I have a J1939 network (ISOBUS) connected to my PLC. I can receive various PGNs such as 65256 (Vehicle Direction/Speed) and 65254 (Time/Date). However, I cannot receive 65267 (Vehicle Position). PGN 65267 (VP) contains SPN 584 (Latitude) and SPN 585 (Longitude). On the network both SPNs return a value of -210 (meaning the CAN message payload is zero in both cases). The conversion settings are the default values and appear to be correct (see attached screenshot). Using a CAN analyser I can see that PGN 65267 (Vehicle Position) is being transmitted over the network with valid (non-zero) data that matches the latitude and longitude coordinates I would expect. I've created a program to read the raw J1939 data and this also returns valid data. It seems that the Codesys J1939 database has a problem with reading PGN 65267 messages. Can anybody else confirm this? I'm using Codesys Version 3.5 SP16 Patch 5.

I have a turbine system that get in alarm under some condition (E.g low speed of turbine) and block the itself. When the system is stoped there is no speed turbine and the system cannot start. To give to the operetor the possibility to bypass the alarms, there is an acknoledgement alarm pushbutton. This bypass must not work for everyone but only for those client that perform the login by (User Management). Furthermore, if the user perform the (manual or automatic) logout in alarm conditions, the acknowlegment must be annulled and block the system again. To do this, I need to know if an operator is logged in the page and is working to fix the problem; otherwise the syste must autoturn off again. Now I go to study your solution, if I have explaned better and you have another idea tell me please.

I am currently working on a project using CODESYS and Control Win on a Windows computer. I've encountered an issue where I am unable to save a CSV file. I have followed the standard procedures and used the appropriate file handling functions, but the file is not being created or saved as expected. As I wrote before on the title, I have difficulties to connect to see webvisu from localhost. The story: while waiting for the plc+hmi to arrive, I'm preparing the software, mainly the visual parts trough the control Win3 x64 (same version as the ide 3.5.20.10). The problem is that I can't see the webvisu with the installed webbrowser. I don't know if this is a problem, but I changed the port to 9001 (randomly "free") because 80, 8000, 8080, 8088, 3000 are all occupied by other projects (all on the Apache server). Is there something wrong with the config file? This is the url: localhost:9001/webvisu_app.htm and here the config file part "CmpWebServer". The probelm arises for the B&R T30 panel after updating Codesys from 3.5.17 to 3.5.19 patch 5. We have to use 3.5.19 for other reasons so we cannot downgrade the version. The scaling problem only exists for the B&R 6PPT30.0702.20F025 panel, the B&R T50 panel and a esa lumia panel work. When we choose a fixed resolution it looks also good, however we also want to support the esa lumia panel with a different resolution. The images show the anisotropic and isotropic option. In the anisotropic option it scales the hight correctly but not the width and in the isotropic option is scales both hight and width false, it also does not start in the top left corner. Does someone have any suggestion why it does not work anymore with the new codesys version and are there workarounds? I added all versions with visualization packages as an image, visuElems is 4.4.0.0.

CoDeSys 3.5.19.7 Target Berghof MX6 In a simple SoftMotion programme with two stepperless modular axes from CMZ, one is simply controlled in speed, but a spot must perform a positioning. I use the function MC_SetPosition() both to reference the axis at power-up and also to correct the actual position to a fixed machine reference detected with proximity. The function has only one instance and I actually use a booelan variable to control the ‘Execute’ input. Well, I cannot correctly change the axis position on the fly if it is running at high speed. The servomotor works in a speed range between 0°/s and 720°/s, (gearbox output with a 1:6 ratio). As long as the servomotor is operating at speeds below about 400 °/s, the function is able to correct the position correctly even when forcing values far apart, but at high speeds, from 400 °/s upwards, the correction no longer takes place. For example, trying to correct the position of 280° into 300° with absolute mode, the axis that is moving at speed actually shifts the position by a few degrees, not the expected 20. I don't understand why with the servo drive running slowly the position shift occurs correctly, while increasing in speed it no longer works.

Ok, so i made some tests in the meantime and i have some conclusions. It apears that the enable bit is activated only when a motion function is executed. I implemented a very simple program with MC_Power and MC_Jog. If i enable everything on MC_Power, the enable GPIO pin stays off. However, as soon as the MC_Jog function is used the enable GPIO pin turns ON and remains ON. In version 0.0.0.4 this is not happening. The GPIO enable pin turns on or off when the MC_Power is enabled or disabled. From this behaviour i understand that in version 0.0.0.6 the GPIO enable bit is activated together with pulse and dir pins when motion starts. When motion stops, enable bit remains with the last state (on in this case) and you cannot turn it off for example. For me this bit is useful because i can turn on and off the stepper drive with MC_Power function. Now i can turn it on, but never off.

Hello, like the topic name says, i have a problem on one Visu which i cannot reproduce on another Visu. We filter buttons with input locks and visible items with [CURRENTCLIENTID] on different WebVisu's with different ID's, and one time the itfClient used the same Client ID for 2 Clients, so the Visualization on the first ID was wrong, because that one which connected after did not have the same permissions like the first, so the first one was blocked. Using Codesys 3.5.18.30 I am trying to work with an array of variable length in one dimension, but known in the other dimension. For example, using an array that represents a list of items, each with an attribute profile. I do not know how many items will be in the list, but I know that every item has 5 attributes, like size, weight, etc. Codesys does not seem to be able to accept this. I have referenced Data Type: ARRAY OF documentation page, which is not explicit if variable & fixed length array dimensions can be mixed. In the VAR_IN_OUT scope, I initially tried MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, *] OF REAL; which was no problem, of course. I then modified it to MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, 1..5] OF REAL; which throws C0006: ', or ]' expected instead of '..' among consequent downstream errors. I then used the Auto Declare -> Array Wizard, which accepted (asterisk)-(asterisk) and 1-5 for 2-dimensional lower and upper bounds. It output: MY_ARRAY: ARRAY[*..*, 1..6] OF INT; which throws the same error stream. What's the deal here? Is this possible?

I have a main PLC with my CODESYS project on, including Web Visu. I also have a second device used for pump monitoring, all of this is displayed on a seperate HMI. I am looking at displaying the pump monitoring HMI on WebVisu so that I can solely use 1 HMI rather than having two. I can project the pump monitoring HMI into Chrome, and log in and it works fine. When I'm using the Web Browser element in Web Visu, enter my URL (device IP) it shows me the web page, but doesn't show me all of it. It uses parts of JavaScript for the login authenticiation and various other widgets. Similarly, I cannot get Youtube or Google to display on WebVisu either (possibily because of the same reason). Does anybody have any tips on how I can display the likes of Youtube or Google onto WebVisu so I can view it on my 7inch HMI (I suspect that if I can get Youtube or Google to work, then I will also be able to get my pump montitoring web page to work too).

Hello, I would like to implement RS232 communication into CODESYS Control RTE V3. I was writing the program testing it on CODESYS Control Win V3, where it worked fine. When I changed it to RTE, the communication was on, but I cannot send the data between PLC and scale - there is no or little response from scale - mostly one time receive and that is it. On Win V3 it was working fine. I read that I am supposed to configure CODESYSControl file for a proper communication using RTE, but even after that I can not get a stable and working communication. I am attaching my CODESYSControl and CODESYSControlUser data below, as well as I am sending the code from communication function. The communication should be through COM1 port of PC. CODESYS Version: CODESYS V3.5 SP21 + (64-bit) Runtime + Version: CODESYS Control RTE V3 Version 3.5.21.0 / CODESYS Gateway V3 - x64 Version 2.5.21.0 I would be much gratefull for any help. Sincerely,

I have a Hmi that acts as an interface for many (mostly identical) units. This is managed by a sort of "mux" where you select which unit that should be presented on the HMI. Backbone is solved by a HMI-gvl defined as reference/pointer to "unit-data", which then can be set to the individual units. While this works for most data I still have not sorted how to solve this for the trend recordings. One solution would be to have already "mux:ed" data values as source for the/one trend. However then the trend would contain data from different units/sources which could/will cause confusion. If its possible to "clear" this can be mitigated. Possibly let the trend have its own "mux-selector" (ie, the hmi are focusing on unit#3 however trend data is locked on unit#5), that could also work.. Or, let each unit have its own trend recording, which is focused if the unit is "selected". Can I reach the trend recording objects programmatically (those defined in the device tree)? Ie, can I use a "reference/pointer to these trend recording objects"? There is a field "data source" in the trend properties dialog which seems to resemble what Im looking for? But Im not sure if I can use it in some way, I cannot change anything in this field it only says <local application="">. </local>

When evaluating Codesys functionality, I found that the VPLC tab under Deploy Control SL > Operation > VPLCs is 'grey-ed out', see attached image. I'm trying to evaluate how my infrastructure will interact with Codesys on a Raspberry Pi 4, so I'm trying to demo running it before purchasing licenses. I was going through the Codesys tutorial here, and it never shows the tab as grey, so I do not know how to proceed. Let me know if I can get any additional information that can help. This could be related to an Info message that's sent when connecting- [INFORMATION] Connected successfully! [INFORMATION] Successfully connected to target (<ip_address>) [INFORMATION] No supported container engine found on device. You have to install a supported container engine to use Virtual Control. Hi I'm automation engineering student and I'm not yet quite familiar with CAN-bus. What I am trying to achieve, to send two byte message via CAN from Epec display to Scott Drive inverter. I'm using code template made with Epec Multitool in Codesys 3.5 Problem i'm facing is that drive responds with same COB-ID. In multitool, you can create TPDO/RPDO. And depending on that, display either sends or only receives. This is problem, because for parameter polling from drive, you need to send two byte request to 0x399 and drive responds with eight bytes. If request is longer, drive don't respond. 0x399 is currently setted as RPDO, so display doesn't send anything on startup and I made program that sends messages to 0x399 bytes 0 and 1 and bytes 3-7 are shown in display. If setted as TPDO, display send all eight bytes and therefor drive cannot respond. But, I think because they are defined as RPDO, display won't send message, although monitoring with Codesys, values are changed. Question is, how should COB-ID be configured in Codesys, so it wouldn't automatically start to send message but would send when needed?

Hello mates, I'm working with CODESYS V3.5 SP20 on a Raspberry Pi and I use "Raspberry Pi MC SL" as device on the project. I've installed the Control Standard L (multicore) license on a Wibu System usb-Dongle (cmStick/4.50) that already had another license from another vendor. I follow the online activation procedure from CODESYS documentation. Raspberry Pi has already CodeMeter installed for the other license. When I plugin the dongle on Raspberry and start the Runtime from Raspberry Pi Update in CODESYS I receive the message that I'm on Demo mode because the license is missing. I double checked that the license is activated in the dongle, through the WebAdmin of CodeMeter and the second license runs properly without any issue. I have already try to change the dongle from HID to MSD device and backward but the the Runtime cannot recognize the Dongle. I have also try to stop and start the Runtime through CODESYS without success. Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?

Hi, I am trying to create a project using a raspberry pi, I have added the modules for the Pi and MCP3008. I have encountered som errors that I don't know how to track down. 1. The GPIOs give preprocessor errors, but I read that this does not prevent compiling. This seems to be true. I can build the empty project with no errors. 2. After adding a SPI master and MCP3008, the preprocessor errors double, but seem similar and the project again builds with no errors. 3. I add a DUT and GVL, with a function, and I get the following errors. They remain even if I delete these things. ------ Build started: Application: Device.Application ------- Typify code... Some new test. Now I cannot connect from Automation server to my gateway in any way also from my office setup with my unit directly connected to my router by dhcp. I can use the IDE and the tool "Connect Edge Gateway" and successfully connect to my server/link to my Automation server account. However no PLC will respond from Automation server "Network scan". I guess the traffic should be initiated by the gateway towards automation server? Any tips on how I can diagnose my problem? Ports to be opened etc? Thing is that this has been working previously but not now (base system has been updated from debian 12 to debian 13, but I dont know at which point it has stopped working). Setup as before. A "Codesys Control for Linux SL" running on a debian 13 installation. Any help/tips appreciated! Per Update. Found the error. Had a wrong gateway-setting. Which meant the PLC could not reach internet. Checked by "ping google.com" from the PLC.

Issue 1 — First row not displayed when using Maximum array index with 1-based arrays Description: When displaying data from an array that is indexed starting from 1 (e.g., ARRAY[1..N]), and the number of displayed rows is limited using the Maximum array index property, the first row of the array is not shown in the visualization. Steps to reproduce: Create an array indexed from 1 (e.g., ARRAY[1..N]). Bind the array to a Table element. Limit the number of displayed rows using the Maximum array index property. Run the visualization. Actual result: The first array element (index 1) is not displayed in the table. Issue 2 — Tooltip string placeholder cannot be bound to string variable from array Description: It is not possible to use a string placeholder in the tooltip that is bound to a string variable from the array. Steps to reproduce: Use a table bound to an array containing string variables. Configure a tooltip using a string placeholder referencing a string field from the array. Run the visualization. Actual result: Tooltip doesn't show any text. A test project demonstrating both issues is attached. Thank you for your time and support.

Turns out I managed to get a connection to my PLC. It seems that a few weeks ago Wago released something with version 4.3.3(25). So I reset my PLC to Factory-Reset, set it to the 192.168.1.17 IP and changed the IP to the one I wanted with the Wago EthernetSettings tool. Then updated the latest firmware using the WAGOupload tool. Now the PLC came back up without a PLC runtime running, so in the Web-tool I wen't to the "Configuration"/"PLC Runtime" and selected the runtime version "CODESYS V3". I uninstalled all Codesys versions and installed the version from the download package of Wago together with all the packages the bundle provided. After creating a new project I didn't select the old PFC200 runtime, but one of the dozens of new device profiles, that it now listed. With these settings I was then able to connect to my PLC. Now I hope I'll get the existing project that I had ported to this new structure. Sorry for the noise. Chris

Im looking for a way to implement ST-code into the visualization element without creating a helper POU or method in my device/application tree. Like visualization properties are evaluated at each VISU_TASK cycle I want to be able to create own ST code which interacts with the visualization interface variables. To be more specific I want to have a property which executes user defined ST-code at each VISU_TASK cycle exactly like its already possible for Input Configuration on various mouse and dialog events. Also a property for initialization (so only executed once) and a timed property would be nice. With the situation right now I'll have to create a POU function which handles the ST-code and misuse a property, like the text variable, to execute this POU function at each VISU_TASK cycle. Or does it exist and I don't know it?

Hello, I hope someone could help me. I installed the newest Codesys 3.5 SP 20 Patch 1. When loading the demo files from @i-campbell I can upgrade them to the latest version and everthing works on the OPC-UA client side as expected (object "a" is visible, I can use the "ExampleMethod"). Now I * remove the "Information Model", * delete the "OPC_UA_Symbols Objects", * Add "Information Model" again * add "TestRootObjectType" again and "Generate IEC declarations" * and search for mapped instances (to get instance "a" again) Very good still working as expected. Now I delete the OPC_UA_Symbols and add it again referring to the "objecttest" from 16.9.2020. Also I redo the steps from above. The result is now, that I can't see the "a" object in the "Root/Objects" folder. Why ist this and how can I make it running? I think, it could may be a different version of the UA configuration file. I tried to build my own model definition files and got the same problem (but I am really not an expert). When someone has a actual model, which is also running in the actual Codesys I would be very grateful. Or even better, how to make the correct model in e.g. UA Modeler SW (I followed the description https://documentation.unified-automation.com/uamodeler/1.6.0/html/howprojnet_sec.html).

Hi, Learning Codesys CNC, and I am confused by the dwIpoTime parameter. I have a basic demo application, using SMC_Interpolator feeding into SMC_TRAFO_Gantry2Tool2, which then sets the position of the x/y SM_Drive_Virtual axis. I also have a C axis which revolves the tool, which is controlled using a simple tangential angle calculation SMC_CalcDirectionFromVector. The GCode I'm using has feed/accel set at 500. The axis configuration limits are well above that (2000). What's strange is that, when I run the simulation, the feed speed changes drastically when I update the variable dwIpoTime. The larger the number, the faster it moves. What's going on here? The documentation only says "This variable has to be set for each call. It represents the cycle time in μsec." Why does it change the feed speed I'm seeing the in simulation? What is a good number to use? The example I was looking at set it at 5000. Screenshot attached.

In general, drives have parameter sets to adjust behaviour in such cases: position recovery, adaptation with resistant torque, out-of-position window failure, etc. (Much depends on the type of configuration set for the axis: positioner, speed controller, torque controller, etc.). I have used that type of drive very little, in only two cases and a long time ago. To tell you what is normal is impossible. I know by reputation they are very simple objects, without too many pretensions and adjustments possible. Try running traces by monitoring actual position, motor current, torque and following error. These are the most sensible curves to understand what is going on. Maybe by fine tuning the motor tuning, the current controller or the speed controller you will get something closer to what you want. For example, from DS, the motor has a standstill torque of 3 Nm. Observe with traces whether this is effective: motor current trend. And afterwards, when you have your own accurate picture of the situation, you can also hear from the product's local support to see if you can steal a few more things from it performance-wise.
