I have not gotten to the bottom of this yet no. I have double check that the variables are correct linked. When online with the program I can see the button and rung going true for the move instruction, yet it does not change. Forcing the bit in the program does change the value in Groov View. I am kind of at a loss here, especially since the other POU(For the pumps) does the same thing fine.

Hello everybody I have two of these EtherCat CiA402 stepper driver from Leadshine: https://www.leadshine.com/product-detail/EM3E-556E.html I want to controll them. I already have implemented them in Codesys with Softmotion. I see the position, the velocity and the status word so I can read everything. See picture 1. But when I want to write something like MC_Power or MC_MoveAbsolut with the SM3_Basic library it wont work and with the MC_Reset POU it shows: "SMC_R_DRIVE_DOESNT_ANSWER". See picture 2. I am rather new to Codesys and I'm trying to figure out how to get the status of an alarm. This to interlock the start of a device until the alarm has been acknowledged... I am not sure if IAlarm.GetState (METH) can be used for this purpose. I am trying to implement a mechanism to send alarm SMS. For this, I have created an Alarm Class with a Notification Action which calls a POU. This POU implements IAlarmNotifiable making it selectable in the Alarm Class configuration. IAlarmNotifiable has an Execute method which is called by the alarm class. Now, I want to extract the alarm message of the triggered alarm. The Execute method comes with a VAR_INPUT itfAlarm: AlarmManager.IAlarm which supplies a method called GetMessage. The help text says: Returns the message text, that has been configured for the alarm. The result is a pointer to the buffer, where the message text is stored The type of the result is CharBufferPtr, and at some place I read that it can be interpreted as a pointer to string. But I cannot manage to extract the alarm message, all I get are numbers. I have tried the following: psAlarmText := itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^; sAlarmText := TO_STRING( itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^ ); So how do I get access to the alarm message as clear text? Hi Tim. Not quite correct. What i'd like, is when you place the FB in prog, i choose a block NTC10k, and name this RT401. What i'm trying to do, is to get the name RT401 automaticly into the FB, so i can put this into the string i pass in a struct. So in var in POU, i saw this a place i could do this, RT401: NTC10k(Tag:='RT401'), but i can't get this to work. I shurly must have had something like this in FB: FUNCTION_BLOCK NTC10k String TAG But it's here where I'm stuck...

Thank you so much. This worked. Waht im trying to do here is to automatically tag each sensors, valves and so on. There is a preatty nasty tag system i working on. "_320" is not alloved. I can have a tag "+4f=320.004-RT001V" In codesys I want to build the FB in folders. -4f | --320 | --001 This is the system structure. Inside here is all of the sensors and so on. But with Codesys, I cannot tag this like this. So what I'm trying to do now is to Make a folder for the building "4f" and one for the system "320", and a POU _001. Is there a way in init to get folder names?

Hi yotaro, hope your problem was resolved. I had the same, but with an other library title. This exception is not detected during compilation, but rather at a given position in the program (when switching to a given visualization). Although the exception is generated at this point, it does not involve the visualization in question. This error is due to one of 3 reasons: 1) A division by zero somewhere: The program is able to detect divisions by zero at compile time. But in the case of a variable, which takes a valid value at init and changes to 0 at a later stage. 2) An invalid pointer: (either because it has a value of 0, or because it points outside the memory reserved for the program) is being dereferenced. Locate any pointers or interfaces you have in the code and check them - you should also be wary of mixing inline modifications and pointers. 3) Array overflow: Generally when a processing operation is executed outside the array's definition range. Example: a write loop with n iterations is executed on an array of dimmension n-1. On the other hand, the error message may not appear. In the latter case, the error may have fatal consequences, as the overflow has induced writing to potentially forbidden memory areas. This problem can be explained by the fact that it's not always the adjacent memory areas of PLC_PRG that are overwritten, but the memory areas that are randomly allocated to the array during compilation. In this case, however, there is no entry in the log, so you need to integrate the "Implicit Check function", which checks the line of code generating the error. To integrate this functions, click on Application --> POU for implicit controls Regards,
