Hi, we did install the real-time kernel patch on the RPI and also performed the additional optimizations including isolating the cores. Changing the configuration of the planning task e.g. running it on a separate core, changing the cycle times and mode from cyclic to freewheeling did not show any improvements.

I'm trying to get the OPC server setup on my machine and currently I'm not having luck. I went ahead and got my license setup. However when I go to run WinCoDeSysOPC.exe I get an error message that I don't have the code meter licenses installed. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this issue?

I added a main action to an SFC step, and then tried to delete it. There is no delete option in the SFC menu nor in the right click menu of the step. I deleted the action from the device tree, but building results in and error saying the action is not defined. Is there a way to delete a main action?

Currently in my test the variables declared in the first application are not visible and writable in the second. I ask if there is the possibility of having variables that are visible both in the first application and in the second.

It is a known issue. It only happens with CODESYS and Wago controllers and the Persistent Variables. It seems related to using 64 bit variables in the PV list (e.g. LREAL). Internally in the PLC everything works okay. It is just a monitoring issue.

Why does CODESYS 3.5 show the message “Source code changes since last download” even though I did not create or modify any new variables? When I go online with the PLC, it detects changes and suggests synchronizing, but nothing was actually changed in the project. What could cause this and how can I fix it?

I am using both functions for: I override SMC_LimitDynamics o calculate the individual axis jerk on polynomial movements. LimitDynamics only controls acceleration and velocity, it's not enought to create smooth movements. To solve the problem when smothing path create loops. It seems that polynomial passes two times by the same point and smc_smooth path chooses incorrect one.

Hello, I am new here and need some help. I have added the Date Picker to a visualization page. The date selection works, but the current day is not highlighted. The date and time are displayed correctly by the system, which is set by default to “VisuElems.Visu_DateTime.DisplayUTC:= FALSE;”. Is there some project setting or Visualization Manager setting that I am missing? Thank you. Ilario.

Many issues with the alarmmanager and alarmstorage can be solved by deleting the configuration, rebooting, and redownloading. I've found that the configurator doesn't always update when you make chanegs. For linux installations it is typically located in /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/alarms/ look for file Application.AlarmConfiguration.xml cd /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic sudo rm -r alarms sudo reboot

I just tried with version 3.5.22.1 and librarys updates often aren't recognized, usually not. Same behavior like 3.5.21. To describe my workflow: one IDE is used to test librarys as project and two or more IDEs to edit librarys. With only two open IDEs there is no problem, the problem began with more than two open IDEs.

I'm programming an HMI for a machine. I want to log all the parameter's changes (used text field for displaying and changing) for particular User levels. Created a Numpad and want to log oldvalue and Newvalue on 'ok' Button press. To retrieve the oldvalue, i check if the dialogue opened is my Numpad, Then I retrieve the dialogue interface via GetDialogInterface(ADR(myNumpad)) --> numpadData.stVariableValue which contain my oldvalue and save it locally. Problem is sometimes i retrieve the data and sometimes not. Also observed when Numpad Dialogue is Opened, VisuDlgUtil_IsDialogOpen returns False in some cycles.Attached you will find my Project. please let me know what went wrong or if there is a better approach to collect old and New Value of a textfield. I have a test application and use Codesys Control for Rasp Pi SL. I made a mistake and updated device from MSL to MC SL, and now if I try to go online with archived version of the project I gett error message that IDs are different between project device and target device. Of course, I can go online if I changed device in the project from SL to MC SL, but I'm not sure that is correct. So I have two questions: 1. What is the actual difference between MC SL device and standard SL device when it comes to raspberry pi 4? 2. What change I need to do on raspberry pi4 side to change device back from MC SL to SL? I run CODESYS runtime as a service and use CmpLog (the LogAdd2 function) to log different events to a file. I have done this many times before on various projects and hardware, and it works fine. On this particular system, I have CODESYS 3.5.20.40 running on a Windows 11 PC. The CODESYSControlService autostarts (with Local System credentials, the default), and the application runs fine. However, the configuration file is not read (or at least not the one that should be, or not the CmpLog section), and log files are not written to the disk. I would be thankful if anyone knew why this is happening and how to fix it. A note to CODESYS people: you must provide more information on the codesys configuration file, CODESYSControlService.exe and other major components and system behaviour. You created the service and various features (i.e. logging), but haven't explained how they work, which, in my opinion, is below standard for industrial automation software. These are my observations: - When running as a service, the config file is not read (none of them), or at least the CmpLog section is not read. I checked the log using Codesys IDE, and the CmpLog parameters are not the ones I have set in any of the config files. Which CmpLog config values does the service use, and where does it read them from? I have no idea, but it's not the config files. Here are the codesys config files I located on the PC's disk: o C:\Program Files (x86)\CODESYS 3.5.20.40\GatewayPLC\CODESYSControl.cfg (only 2 lines in this config) o C:\Program Files (x86)\CODESYS 3.5.20.40\GatewayPLC\AppDataFiles\CODESYSControlWinV3\CODESYSControl.cfg o C:\Users\SRV\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3\C4DBB537\CODESYSControl.cfg o C:\Program Files (x86)\CODESYS 3.5.20.40\GatewayPLC\tempCFG\CODESYSControl.cfg - When I run codesys as an app (e.g. by clicking the icon), this config file is read C:\Users\SRV\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3\C4DBB537\CODESYSControl.cfg and log files are written ok. The icon target is "C:\Program Files (x86)\CODESYS 3.5.20.40\GatewayPLC\CODESYSControlService.exe" -d o the -d option, I think, starts a cmd-like window showing service debug output (the output shown in log in the IDE) o the -i option, again I think, means install the service - I tried adding -d to service start parameters in the registry, but it started only once and after that it refused to start. I'm not sure what you are trying to do, but getting the CurrentUserGroupID like this will not work, because there could be multiple Visualization Clients and each can have a different user that is logged in. Also when you go online with CODESYS and open an Visualization, this is counted as a client. Probably this is the reason you see it changing. What you can to is "iterate" over all clients and then see which user is logged in on which visualization Client. For this you need to add the Visu Utils library to the project and call the FbIterateClients. Its important that you know the difference between the two. Example 1: Coils[0] := Coils[0] OR (Buttons[0] AND Sensors[0] > 6); In this case the statements will be evaluated every scan and result in either true or false for Coils[0]. Example 2: IF NOT Coils[0] AND Buttons[0] AND (Sensors[0] > 6) THEN Coils[0] := TRUE; END_IF In this example Coils[0] will latch the result in a true evaluation, if you want it to behave the same way as example 1 then you need to do it like example 3 below: IF NOT Coils[0] AND Buttons[0] AND (Sensors[0] > 6) THEN Coils[0] := TRUE; ELSE Coils[0] := FALSE; END_IF However back to the real question. There is no problem using either example 1 or example 3, if im not requiring a latch i usually go with example 1 as it is more compact.

Hi all, I am using CoDeSys V3.5 and a soft controller Win V3x64. I am trying to read a modbus slave via Function Blocks and not via the channels of the hardware tree for the Slave. I created some requests of type ModbusRequest and I notice that I can read Input Registers and Coils but I can not write Holding Registers and Coils. I am using the library IoDrvModbusTCP 4.1.0.0. When i just use a single modbus request with FC06 (or FC16), there is no request sent to the slave and although the xExecute takes its true value from a pulse of 2 seconds duration, I take almost every 3 minutes an error "TCP_COMMUNICATION_ERROR - 16#A5 - TCP Port. error. Request was not sent". My code is ok because if i change the function code for reading registers, everything works fine. Did anyone have this issue in the past? Thank you in advance.

We make heavy use of internally developed libraries, which are often nested on multiple levels. I routinely work simultaneously on several libraries along with a project that use them. I make changes to a library and immediately perform a download (online or otherwise) in the project. For the longest time, we had zero issue with this. But starting a good while back, with 3.5 SP19 I think, CODESYS started not noticing library updates in other instances most of the time. When the update is missed, the project sees no need to update the code, and any download ignores the new code. A "Clean all" does not solve the issue. But if I close and then re-open the project, then the new version is noticed and the download works. The other solution is saving the library to the registry multiple times (say, 20-30 times, less if lucky), and then at some point the project notices the changed library. I am now on SP21, and it is still not fixed. This is driving me mad, any tasks probably takes me double the time or more due to this problem. My colleague has the same problem on a separate computer. Is this a known issue? Is there a setting somewhere that changes how updates are checked? Thanks for any help!

Hello, I have very similar problem, but it seems that your solution does not work for me. I am using TwinCAT XAE Shell v3.1.4024.55 and TwinCAT Runtime. Sorry for writing here on codesys forge, but since I found the only relevant topic here and since TwinCAT is almost the same with CODESYS in many applications, I chose to write here. I simply need to dynamically update image in visualization based on camera trigger (I am doing a machine vision application). Camera triggers an image, my program processes it (applies thresholding, draws contours etc...) and saves the processed image in the runtime location (the same one you were mentioning). This was done successfully. I need to make it work at runtime, while the program is executing and I need to refresh the image in the visualization each time camera triggers a new image and program processes it. When I create image element in the visualization and define the bitmap ID variable as STRING which contains the image ID defined in the image pool, then it displays the image in the image pool, but does not work at runtime, while the program is executing. I also used the Bitmap Version. I declared it in Global variable list as integer with initial value of 0 and wrote the variable in the bitmap version in the image element in visualization. Each time new image is saved to the runtime location, I wrote a program to increment Bitmap Version by 1. It increments and the image does not update in the visualization, unfortunately. I think that bitmap version is working correctly and deletes the cached image as it is supposed to, but the Image Pool does not update the image ID with the new image... the path to the image is always the same... only the actual image changes with the same file name. Image Pool is not dynamic and cannot refresh the image in the path to the actual one at runtime. How can I refresh the image ID in the image pool at runtime? Bitmap version only deletes cached image and reloads the image from the image ID, but the image ID has the same image, because image pool won't update at runtime. Do you know any solution to this problem?

hi! im planning a project on a raspberry with Codesys. For this I'll need a number of relays to control heating and fans, all a max of 24v and about 2a. How would i know if the board / relays i buy will be working with Codesys? Does every hat work or does it need a library/driver? is there a list of drivers/libraries created? as this is a hobby project all tips on a relay board or single boards that works with codesys and not to expensive are very welcome.

Update: This initial issue was when using a Linux target PLC. Since then I have created a Win10 target PC and the Codesys software reported an issue associated with the device version (see attached). I am assuming this is an incompatibility with the xml file from the manufacturer and the firmware version on the module and I am chasing this up with Beckhoff. Question is, why would this not report with a Linux target?

Hello All! Having a strange issue. When adding a library, I'm unable to search. Each time a window pops up 'creating the search index' and then has 0 results. I have the same behavior when using the library repository and pressing the 'Find' button. I wonder if there is a way to reset or fix this issue? It is making it very difficult to search and find proper libraries to add to my project. Much appreciated.

hi, anyone else having trouble with opc ua in codesys sp20? i get Error 'BadIdentityTokenInvalid' was returned during ActivateSession i have tried both windows x64 runtime and linux runtime. i have created a completely new codesys project for this. in each of them i have only added the symbol configuration and selected one tag. i have tried several opc ua client, like ua expert, nodejs and python. all return Error 'BadIdentityTokenInvalid' was returned during ActivateSession so the problem must be the opc ua server.
