Hi We have picked up an issue OSCAT_BASIC.Scale_r function call not working in the old lad and FBD version 4.60. Gives no output on the function call. When we convert this to LAD2 it works. As can be see by the two screenshot in normal LD not working in LAD2 it works. Please confirm if this is an issue with Oscat or with LAD in 3.5.21sp3, is there an workaround. Regards Shaun

here is formula for scale function you can impliment your own scale function Output=OutMin+(Input−InMin)×(InMax−InMin)(OutMax−OutMin) FUNCTION_BLOCK FB_Scale VAR_INPUT xIn : REAL; // Input value (e.g., raw sensor) xInMin : REAL; // Input range minimum xInMax : REAL; // Input range maximum xOutMin : REAL; // Output range minimum xOutMax : REAL; // Output range maximum END_VAR VAR_OUTPUT xOut : REAL; // Scaled output END_VAR VAR xGain : REAL; xOffset : REAL; END_VAR // Implementation xGain := (xOutMax - xOutMin) / (xInMax - xInMin); xOffset := xOutMin - xGain * xInMin; xOut := xGain * xIn + xOffset;

Hi, I'm trying to monitor a specific PGN which I have it sending a pulse every 500mS Problem: Using the Watchdog for the ECU does not really help me as I have multiple instances with separate PGNs, if a PGN goes ghost, the ECU watchdog won't be flagged as the others will be running. I found the J1939.ReceiveWatchdog & J1939.ReceiveParameterGroup function blocks and they seem like a good solution for my problem, I just can't get them to work from my understanding you just build the J1939.ReceiveParameterGroup once and then connect it's output to the J1939.ReceiveWatchdog, here's my CODE for the setup HEARTBEAT_TIMER(IN:= TRUE, PT:= T#1000MS); //turn-on delay because of initialization race IF HEARTBEAT_TIMER.Q= TRUE THEN Glob_Var.DisplayReceive.xExecute:= TRUE; Glob_Var.DisplayReceive.itfECU:= Valve_X; Glob_Var.DisplayReceive.dwPGN:= 65511; Glob_Var.DisplayWatchdog.xEnable:= TRUE; Glob_Var.DisplayWatchdog.itfParameterGroup:= Glob_Var.DisplayReceive.itfParameterGroup; Glob_Var.DisplayWatchdog.tTimeout:= T#1500MS; END_IF Notes: Glob_Var.DisplayReceive is of type J1939.ReceiveParameterGroup Glob_Var.DisplayWatchdog is of type J1939.ReceiveWatchdog The above code is done once and not cyclically I'm monitoring Glob_Var.DisplayWatchdog.xError cyclically

Hi all, I am using CoDeSys V3.5 and a soft controller Win V3x64. I am trying to read a modbus slave via Function Blocks and not via the channels of the hardware tree for the Slave. I created some requests of type ModbusRequest and I notice that I can read Input Registers and Coils but I can not write Holding Registers and Coils. I am using the library IoDrvModbusTCP 4.1.0.0. When i just use a single modbus request with FC06 (or FC16), there is no request sent to the slave and although the xExecute takes its true value from a pulse of 2 seconds duration, I take almost every 3 minutes an error "TCP_COMMUNICATION_ERROR - 16#A5 - TCP Port. error. Request was not sent". My code is ok because if i change the function code for reading registers, everything works fine. Did anyone have this issue in the past? Thank you in advance.

Hi There, When using the new ladder editor there is no option for function blocks to Remove uncalled FB call parameters. I also see no update function block. When you double click the function block it no longer opens the function block. I also now get warnings if I insert FB call without a contact in front. Warning is: (Impl)): C0373: Expression or part of it has no effect I take it the new editor must work differently? The only reason for using new ladder editor is the ST execute/block editing is far better, If you have alot of text in the old ST execute the editor window is very small and when online it's even worse. The new ST block seems a lot better Thanks!

I think what you want is a declaration period function for the page, but unfortunately CODESYS does not have it.

Build: CODESYS 3.5 SP19 Patch 1 (64-bit) Host OS: Windows 10 Target: Linux SL I have a project with programs in Structured Text and Ladder Diagram. When I try to use the Find function, it works for the Active Editor; however, when I try to use Find for the Entire Project, I get the error "Object reference not set to the instance of an object." I know what this error means in the context of the program, but I have no idea why the find function is returning this error. The variable I am searching does not matter: it happens with all variables. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. I generally use the Find function quite often as I am developing and not having it is really slowing me down.

Hello, I program a function for an Ethernet/IP controller. I made a structure with input and output corresponding with the map of my controller for the function block. My problem is that I don't know how to do the link between the controller and my PLC (CC 100 from Wago). The addresses declare in Codesys are illogic, The first addresses are 12 and 13 then 7 then 4. How to do corresponding the addresses of the controller and the input / output structure ? IP adress ? Does I must create the all variables of controller with the controller adresses to use with the function block ? Thanks for your help. (I hope I'm clear, I'm not english)

Hello, Thank you for your answer. I'm afraid I was not clear on what I was trying to achieve. I'm trying to change parameters and command axes from inside a function block and the first thing that came to my mind was pass both the EtherCAT slave and axis to the function block (as image attached). But, I believe it's worse than just pass directly the EtherCAT slave address to the function block (is it???). However I was wondering if there was a way to get the EtherCAT address directly from the axis, so I don't need to pass the EtherCAT slave nor the EtherCAT address to the function block. Thank you again!

Post by anlebr on Alarm group template - Is it not possible with several instances?
CODESYS Forge

(Post)
Hi In the POU section of my project I have created a Fan function block and defined an alarm group template for this FB with one alarm (Motor fault). In the PLC program I define two instances of the fan function block. When going to the alarm configuration and pressing "Create or update alarm instances", I get two alarms listed. So far so good. However, when I start my program and check the alarm table in the visualization I only see one alarm, even if both are active. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not possible to define alarms on a function block level and get one set of alarms per instance of the function block?

Dear all, I am currently creating a program in the ST language. Because the program is starting to grow nicely I would like to switch to a more object-oriented way of programming. (Like for example in Python). By surfing the internet I found out that Function Blocks is the best method for this. Now I would like to delve further into this, with all the possibilities that Function Blocks have only I cannot find a clear course, explanation of what everything is around the function block thing and how to approach everything. I find the standard documentation around Function Blocks rather abstract and the examples are minimal. Therefore I am looking for a page/course/document explaining object oriented programming in Codesys (or other PLC programming environment). Do you have any recommendations on this?

I came up with an FBD that seems to be working, although it may not be a true Retriggerable Pulse timer. There may be some delay associated with the two MOVE functions and ADD function I incorporated. I'd be interested if anyone is able to come up with something cleaner. I am surprised that this is not a built-in function block of the CodeSYS library. This is a common feature of multi-function timer relays. I also attached a page from the cut sheet of a Schneider relay that shows 10 timing functions. Looks like the CodeSYS library has built-in function blocks for only 3 of the 10.

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
