Dear Forum, I currently have a challenge. I have a library with some communication classes. These communication classes need to be linked to an interface like this: Devices_and_controllers.Comm_Frame.Modbus_GVL_Link.KNX_TCP[Interface_Index] := THIS^; This is executed via a FB_Init() method. When I try to do this in a program this works fine. But when I declare the FB_Init() in the library the FB_Init() method is being called but the link is not made (interface still has the value 0000000000). The Objects and interfaces are defined in the library (GVL), so I’m assuming the data should be there. When I call the FB_Init method explicitly in the program it also works fine. Whys is this not working when it is all defined in the library? And is it even possible to create a structure like this in Codesys? Kind regards Alex

Hello, I have a project using some EPEC PLC's. Some of them are programmable using Ethernet and some use CAN. We currently have a Raspberry Pi that is acting as a gateway to the Codesys Automation Server and is successfully working for the PLC's communicating over ethernet. I am trying to achieve a similar result for the PLC's that have only CAN access. I have PEAKCan drivers on the Pi, and can successfully send/receive messages. But the Gateway does not recognise the PLC when scanned from the Automation server online. Is there a library or service that exists to translate the CAN messaging, to the Edge Gateway, and be able to achieve remote access with the Automation Server? Or is this not possible without creating something custom? Cheers, Daniel

Is it possible to use MC_Home without enabling the drive (MC_Power)? On the drive the homing method 35 (Homing on current position) has to be executed. The drive has to stay disabled due to safety. This is explicitly allowed by the drive. Unfortunately MC_Home reports the error SMC_REGULATOR_OR_START_NOT_SET when executed. Are there other options to start homing, if not with MC_Home?

Hello everyone, Updating and converting an existing working Codesys Softmotion axis control project to the latest Codesys IDE and Softmotion version always gives the following error message during compilation. " [ERROR] sm3_basic, 4.18.0.0 (codesys): MC_MoveAbsolute: C0138: No matching 'FB_Init' method found for instantiation of SMC_MoveAbsRelPerformerImpl " -- Previously working version: Codesys IDE SP18.50, Softmotion 4.10.0.0 -- Later updated version with the error: Codesys IDE SP21.10, Softmotion 4.18.0.0 Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Hello. I'm trying to use RecipeManCommands.ReloadRecipes Method for getting recipes from files. When I call the method it does not generate any error but also not reload any recipe to the recipe definition. Actually I have 6 recipe files on the directory PlcLogic. The rest of the methods work creating recipes, saving to file, etc. Does any one have the same issue? it is something to be set on the recipe manager?

Why must you use a method? Top of my head can't you just use the button to turn on a bit and use it in a normal task? Just turn a bit on with the button, and run a TON from it in code, and turn it back off with the ton. And then just log the pressure on both the rising & falling edge?

We are using codesys 3.5.16.30 and we have a array with strings of length 5000. We are having issues subscribing to this variable from an OPCUA client. Is there any limit in the OPCUA Server in codesys for how long an array can be on the opcua server?

I’ve come across two implementations that, at first glance, appear to perform the same operation: motionUnit.vlPositionActualValue is UINT due strange encoder type. Version A METHOD PROTECTED cyclicReadField VAR_INST actPosFieldOld: INT; rI: INT; delta: INT; END_VAR rI := TO_INT(motionUnit.vlPositionActualValue); delta := rI - actPosFieldOld; m_actPosRaw := m_actPosRaw + TO_LREAL(delta); actPosFieldOld := rI; IF settings.velocityFeebackMapped THEN m_actVelRaw := TO_LREAL(motionUnit.velocityActualValue); END_IF Version B METHOD PROTECTED cyclicReadField VAR_INST actPosFieldOld: INT; END_VAR m_actPosRaw := m_actPosRaw + TO_LREAL(TO_INT(motionUnit.vlPositionActualValue) - actPosFieldOld); actPosFieldOld := TO_INT(motionUnit.vlPositionActualValue); IF settings.velocityFeebackMapped THEN m_actVelRaw := TO_LREAL(motionUnit.velocityActualValue); END_IF Both use INT and the same delta logic, so they seem equivalent. However, when an overflow (wrap-around) occurs, version A continues correctly as expected, while version B unexpectedly resets to -32768 without a clear reason. Hi Artur, as mentioned by imdatatas, homing when not enabled is not supported in SoftMotion. If enabling before homing is not an option, an alternative might be controller based homing using MC_SetPosition. Best regards, Georg
