If you want to use the Test Manager, I prefer to start all the tests through the scripts of this manager. So open from there the projects, load it and run it. If you also want to use Python scripts to access CODESYS functionality, while executing a Test Manager script, then also start them from the Test Manager commands.

Hi, I assume that you have a Pfc200 G2 or something and work with the original WAGO runtime. Then I would recommend the WagoSysDynamicIoMapping. Here in the example projects there is a PDF file for the library: https://downloadcenter.wago.com/learning-material/details/ll0w3pmdunzvem83g1 There is a global functional component in a GVL of the library. I think it's called DynKbusIoManager or something. The active terminals are registered there. Then there are filter Fb's for e.g. the first clamp with a specific article number. Everything is in the PDF.

Hello, I have been using CODESYS for a while and after updating to version 3.5.18.50 the code randomly stops with this fault. Why is that ? I have tried to locate the fault in the Call Stack but I dont know what to do now... I have updated the projects properly for the version I am using. This fault started happening after like 14 days of using the new version of CODESYS.

With CODESYS V3.5 it is possible for a user to do the following things among many others. 1) Handling certificates especially move a certificate to the trusted folder. 2) Change password and create new users for OPC UA access However it requires access to the whole projects and its source code. Something you might not want to hand over to an end user for a stand alone product. Is there a way out of this problem?

To better track project changes in git I created a script that exports the project structure as text files. Textual POUs are stored as text, everything else as XML (with timestamps removed). The file structure is stored under path/to/your.project.txt Git merge will not work, but at least tracking changes is much easier. I'm getting this error on one of my projects. Searching for it I came across this https://www.codesys.com/fileadmin/data/Images/System/Releaseinformation/Patch-Note-CODESYS-Visualization-4300.html which says it was a bug VIS-1394, fixed in Visualization 4.3.0.0. I'm using a previous visu version, what is the cause of this error, and what can be done to work around it?

OK, I got this to work as shown above in mos89p's comment. What I did: Tools/Update Raspberry Pi. Reloading the runtime seems to have solved the web problem. I can view the visualization on the Pi and laptop using a browser as shown above. Thanks! But Isn't the visualization supposed to take over the screen of the Raspi? When I run visu projects on Windows or Wago, the visualization shows on that device's screen by default.. But this is not happening in this case

Hi All, I use the analysis page in automation server to capture historical trends from my PLC - i only sample one point per hour but it does the job (for now) One issue I have is I often log on to analysis page to find the system has stopped recording trends from my PLC. To fix this, I need to choose "state information" in the "List view" under PLC and click "Reconnect" When I do this I see my variables listed under "parameters" under "PLC Details" start updating again and the trend in Data analyzer continues to update. My Question, Why do I need to manually reconnect? Is there a way to get automation server to automatically reconnect to the PLC so I continue to capture data from the PLC? Regards, Trent

I am using the object SMC_GEOINFO to generate a trajectory and move a system accordingly using the SMC_INTERPOLATOR function block similar to the sample project CNC10_DynamicPath.project. According to the documentation, the movement type INITPOS does not require a start position in the SMC_GEOINFO object, which is confirmed in the documentation of the SMC_GEOINFO object. When using the movement type INITPOS however, the motion will still start from the starting point defined in the SMC_GEOINFO object (0,0,0 if not specified otherwise). Does someone know how to resolve this or is there an example project that makes use of the INITPOS movement type without specifying the starting point? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately not. The folder does not work. There are neither error messages nor any other indication that this may be due to missing rights. I have searched the entire forum and also tested the Codesys example. The simple recipe management generally does not work! The Raspi crashes with the extended recipe management from the example. I have now found another sample that works. https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/61c6a04b79/ Many thanks to mcodem. After some trial and error I have found out: xcreate must be called at least once at runtime. After that xload_write and xread_save work All other functions do not work. It is also possible to save to the /home/Documents folder. So it is not due to the rights. It would be nice if Codesys would check where the problem really lies.

Hallo, ich habe https://store.codesys.com/de/codesys-in-building-automation-examples.html runtergeladen und mit dem Installer und Adminrechten installiert. Jedoch finde ich auf C: keine *.project* Dateien. Kann mir jemand erklären wie ich an die Examples dran komme? Auch von Wago habe ich Packages bekommen in denen Beispiele enthalten sind. Auch hier finde ich nix. (Googel habe ich gefragt. Aber mit den Stichworten kommen viele Treffer die alle nicht hilfreich waren.) In der Hilfe von Codesys habe ich natürlich auch gesucht, aber auch hier nichts erklärendes gefunden. Angeblich findet sich was in C:\Programme\CODESYS 3.5.19.40\CODESYS\Projects oder auch unter C:\Users\BENUZTERNAME\CODESYS Examples Aber wie geschrieben finde ich auf C:\ nix was ein Beispiel wäre. Wäre echt super wenn mir jemand einen Hinweis geben könnte. Danke im Vorraus, Martin

Why do you develop things like this? The workflow should be highly dependent on autocomplete, then if that's not super obvious browse to definition and everything is made clear possibly with the checking of a few types. The nature of how things are done makes me think these libraries aren't developed for general use and are actually internal or for partners. The example projects include objects that don't appear in autocomplete and then lead nowhere obvious when browsing. Do you consider developer workflow when creating these libraries? Are some libraries really for public use such as Visu Utils and others not? If so which? It's really hard to tell.

😁 Yes, exactly... I have a clue about the why not... But really, it was many years, releases ago... Agree, this is not a functionality customers would pay for, but it's one rendering the product cool and contemporary. Like many other "simple" features like: Opening multiple projects within the same IDE Not just attaching, but editing diverse files inside the IDE (like XML, TXT, SVG?) Use 3rd, CODESYS independent plugins, editors inside the IDE... Isn't it possible to integrate CODESYS Engineering under VS? Or just use the core functionality from VS? Or the LINUX guys have a better idea?

Hello, In my projects, I'm following this recommendation about the rule names in Codesys https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_rules.html, so I always use backtick identifiers, not only for variables, but also for the object names. However, I have noticed that in the current version of Codesys, when adding Visu object, it is not allowed to used these identifiers in the name. This is very different from all other objects like, folder names, POU names, Variable list names etc. I wonder if there is some hidden settings I can use to enable backtick identifiers in the Visu object names? I have created a library with both code and visualizations to be used in multiple other projects. After I update the library version into the library repository, I have much difficulty updating the version into the main project. I can always update the library version in the Library Manager just fine. My issue, is sometimes Codesys will freeze when opening the visualization that uses the library visualizations. Sometimes it opens, but freezes when I try to access the library visualizations from the Visualization Toolbox. I try letting Codesys run for upwards of 4+ hours and it is stuck in this state. On very rare cases I have no issues and can continue with my work. I haven't found a consistent reason or work around. Has anyone else had this happen?

Hello everyone, I downloaded the "Example: PLC Chat Net Base Services" example from the Codesys help site to review and try it out. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_cds_plc_chat_net_base_services.html However, when I open and compile the example program with SP21 Patch2, I get the strange error message below regarding Visualisation component, and it fails to compile. " [ERROR] visuelems, 4.8.0.0 (system): VisuFbTabControl: C0138: No matching 'FB_Init' method found for instantiation of VisuClientObjectMgr " Are others experiencing the error "C0138: No matching 'FB_Init' method found for instantiation..." when trying to compile example projects created with older versions of Codesys with a later version of the IDE? In the past, we have routinely used the "add all instance paths" function to automatically add variables to VAR_CONFIG lists. My recollection is that compiling a project did not require VAR_CONFIG to be fully populated, and, once successfully compiled, instance paths could be added. Errors related to missing declarations, if I recall correctly, were thrown when downloading to the PLC, they did not prevent a successful compile. At some point, it stopped working. Missing declarations in a VAR_CONFIG now cause a compile error, so the application is never "current", the only reason I can see being the missing VAR_CONFIG declarations themselves (no other error). We observe the same behavior across all our projects. This is really aggravating, and I must be missing something simple. We use 3.5 SP17p3, 64 bits. Can anyone help?
