I am currently developing a library that contains real‑time data. To handle this real‑time data, I am using additional libraries called SysTime and SysTypes Interfaces. When I compile my library on its own, no errors occur. However, when I use this library in a project and compile the project, I get an error indicating that the SysTime data type is not recognized. This happens even though the SysTime library is visible as a dependency under my library. Does anyone know how to correctly include a library within another library so that the project recognizes the sub‑library without causing compilation errors?

Dear Forum, I'm currently experimenting with Modbus interfaces in combination with a virtual controller. I have the following setup (Modbus_Setup.png): I have an IPC with Debian installed on it (Debian 13). On this Debian machine I have installed a docker server and on this docker server a Codesys runtime container is deployed (Codesys_image.png). The Modbus scanner makes connection with and IO coupler and this works well. But when I physically disconnect the ethernet connection between the IPC and the IO coupler the Modbus interface gets stuck in a state where it gets stuck in the busy state (Modbus_Stuck.png). When I plug the cable back in, the IO coupler isn't communicating until the xBusy variable is manually set to False, after this action is performed the communication goes back to normal. I have tried to set the container network to host and bridge (Network.png), but both version gives the same result (stuck scanner). I would expect that the Modbus interface is generating a timeout after 1 sec, because this is how it is setup (Modbus_settings.png), but this is not what happens. I have thought to write a piece of code that writes xBusy to false when it is stuck but because it is an output I'm not able to write to it. I have tried this with another PC (different CPU/motherboard) but this gives the same outcome. I tried updating to the latest version of Virtual control (4.20) but this gives the same result. I also tried to do the same thing with an ethernet IP scanner, and this gives an error after the timeout is expired (so this works well). I have tried to connect to the IO coupler using the Modbus_FB lib (Modbus_FB.png) the FB's are giving the correct errors and behaving as expected. At last I have tried to use a Scanner on a Codesys controller (no IPC) and here the scanner behaves as expected (an alarm is triggered after the timeout has been expired). The version of the Codesys components are listed in the picture Versions.png Is there anyone that can give me a push in the right direction? Kind regards Alex

Ciao damian177, provo a chiederti un'informazione. Sul mio progetto Codesys(ver.3.5 SP17) non è visibile l'oggetto "Data Source Manager". Il PC con il progetto Codesys(client) è collegato via rete TCP ad un PLC Siemens1200(server). Sul PC con Codesys ho installato UAexpert(client) e riesco a vedere le variabili del PLC1200. Riesci ad aiutarmi a capire come mai non è visibile l'oggetto "Data Source Manager"? Molte grazie

Hi, The '' characters in Codesys are there only to indicate it is a STRING type. They are not actually added to the string, maybe you are adding them unintentionally in the concat function? You can send your data from Codesys to Hercules to verify... Another option is to send the data as an array of bytes instead of a string, with every byte representing 1 ASCII character. https://www.ascii-code.com/ This way you are 100% sure Codesys is not adding any unwanted characters.

Hi Trying to send csv file to c:\data\xxx.csv Im able to save to plclogic and after doing this https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/5cac1390b4/ i can now "file transfer" to host pc downloads. but still cant transfer to c:\ im sure i have done this in the past with older versions of the 3.5 ide? just concat the file name as c:\data\My_Filename.csv. any ideas? cheers

@eschwellinger do you have any examples of using a USB barcode scanner? I have read through the forums here and I am unable to find how to get the barcode data to populate in a text field without having to first click into the text field to activate it. Is there a library that allows you to access the barcode data? I am really new to this in general any help is greatly appreciated, hopefully you have a pretty clear example

The generic sensor FB is for controlling the sensor via its cyclic input (PDI) and output (PDO). In this case, ifm raw cyclic input and output data are WORDs (16 bits total) The PDO data from the Buerkert unit are SINT (8 bits) In this case, I would use the unpackword fb from the CAA memory library to unpack the valve feed back value into the appropriate location.

Just adding: sSubscriberdata := ''; Right before your memcopy should fix the extra characters. It is because your are copying 36 characters into a string which can contain more than 36 characters and there is garbage left in the extra characters. Regarding the parsing of json, I usually build a structure that mirrors the json data and use the available methods in the IIoT library to parse the data and fill the structure.

I have Already the same problem when i'm trying to write data more than 10 times in the same file. In fact, i send my data periodicaly to a file that i configured to have permission of W/R in my CodesysContol.cfg. When the Error occurs, i must reboot my machine to success. It means that the problem isn't realted to a limitation of size, but a problem in the function supposed to handle the file. totorovic : allow me to know if you've found a solution to your problem. Hallo, ich versuche, eine Modbus-RTU-Kommunikation zwischen meinem Raspberry Pi mit CODESYS Control für Raspberry Pi 64 SL und einem Servotreiber von StepperOnline, Typ T6, herzustellen. Die Verbindung ist wie folgt: RJ45-Stecker am Servotreiber -> Kabel mit RJ45 an einem Ende und USB-A-Stecker am anderen Ende -> Seriell-zu-USB-Konverter -> Raspberry Pi. Der Seriell-zu-USB-Konverter und die Kabel habe ich zusammen mit dem Motor und Treiber von StepperOnline gekauft und sie sind dafür gedacht, den Servotreiber mit einem Computer zu verbinden, auf dem deren Setup-Software läuft. dmesg | grep tty auf dem Pi sagt mir, dass der USB-zu-Seriell-Konverter auf ttyusb0 ist. Ich weiß nicht, wie man das in einen COM-Port übersetzt, ich habe COM 1 genommen. Ich habe ein Projekt in Codesys erstellt und ein Modbus_COM-Gerät hinzugefügt, einen Modbus_Master_COM_Port und einen Modbus_Slave_COM_Port angehängt. Auf der Registerkarte "Allgemein" des Modbus_COM habe ich die folgenden Werte eingestellt: Slave address 1 Baud rate 9600 Parity None Data bits 8 Stop bits 2 Ich habe den Servotreiber auf die gleichen Werte eingestellt. (Ich habe auch andere Werte getestet, aber mit dem gleichen Ergebnis). Auf der Registerkarte "Modbus Slave Channel" des Modbus_Slave_COM_Port habe ich einen Kanal hinzugefügt und die folgenden Werte eingetragen: Access type Read Holding Registers (Function Code 3) Read Register offset 0x0000 Length 1 Ich habe noch keinen Code geschrieben, weil ich noch nicht herausgefunden habe, wie man die Kommunikation programmiert. Wenn ich das Projekt zum Raspberry Pi herunterlade scheint der Modbus_Master_COM_Port zu laufen (grünes Symbol), aber der Modbus_Slave_COM_Port nicht (rotes Dreiecksymbol). Wenn ich einen anderen COM-Port eintrage, haben sowohl der Master als auch der Slave das rote Dreiecksymbol. Ich habe dies auch mit meinem Windows-PC unter Verwendung von Codesys Control Win 64 versucht und die gleichen Ergebnisse bekommen. Ich wäre dankbar für jede Hilfe oder Tipps, wie ich den Grund dafür herausfinden kann, warum der Servotreiberreiber nicht reagiert.

Hi, Would really appreciate your insights in this issue I have. I am currently using a WAGO 750-881 with multiple IO devices. For one of them I already occupied the MODBUS Master configuration tool so I cannot overwrite it for my other devices. I have a total of two serial interfaces WAGO 750-652. The first one is instantiated in COM2 and doesn't need any protocol since the information comes in an specific formatting that need little code to differentiate between needed info. This one is working just fine. The second one is where I have an issue. I have tried to instantiate the port using MODBUS library modb_L05.lib to properly receive the data from an ARDUINO and I am absolutely unable to open the port: Signal DEVICE2.fbModbus.MODBUS_EXT_MASTER.Interface.Com_Port_Ist_Offen is never TRUE, among with all other signals from that interface, while signal DEVICE1.COM2.Com_Port_Ist_Offen is TRUE, and the other signals also read as TRUE or FALSE. I have tried instantiating the second one as the first one, changing COM3 to COM4, I've tried a lot of things but it wont ever open the channel. I don't know if you have any recommendations for me. For both physical modules, both witness LEDs A and E are on. After some more digging I realized that I get an error on the PLC Logger saying PersistenceChannel: 150 (invalid type in data: SimpleLibrary). ..strange just switching of this device without graceful Linux OS shutdown? Reset orgin on the device tree and a new download of the application will bring it up and running again but sure then the persistent data are for sure lost.
