Hi All, I have problem with ModbusFB.ClientSerial. I'm using 4 different port for Modbus communication. After some time of running program ClientSerial stops to receive data to reply buffer and all request finish with Reply Timeout. The Device sent reply correctly,that it is visible on oscilloscope and it is possible to see that data( reply )are in the device. If the usbtty device is read over external app. then it is possible to see all data which were not taken by ModbusFB.ClientSerial. The stack does not overflow or something , program runs correctly forward and no exceptions or something. The main problem it is that when the error occur than it is not possible to reset port or something or maybe i'm doing it wrong way. please help me with this issue. Hello, In my projects, I'm following this recommendation about the rule names in Codesys https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_rules.html, so I always use backtick identifiers, not only for variables, but also for the object names. However, I have noticed that in the current version of Codesys, when adding Visu object, it is not allowed to used these identifiers in the name. This is very different from all other objects like, folder names, POU names, Variable list names etc. I wonder if there is some hidden settings I can use to enable backtick identifiers in the Visu object names? Attached is a screenshot with the details. Thank you!

Hi, a few suggestions on how to tackle the problem: - it might help to increase the cycle time of the ethercat task - increase the value of the ethercat parameter DCInSyncWindow (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/IODrvEtherCATDriver/Current/pou-IoDrvEtherCAT/DCInSyncWindow.html) (see attached image) - enable FrameAtTaskStart (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/IODrvEtherCATDriver/Current/pou-IoDrvEtherCAT/FrameAtTaskStart.html) in the ethercat master (see attached image) - if the drives can handle the synchronization problems, checking of the synchronization can be deactivated using SMC_Set_ETC_DCSyncSupervision (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/SM3_Drive_ETC/Current/SMC_Set_ETC_DCSyncSupervision.html).

Hey guys, I'm very much a noob with networking, it's my achillies heel, and this is my first networking project using Ethernet/IP. Any help offered is GREATLY appreciated. I'm trying to network a Codesys Project with an Omron NX1P2 PLC. I'm using EIP due to hardware restrains. I've added the fieldbus, EIP scanner (as the master), and made a Network Variable List. On the Sysmac Studio end, I've made the variables and set them to network inputs/outputs, registered them in EIP settings, but when I try to set the target device (the Codesys project), I suspect I need to import an EDS file for the EIP mapping. Back in the Codesys project, I'm not sure how to: - Make an EDS file to share with Sysmac Studio - How to link the target device (Omron PLC) to the EIP fieldbus - How to map the inputs from the Omron PLC. Im sorry for my very open request for help, i'm kind of lost looking through the various forums/video/tutorials as many of them dont match what im trying to do. Any help, or sample programs would be so so greatly appreciated. If you need any further clarifications, please feel free to ask. Thanks in advance, Toby

I think that the .err file is the .app file renamed by Codesys, so it is compiled. We met this behaviour one time, it was because the runtime goes in exception due to bad Ethercat cables.

Under Application->"Task Configuration" you can find your task double click on that and you will see a fane to the right. You find the watchdog enable switch it off or increase the time

Hi Trusty-Squire, just seen you post , thanks for the reply. I was out on site the other day as it had done it again and changed a few things like cycle time etc. plc load is only 7% at its highest. I took a few screenshots while i was there to add to this post. its been up for about a week now but seems to happen at random every couple of weeks. fingers crossed!

i know, this is the reason for us either. PLC-Handler is to big, and only available with additional Contracts/Costs. OPC-UA is to slow for us. As described, there is a solution available, but im not allowed to post them here. i would prefer you send a message at codesys store by "have a question" or similar called. Not sure. Or, if an Codesys-Official Member allows to share that informations, i can give you the right hints.

Hello I need some help understanding how to use Modbus RTU (COM port) in Codesys enviroment. I defined a Modbus Server device (slave) in device tree and added some channels to read from (function 3). Also I set trigering mode to Application. I have a POU in which I want to trigger each channel one after the other something like this (C code for better visualisation): for (int i = 0; i < channelsCount; i++) { triggerChannel(channelsArray[i]); // Start transmission while(channel.xBusy); // Wait for transmission to complete } I have found ModbusChannel function block documentation but examples are scarce. I don't understand how rising edge triggering works. What would be the best solution for achieving sequntial channel triggering? What is the common way to read multiple Modbus channels once every time a specified POU is executed?
