Hello, I’m working on implementing Modbus RTU communication with a Carel controller (CPCO). I want to use the front RS485 interface through the DB9 connector. The issue is that I can’t get the communication working correctly. Below are the steps I’ve done so far: Connected pins 3 and 8 from the DB9 connector to the +/- RX/TX terminals on the Carel side. In the PLC shell, I set serialmode to RS485. In WBM under Administration > Serial Interface > Assign owner of serial interface, I set the port to unassigned. In the device tree, I created Modbus_COM with the following settings: COM port: 1 Baud rate: 19200 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Created a Modbus client on this COM interface in RTU mode. Under the status tab, I can see it is in running state. On the client, I created a Modbus server and set the Modbus address of my unit to 1. Defined a few channels as FC03 to read holding registers according to the Carel register map. I checked the communication with the Carel controller using a USB-to-RS485 converter connected to my PC, and communication works correctly there. In the status tab, I can see that the Modbus server is polling, but there is no response from the controller. I also tried multiple times swapping A/B lines on the Carel side, but it did not help. Do you have any suggestions on what else I should check?

Hello, I'm using the new Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 4 version with CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL v4.8. Compared to the Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 1 version, the context menu on a Trace object no longer works. So I can no longer run the Downloader Trace command. Hello, I am experiencing difficulties in configuring a CANopen device by sending SDOs. In particular I am attempting to write an Object Dictionary that has VISIBLE STRING as the Data Type. When I try to configure the sending of an SDO from Codesys to configure this parameter I am not allowed to enter a string value. In my particular case I am trying to change the Manufacturer Device Name ( Index 0x1008 ). Could it be that Codesys doesn't manage these types of variables?

It turns out that you can build JSON structures without ever calling the JSONBuilder function block directly. Instead, create a pointer to JSON.JSONData and invoke the necessary methods on its dereference. The parent object has a parent index of -1 (and an index of 0). EVERY other item (including keys, values, empty arrays and sub-objects) created by the setX methods needs the index to increase by 1. Then use the JSONByteArrayWriter FB to generate your JSON string

Dear forum, I currently have a big question mark above my head, and maybe this forum can shine some light on the situation. I recently updated to Codesys 3.15 SP19 Patch 6. And now I’m trying to setup the OPC-UA server, besides that I’m trying to connect to the controller with the Codesys V3 (Ethernet) protocol. OPC-UA I have installed the correct licenses on my controller (Runtime and communication). I’m able to connect to the controller with an OPC-UA client, and I’m able to browse the tags, so far so good. Therefore I’m assuming that the OPC-UA server is running on the controller. But now the strange part, in the device security settings I have set the communication Policy to BASCI256SHA256 ( I also have tried the other ones) and the communication mode is set to secure if possible (I also have tried all the other ones) (see picture). With these settings I would assume that I would only be able to login with a Basic256SHA256 policy with a client. But the opposite is true, I am able to login using the no policy mode and when I set it to Basic256SHA256 the client (UA-Expert) notes that this policy is not available on the server. I then check the certificates and I noted that there is no certificate for the OPC-UA server, I tried to generate one but it gave the error that the certificate has not been created by the device (See picture). To summarize I have no clue what is going on, and the controller does the opposite of what I would expect. Codesys Ethernet V3 driver I have a HMI connected to the same controller using the Ethernet V3 driver. But this will not connect. I tried all the Protocols (see picture), with and without the username and password enabled. But it will not connect, when I scan the available servers I can see the controller with the port number that I am expecting, so I’m assuming that the Codesys V3 ethernet driver is up on the controller. Does anyone can give me some direction, because the stuff that I tried doesn’t make sense to me. Thank you in advance

HARDWARE: 2× HP EliteDesk 800 G9 SFF Intel Core i7-14700 (20 cores) 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 NIC1: Built-in Intel GbE NIC2: Intel I210-T1 PCIe (NIC team) SOFTWARE: CODESYS Control Win V3 - x64 Version 3.5.22.10 CODESYS SoftRedundancy SL Server 1 IP: 172.10.10.101 (PLC1 — Active) Server 2 IP: 172.10.10.102 (PLC2 — Standby) CURRENT CODESYSControl.cfg: [CmpRedundancy] BootupWaitTime=120000 StandbyWaitTime=12100 SynchronousTimeout=12100 [CmpSchedule] ProcessorLoad.Maximum=80 WatchdogTime=12000 WatchdogTimeoutAction=0 CONFIRMED WORKING: PLC1/PLC2 identification configured via IDE Connection IP configured via IDE AutoSync enabled and written via IDE Normal Active/Standby operation working Server 2 auto-promotes when Server 1 completely fails PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When NIC1 cable is removed from Server 1 — both servers go to standalone mode. Autosync(fires but does not complete recovery) PCAP ANALYSIS (Wireshark): CODESYS sync stops completely at T+3s Server 1 sends TCP FIN on ports 1206 and 1208 at T+5s No CODESYS redundancy traffic for remaining 24 seconds Both servers stay standalone indefinitely WHAT WE HAVE TRIED: StandbyWaitTime = 12100ms SynchronousTimeout = 12100ms WatchdogTime = 12000ms (less than StandbyWaitTime) AutoSync enabled NIC2 set as Standby adapter Disabled Windows Network Discovery Direct cable test — rules out NIC hardware QUESTION: Per official CODESYS documentation: "No automatic Reconnect is included in the functional scope of the redundancy components. You can program the triggering of a reconnect." Is RDCY.Synchronize() the correct function to add to our application for automatic recovery after both PLCs go standalone? We changed the path where the CSV file is. From intern memory of the IPC to a USB key. We still have this error 'INVALID_HANDLE'. We must restart the Codesys runtime to clear it. That is a big problem for us because machine is in production. @eschwellinger What do you mean by "this is a security issue not to read/write in the plc allowed path"

For instance MC_Gearin has beeen triggered, but starting point of master axis to start the sychronisation movement is not reached yet, so the slave axis is just waiting for this. If you want to run the ADS1115 single, then change the settings to the default values: ‘Is Multiplex:’ False ‘Stage mux channel numbers:’ [0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0] It is also important that the libraries are installed correctly here. It is not needed to add Targetvisu connector - for using the TargetVisu for Linux. The reason is - TargetVisu for Linux is basically a remote TargetVisu which could connect to any CODESYS plc not only the loacal one - therefore only a Webvisu connector is needed to have it work. & it seems a bug with this anoying update proposal.

It doesn't load differently codesys seems to be behaving differently. Original version of ethercat master in project archive is 3.5.15.50, compiler is 16.4 as is codesys I'm using. It builds fine in vm and not on local machine. The reason is not obvious. It builds on local machine with ethercat master at 3.5.16.0. I'd really appreciate advice

Hi blitz, that usually means that the modulo period, when converted to increments, is larger than 2^31. (The bus bandwidth is usually 2^32.) What is your "technical unit", do you program in angular degrees? And what is the modulo period? It is well known that you need to increase the value of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow to solve the "Fieldbus lost synchronicity" issue. In the official document, IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow is explained as the toleration of a certain jitter. But the official document doesn't explain what kind of the jitter is. Is it the jitter of DC sync deviation, master timer or something else? It is very important to know the insights of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow. For example, if it is the toleration of DC sync deviation, and the official recommending value is 200us for CODESYS SoftMotion. It means maximum of DC sync deviation is 200us. It is unacceptable for some high precision motion control tasks, for example high speed gear task, etc. Increasing the value of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow will increase the deviation of motor rotation sync if it is the toleration of DC sync deviation. So, would anyone tell me what the insights of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow is? Thanks.
