerge, followed by SMC_SmoothPath. SmoothMerge will combine the small G1 elements to longer splines, SmoothPath will avoid stops between the splines. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/SM3_CNC/Current/SM_CNC_POUs/SoftMotion-CNC/SoftMotion-Function-Blocks/SMC_SmoothMerge.html For SmoothMerge to work, you have to configure a tolerance, i.e. by how much it may deviate from the lines. To graph the output of the interpolator, you can use the trace. (Add a trace object below the application, and add the variables you are interested in to the trace.) Best regards, Georg

Is it possible like G-Code streaming processing (like FANUC or SIEMENS DNC Function )? Or Does anyone know the tips for CODESYS Motion to start moving long Long G-Code File quickly? I have to wait long time after "Start" button to start moving, I have to wait finishing interpreting whole G-Code file, ( and I have to prepare huge buffer to store. ) Now, I'm working on my CNC Project using SMC_ReadNCFile2, and SMC_NcInterpreter to preprocess G-Code. I tried to set SMC_Interpolator.xExecute to true to Start while after SMC_NcInterpreter processed more 50-line of G-Code, but that not worked, I had to wait SMC_NcInterpreter processed all lines to start SMC_Interpolator. G-Code have about 2000 lines of XY of G01 (or more over.. ) of short segment that a CAM software has exploded from NURBS Curve.

I have created a program to preprocess G-code as follows 1.SMC_ReadNCFile2 2.SMC_Interpreter 3.SMC_CheckVelocities Then I put SMC_OUT_QUEUE in SMC_Interpolator. Where should I insert SMC_SmoothMerge and SMC_SmoothPath? Or are there any example link for it ?

Sometimes you just need to pose a question on a forum and re-read it to get clarity. pGeoInfo := SMC_GetObj(poq:=ADR(fbCncInterpreter.poqDataOut), n:=1); This won't work, I'm providing a pointer to a pointer, as poqDataOut is already a pointer! I just need to remove the ADR() and it works. pGeoInfo := SMC_GetObj(poq:=fbCncInterpreter.poqDataOut, n:=1);

I have an application using CNC GCode interpolation, but I need to modify the GCode provided to the PLC based on certain parameters. I am currently attempting to modify the SMC_GeoInfo objects in the SMC_OutQueue using the code below. Note that all the other code is pretty standard and works fine, but when I add the below it errors. It creates a pointer with the value as shown in the photo, but all the dereferenced values say dereference of invalid pointer.

Hi jonasz, you already solved it, I'm answering here for the sake of others with a similar question. You can provide the slope of the A/B/C axis with the U/V/W word. Hi, Is it possible to display the units along the X,Y axis of the Path3D element? It correctly shows the CNC path to be followed, but there's no indication of scale or size of what's being displayed. I looked at the documentation and my first inclination is that this is not possible, and the option option would be to somehow recreate the Path3D functionality into the XY Chart visu element - which is not ideal. Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated!

Hallo, das konkrete Problem konnte ich seither leider nicht lösen, allerdings habe ich mit SP19 Patch 4 einen Workaround gefunden, der zumindest für meine Anwendung funktioniert: Zunächst besteht das Problem nicht für alle Funktionalitäten gleichermaßen. Die Anzeige einer .bmp oder .tiff-Datei im Visu-Elementtyp Bild beispielsweise funktioniert aus dem lokalen Dateisystem. Die Anzeige von .cnc-Dateien in einer Tabelle dagegen nicht. Allerdings funktioniert das wiederum, wenn der Dateipfad in den Ordner der PLC führt, genannt '_cnc'. In der PLC wird dieser Ordner über den Pfad _cnc/ erreicht. Auch lohnt es sich einen Blick in die PLC Config-Datei zu werfen und ggf. Anpassungen vorzunehmen. Einzelne Einträge definieren Zugriffsrechte und ähnliches. Die beschriebene Lösung ist nicht sonderlich schön und es erklärt das Problem nicht. Vielleicht kann das noch jemand anders beantworten.

I'm trying to make a CNC machine, but I'm having problems because the drive I'm using only has the option of communicating through digital inputs. In this case, I should use the CLP's digital outputs to communicate with it, correct? However, in the function blocks it seems that they are already pre-programmed and I didn't find the pulse output options, for example, so that I could associate a digital output from the PLC to connect this to the drive's pulse input. My question is: is it possible to associate the pulse output of the function block with a digital output of the PLC? and how to do this?

I'm currently reworking the controls on a cnc press brake and wanted to load various recipes as programs to run. I'm using a 2d array of REALs to store the X and Y coordinates as well as some other program parameters in a recipe. I'd like to store all of the recipes on a computer used as the HMI that way the text files can be edited and uploaded offline. I'm using Automation Directs P2CDS-622 Can this be done through webvisu? If not would a license for Codesys HMI SL on the computer allow me to accomplish this? I've attached the Project File Thanks, Spice

Hi, I'm experiencing a bug with the latest version of SoftMotion CNC library (4.17), where the 3DPath object in Visu is missing all the important properties. I've verified that a previous app I was working on with library version 4.16 did not have this issue and the issue is duplicated in that project when I update it to 4.17. I've already submitted a bug report, but for the time being I need to revert the project I'm currently working on back a revision. I've tried right clicking on the library but the option to select the version is greyed out. Can anyone help me?

I am studying and developing a Softmotion+CNC system for a machine that executes multiple pieces. The G code program is written by the machine operator and each cycle execute 1 piece. The programs are large, exceeding 1000 lines and using up to 8 axes (X, Y, Z, A, B, C, P and Q). The machine needs to run cyclically, executing N pieces (selected by the Operator)... so I tested it using Looping and counters (G36 G37 and G20) and it worked, but it takes a long time to process, and the more pieces I need, the longer the processing time and this is totally impracticable. I found this solution which was very good, and for a few cycles it works well, but for 99999 pieces of a program with 1000 lines, it doesn't work very well... Another solution I tested is to maintain the interpolator with an automatic restart, that is, I load the program without looping (without G20) and give it another start as soon as it finishes. This partially resolved it, but there is still a delay in processing SMC_NCInterpreter in each restart :(. Another solution I thought of is to manually create the SMC_GEOINFO structure and then reuse it, avoinding the Interpreter, but reading the documentation and checking the structure filled by standard blocks, I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a "JUMP" function in the structure! In other words, the SMC_NCInterpreter actually keeps copying and copying the program section for each jump (G20)... If I repeat a 10-line program 1000 times, I will have a structure with more than 10000 lines... possibly this is the cause of take so long to process. Has anyone ever had a problem like this? I believe the same thing happens with typical applications with manipulator robots using Codesys in continuous cycles, and I would like to know if there is any solution, or even if I am misinterpreting the G20 question in SMC_GEOINFO. Hi, On a gantry system with 2 axis i am getting the following error: SMC_DI_FIELDBUS_LOST_SYNCRONICITY This happens random, sometimes it happens every 5 minutes and sometimes no error for 2 hours... The Setup: - Using codesys 3.5 SP20 with all latest libs... - Kontron AL Pi-Tron CM4 with Preempt realtime patch (Raspberry Pi 4) - Codesys runtime 4.11.0.0 (single core) - CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL licensed - Softmotion + CNC + Robotics licensed - 2x Leadshine EL8-EC400 servo drives - Axis group for a 2-axis T-Gantry Ethercat network wiring: Ethercat master softmotion -> Beckhoff EK1100 -> Servo drive #1 -> Servo drive #2 Ethercat Cycle time = 4ms Max Jitter = 140~150 What i have tried so far: - changed the sync offset from 20% to 30% - changed ethercat task priority from 1 to 0 Running tasks: - Ethercat tast: Prio = 0, Interval = 4ms - Main task: Prio = 1, Interval = 8ms - Visu task: Prio = 31, Interval = 100ms - Softmotion planning task: Prio = 15, Freewheeling - 3 other default tasks that were created by AC_Persist Motion fb's are called in the ethercat task... Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, Learning Codesys CNC, and I am confused by the dwIpoTime parameter. I have a basic demo application, using SMC_Interpolator feeding into SMC_TRAFO_Gantry2Tool2, which then sets the position of the x/y SM_Drive_Virtual axis. I also have a C axis which revolves the tool, which is controlled using a simple tangential angle calculation SMC_CalcDirectionFromVector. The GCode I'm using has feed/accel set at 500. The axis configuration limits are well above that (2000). What's strange is that, when I run the simulation, the feed speed changes drastically when I update the variable dwIpoTime. The larger the number, the faster it moves. What's going on here? The documentation only says "This variable has to be set for each call. It represents the cycle time in μsec." Why does it change the feed speed I'm seeing the in simulation? What is a good number to use? The example I was looking at set it at 5000. Screenshot attached.
